《Supergirl》Chapter 3

The rest of Advanced Functions was pretty boring. Our teacher taught us stuff we pretty much already knew and would scan the class like she was looking for someone. She always kept smiling. She had this big smile on.
"Miss. Kent?"
"Huh?" I ask confused.
"Do you know the answer to the question?" Miss. Quinzell asked me.
"What was the question again?" I ask grimacing at my own question.
She sighs "I asked you if you knew the Pythagorean Theorem? This isn't kindergarten." she stated laughing. By the way that is like the most annoying laugh on the planet. "Well?"
"Ummmm... "a" squared plus "b" squared equals "c" squared." I answer sighing.
"Yes. Thank you for your consideration in listening to my lesson." she says rolling her eyes. Wow she has sass. Finally the bell rings bringing me out of my misery.
-------------------------------------
I was waiting by the sidewalk because my mom said she was going to pick me up. It has been 15 minutes and I was getting annoyed. It was no surprise, my mom was always rushing.
"Are you gonna get in or just stand there thinking?" My mom asked irritated.
"Oh, I didn't even notice you there." I said a bit confused on how I didn't even notice her pull up.
"So how was your first day?" She asked driving out of the parking lot. I really need my own license.
"Good. I knew most of the stuff they taught me." I reply
"Chris, it's the first day of school. I didn't expect much." she says laughing. "Meet anyone?"
"I met a girl named Liz and a guy named Rick. Plus his annoying friend Johnny." I said.
"Someone was friendly today." She said smiling making me shake my head.

"There was this one teacher though. She was a bit weird and annoying." I said
"That's weird." my mom said clearly not understanding what I said.
We got home and walked into the house. We ate dinner talked about our days and then I did homework.
I fell to sleep kinda excited for tomorrow.
----------------------------------------------
It was gym and I was excited to show off. I know it was prideful, but I was ready.
"Ok guys we're gonna play some classic dodge ball." our gym coach said. All the girls groan and the guys cheer. "Okay I need team captains." she said. Why is everyone is this school confirming every stereotype? It's worse than Glee.
"I'll be one." Rick said and all the guys immediately start asking Rick to pick them.
"Me too." I said smiling knowing I can kick this kids butt. No one cheered except Liz and she quickly stopped when everyone stared at her.
"Okay ladies first." our gym coach said. Finally someone with some class. We finally chose all our teammates and we get to our sides.
"Go!"
Chaos happens. I decide to stay off at the side until the end and wait. Hopefully everyone will underestimate the new girl.
What! All my guys are out, wow they were helpful. It was just me left so I walked into the middle. Johnny, a guy- who I think is named Dillon, and Rick were left, great. Dillon throws the ball at me and I catch it easily. My team starts taunting Dillon. Johnny throws the ball at me but I couldn't reach it so I dodge it.
Now both of them were on my side. I pick the dodge balls up and aim at Johnny he dodges the first one and the second one hits him square in the face making him fall down. I burst out laughing with the rest of my team although some girls gave me dirty looks. Stereotypes, do I get an eye roll?

"Bring it on." Rick said making me smirk. The dodge balls had rolled back to my side so I start throwing them at him. He dodged them so easily. Now they were on his side, he picks them up and throws one at me softly so I tried to catch it. I didn't want to jump afraid I would start to fly in all the intensity. I was just about to catch it when the other ball hits my stomach hard.
I fall to my knees because the wind had been knocked out of me. Rick walks up to me and gives me his hand.
"That is like the easiest trick in the book!" he says
"Wow you know how to make someone feel better." I replied sarcastically making him chuckle.
"Hey Rick, you did really good." I girl said smiling a little to hard. She had blonde hair in a pony tail and was caked in make-up. This was the definition of cliché. Like a bad boy straddling a motorcycle cliché.
"Thanks Brooke." he said smiling, kinda making me jealous. Why, I don't even like him. I met him yesterday are you stupid Chris.
"Chris?" Rich said waving a hand in front of my face.
"Huh?" I said confused. He started to laugh. "What?" I asked.
"You were obviously jealous." he said smirking.
"No I wasn't!" I exclaimed. Is he a mind reader?
"Sure." he said making me fume. "I have this effect on ladies."
"If making them double over in pain is your definition of having an effect on them, you really need to re-think it." The bell went off and has saved me again.
"Ahhh your lucky this time, but the bell can't always save you." he said smiling. He's so full of himself.
-------------------------------------
I had ridden the bus home this time and I sat with Liz. She is so fun we sorta talked about well... everything. She's an only child and lives with her mom. Her hair is naturally blonde, but she likes red.
I was so tired when I got home that I just did homework and went to bed.
I went to sleep smiling because tomorrow was my seventeenth birthday!

Silver, Sand, and Silken Wings
In the opinion of the common storyteller, Sylph did not exist. Frustrated and deceived by her mothers hiding the truth of her parentage, young dragoness Sylph heads out looking for answers along with a childhood friend, a young human alchemist. From the sky high walls of Carthia, through the winding, lively streets of Halfhill, her journey leads her all the way up north to the picturesque nightmare of snow where she hatched. And yet, the answers lie buried in the desert sand on the other side of the continent. In a world of cruel slave traders and a ruthless, self-proclaimed queen, Sylph uncovers the answers she seeks and realizes her grave mistake of ever leaving home. A singular misstep in the hostile city means death, or worse, and the guards are hot on her haunches after blundering her way through the gates. The draft for this work is finished. I am editing the chapters and putting them up. Updates every 14 days because I am tangled up in work.
8 236The Foretold: Sun Child (Complete)
As a sixteen year old commoner, your future is bleak. Worse, your appearance sets you apart from others. Your only achievement so far, is befriending the second son of the Lord of the Keep. He has been your only friend for eleven years, initially partner in mischief and later your hunting companion and confidant. Now your friendship is being torn asunder, he has turned eighteen and is being sent away to become a Judge Knight Aspirant. What is to become of you? Before your friend leaves, there is murder and conspiracy! Magic left the land hundreds of years ago, all you have is your bow and hunting skills, nevertheless you must fight to survive and save another to have any hope of a future! Note: The graphic isn't mine; it is a re-imagining of a few separate images, any objections by original artists let me know. N.B. If you are looking for Sexual Content every chapter, or every second, third or fourth chapter this isn't the story for you - the Sexual Content is required for a plot device, not a way of life and the later chapters reflect that - please stop dropping Low Ratings when you feel I haven't met your idea of "fan service". This is finished as much as a multi book vision can be finished. At 750,000 words give or take and very little readership I can only blame myself. I have learnt a lot, possibly forgotten a lot as well! I will probably return to the Chapters at some point - a touch up here and a touch up there. The second book though will probably remain in my head for a very long time, so yes "cliffs" although I hope the characters and their motivations are developed enough that you can have a good guess at the content of Book Two and tell me so I can confirm or deny! This isn't a LITRPG where classes are developed, great foes are defeated by a hero of immense power. This is a story based within (I hope) a very real and consistent culture, that leaves breadcrumbs for the reader to work out what the heck is happening and why. This is a slow burn story as the MC is stumbling around discovering her new place and role. Author's Note (Apr 2021): I dropped the Fantasy Genre for the Mystery Genre, because while the setting mentions magic, is it about past glories and trying to return to them. Whereas the MC from Chapter One doesn't understand her predicament and the range of mysteries she must solve to survive. If I have this wrong PM me and I will change this back.
8 89Twisted Creation – Wicked World
In the beginning there was pain; unending and unbelievable pain. Tough there were also happy memories mixed together with the pain. Memories of her only friend and caretaker happily laughing at her misery. When he stopped visiting her in her small dark room, she decided to search and explore the outside world, trusting that she will reunite with him again. This is the story of a twisted, wicked girl and her very first steps in a new world.
8 114Moon Shaped Dreams
Henry Hill finds himself thrust into a strange world that doesn't much care for him either. Follow him as he scrapes and struggles to survive as a very small fish in a very big ocean. Luckily, magic is real and there for the taking. You only have to die first.
8 160The Compendium Allegoriian
Wherein the Author acquires a cursed trunk of treasures, once owned by another (now happily dead), and attempts to rid themselves of the burden by giving it all away. But the seed of a story, as the Reader well knows, so often sows many more of those... [On temporary hold while I focus on my entry to the April Writathon. Eventually these two works will connect, I'm just not great at multi-tasking so this compendium is temporarily parked until I cross thew May 5 finish line]
8 144Revival [The Lake House Sequel]
