Y/N POV
Hopper said that the school should have some in there storage and this was for if the ice was bad in the winter but we'd be using it for a different reason. I road with Mrs. Byers, it was me, Lucas, and Dustin who went with her and Mike, El, Nancy, and Jonathan road with Hopper.
It didn't take us long till we got to the school. As soon as we got there Hopper and Jonathan went to go get the salt from the storage room.
Me, Lucas, and Dustin's job was to drag the pool and set it up. Dustin rolled it into the gym. "This d*nm thing is heavy." Dustin said. He pulled in into the center of the gym, we then had to unfold and set it up. We opened it up and it folded back. "Ya this isn't going to work." I said. "Okay, um..." Dustin was trying to think of a way we could do this. "How does this even work?" Lucas questioned. Lucas looked at Dustin and pointed to his right. "Try that side. And Y/N move to your left a little bit." It folded over again. "Son of a b*tch!" Dustin yelled. "Pull it back. Pull it back." Lucas told us. "I am!" Dustin said back. "Okay, in the count of three we hold it out. One. Two. Three." It wasn't working. "Sh*t!" Ugh, we needed Mike's help! Where was he?
Mike's POV
Nancy and I had to get the hoses. While the others had to set up the pool. How hard could that be? We went over to the other storage facility. Nancy couldn't open the door it was locked. I thrust my body against the door trying to open it. I grunted it didn't work. "Stand back." Nancy told me. What was she doing? She picked up a rock and hit it in the chain of the lock. The lock broke and she opened the door. "Whoa." I was impressed. She went inside and turned in the light and started grabbing some hoses. We put the hoses in a wheelbarrow.
I held the last hose and Nancy walked the wheelbarrow. We started walking back. "What did she even eat?" She asked me. "What?" I was confused. "Eleven." "Oh, leftovers, candies, eggos... " She interrupted me. "Eggos?" She asked. "Yeah, she really likes eggos." "I knew you were acting weird. I just... I thought it was because of Will." I wasn't the only one acting weird we both were. "I knew you were acting weird, too. I thought it was 'cause of Steve." We were keeping a lot from each other. "Hey..." She said as she set the wheelbarrow down. "No more secrets, okay? For now one we tell each other everything." If this was true, I had to ask her a question. "Okay. Do you like Jonathan now?" She had a immediate reaction. "What? No. No, it's... it's not... it's not like that." Sure, but I hardly believe that. "Do you like Eleven?" No we're just friends, I don't know why her and Lucas think so. "What? Ew. No. Gross." I told her. She picked up the wheelbarrow again and we went back to working.
Eleven's POV
The woman they called Mrs.Byers was finding the stuff I needed for the bathtub. She told me that there'd be stuff in the science room and so she looked for stuff I sat down. I had to do this, that was a final. And if I saw that faceless creature again, oh well, it can't hurt me but it could hurt Will. Mrs.Byers came back, she had goggles and a gray sticky stuff. She put the gray thing over the goggles. "This will keep it dark for you. Just like your bathtub." She told me.

I nodded. She looked at me, and I saw sadness and worry in her eyes. "You're a very brace girl. You know that, don't you? Everything you're doing... for my boy... for Will... for my family..." I was doing this not just to help Mike but that I wish for someone would help me with my family, but I have none. I looked back at the woman she was kind and caring, I wanted to live a normal life. "Thank you." She sniffled. I wish she was my mom.
She held my hands in hers. "Listen. I am gonna be there with you the whole time. And if it gets too scary... in- in that place, you just let me know, okay?" "Yes." I said. I no longer wanted to do this just for Mike but for her and Will, even though I didn't know him, I knew he didn't deserve this. "Ready?" She asked. My breathing was off. I was scared but I had to do this... for them. "Ready."
Lucas's POV
Mike and Nancy finally made it back with the hoses. They set them up by the pool, which we had finally got up. Nancy hooked the hoses up the the water line. She turned in the water and Mike held the hoses to the pool. "This might take some time." I heard Y/N say. That's when I noticed she was looking at me. "Hey." I said to her. "Hey." She smiled. It's been a while since I'd seen her smile. I hoped that this would all be over soon. I wanted us to be happy, I wanted her to be happy. She payed her head on my shoulder. I wish it could be like this forever. "Lucas!" I heard Dustin yell. Y/N flinched. Sh*t! Did he see? He still wasn't facing us, he didn't see. "Hey I need you to check the temperature of the water!" I got up and walked toward him and grabbed the thermometer from him. Y/N sat down next to El on the bleachers and they started talking.
It had been a while and the pool started having the right amount of water, just not the right temperature. "Colder!" I yelled to Nancy. She turned. "Warmer!" She turned it again. It was starting to look good. I think we had the right temperature. "Right there!" My job was over now it was the chiefs job. He started looting in the salt. Dustin had to test the water. He set an egg in. It sank. Not enough. Jonathan and Hopper poured more salt in. It was now the forth attempt. Dustin sat the egg in, and it floated, it worked! He smiled and I patted him on the back.
Mike got out his super come and turned it on. Now it was El's turn. El stood by waiting for when everything was ready. Now was the time. She took off the watch Mike had given her and gave it back to him. Mrs.Byers handed her the goggles and she put them on. Hopper and Mrs.Byers helped her into the bath. El sat down and stared to float.
Eleven's POV
I was weightless in the bath. I felt myself falling into the void again. It was dark, I walked slowly. The only sound was my feet through the water. It was getting scary but I had to do this. "Barbra?" I called out. I saw a body laying on the ground in some green stuff, I walked toward it. A squishing sound came from it as I got closer. The body, it was barb, she- she was dead, a slug came out of her mouth. Her eyes they were still open, she was covered in slim and her body was greenish and blue. She she was gone. "Is Barb okay? Is she okay?" I heard Nancy say. "Gone! Gone!" I screamed in terror. I stared to hyperventilate. "Gone! Gone! Gone!" I wanted out. I wanted out! "Gone! Gone!" I screamed. I could barley breath. "It's okay. I got you." I heard Mrs.Byers say. "Don't be afraid. I'm right here with you." Her voice echoed. "It's okay, you're safe. You're okay, honey."

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath I can do this. When I opened them I saw a fort that had a sign that said Castle Byers. "Castle Byers." I spoke. The fort was made up of wood which was the frame, old blankets were over top of it making it covered, and a old flag hung as the entrance, and it was covered in the slim the was over- over Barb. I walked toward it slowly, making ever move the safest it could be. I moved the flag and walked into it. I got in my knees and bent down to Will, he- he looked like Barb, but he was barley managing to survive. "Will." I said to him. "You tell him... you tell him I'm coming. Mom is coming."
I was no longer afraid. I held Will's hand. "You're mom... she's... she's coming for you." He opened his eyes weakly. "Hurry." He croaked. "Tell him we're coming, we're coming." "Just... just hold on a little longer." I told him. I grabbed his hand. "Will. Will." He was barley moving. Everything was starting to fade. I wasn't done yet! Then he started to fade away. He disappeared, and from all around me there was growing. Where'd Will go? "Will? Will!" It was gonna get me, it's noice surrounded me. I squeeze myself and started to cry. It was getting to cold to scary. I wanted out!
Y/N POV
The lights went out and El had just got into the bath. The electricity sounded as if it was about to go out. Everyone was silent. "Barbra?" I heard El say. She was doing it. There was a squishing sound coming from the supercom. El started to breath heavily, what was wrong? What was going on? The lights went out again. I held on to Lucas's hand, I was getting scared. "What's going on?" Nancy asked. "I don't know." Mike responded. I looked to Nancy and I saw worry in her face. "Is Barb okay? Is she okay?" She insisted El to answer. "Gone. Gone." El mumbled. "Gone. Gone. Gone." She repeated. Nancy put her hand over her moth and started to cry. "It's okay. It's okay. It's okay." Mrs.Byers held El's hand trying to comfort her. "Gone. Gone!" She screamed. "It's okay. It's okay." "Gone!" "Hey, it's okay." El was gasping for air. "It's okay, we're right here. We're right here, honey. It's okay. I'm got you. Don't be afraid. I'm right here with you. It's okay. It's okay." Mrs.Byers comfortable her.
This reminded me when my parents were out, which most of the times they are. But when I fell playing with Will outside there house climbing a tree I fell and she comforted me and made me feel safe. "Castle Byers." That was the fort Will told me about once I came back. "Will?" I gasped. Please, please, please be okay, I could feel myself starting to tear up. "You tell him... tell him I'm coming." Mrs.Byers said to El. "Mom is coming." There was a silence. "Hurry." It was Will over the supercom. He sounded like he was dying. No not like he- he was dying. Some tears came out of my eyes. I leaned on to Lucas. He looked worried. "Okay. Listen, you tell him to... to stay where he is." Mrs.Byers stuttered. "We're coming. We're coming, okay? We're coming, honey." There was a faint growing over the supercom. "Will? Will!" El cried out.
She stared to whimper and scream. She sat up and Mrs.Byers grabbed her. El was breathing heavily. "Oh, okay, okay." Mrs.Byers held her. "I've got you. It's okay. I got you. I got you. I got you, honey. You did so good. Are you okay?" She asked. El was crying. I went over and grabbed a towel for El. She got out of the pool and I put it over her. Dustin, Lucas, Mike, El, and I sat down. El leaned in Mike. I took off my jacket and sat it beside her so she could have some sort of dry clothing. Lucas rubbed her. I looked over to Mrs.Byers and Jonathan and the chief all headed out the door. Where were they going. "I'll be right back." I told Lucas. "Wait we're do you think your going?" He asked me. I started walked through the door and he followed.
"I'm going to help." "Then you're staying here." He grabbed my arm. "I promise I'll be right back." I told him once again. "Remember when you asked me to promise you to 'don't leave you'? Well I'm not letting that happen, your not leaving me either." "Lucas please, let me go. I won't get myself hurt." No, I can't loose you, you said you'd be back once you ran off and almost got killed by Troy." Crap, I forgot to tell him what really happened. "Luc-" He kissed me before I could finish. "Y/N, I'm not loosing you." "I know." I kissed him back. It was like the world stopped for us, if only, but all good things must come to an end. Nancy just happened to walk past us in the hallway, crap, she caught us, I guess making out. We pulled away from each other's grip. She said nothing and kept walking.
Will's POV
"If I go there will be trouble, and if I stay there will be double. So come on and let me know, should I stay or should I go now?" I sung to myself. There was a sudden growl. I shot up. There were footsteps coming from outside. I could see a figure through the cracks of the fort. My breathing got heavier and heavier, I tried to stop it but I couldn't. The growling continued, my heavy breathing stopped. The growling stoped, it was just silence. Then creature roared and it burst through the fort, and like that I was gone. My senses were gone, I couldn't see, I couldn't smell, I couldn't hear, I couldn't feel, and my breathing was going away. It was like something was in my throat and was crawling in my stomach, I couldn't speak but I was screaming inside. It's like being dead but not, I wanted to die.
