《Supergirl》Chapter 20

When Rick walked away I kinda felt bad for not saying anything else. Jake and I walked in silence for the rest of the time, but it wasn't a uncomfortable silence. I basically ate the whole pack of gummy worms and Jake complained for five minutes. We were just about to turn onto my street when someone knocked me over he head.
"Chris!?" Jake yelled, but that didn't cause me any pain. I stood up surprised at what was happening and grabbed my bag. I always carried my bag everywhere because my mask was in there. I wore my outfit under my clothes. I quickly got my mask on and went at the attackers. Just as I was about to get him he pulled out a blue rock.
"No." I whispered as the man walked toward me holding the blue kryptonite. He threw it at me and I stupidly caught it falling to the ground. After a few seconds I felt normal, but not my normal. I had once come across blue kryptonite and I lost my powers for a day. The man grabbed me by the hair and dragged me into a van Jake not far behind me.
"What does that do to you?" Jake questioned breathing heavily.
"Steals my powers temporarily." I answered shifting to look at him. "I'm sorry I brought you into this." I said my hands throbbing from the rope tied firmly around them.
"I brought myself into this." he replied giving me a small smile. I attempted to sit up, but failed terribly. "You alright?" He asked as I hit my head against the wall.
"Yeah." I lied fighting threw the pain. We just laid there for awhile, I just went over what happened in my head. Wow you did terrible. I thought to myself and it was true. I was taken by surprise. What is super hearing for if I never use it?
The vehicle came it a stop jolting us forward roughly. The van door was threw open and masked men stood there.
"Get up!" a guy yelled picking us up. I got thrown to the ground and brought to my feet.
"Keep moving." the other guy said. He had a deeper voice than the first guy.
"Where do you think we are?" I whispered to Jake who was walking beside me.

"I have no idea." He replied shrugging his shoulders. We turned a corner and walked up to the same warehouse my mom had been taken to.
"I know this place." I whispered nudging him. The two men pushed us inside and something metal hit me over the head making everything go black.
******
I woke up feeling groggy and my vision was blurry. My eyes started to clear up and I noticed I was in the familiar warehouse I had once been captured. It's always a warehouse. I thought to myself. I looked down at myself to notice I was in the same gray jumpsuit I had been in last time. That meant that Joker was behind this. I heard a groan from beside me and looked to see Jake with his hands above his head tied the same way as me.
"Jake?" I whispered.
"Chris? Where are we?" He said groggily. His vision must be blurry.
"We're in a warehouse. Do you remember what happened?" I asked.
"Yes. Are you alright?" He questioned looking at me which probably meant his vision was clearing up.
"I'm fine." I replied looking at my surroundings. There wasn't much in the room except for a table with a laptop on top plugged into the wall and a single lightbulb in the middle of the room.
"Why do you think they did this?" Jake asked.
"I don't know." I answered honestly.
-------------------------------------
'
I flew down the streets of Gotham on my newly painted blue and black motorcycle. After I had gotten that message millions of questions went through my mind.
Does Joker know my identity?
What are they going to do to Chris?
Am I to late?
I drove up to the warehouse that Lois Lane had been in and decided this time to try the front door. I tugged at the handle and it opened with a screech. I took a few steps forward and saw Chris and her "friend" Jake.
"Chris!" I yelled getting her attention. I ran up to her, but was stopped right before I got to her. Since I was running so fast I fell to the ground from the person who stopped me. I look up to see the Joker.
"Come in here!" He hissed walking towards a room. I got up off the ground and swiftly walked towards the room. The room I walked into was tiny with a square table and two chairs. "Have a seat." Joker said motioning to the seat across from him. He had a huge smile on his face which I was getting more and more annoyed of by the second. I took the seat and looked at him waiting to continue. "Do you know the identity of your friend Supergirl?" Joker asked putting his feet on the table while leaning back.

"I wouldn't exactly say 'friend' and no I don't." I answered leaning back in the squeaky chair.
"I see. What do ya say we make a little deal?" Joker asked and I laughed in return.
"I would never make ANY kind of deal with you. I shouldn't even be here." I replied throwing my hands in the air.
"Now calm down Bird Boy. The reward is definitely worth it. At least let me tell you my deal." Joker continued and I nodded in return. "You get close to the super-brat and kill her father. In return I will never touch your precious Gotham again, maybe even turn myself into Arkham." Joker said taking his feet off the table and leaning forward clasping his hands together.
Was he serious? Kill Supergirl's dad? I don't even know her identity! How would I know her father's? I'm not a murderer! I'm the good guy, I save people I don't kill them!
"I-I don't know... How would I know her father when I see him? I don't even know her identity!" I yelled getting up. "I can't do this." I finished getting up. Why was I even considering this.
"You're just confused. You need time to think." Joker said standing up and walking over to me. "I'll give you a couple days to think it over. Just remember if you don't I won't just capture your friend next time." He finished pulling out a blood stained knife and smiling. I looked at him hurt. He can't do this! He must of seen my face because he started that mechanical laugh. I stormed out of the room and walked over to Chris and Jake.
"You guys okay?" I asked untying Chris.
"We're fine. What did he have to say?" Chris asked and I pursed my lips.
"It's fine, I can handle him." I replied untying Jake. Chris obviously didn't buy it, but dropped the subject.
"Chris, how are you doing?" Jake asked giving her a look I couldn't decipher. She purses her lips and he nodded. "I'll see if I can get cell phone service for your dad to pick us up." Jake continued walking off.
"Thank you." Chris said giving me a hug. "That guy gives me the creeps." she continued referring to Joker. I slightly hugged her back and came to notice how familiar this felt, only to remember I hugged her about two hours ago.
"We can wait outside for your dad." I said putting my hand on the small of her back leading her out of the warehouse.
"I still don't understand why he kidnapped me?" She questioned confused. I looked away not making eye contact. This is all my fault. Jake jogged up to us putting his phone in his pocket.
"He'll be here in ten." Jake said to Chris. She nodded and looked at me. "Thanks man." Jake said shaking hands with me. If he knew who I was he probably wouldn't be thanking me. Jake wasn't particularly nice to his brother, nor Johnny's friends.
Chris and Jake walked off toward the city and I made my way to my motorcycle. As I drove home the thing on my mind was that deal. I can't put Chris in danger, but I can't betray Supergirl either. What was I gonna do?

The fool had no idea what he was getting into. The only reason I wanted the Kryptonian dead was because Lex Luthor promised me money. That's how I had gotten the kryptonite. And with Liz dead NightWing will have to do. I hope my black mail had worked because I want that 5 million.
The Bats sidekick is to gullible! He's no fun it's just to easy.
I walked out of the warehouse waiting for the late Harley that will probably get a beating later.
I can already taste the 5 million

One should also note that the Aurora was in flux during that time and some things that were possible in the early days are no longer possible, especially with the advent of the Akashic record. Editors have included footnotes when possible to explain pre-aurora technologies or concepts and how they relate to current magical technologies. The contents of this work may upset readers.
