《Life of SuperGirl》Friends pt 2

When the three kids had arrived at the mountain they explained the encounter with the other four members.
"And the point... " Superboy asked.
"The point Conner...is that ...she wasn't herself. She was controlled! Her eyes aren't red, and trust me. Attacking civilians in broad daylight is not her style!" SuperGirl argued.
"Kara...with all due respect...Killer Frost is a villain. They act ruthlessly, this was probably just your eyes messing with you." Kaldur said.
Kara clenched her fists.
"NO! This wasn't her!" She yelled startling then.
"Calm down Kara...we're not saying we don't trust you...it's just a hard thing to believe." Artemiz said.
"Why? Because she's a villain?" Kara snapped.
"Um yea. Have you not noticed what we do here?" Conner shot back stepping forward.
"You all don't understand. I've fought Killer Frost a lot. This...wasn't normal. She warned me..." Kara said calmly looking down.
"Warned you?" Kaldur repeated
"Whoever mind controlled her..she said they are after me. She said her master told her that I would be coming." Kara said
"Probably a dumb trick. Another villain trick." Wally said.
"Not you too!" Kara said.
Kara turned to the speedster.
"Wally, you've fought her. You know this wasn't her style of...attack." She pleaded.
Wally looked down and thought, "true. It wasn't like her. But I've seen many villains change there style. One example, Lex Luthor."
Kara crossed her arms across her chest and pouted.
"Whatever...guess I'm the only hero here who can read the lines." She said.
"I'm sure it's just a matter of perspective Kara. You've battled more Villians than all of us probably." Meagen said.
Kara rolled her eyes.
"Come on Kara...you cant really think...well...I guess it's a possibility." Dick said.
"Kara!" A voice boomed causing all the teens to turn around.
Superman was flying toward them. They all could tell he was not happy.

Kara flew up and stared at her cousin.
"Yes?" She asked.
"Why did you disobey orders?" He asked.
"Why do you care?" Kara snapped.
She was in a bad mood. But she didn't know why.
"Don't take that with me! It's a question! Killer told me what she told you. Then she screamed in pain. How's she in the meta hospital." Superman Said.
Kara rolled her eyes and fell to the floor landing on her feet.
"Mkay. Look. I have something to do." She said.
"Well to bad..cause your staying here." Superman ordered.
Now Kara went pale. Wally and Dick shared a nervous glance. They knew Kara long enough to know, being locked up was something that ticked her off.
"Excuse me?" Kara hissed.
"I know you don't like the idea..but safety reasons." Superman said floating down infront of her.
"No way. I don't know if you know Clark, but I am not in a good mood right now." Kara snapped.
She turned from her cousin and supersped out the room.
"KARA!" Dick and Clark yelled.
"Uhhh...teenage girls..." Clark groaned.
"Ehm." Artemiz said.
Clark shook his head and sighed.
"So...Kara wasn't lying...Killer was..different?" Conner asked.
Clark nodded.
"Oh no..." Wally muttered.
"We'll finds her Clark." Kaldur said.
Clark nodded and flew off.
"We owe her an apology." Meagen said.
"I'm going after her." Dick said.
Wally grabbed his hand stopping him.
"No way. Kara is not in a good place. We know that better than anyone what could happen. Plus, she's probably meeting Roy. He was able to calm her down, because he was so stubborn." Wally told the younger boy.
Dick looked down and nodded.
Kara was flying to Star City. She sat down on a rooftop edge. She always waited here. For her friend. For the Red Arrow.
"Hey." A stern voice called.

Without turning Kara muttered a hello. The boy took steps forward and sat down beside her.
"Your tense." He said.
"No I'm not. I'm..pissed off...but I don't know why!" Kara growled.
"Exactly. So your body is tense. Human bodies do the same thing." He said.
"But I'm not human. Roy..I don't know what's wrong with me." Kara complained
"First off, you have a lot on your plate. The team, school, your cousin, and I'm guessing something else." Roy said.
Kara looked at him confused.
"Anything weird happened today?" Roy asked.
Kara blinked and explained the fight with Killer Frost.
"Anything else?" Roy pushed.
Kara went silent and thought.
"Well, during a meet up with Dick and Wally. Those two were talking. I was looking at Wally Do an impression of Dick, but I found my self looking at Dick. I felt this weird feeling. Like...like..." Kara said.
"Like your heart was flying?" Roy asked.
Kara nodded.
"It's a feeling..you have a crush on Boy Wonder." Roy smirked.
"W-What? Dick is my friend! That would...ruin our friendship!" Kara said.
But she felt her face heat up.
"Your an idiot sometimes." Roy laughed.
"Meet with us three...on Friday?" Kara asked hopefully to change the subject.
"Sure...at..Jitters?" Roy asked looking at the outline of Central City, or the neighbor of Star City.
"Mhmm" Kara nodded.
"I'll be there. But...you have a crush on Dick Grayson." Roy said.
"I-I!"Kara stuttered. The girl went pale.
"Haha! You do! Don't deny it!" Roy laughed.
"Ugh...." the alien groaned.
"It's normal. And trust me. Take it slow." He advised standing up.
"Bye. Cya Friday." Kara waved lifting herself off the ground.
Roy waved and then Kara flew off. Kara replayed what Roy had said to her.
Kara smiled slightly. She did like him. But she also didn't want to ruin their friendship.
Kara flew into the cave and landed. She walked into the living room, and was tackled by all her friends.
"We are incredibly sorry for not trusting you Kara." Kaldur said once everyone gave her space to breathe.
"It's fine...I just...I have to get back home." Kara said.
"Can I ask a question?" Artemiz said.
"You just did...but ya." Kara said raising an eyebrow.
"We know your name. We know Dicks Name. And we know your superhero name. But yet we don't know your last names...or where you live. Or anything else! How come?" Artemiz said.
Kara and Dick shared a glance.
"It's because those two are-er..were the sidekicks of Superman and Batman. Those two won't allow Boy wonder and Girl of Steel to reveal much, in case it falls into the wrong hand, these two can be used against the whole league." Wally explained.
"But how about you? Your Flash's protégé yet we know who you are. Wally West." Meagan pointed out.
"Wally is a different...occasion. We have more... deeper connections than Flash and Kid Flash." Dick said.
"We can't say no more..:or else our heads will be on silver platters served to the league." Kara added.
Conner shook his head and waved a goodbye.
"Hold up Kara. I'll come with you." Dick said walking beside her.
"I live more than 20 hours away..." Kara said confused.
"Yea..but...I don't know...I just...uhhh.." Dick said leaving Kara even more confused.
"Never mind...later. Have fun at school." Dick said jumping on his motorcycle.
Kara waved and flew to the Kent Farm. She walked in and ran to her room and changed putting on her wig and glasses.
"Kara! Dinner!" Martha Kent called.
"Coming Ma!"

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. They found us to be selfish, wasteful, impulsive, and boorish neighbors. Earth was blockaded and our collective encounter with our extrasolar neighbors rapidly faded from memory. All they left behind was a hypercomm relay and a handful of subscriptions to a massively multiplayer game that participants played in their sleep. The Consensus said that it would let us interact with our neighbors in a controlled setting. That it would teach us to be better members of the galactic community. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke. Magic, supernatural abilities and rumors exploded from nothing and a subscription to The Tower of Somnus became a status symbol. Katherine ‘Kat’ Debs doesn’t have much, but it could be worse. Born in an arcology, she was assigned a job in the megacorporation that raised her almost as soon as she could work. Despite the stability of her corporate life, she wanted something more. A chance to claw her way up the rigid social and financial ladder to make something of herself. A chance that wouldn’t come naturally to someone as familiar with dark alleyways and the glint of steel as she was with office work and corporate niceties.Book One is up on Kindle Unlimited as of 7/6/22 - https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B0B2X3L8H5

He asks and I nod my head once again. He chuckles, "Ya head hurt?" I nod again but stop as he laughs softly, "I-I mean.. no.. it doesn't." My cheeks burn red as I look at my shoes, "I-It doesn't hurt.." I repeat like a dummy and listen to him clear his throat, "So do you actually live there or was it bull?" He puts his box down before walking over to one of the grey bins. I nosily watch as he pulls out a big grey sweatshirt, "Here." He holds it out for me to take and I stare at him with wide eyes, "F-For me?" I hesitantly grab the soft fabric as he chuckles, "Nah for ya mom."
