《Supergirl》Chapter 8

Saturday had been interesting. Dillon, Johnny, and I had gone to the mall. While at the food court they wouldn't stop bothering me about Chris. Actually it was more Johnny, Dillon had been pretty quiet.
"You so like her." Johnny said laughing a very annoying laugh.
"No, now shut up man." I said rolling my eyes. This guy was literally starting to sound like a broken record.
"You're a TERRIBLE liar!" Johnny taunted.
"Fine maybe a little." I caved breaking eye contact, making Johnny smirk triumphantly.
"Are you guys done?" Dillon whined. We both chuckled and got up to leave.
We decided to go to the movie theaters and see some movie. I forget the name something like the Blaze Runner? I forget. We were late so we had to sit at the back.
The movie finally ended with a stupid ending, but who am I to complain. We made our way out of the theater to see Chris and some random guy who had his arm around her. I could get mumbling, but couldn't make out anything.
"Hey Chris." I interrupted whatever she was saying. She turned to me and her eyes went wide.
"Hey Rick." she replied with an awkward smile. She pushed the guys arm off her shoulder and the guy just walked away with his friend. She looked really nervous.
"Who was that?" I asked trying to sound normal.
"Are you her mother?" Her friend Liz I think questioned. Walking up to Chris pulling her away. Chris just put on an apologetic smile making me shake my head. Who the heck was he? I didn't think she had a boyfriend.
"I gotta go guys." I told Dillon, and Johnny walking away.
It was around five so I decided to put on my suit and patrol since it was already getting dark out. I put on the red and green suit. I really got to change it. I was already drawing up a design. It is black with a little blue. I was still trying to think of a name though.

"Robin, there's some trouble on Lunenburg Drive." Bruce said through my comlink.
"I'm on my way." I answered getting on my red motorcycle. I got to the address just to see a couple guys loading a truck.
"Sorry fellas, but I'm gonna need to take that." I said scaring them. They all looked at me and I smirked back at them. Two of them charged me, but I easily took one down and started fighting the other one who had knife. I heard a gun load, but I couldn't move. I heard a gun shot, but it never hit me. I look up to see that girl again, but this time with a mask.

"Dad, c'mon I'm gonna get recognized." I said shaking his shoulder.
"No one ever recognized me! Well, except your mother, but that's different."
"People are so gonna recognize me! There are weirdos who dedicate their life to figure out what our identities are."
Dad seemed to be contemplating this and still looked unconvinced.
"I just don't like it. I've never worn a mask and neither did Kara. I just don't think you should either." He then looked over at me and studied me for a second.
"If you want to then I guess we can't try it." He said nodding and I hugged him.
"Thank you! I know you have a mask hidden upstairs!"
"Wh-what? How did you know that?"
"I might no have x-ray vision, but you're terrible at keeping secrets."
***************
I had gotten in the way of that bullet just in time. Robin looked up at me with relief. I punched out the guy holding him and helped him up.
"Hey gorgeous why did you cover up those pretty eyes?" He asked making me give him a look of disgust. I had finally gotten my dad to let me wear one.

We started taking all the guys out helping each other along the way. I have to say we make a pretty good team. We got down to the last guy with Robin grabbed him by the collar.
"What is in that truck?" he hissed at the man.
"Why don't you go look and see." the man replied smirking. I walked over to the truck and looked inside. It was full of cans, but they were too rusty to read.
All the sudden beeping starts.
"Watch out!" Robin yells grabbing me just as an explosion went off. He used his grapple hook and we landed on a roof top. I was about to fly away and go home when I felt a hand in my shoulder.
"You're welcome?" He said.
"You didn't seem to be thankful when I saved your life. And plus that wouldn't have done anything to me." I replied glaring at him.
"Well I'm sorry for trying to be helpful!" He yelled.
"Yeah! You're so helpful you let the last guy get away!" I yelled back scowling at him.
"You started it!" He was almost screaming. I was gonna lose it. I don't even know why I just hated his guts for no reason.
"YOU'RE SUCH A CHILD!" I screamed flying away. I took a detour one, to clear my thoughts, and two, to make sure he didn't follow me.
I finally got home and started to run upstairs quickly.
"How did it go Chris?" My dad asked smiling.
"Fine." I said putting on a fake smile. I really need to stop doing that.
I started to do the rest of my homework after I got into shorts and a tank top.
My phone buzzed. I looked at it and it read,
Brilliant work tonight.
I looked up at the contact name and it showed a weird name. It said.... Mr.J.
