[you and mon-el had to break up]

for months, your relationship with mon-el was really stable. it was a healthy relationship, something you both needed and wanted. however, that had to come to an end. due to your job moving you across the world and mon-el's 'job' making him stay in national city. based on time zones and extensive work coming towards both you, you decided to end it.

mon-el didn't. he felt as though you two could make it work, somehow get past all of the obstacles. although, you didn't believe it. a relationship has to be stable, or something close, for it to work. and it would just hurt both of you in the end. "mon-el, if i could stay with you, i would, you know what. you're the love of my life, and maybe some day it will work, but not today."

he tried to force a smile, but his eyes and mouth grew tired of pretending. tears dropped from his eyes, his smile faltering to a frown. you hated to see him sad, but you knew that it had to be done. "hey, don't wait for me, it's unfair to you," you tried to comfort him, not wanting to pull yourself back into the fantasy.

"i know you don't want me to, but i just can't," mon-el responded, his eyebrows furrowing together. you sighed and started to walk away, the pain bringing too much weight on you.
