《Dr Luthor - Supergirl AU》Plague

Kara's POV
We ran out to where my sister was directing us and we saw a crowd of people, all sick and coughing. They were each covered in blood and blisters and a few were already being taken in stretchers to other rooms.
"What the hell?" Lena and I both said almost in unison. I looked at Alex, asking what happened.
"We don't know. Suddenly all of these people were in here, it's like a more intense version of the plague."
"As in... the black plague?" Lena whispered. Alex and I both nodded, looking at the grieving woman, who had stopped crying and was looking around with fear.
"Lena, you need to call anyone who is willing to come in today. Kara, help me with a few of the bad ones." Lena grabbed her phone and went back into the room we were in before. I helped Alex check over a few of the really sick people before I saw Clarke practically fly into the room.
"What happened?" He said immediately, dropping to a few of the people on the floor.
"Some sort of illness that's going around. Apparently, these people just woke up and were covered in these bubonic type blisters."
"If it's anything like what happened in the past, we need to take precautions..." I watched as my cousin made his way through the infected people, he let me give him a hand as we slowly but surely ended up with an empty waiting room and a completely full hospital.
I walked out of one of the rooms, covered in blood and other fluids from the poor people. Lena ran out with a worried look on her face. "What is it?"
"Kara, it's contagious. Highly contagious. You, Alex, Clark... everyone who helped, you all need to get checked immediately!" She grabbed my arm and took me to her examination room, where my sister and cousin were waiting too. "Just sit there and don't move!" She ran out and the three of us looked at each other.

"What's happening?" I asked.
"All of the doctors that went too close to the victims are being checked for signs of whatever disease this is." Clarke was calm, unlike Alex, who was freaking out.
"What is this thing? It has filled my hospital! Why are all of these people sick?" She was ranting, something that was usually my speciality. I looked at her and stood up, walking over to her and putting a hand on her shoulder.
"Everything will be okay, Alex. I promise. We are going to be fine. I doubt that we will catch this and from here on out, we will be careful with quarantine and stuff." Alex hugged me as Lena came into the room.
"I need to take blood samples to test for anything irregular." She pulled out a few syringes and took our blood, labelling each of them with our I.D tags and putting them back in the small case.
"Lena..." I said, grabbing her arm just as she was walking out. She turned to me and gave me a quizzical look. "You need to test your blood too. You mightn't have been close to them but you were around them and us." She nodded and kept walking, leaving us alone once again.
After two hours of waiting, Clarke was pacing while Alex had fallen asleep on the bed behind us.
"Clarke, stop pacing. You are making me feel anxious."
"Sorry, I am just nervous. I have never been injured or sick or anything."
"Then I guess you would notice, right? Trust me, we are all going to be fine." I turned back to Alex, she was sitting up and rubbing her eyes. I walked to her slowly and helped her off the tall bed.

"What did I miss?" She yawned.
"A whole load of nothing. The door is locked so we can't get out." Clarke groaned. As if on cue, the door swung open and Lena walked in. She gave us each the results of the tests.
"I haven't looked at them yet, I figured you guys should be the first to find out for yourselves considering you can all read the results properly. Mine came back all clear, just so you know." She gave me a 'told you so' look. "Is everyone clear?" She asked.
"Yeah, all is clear," Clarke said, smiling and handing Lena the result page back. Alex did the same and they turned to me. Clarke sat back with relief before speaking up. "Kara, what about yours?"
"Clear." I lied.

The Dungeon Calls for a Sage
Archimedes was the ego behind one of the most powerful dungeons ever created. He grew and developed his halls, filling them with powerful monsters and beasts, over the course of thousands of years. He was a grand structure of ten thousand floors which even heroes had failed to defeat. However, an Evil God had come from another world, calling himself the Demon King, and a party of heroes were sent to do battle with it. Through their victory, they obtained enough strength to breeze through Archimedes' dungeon like it was nothing. Forseeing the end of his life, and realizing how pointless his pursuit of power had been, Archimedes destroyed himself, taking the heroes down with him. Still, Archimedes felt despair that he had lived a worthless life as something as pitiful and futile as a dungeon. Sensing his regret and potential, the voice of the world presented Archimedes with the chance to start anew and live a more meaningful life. Thrilled and hopeful for the first time in eons, Archimedes accepted the offer, only to be reborn again as a dungeon core with not a single room or monster to his name. Just what was the meaning of this?! Archimedes couldn't figure out what the voice of the world was thinking. Somehow, he would have to draw a sage into his dungeon to figure it out for him. _______________________ DCS is now a member of the WriTEr's Pledge, which means I have sworn to see it through to a satisfying end.

This is the story of an expanding empire, not understanding its reach, unfulfilled by its goals, and misled by its gods. It follows a group of travellers as they try to expand the empire, and probe the edges of its control. It is set in a world in which power is directly connected to origins, ancestry, and the gods of a culture. It examines the effects of conflict on a people when they can’t be disconnected from their surroundings, and thus true mobility is not possible. The first book will be focusing on a group trying to explore and settle the lands east of their empire. Deciding that a new push is needed, groups are being funded to take and farm the near-empty land, and this group of four is heading out ahead of many of the settlers. The four - Sojo, Mirrel, Eyn, and Brehen - hope to find and chart something of importance in a vast, nearly unexplored landscape, and bring the knowledge back to make their fortune. This story will be focusing on the people that make, inspire, and ultimately shape the course of an empire's ambitions. It is hosted at https://thecorinthianman.wordpress.com/ and updates Wednesdays.
8 74Into the Feywild
I've never considered myself to be much of a fighter. In fact, I had no notion what it was all about. I couldn't envision a war amongst people, especially my own. In this odd realm, a timid half-elf has little chance of success. Especially with minimal experience. I've only fought as a means of survival, self-defense, if you will. I had known only humans, so the concept of elven culture and family was foreign to me. And yet, here I am, in the midst of a tremendous battle between two Feys and a God. I never planned for things to turn out this way, or for me to get caught in the great shambles of war—a conflict between good and evil. My two companions are practically strangers to me, knowing nothing but my name. This journey was not something I had planned or wished for, but it was what the Gods gave me.◈ ◈ ◈Meli, a young half-elf traveling the Material Plane, is unexpectedly captured while on her travels, only to become a member of an odd group of individuals. Crane, an older wizard castaway from his college for practicing unnatural magic, and Kurky, a youthful and lively gnome who is as fascinating as they come. Meli's curiosity gets the better of her as she chooses to accompany them on their not so concrete journey into the Feywild. Little did they know of the constant war raging within this woodsy plane. Maybe Meli will discover everything she's been looking for, embracing love and pleasure along the way. Or perhaps she'll become a part of something bigger. © Copyright to EmmeMeadows 2021
