Kara walked back into the room, Alex, Eliza, and J'onn with them. Leah shot up, pulling Kara in for a hug, "Oh thank God."

Katie smiled at J'onn, "It's good to see you, sir." J'onn simply smiled, pulling the brunette in for a hug.

J'onn stayed behind with Cat and Max as they fixed the machines. While the rest were in the broadcasting room. Katie's head moved up when Max's voice was in the room, "Myriad works by shutting down the connection between the amygdala and the rostral anterior cingulate cortex. The parts of the human brain that give rise to optimism and hope."

Alex walked into the room, speaking to J'onn, "Under Myriad, I could see, I could hear, but it was like I was a complete stranger to myself. And then my mother said something about my father and it was like a switch went off in my brain. I could suddenly feel again. I could feel hope. And that's what they're gonna give them once Max can kick start the connections."

"If. This equipment's a dinosaur. If I can get her speech on TV and the symbol on computers and phones, I'm even more of a genius than I thought. Okay, we're ready."

Eliza gave Kara a small pat on her back, giving a nod to Leah and Katie, "They're ready."

Katie, Leah, and Kara all glanced at each other from their seats, then looked over at Max, "In three, two..."

"People of National City. This is Supergirl."

"Captain Marvel."

"And Solar Flare. And I hope you can hear me. We have been attacked. Mothers and fathers, friends and neighbors, children, everyone, suddenly stopped by a force of evil as great as this world has ever known."

"Your attacker has sought to take your free will, your individuality, your spirit. Everything that makes you who you are. When facing an attack like this, it's easy to feel hopeless. We retreat, we lose our strength, lose our self."

"I know. I lost everything when I was young. When I first landed on this planet, I was sad and alone. But I found out that there is so much love in this world out there for the taking, and you, the people of National City, you helped me. You let me be who I'm meant to be. You gave me back to myself. You made me stronger than I ever thought possible, and I love you for that."

"Now, in each and every one of you, there is a light, a spirit, that cannot be snuffed out. That won't give up. We need your help again. We need you to hope."

"Hope. That you will remember that you can all be heroes."

"Hope. That when faced with an enemy determined to destroy your spirit, you will fight back and thrive."

"Hope. That those who once may have shunned you will, in a moment of crisis, come to your aid."

"Hope. That you will see again the faces of those you love and perhaps even those you have lost." Katie, Kara, and Leah held each other's hands on the table, holding them tightly. Everyone's cell phones began to ring.

Alex pushed open the door, "It's working. It worked."

🎆~🎆~🎆~🎆~🎆

Katie, Leah, and Kara had stayed with each other all night, they walked together back into CatCo. Leah turned around when she heard the sound of Winn call out to her.

"Leah!"

"Kara! Katie, hey."

Winn grabbed Leah by her waist and twirled her, giving her a kiss, "Thank God you're okay."

"I should be saying that to you." Leah breathes out, holding him tighter.

Winn pulls away from her, looking at the three, "Hey, listen, um... Just the things that we said to you guys..."

James saved him, "What he's trying to say is that we're sorry."

"It wasn't even you." Katie smiles up at them, "This is you." They had a group hug, all so happy to be with each other.

"Um, and thanks, you know, for saving our lives."

The girls chuckle, but then they see Kelly's desk and their expression's drop. James noticed and quickly spoke, "Hey, nobody could have saved all seven of us."

"Well, the DEO is working to find Non and Indigo, and when they do, they'll pay for what they did."

"Yeah." James breaths out, "I'm just happy that you guys are safe and the five of us are back together."

Kara gives him a smile, "Me too."

"But I think we should talk about that thing that happened, uh, right before Myriad struck."

"The thing," Kara repeats not fully understanding him.

James leaned against her desk, "Yeah, the thing thing."

Kara gasps, "The thing."

"Hmm."

Winn looks between them, "Oh, this thing has nothing to do with the three of us. All good. I've got other things."

Katie smiled at them, "Leah, you think you can grab us some coffee? I need to get back to work before Ms. Grant yells at me."

Leah laughed at her, "Alright, alright. Winn, you want your favorite?"

"Yes, please."

Katie sat next to him, waiting a good few minutes before speaking, "So what you texted me this morning-"

Winn pulled it out from his desk drawer, "I had the box lined with lead." He admitted, "But-"

"Oh my God!" Katie had to cover her mouth, "You should ask Miss Grant."

Winn blinked a few times at her, "W-what? Ask-ask her what?"

"If you can have permission, you know, since Leah's father is trying to kill us, Miss Grant is her mother so-"

"She'll say no." Winn deadpans, "She-she'll be against it. She'll-"

"Be against what?" Cat questions holding her latter and squinting down at him, "I heard my name from a mile away. What is it?"

Katie looked at Winn, but noticed how he hid the box, "He has something to ask you, Miss Grant."

"If it's a raise-"

Katie nudged him, "No, Miss Grant, it's not. Winn."

"Let me see it first."

"What?"

"The ring." Cat replies bluntly, "Let me see, only the best is suitable for my daughter." Winn stumbled with the box, but Cat grabbed it from him. She popped it open, her eyes widening, "How on Earth did you afford this?"

"It-"

"Is that mom's ring?" Katie questions, looking at it.

"Y-yeah." He scratched the back of his head, "I know that you'd probably want-"

"No, Winn." Katie held her brother's hand, "Ask Leah with it. She's family."

Cat tossed it back in his hands, "It's suitable." She then leaned in his face, "But if you ever, ever hurt my daughter, you won't just have me to deal with, you'll have her."

"Y-yes, Miss-Miss Grant." Winn stuttered, sucking his head in.

Cat sauntered off, as Katie laughed in amusement, "I think she knows you know about Leah."

"Yeah." Winn sucked in his breath, "I don't know who I'm more afraid of her or Leah."

"Both." Katie stuffed her hands in her pockets, "When are you going to ask her?"

"Once I'm certain Non and Indigo are stopped. I'd like to be alive for my wedding."

"Then keep that hidden." Katie pointed at the box, "When Leah gets back tell her I went to the DEO, I think Kara might have already left. Make sure Leah stays with you."

"Why?"

"You two haven't seen each other for how long?" Katie questions walking to the elevator, "You need to live, we might die tomorrow."

"You're very optimistic!" Winn yells out as the elevator door closes.

🎆~🎆~🎆~🎆~🎆

Katie walked into the DEO, she nodded at Lucy, then found Alex and Kara with Eliza, "Did I interrupt something important?"

"We just told mom that our Dad is still alive." Alex states, making Katie open her mouth in an 'o'.

"Well, isn't this a Hallmark moment?"

Katie rolled her eyes, turning to Max, "Don't you have someplace better to be? Like at Lord Tech? Helping your employees get through what just happened?"

"That's what corporate shrinks on retainer are for. Me, I'm more worried about what's still happening."

"Still happening?" Kara questions, "No one's mind is being controlled."

"True. But I went to see how much damage the Kryptonians had done to my LTE network and I found out that since we ended their mind control, the Myriad wave has been amplified ten-fold and is rising exponentially."

"Amplified?" Eliza asks, "To what end?"

"Emergency rooms all over the city have been filled with people complaining about headaches. They're from Myriad, which, by my calculations, will continue to amplify until pop goes the cranium. The Kryptonians couldn't control us, so instead, they're going to kill us. All of us."

"Damnit, and Winn wanted to propose."

"He what?" Alex and Kara question, turning their head to Katie.

Katie scratched the back of her head, "Yeah..."

🎆~🎆~🎆

"The Kryptonians were using Myriad for mind control because the frequency penetrates neural tissue. Now, they're increasing the frequency. Exponentially. We're talking terahertz jumps. That's like using an Uzi on a mosquito."

"And we're the mosquito."

"Once the wave reaches its full potential, the electromagnetic energy will create enough pressure to-"

"Kill every human on the planet." Katie finishes with a loud sigh.

Kara looks at her, "I need to tell James, Winn, and Leah."

"Let's not get our cape in a bunch."

"He's right." Lucy sighs, "Telling them wouldn't do us any good right now."

"How long do we have?"

"Four hours." Max replies, "I usually love a good countdown, but this is bad. This is really bad."

"Think you can find the source so we can shut it down?"

"You're lucky I work well under pressure."

"Ma'ams, you're needed in the armory."

"Find the source."

Katie grabbed her phone, she texted Winn, 'Ask her. You have four hours to.' With that sent, she followed Kara into the room.

🎆~🎆~🎆~🎆~🎆

Winn kept fumbling with the box, waiting for Leah to walk through the door. He had asked Miss Grant personally if he could be alone in the office. Leah pushed the doors open, "Winn, my mom said you were waiting..." Her voice trailed off when she saw Winn on his knees, "Winn..."

Winn opened the small box slowly, feeling extremely nervous as he looked up at her astonished expression, "Uh-s-so, I know we haven't been together for that long... But uh, yesterday, when I almost died. I could only think about what my life could have been. And I don't want to grow old without you by my side. I love you, Leah Grant, Ka-El of Krypton. A-and I want to spend the rest of my life with you and only you. You are everything to me. If I die today, or if I die tomorrow. I want you to know that you are the love of my life, and-I-I'm sweating so much right now." He laughs nervously, as Leah covers her mouth, tears in her eyes, letting herself giggle at his nervousness, "Will you, Leah Grant, be the woman I spend my life with in holy matrimony?"

Leah wrapped her arms around him, releasing sobs and laughs, "Do you even need an answer!" She pulled him in for a kiss, "Yes!"
