《what a strange name》ch.7

I'm standing in front of aunt mays grave. Uncle ben is behind me, his hand on my back. It's comforting. Suddenly he drops his hand. As I turn around to look at him, I see aunt may, scraps of metal and glass sticking out of her left side. She screams at me. "you could have saved me! If you had been paying attention I would still be alive!" Now I'm standing in front of the school, running after my bus. I couldn't catch it. I text may to pick me up. I'm in the councleors office, sobbing. Now I'm standing over bens body, lifeless. I'm screaming for him to wake up. I hear another voice screaming to. Even when I close my mouth I'm still screaming at him. He opens his eyes and grabs my arm. "Peter! Peter!" He says, that's not his voice.

"you asked that I tell you when peter is in discomfort." Friday says.
I shoot up out of my chair. Tony was away on a mission. I run to peters room, thinking of him in the hospital.
I open the door to his room and see him curled into a ball, crying. I run over and start to gently shake his shoulders.
"Peter! Peter!" He bolts up, gasping for air, and starts sobbing even harder. "I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I didn't mean to." Peter mumbles under his breath.
"Peter, its ok. Everything will be ok. You're safe." I say, rubbing his back. He starts to calm down, not crying as hard as before.
Peter looks up at me and quickly wipes his tears. "sorry. I just had a bad dream. I'm fine." He says, sounding nothing like the happy go lucky kid I know.
"its ok. Do you need anything?" I say, trying to figure out how to comfort him.

"I just need some time, that's all." He says. I get up and walk out of the room, turning to look at him as I leave.

Dr.strange closes the door, and I hear him walk away. I walk over to my bag and dig through it, I can't find it.
I grab my suit, the one mr.stark made for me. I write a quick note saying that I went to calm down. I swing down to the corner store, surprised that its dark outside. I walk around, not bothering to take the suit off, or the mask.
I grab a box of shaving razors and bandages. I walk up to the counter and the cashier just stares at me. It takes him a while to snap back to reality, and scan my items.
After I paid, I sing back to stark tower, going back through my window. I grab the note from my desk and throw it away.
I take off the suit and change into some long sleeve pajamas. I walk into the bathroom and take out the razors. We all know what I did.
I wrap my arm in the bandages, pull down my sleeves, and walk into the living room. I see clint, ms.romanoff, dr.strange, Mr.rogers, and mr.barnes.
Walk over to the breakfast bar and start to make a toaster pastry. "what time is it?" I ask. "it is... 7:30 at night" clint says, staring at the watch on his wrist.
"what?" I turn around to see if he's joking. He's not. "did I sleep all day?" I ask, scared I missed school. "you took a nap right after you got home. Don't you remember?" Dr.stange says, looking concerend.
"I think the nightmare gave me a head ache. I'm going to lay back down." I say, walking up to my room.

As I walk down the hall I hear clint walk behind me. "wizard told me to make sure you pass out on the way there. I'm going to bed too." He says, pointing to the door at the end of the hall.
"I'm ok, just a little head ache. I'll be fine." I say, holding a hand on the wall for stability. "let me help you." Clint says as he grabs my arm.
He takes my arm and puts it around his shoulder, basically carrying me to my room. He stops at the door.
"you sure you'll be ok?" He says, letting go of my arm. I stand straight on my own, holding my head. "I just need to open a window. Fresh air, y'know."
I walk into my room and clint goes to his. I walk over to my closet and put on my suit. I need fresh air. I need to feel something, or stop feeling all together.
I swing to the tallest building I can see. I look around and see a man taking a kids backpack. I swing down and drop in front of him.
"I don't think that's yours." I say, webbing the bag out of his hands. That's when I see the knife. I expected him to go for me, but he lunged at the kid.
I feel a sharp pain in my side, but its not anything I can't handle. It just graded me. Luckily, he missed the kid. I webb the knife away from him and stick him to the wall, high up from the ground.
"are you ok?" I say, turning to face the kid. He's rummageing through his bag. He pulls out an ace bandage and stands up. "Let me help." He says, calmly.
I would expect a kid to freak out, especially after almost being stabbed. He seems like he's used to it. Christ. He opens the bandage and in wraps it.
"sit down. It helps the badage stay on better." He says, pointing to a large rock. Confused, I sit on the rock and the kid wraps my side with the bandage.
"there." He says. I put my hand on his shoulder. "thank you. You're a good kid. What's your name?" I say, concerend.
"Caleb" he says, quietly. "thanks Caleb." I say before swinging off to my room.
I climb back through the window and take off my suit. I notice the bandages on my arms are all bloody. I change the bandages on my arms and bandage my side with gauze and medical tape.
I probably would have had lost a lot more blood had that kid not given me a bandage. I feel bad for him. I throw on some pajamas and go to sleep. Or at least try.
