《Supergirl》Chapter 25

Walking to lunch Friday I couldn't help, but smile. A couple days ago Richard Grayson had asked me to the Winter Formal which was in two weeks! I was more than excited to go with him.
I sat down at my usual spot which was a table with Johnny, Rick and Raven. Today Johnny and Rick hadn't come so it was just Raven and I.
"Has Rick asked you to the dance yet?" She asked looking down at her iPhone.
"Yeah, he asked me a couple days ago, why?" I questioned saying each word slowly.
"Last week he said he was going to ask you." she stated simply with a shrug. All the sudden she looked at me and smiled widely. "Can I help you pick out your dress?!"
She exclaimed excitedly.
"Sure, but it has to be red." I said and she nodded. "So you have a girly side, eh." she glared at me and I chuckled continuing to eat my grilled cheese.
Since neither of us usually talked we just went on our phones the whole time. The bell rang and I got up slinging my bag over my shoulder.
"This Sunday we're going to the mall!" She called out at me and I nodded in agreement. I was walking to my locker when I ran into someone. Looking up I saw Rick. I smiled at him and he returned my smile.
"Hey ba- Chris." he greeted catching himself before letting "babe" slide. I chuckled at him and he flushed red.
"Well I've got to get to class. Bye babe." I said walking away smirking as I turned the corner to look back at him and saw his face with surprise written all over it.

Walking up to my doorstep I opened my front door ready to tell my parents about the dance. I had been nervous about telling my dad so I waited, but now I was ready.

"Mom... Dad!" I called out dropping my bag on the ground. The living room had a light on in it which was probably the TV so I walked into the living room. I thought I would see my dad watching it or something, but what I saw shocked me.
My dad was lying on the ground with a piece of kryptonite beside him.
"Dad!" I yelled not moving because I couldn't get close to
kryptonite. I heard a muffled voice beside me and I turned to see my mom tied up with her mouth taped up. I ran up to her pulling off the tape.
"I'll get it." she said running up to my dad. She picked up the rock ran over to a cupboard pulling out a lead box and putting it inside. I was still in shock from what had just happened. One thing stood out to me. Joker did this.
Running upstairs I changed into my suit and my mask. Flying out of my window I dialed Rick with my Bluetooth.
"Hello?" He answered breathing heavily.
"Rick I need to find the Joker!" I exclaimed stopping on a rooftop.
"Well join the club. I've was chasing him, but I lost him a couple minutes ago." he answered still breathing heavily. "Why do want to find him?" He asked.
"He was at my house and he almost killed my dad!" I practically yelled letting out a shaky breath.
Don't cry Chris! Don't cry!
"Chris it's gonna be alright" Rick cooed.
"No, I'm fine just meet me on our rooftop." I replied in a determined tone.
"I think I know where he went, meet you there."
He hung up and I flew towards the rooftop. After a few minutes he used his grapple hook to come up on the roof.
"So where do you think he is?" I questioned anxious to get the answer.

"I think his headquarters is at the Gotham Fair fun house."
The Gotham Fair used to be the event of the year. I went once when I was eight, but I was to afraid to go inside the fun house.
We went towards the fair grounds. Me flying and Rick on his blue and black motorcycle. I landed in front of the abandoned fun house.
"This is where I wish I had X-Ray vision." I mumbled and he chuckled. We slowly advance toward the entrance ready for anything. Right before we got inside a group of about five men ran towards us. I knocked them out with one punch each, but I still let Rick take two.
We entered the fun house which was empty.
"Are you sure he's here?" I whispered to Rick.
"I've been suspecting this place for awhile." Rick whispered back. We walked around for awhile not hearing or seeing anything.
"Where do think they are?" I whispered, but got no answer. I thought to use his superhero name incase anyone was listening. "NightWing? NightWing?!" I hissed looking around. I looked behind me to see Rick with a knife to his throat. "NightWing!" I screamed and the Joker just laughed his mechanical laugh.
"You know I thought you wouldn't care about this bird after he told you what he was gonna do." Joker said with a genuinely surprised look. I stared at him confused.
"Don't listen to him!" Rick exclaimed, but Joker put the knife closer to his throat.
"What?" Joker said confused. "You never told her our deal?"
"What deal?" I asked and Rick closed his eyes exhaling slowly. The Joker shook his head in fake disappointment at Rick.
"How dare he not tell you are deal! He said he would kill your father and I would never touch Gotham again in return! But as you can see he failed to comply."
"You made a deal with him to kill my dad?" I whispered in shock.
"I didn't say anything!" Rick choked out. Rick looked at me with wide pleading eyes. Something in his eyes made me believe him. I wasn't sure what, but I knew he was telling the truth.
"Would you like me to kill him for you?" Joker asked raising his eyebrows. Obviously he hadn't seen our little conversation just now. I decided to just play along.
"He broke my heart. So I want you to break his." I said trying to sound hurt. As Joker swung the knife back and Rick looked at me in shock I used my heat vision to melt the knife. As the knife got hot Joker dropped it with a shriek and I punched him out cold.
"I thought you were really gonna kill me." Rick whispered with a pale face. I laughed lightly and hugged him tightly.
"What are we gonna do about him knowing my identity?" I asked looking at the unconscious maniac lying on the ground.
"I could probably get Miss Martian to brain wash him of the last month." he answered putting his arm around me. "We better look around the rest of the building."
I smiled at the green eyed masked vigilante standing beside me with disheveled black hair. It was definitely safe to say that he was one of the hottest guys I ever met and that I have never liked a guy the way I like Rick. The one thing I can admit was that he also liked me the same way.
