《Gentleman ♡》14)"I miss you."

Its been two weeks since they took the car from Grants.
I'm starting to think they dropped it.
But there ain't been shit on the news about any of it lately, The robberies, the murder, none of it.
Its concerning.
If they had something on me they would've moved by now. I'm sure of it.
"Earth to Lesane." Adrienne's voice breaks my train of thought.
"Why'd you come in my apartment and just stand in one place? Are you okay?" She asks, a smile on her face. I nod, pulling her into a hug.
"I'm good."
I breathe in the smell of his cologne. He always smells so good. I pull away, studying his face, he definitely has something on his mind.
"So what did you wanna show me?" I ask.
Tupac called me this morning and said he was coming over because he had a surprise for me.
He starts to take off his shirt.
"Umm sir-"
"Just hush." He chuckles, "Look." He says, pointing at his forearm. Kiada's name is gone, its covered by a cloud with a date and someone else's name underneath it.
"Who's Kadafi?" I ask.
"My brother." He says.
"What happened to him?" I ask, Lesane's expression hardens, his gaze drops to his feet.
He told me it was just him, his mom and his sister. He never mentioned a brother.
"We can talk about it another time." I say, sensing that its a sensitive subject for him.
There's a long pause between us before he clears his throat.
"That wasn't the surprise. This is." He says, looking down at his chest briefly, then back at me. I hadn't even noticed it before. He got his 2Pac tattoo covered with my name in beautiful cursive letters.
"But that was the first tattoo you ever got." I say. "And you covered it, for me?" I start to tear up a little, making him laugh lightly.
"Time for a new chapter. It was kinda ugly anyway." He says, a smile on his face.
A tattoo of my name?
On his chest?
Covering his very first tattoo..
Thats serious. Is he really that serious about little ole me that he barely knows?
Its been a long time since I've been in a serious relationship. A part of me is kind of afraid. But Lesane is different, I know it.
He pulls me into a hug.
"Adrienne Walker. I like you a lot." He says, resting his chin on the top of my head. "You're special to me." He adds, squeezing me a little tighter.
I don't respond, I just lose myself in this moment, letting him squeeze me like a little teddy bear.
After Lesane left, I threw on some clothes and decided to do a pop up on Jamie.
I don't care if she doesn't want my help.
I feel like something isn't right. And I wouldn't be a good best friend if I just let her fall down a rabbit hole.
I knock on the door, DeVante opens it. Of course.
"Hey." He says, as I nudge past him into the house.

But this time it looks normal. The house is clean, really clean. And it smells like salted caramel, Jamie's favorite candle.
"Did you need something?" DeVante asks, closing the front door. He's in a white T-shirt and jeans. "Me and Jay jay were just about to head out actually." He says.
I squint my eyes at him.
"Look. I know we didn't start off on the right foot, but I'm not a bad guy." He says, walking closer to me, his hands in the pockets of his jeans.
"De who are you tal-" Jamie comes down the hall, she stops when her eyes land on me.
"Why are you here?" She asks.
"I came to see if everything was okay. Like I said I would." I say, folding my arms over my chest. I can feel DeVante's eyes on me, but I ignore him.
The house is normal, but Jamie's outfit isn't. She has on thigh high boots and a miniskirt, and a tank top that you can see her nipples through.
I squint my eyes at her this time.
"Where are y'all going?" I ask.
Before she can say anything, DeVante steps into my view, he drapes an arm around Jamie's shoulder and squeezes.
"Out." He says. "So you should get going. I'm sure you have more important things to do, Ms. Walker." He adds, walking over to the front door and opening it.
I glance at Jamie again, her expression is stale and emotionless.
"Okay." I shrug, heading towards the door.
"Call me if you need me."
"Why are you always at my house?" I cut my eyes at my sister.
"Why are you never at your house?" She asks, sitting on the kitchen counter. She takes a bite from an apple and gives me a look.
"Because I'm grown." I say, sitting my keys on the counter next to her.
"I took Serenity out for a walk earlier. And the day before, and the day before. You know, because you're always gone." Sekyiwa says, before jumping down from the counter.
"Her name Is Renny."
"Well she answers to Serenity. She's technically my dog anyway." She says.
I walk over to the fridge and open it. Left over pizza.
"How long this pizza been in here?" I ask.
"Since like.. Two days ago." She says.
"Still good." I say, tearing off some aluminum foil and turning on the oven.
"You're gross. What keeps you so busy anyway dear brother?" She asks, before taking another bite of her apple and tossing it in the trashcan.
"Black Cotton."
"Maybe. Or perhaps its all that bank robbing you've been doing for the past few months." Sekyiwa says, making me look at her.
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
"I'm not an idiot Tupac. You always being gone, plus you always counting stacks of money, plus all those layouts of banks in your room, equals, my brother is a murderer." She says.
"Don't call me that."
"Oh I'm sorry. Do you prefer hit man?"

I slam my fist down on the counter, making her go quiet.
"You don't know what the fuck you're talking about. And you wouldn't have half the shit you do if it wasn't for me and what I do for you and mama. So shut up, and stay out of my mother fucking business." I say, before putting the pizza in the oven and walking out.
I groan, slamming my bedroom door behind me.
Then I hear Renny scratching on the door, I open it and she runs in and jumps on my bed.
"Hey girl." I say, watching her get comfortable.
"You know you not supposed to be up there."
She whines, making me smile a little. "You can stay up there a little while, but only cause I need some company."
I take the last bite of my pizza and ball up the foil.
The house phone rings, making me jog downstairs to get it.
"Wassup." I answer.
"You gotta tell her or I will." Kiada says, making me suck my teeth.
"Why the fuck do you still have this number?" I chuckle.
"I'm serious."
"Why does my life matter so damn much to you Kiada? Find something else to do. If you was gonna tell her you would've done it by now sweet heart." I say.
"I just think its not fair to her." She says.
"Look. I get that you might actually be worried. But it ain't none of your damn business. What is your reasoning for wanting to tell her? Huh?"
"She's my friend."
"Wrong. Y'all ain't home girls and ain't been for a while. Try again."
There's a silence on the other end for a while.
"I miss you." She finally says, her tone low and sad.
"Igh. What you want me to say?"
"Pac we were together for years, you can't tell me that you don't miss me because I know you do."
"Well that's exactly what I'm telling you right now. I'm over you. Stop chasing me because you making yourself look crazy. Crazy ain't a good look on you baby doll." I say.
"I'll give you a week. Tell her or I will." Dada says, before hanging up.
I let out a breath and shake my head.
Ain't this a bitch.
~
"Its been two whole fucking weeks. We could've hit three more banks by now." Que says.
"Yea he right. If they had sum on us they would've talked to one of us by now." Raheem says.
"So. What? Y'all think we should hit Bridgepoint?" I ask.
They both nod.
"They could be waiting on us to do this shit man. I think its a set up." I say, shaking my head.
"Its only one way to find out though." Que shrugs. "Ian pin you for a scared ass nigga Pac. Thought you was tuff." He adds, I suck my teeth.
"Friday. Eight o'clock. We in there." I say, before dappin them both up.
"We gotta be careful. Bridgepoint got the highest security we ever dealt with. If we slip, its over. No casualties this time Que." I look at him, but he just waves me off.
"Ima do whatever I gotta do to get us in and out." He says.
A soft knock sounds on my office door before Adrienne comes in. Raheem and Que both look at me and then back at her.
"Oh.. Was I interrupting?" She asks shyly.
"Nah. You good. Dri, this is Que and Raheem, business partners." I say, they give her respectful nods.
"This is-"
"I'm Adrienne, his-"
"Girlfr-"
"Friend. Very close friend." She interrupts me. We both laugh nervously.
"So y'all fucking." Raheem says. Adrienne starts to say something but Que interrupts her.
"If y'all wanted to be alone that's all y'all love birds had to say. Let's bounce Raheem, we gonna let these two freaks get they freak on." Que winks at me before him and Raheem get up and leave my office.
"My bad. I lost track of time, they normally would've been gone when you got here." I say, but Adrienne just laughs.
"They seem fun."
"Yea, I guess."
"Why do you never have on a shirt at work?" She asks, she glances at my gun on the desk, making me move it to the drawer beneath me, out of sight.
"Too much beauty to be covered baby." I say, making her roll her eyes playfully.
"Well, your girlfriend doesn't appreciate you showing everybody your beauty all the time." Adrienne says, walking around the desk and sitting on my lap.
"Good thing your just my very close friend." I say, we both laugh.
"I was nervous. Honestly, I don't really know what we are Lesane... And I really don't wanna rush anything between us. I like you a lot." She says, before placing a soft kiss on my cheek.
"I get it. But I ain't sharing you with nobody else. We can be "very close friends" as long as you want. But I better be your only "very close friend." I say, she just looks at me, her brown eyes focused on mine.
"Okay." She says.
I look down at my watch.
"Late for your shift. That's a write up." I say, Dri sucks her teeth.
"Well I'm already late so.. It won't hurt to be a little more late." She says, before kissing my neck.
"Oh girl you tryna make me change my mind about waiting ain't you?" I chuckle, nudging her a little.
"It was worth a try." She says, getting up. "You coming over tonight?" She asks, opening my office door, the sound of the music from downstairs fills my ears.
"Nah, I got some stuff to prepare for. I got you Saturday though."
"Okay." She shrugs, before walking out.

Binary Soul
So let's say there's this girl. A young girl who happens to be a highly-trained, psionically-gifted, nanite-infused, genetically-enhanced and emotionally unstable assassin that doesn't know the concept of 'mercy' or 'holding back.' Let's say she and her imaginary friend miraculously pass through the borders of reality into an alternate universe, crash landing into a world of swords and magic aboard a starship full of high-tech wonders. Now, let's also say the first person this borderline psychopath meets happens to be her doppelganger - a highly gifted mage who happens to have a few problems of her own, like a bad temper or a bad habit of chronic self-delusion. With me so far? Good. Now, what's the on the agenda for these two different people who happen to be the same person? Settle down, start a family and thoroughly enjoy life. Maybe get married and have some kids. How about befriending a violent alcoholic or defeating an ancient evil being? Perhaps kill a few dragons and wreck a city along the way. Anything can happen around the city of Runetap, after all. It's a place where bizarre and strange things occur on an almost weekly basis. The people living there have long abandoned silly things like common sense or minding the details. A giant flaming UFO streaks above the city in broad daylight? That's just another Tuesday. The City Guard even had the form for that, so believe me when I say this. It's your loss if you mind it. This is the light-hearted and fluffy tale of Ellie and Kira as they forge their own path of absurdity and crazyness across a world that often makes little sense. Loosely inspired by the Discworld series of books by Terry Pratchett, even though the author hasn't actually read any of them. Contains yuri, mature themes and the author's personal views on several subjects. Explicit content is kept to a minimum.Does NOT contain slavery, rape, drugs or any other similarly heavy themes.

Note: Slight edits to early chapters (and removal of one chapter - previously chapter 2) have been made 2/2/21 The city, my city, had once been alive in a way that was hard to describe. Thriving, active, hopeful. Vibrant. But life, as I had come to learn, sometimes possesses only the most tenuous of grasps. Finally, in the end, it became my city - mine alone. I was, after all, the only one left. Worse, it was entirely my fault. There was red in my ledger that could never be wiped clean. Not while I still lived, anyway. This story follows Eran, a man who became the opposite of everything he had ever wanted to be; in a world where superpowers began to appear in a rare few, his lack of control over his own power relegated him to the role of a terrible villain - the Reaper, named so for the countless lives that he absorbed and made his own, each only furthering his deadly lack of control. Gone mad with guilt and isolation, he strove for a single heroic act - his own demise. Death was less permanent than he hoped. Centuries later, he woke to a changed world and in a body not his own. Unfortunately, his power came with him. Yet this time, things would be different. This time, he had a chance to bring it under control. He could never truly make up for the things he had done; he could never achieve redemption. That wouldn't stop him from trying to be a hero.
