I lay here with a note

I received last week.

My heart hammers in my chest.

Since then, I got no rest .

Since then my brain has become

Dead.

My mind, thinking in depth.

Have I brought this on myself?

Am I that dumb not to think

Twice.

In my hand

The note reads:
