《Supergirl》Chapter 19

'
Tonight my family including my twin brother were going to the Kents. To say I was excited would be a lie. I had always been jealous of my brother. He had been the perfect child. My parents always talked about him and sent him to the athletic school. I was just there like oh yeah and that's Johnny. It made me so mad to be left out. Like they didn't care about me.
Now he was back to take the spotlight once again.
"Alright Johnny ready to go?" My mother yelled from downstairs.
"Yeah, just a sec." I replied looking at my appearance in the mirror. I had decided to throw on jeans work boots, and a plaid button up shirt. I rolled up the sleeves to give it at least a little style.
I walked out of my room almost running into my twin brother.
"Watch out man." he said laughing. He had on tan jeans with converse and a jean button up unbuttoned with a white v-neck. We weren't identical, but had similar features.
We made our way downstairs and into the car. I threw on my headphones and listened to music while my family talked about my brother's life at his school. I turned up my music to block out their voices. I felt a tap on my shoulder and looked up at my mother. I took off my headphones to see what she wanted.
"We're here." she said and I got out. We walked up to there house and it looked like an everyday house. Red bricks with a black garage. We walked inside greeted by Chris' parents. I saw Chris behind them and she offered me a small smile.
"Hey Kent." I greeted and she smiled.
"'Sup Greene." she replied and I smiled in return. My brother came in last pushing me to the side. Before I could look back I heard.
"Jay?!"
"Chrissy?!"
And so the drama begins as my twin brother Jake sees Chris his childhood crush. I had recognized Chris right away, but she didn't recognize me. When we were little I had a little crush on her, but she never talked to me it was always Jake. So in the end when we moved to Gotham I let it go. My brother really liked her and moving was hard for him. He was totally oblivious when my mom said we were going to the Kents.
Sadly, I was gonna spend my night standing there awkwardly while they catch up. That's how it always is.

"Johnny are you gonna take off your shoes?" My mom asked smiling at how I was just standing there thinking. I walked into the living room to see Jake and Chris talking and laughing and I sat down across from them and took out my phone.

'
I walked up to the door to greet the Greene's and Johnny greeted me with his usual 'Kent' so I replied the same. He was moved out of the way by another guy who was wearing sunglasses. As he took them off there was no mistaking who he was. He looked like the same thirteen year old I had a crush on for years.
"Jay?!" I yelled which was the nickname I had for Jake when we were little.
"Chrissy?!" He yelled using my nickname. I ran up and hugged him and took in the familiar scent. I looked into his chocolate brown eyes and smiled at him.
"It's been like five years." I said and he shook his head.
"Five years to long." he replied hugging me tighter. I looked over at Johnny and he was deep in thought. I lead Jake into our living room and we sat down on the couch. "I didn't know you lived in Gotham." he said to me still smiling.
"I got here about three weeks ago. You never told me you were moving to Gotham when you left." I said pursing my lips. "I really did miss you. Eating gummy worms by myself wasn't the same." I said smiling at the memory of eating gummy worms together. Every time we hung out we always ate gummy worms and now I'm addicted.
"So how is it being Supergirl?" He asked smirking. I looked at him with wide eyes and he just chuckled. "I knew it was you the moment I saw you on TV. I just had no idea why you were in Gotham."
"How did you know it was me?" I questioned raising my eyebrow.
"Let's not forget the incident at the bowling alley." he said still smirking. I faced palmed because I had totally forgotten he knew.
"Well since you wanted to know, it's been good. Interesting at times, but fun." I answered smiling. Just as my thoughts were about to jump back to NightWing my mom interrupted.
"Dinner!" She called and we all walked to the table. As we got up I looked over at Johnny and he looked so bored. Had it always been like this when me and Jake were friends?

I sat across from Jake and beside Johnny. Why hadn't he told me that Jake was his brother?
"Why didn't you tell me?" I whispered speaking my mind.
"I didn't even recognize you." He whispered back, his face filling with guilt. I didn't want to push the matter. Dinner was normal. My family just asked questions about what the Greenes were doing now and Jake talked about his school. Johnny was quiet the whole time eating little of dinner. He looked so bored and out of place.
After dinner Jake walked up to me and took me to the door.
"Hey do you wanna go for a walk like we used to?" Jake asked putting on his converse.
"Sure why not." I said shrugging. "Mom! We're going for a walk." I yelled and she agreed. I threw on some random shoes and grabbed my phone. We walked into the night and down my driveway.
"I had no idea you were in Gotham." he said shaking his head. "I should probably just say that when I was little... I had the biggest crush on you." he said chuckling. "When my parents decided to move I was so mad." he finished.
"I could say the same." I said putting my hands in my pocket. We came up to a variety store and Jake stopped. "Why did you stop?" I asked and he smiled.
"To get some gummy worms." he answered and I smiled too. "Wait here."
I leaned against the wall and saw someone sitting on a bench across the street. He was looking down at his phone typing something. The light of his phone didn't give much light. I could tell he had black hair, but that was it. He put his phone up to his ear waiting tapping his foot. My phone started ringing and I looked at the caller ID.
Rick Grayson
I clicked the answer button and put it up to my ear.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Hey it's Rick. I was wondering. If we could talk. Together somewhere... maybe my house." he said at once obviously nervous.
"I think you should look across the street." I said laughing lightly at the end. He looked up and saw me. He started smiling and ended the call. He crossed the street and put his hands in his pocket.
"H-hey Chris." Rick greeted. He took his hands out of his pockets and swiftly walked toward me. He engulfed me in a hug which took me by surprise. "I'm so sorry." he said genuinely.
"No, no. It's my fault, I'm sorry." I replied hugging him back.
"I couldn't stand avoiding you any longer." Rick continued backing away. I looked in the variety store window and Jake was on his way out.
"I'm just glad we have it cleared up." I said giving him a small smile. Jake walked out popping gummy worms in his mouth.
"Hey who's this." Jake asked swallowing.
"Oh Jake this is Rick. Rick this is my childhood friend Jake." I said to them both smiling.
"Hey nice to meet you." Jake greeted shaking his hand lightly. Jake ate another gummy worm like he didn't have a care in the world.
"Yeah, uh, hey." Rick greeted awkwardly not returning the shake. "We've met before." Rick continued scratching the back of his neck. Why was he so uncomfortable?
"Really?" I said surprised.
"I went to Johnny's house and met Jake." Rick continued pursing his lips. We stood there awkwardly for about another ten seconds. I was about to break the silence when someone else did.
"Well we better continue our walk Chris." Jake suggested and I shook my head.
"Yeah and I want some of those gummy worms." I replied trying to lighten the mood. We continued to walk and talk about past things we had done together. It was so nice to be with my childhood friend again.
-------------------------------------
'
I knew Jake had a crush on Chris. He has liked her for years. I still sorta liked Chris, but seeing her with Jake kinda made me jealous. That's why I felt so nervous around them and awkward.
I made my way back to the mansion and walked up the large swirling staircase. As I walked into my room and closed my door I just wanted to go to bed.
My NightWing watch vibrated on my dresser and I picked it up to see what the message read.
Come to the warehouse or she's dead:)
Someone must if hacked my watch! I went back to see the contact number or name and it was none other than. Mr.J

The Limits of Limitless
Author's Note: So, new author here, nice to meet you from this lovely one sided conversation lol. I was so tired of waiting for the perfect story for me so I decided to write a few of my own. These are basically just to make me happy, but if you enjoy them too that would make me happy as well lol. ______________________________________________________________________________________ So once upon a time, there was a convienent, and slightly cliche, plot device used by a somewhat lazy author.... Which in turn, created an easily made story of how a lucky high schooler posing as a hardcore gamer dies only to resurrect in a fantasy reality, meeting beautiful women, powerful dragons and ancient beings, an assortment of insanely escentric fellows, and a certain over powered ring. Journey with them as they explore the wilderness of twisted imagination. Or for you old timey folk who like their synopsis a bit tame, here you go: Jason, a senor in highschool, is slowly failing school due to not giving a fuck. Like many people now in the year 3056, he is obsessed with the wonderful invention most lovingly called, 'True Virtual Realities'. now by using his obsession with his favorite Virtual Reality game called 'Reality Controlled', which is the first and so called best Virtual Reality ever made. it was basically the all around escape humanity wished for, and he with heaven defying luck came across one of the three cheat items the game developers left for themselves: The Limitless Ring. The ring was a support type item and had the ability to grant wishes, store worlds, clone items, grant skills and easily learn abilities. But those are just a few of the things it could do. Using the ring he successfully became the "best player" and had a herd of fans following him everywhere. It was a dream come true. Until, he was killed from a power surge that fried his brain which was hooked up to the Nerve Capsule, an unsafe prototype of the Dive gear that he bought do to low funds. The end. Or so you would think.... ______________________________________________________________________________________ Author's Note: I was, to be honest, wanting to do a collab, because to me it is sooooooo incredibly boring to write by yourself since you always know what happens next, however no one enjoys a bit of friendly cooperation *sigh* so I'm forced to journey these roads alone.... 'Tis but a sad fate tha' 'is here young'un has t' bear. The cover isn't mine, all rights and stuff goes to its artist and such.

Fall of Jupiter
What happens when the most powerful man in the world loses his soulmate to a heart attack? What happens when an innocent woman is dragged into a world of magic, and superheroes? Who is the true hero of the story? Note: This is the first book I ever wrote seriously. (I even had a cover made before I decided against publishing it) I'd like to think my writing style has improved with practice, and the multiple other books I've worked on. It felt wrong to leave a nearly completed book gathering dust in my google docs, but I don't think it's good enough to be officially published. As a result, I'm putting it here instead where it at least won't be totally wasted. Eventually, I'll put in the last 10 hours or so to finish it for you guys. Hope you like it :)

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
