《Supergirl》Chapter 21

I was getting ready for school slipping on my plaid kilt. It was Monday and I had no intention of going to school.
"Hey Chris!" My dad yelled from downstairs.
"Yeah?" I replied walking out of my bedroom.
"You might want to see this." he informed me. I went downstairs into our living room to see what my dad wanted.
"It's Liz." my mom said hands on her hips. The picture was Liz in her cell at Belle Reve. I listened to the reporter on the news and gasped at what I heard.
"The young teenager was found in her cell at Belle Reve with one of her own vines straight through her chest. It has been said that it was suicide, but Hugo Strange thinks otherwise." I tuned out Hugo's interview after that. Why would she do something like that. Commit suicide? I looked at the clock to see it is 7:32.
"I'm gonna be late!" I yelled grabbing my stuff and running out the door. I caught the bus just before it left and sat in an empty seat. I look down at my phone to see Rick didn't reply to my text once again.
Since the day we made up he hasn't texted or talked to me once. It's like he's avoiding me? I promised myself to talk to him today. All the sudden the bus jerks down which insinuated one of the tires popped. I looked out my window and saw that we were on a bridge. Great. I thought to myself. The bus started to go off the road hitting the railing. I bolted out of the bus stopping it from going off the bridge. I grabbed it from the back so no one would see me. I got the bus back in the road and was about to run away when I see a face looking out the back window of the bus. And that face was none other than Johnny Greene.

I quickly walked to my locker and opened it roughly.
"Well somebody didn't wake up on the right side of the bed." I heard a male voice say. I look to my right to see Jake standing there.
"What are you doing here?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"Switched schools. Well I actually got kicked out of my athletic school." he answered shrugging his shoulders. "But why the sour mood?" I grabbed his hand a pulled him into an empty classroom.
"I think Johnny might have found out about my powers." I answered biting my lip.
"WHAT?! My brother Johnny?" Jake yells his eyes going wide.
"I already have told to many people I don't need another." I hissed putting my hand to my forehead. "What if he tells someone?" I continued not knowing what to do. Jake wrapped me in a comforting hug.
"I'll make sure he tells no one." he reassured. I back away, but our faces were inches apart. I've always wanted to kiss Jake. He was my first kiss at twelve, but that was five years ago. The space between us closed and our lips started to move in sync.
I always heard in books that people felt sparks, but I didn't feel anything. No tingles, no sparks. Nothing. The door opened and a teacher walked in.
"This class is for learning. Now get out." he commanded us and we swiftly walked out.
Jake stopped me as we walked down the hallway.
"I've wanted to do that since I was ten." he said sincerely and I laughed. He looked at me confused.
"Good thing we kissed when we were twelve." I said and his eyes widened.
"I totally forgot. We were in the shed." he said probably thinking about the memory.

"I got to get to class." I said not wanting to ruin his moment with me saying I felt nothing. I got to class just before the bell. There was an empty seat beside me and I was about to put my bag on it when someone sat down. Johnny looked at me, but I just looked away and listened to the teacher. Throughout the lecture I just stared ahead not daring to look at Johnny. I could feel his gaze on me.
"Mr. Greene is there a reason you're staring so intently at Ms.Kent?" our teacher Mr.Howard asked making the class erupt in laughter. I thought it would be safe to look at Johnny now and he just look embarrassed. He didn't look at me during the final ten minutes of the lecture which relieved me. The class ended and I quickly got up and gathered my things not wanting to run into Johnny. When I thought I was clear he came up behind me.
"Mind telling how you stopped a bus from falling off a bridge?" Johnny asked raising an eyebrow. I stopped him and pushed him to the side so we could talk.
"You've heard of Superman right?" I questioned him and he nodded leaning against a locker. "Well eighteen years ago Superman had a kid, and I'm Superman's daughter." I said biting my lip and he just looked at me shocked.
"Y-you're Supergirl?" He stuttered and I nodded my head.
"Please you can't tell anyone." I pleaded and he agreed making me sigh in relief.
"Does my brother know?" He asked and I nodded my head looking down. I knew he wouldn't be to impressed by the news of his brother knowing.
"Well I promise I won't tell anyone. Really Chris, I promise. Now I got to get to class." he said walking away.
The rest of the day went on uneventful. I walked home this time to avoid any talk with Johnny. I definitely noticed Rick avoiding me today. He wouldn't even make eye contact with me. I opened the door to my house to be greeted by my parents talking to Jake.
"Oh hey, you're here." Jake said nervously. "Can we talk?" He asked and I agreed. We went up to my room to talk. "I have been wanting to ask you something for awhile." he started obviously still nervous. Out of all the years I knew him he has never been this nervous before.
"Well..." I mumbled and he sighed. How big could this be?
"Will you be my girlfriend?"

Legacy: A wolf's tale
Follow Akascha as she goes from a beast of burden to a lovely (well more like a slightly belligerent) young woman! Note. This is a shory story (about 25.000 words) I wrote a while back in high school. Therefore, the range and depth of the story might be a bit lacking, but I wanted to share it with you anyway now that I discovered RR. Although I would love comments or constructive criticisme (as one can always learn), be aware that I have - at this point in time - no plans of rewriting this story. Thank you and I hope you enjoy! Oh and before I forget! The first chapter is rather short, but the rest of the chapters will make up for it.
