Issac's P.O.V.
I towel dry my hair letting it flop over my forehead and pick out a shirt. My date with Ellie is tonight but I wish it wasn't, I wish I could cuddle up to Darcy after the day we've had and watch movies like we did last night.
I hear her laugh from downstairs, I smile, she's watching tv in the living room.
After what she told me today I want nothing more then to just hold her and tell her it's going to be okay.
A lot of her heartache is over her dad leaving, Andrew was the same when our grandad sadly passed away but all his life he'd suffered with mental illness that none of us knew about.
I'm just happy she's let me in, I can tell she feels better having let it out, I just don't get why her brother specifically didn't want me to know.
"Big date tonight?" Amelia smirks from the doorway, "Hardly" I roll my eyes.
"Is Darcy staying the night?" She smiles, sounding hopeful.
"Yeah, I don't want her being around her arsehole brother" I roll my eyes yet again, I didn't want to control what she does but her brother called her a mental box and is always vile to her and I don't want to see her upset.
"And you're going out so it's just gonna be me and her?" She raises her eyebrows, a smile picking up on her mouth.
"Yes?" I eye her weirdly but ignore it, "I'll be back late tonight depends on what we end up doing" I shrug, Amelia gives me a disgusted look, "I didn't mean that"
I wasn't exactly looking forward to this date, I like Ellie but not romantically, we've always just been friends and I'm going to have to tell her how I feel tonight.
I wonder downstairs smiling when I see Darcy watching the tv wrapped in a blanket, "Cold?" I raise my eyebrows.
She looks up, taken back for a minute she stumbles for words, "K-kinda" She composes herself trying to cover up that she just dragged her eyes all over me, I couldn't help but smirk.
"Put this on" I smile handing her my folded up hoodie from the done washing pile, "Thank you" She smiles and puts it on.
"I'll be back later, Amelia's here so she'll come keep you company" I pull out my phone checking the time.
"Have a good night" She smiles sounding half-hearted, I give her one last smile before leaving the house. I let out a breath of air when I reach the car and stick the keys in the ignition.
"Let's go" I mumble under my breath and start driving, my mind flickers back to Darcy as I cruise along the deserted streets to Ellie's house.
I don't know what's gonna happen tonight but I know Ellie won't be happy. I've never looked at her like that, ever, I've grown up with her, where as Darcy, when I first met her she was a ball of nerves but I fell for it instantly.
I have to stop thinking about Darcy I asked Ellie on a date and she deserves a good time so I shouldn't be thinking about another girl, but I can't seem to help it, I'm always thinking about her.

"Hey gorgeous" Ellie smiles when she climbs into my car smelling like perfume and everything girl, "You okay?" I pull out the street and make my way to the restaurant.
"I am now" She winks, I keep my eyes on the road, I don't know what to say to her.
I make the journey to the restaurant fast so we can get on with the evening, sitting in a booth for two I scan the menu.
"You're very quiet, you're normally quite the flirt" Ellie narrows her eyes, she's right I normally am, "Sorry just got a lot of my mind" I shrug.
"Wanna talk about it?" She raises her eyebrows, "No but thanks, I don't want to fill the night with my boring problems, tonight is about you, tell me about your day" I feel bad having to force most of those words out.
"I went to college which you should of been to, where were you?" She tries to ask casually but I know she's highly curious.
"I ditched" I shrug, "To do what?" She frowns her eyebrows, "Do I have to have a reason?" I laugh.
"Well yes, you don't ditch for no reason, you only ditch when there's something much better to be doing" She sips her drink not taking her eyes off me.
"I went to the zoo" I shrug, I didn't want to tell Ellie because she wouldn't be happy with what I was actually doing but she asked the question so I'm gonna answer it.
"The zoo? Who with?" She looks even more confused but tries to play it off, she needs to get better at this, "Darcy" I smile.
"You ditched a day of college to go to the zoo with her?" Her eyebrows shoot up, "Her, has a name" I immediately feel defensive.
"Why?" Ellie looks annoyed and doesn't hide it at all as she slumps back, her mouth in a thin line, "I took her out for the day, she's my friend and she's going through a rough time" I frown, I imagine her at home cuddled up in my hoodie, how badly I want to be with her.
"Oh, poor innocent little Darcy" Ellie rolls her eyes, why does everyone say that? Her brother said the exact same thing, "Why do you call her that?" I knit my eyebrows together.
"What? Poor innocent little Darcy? Isn't it obvious?" Ellie laughs but I shake my head, it's now my turn to be confused, "No?"
"That's how she comes across, no one can ever upset little Darcy because she's just so precious and innocent all the time, teachers adore her, all the guys fall for her, because she's just innocent little Darcy who always gets what she wants when she wants because everyone falls to her feet and does anything she asks" Ellie rolls her eyes for the hundredth time tonight.
"That's not true" I become annoyed and defensive, "Yes it is, you don't see it because you've fallen into her spell"
"She hasn't got a spell, you don't know what she goes through to judge her like that, I thought you were her friend?" I sit up in my chair.
"I am" Her smile is big and fake, "Until she stole what's mine" She mumbles under her breath thinking I wouldn't hear but I did.

I don't know why Ellie is being like this, Darcy has done nothing wrong.
"Well, she's with Amelia at home" I shrug loosing interest in this all together. Darcy is so sweet and beautiful, why would anyone be mean to her?
"She's at your house?" She raises her eyebrows sky high, I have to hold my tongue before I say something I regret and just nod, "She's been staying round" I shrug.
"Why?" She shoots back, it's so obvious she's jealous and it's not that attractive, "She's going through some stuff at the moment" I mumble, I didn't wanna tell Ellie Darcy's problems, she'd hate me for it, she's only just starting to open up to me plus it's not for me to tell.
Our food comes and there's not much conversation, "How's your mom?" She ask's looking sheepish, "She's okay" I smile.
Ellie's mom died when she was only young, she was so heartbroken and that's when we were closest, Ellie would come round mine all the time to see Amelia but we'd always hang out and my mom became very motherly with her until they moved and she never came round then.
"It's her anniversary soon isn't it?" I raise my eyebrows, Ellie is actually a really nice person when you get to know her, it's just getting her to let her guard down.
She nods, eating her food, no eye contact. I frown, "You can come visit us whenever you like" I smile.
"Thank you" She smiles, this time using her real one. It's rare you see Ellie's real smile because she strongly believes that emotion is weakness, she's a strong person but no one can bottle up all there emotions.
"I'm sorry I was harsh towards Darcy" She mumbles, "I know she's done nothing wrong, I'm just jealous" She frowns, lost for words I blink at her.
"It's okay" I nod, maybe I was harsh with the things I've said about coming on this date, I feel like shit about it but I just shrug it off.
Once we've finished our food we leave the restaurant, "I don't want to go home yet" Ellie mumbles, "That's cool, we can go for a walk somewhere" I shrug, we haven't been out long.
I take her to a massive park in the middle of town, it's quite busy with workmen walking through but there's a massive fountain and you can see all the building and city lights.
"Can you remember when we brought Milo for a walk here and he jumped in the fountain?" Ellie giggles, her eyes light up as she looks at the water.
She had a little black dress on with a long denim jacket over it, I spent the most time looking at her knee high boots, she's always had nice legs.
"I remember" I nod, "Even the part where you jumped in after him because you thought he'd drown?" She laughs covering her mouth with her hand.
"He was only a small dog" I defend myself, "I didn't know he could swim" I laugh, when me and Ellie were little she had a dog and we always used to take him for walks but we could only go to the park near our house because her dad wouldn't let her go out any further but I persuaded her to come to this one, she laughed and gigged to herself for hours after.
"I can't believe your mom fell for that lie" She shakes her head, "It was a good lie" I laugh, I had told her a car had drove into a puddle where I was walking and managed to soak me from head to toe, she still believes it to this day.
"Amelia is the only one who can figure my lies out" I huff, I don't know how she does it.
"Nor do I, you're pretty good at it" She laughs, "You lied about breaking my bike and I believed you, I didn't find out you were lying until years after"
"Oh my god that was actually an accident, I didn't mean to break it" I laugh loudly thinking back.
We walk down the strip along a little canal, the sun moving down the sky, "Come on, it's getting late, I don't wanna get told off by your dad" I smile and lead her back to the car, it hasn't been a bad night, it's been fun.
I bring her back to her house, the lights are on in the living room meaning her dad was keeping an eye out for her, he's always been protective, never been my biggest fan.
"Thank you for tonight, I really enjoyed myself" She smiles, "No problem"
She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, she looks like she's debating with herself giving her a confused expression, I frown my eyebrows.
"You okay?" I meet her eye, "Y-yes, just, don't talk otherwise I won't be able to do this" She takes a deep breath.
"Do what-?" I'm cut off by Ellie matching her lips with mine, I sit in surprising for a minute but kiss her back, I've kissed a lot of girls but never Ellie and it feels weird.
She pulls back flustered, "See you tomorrow!" She jumps out the car in a flash and up her drive, what just happened?
I sit in shock for what seems like forever, but I have to move from her drive pretty quick because I can see her looking at me through her window.
I shrug it off, I was meant to tell her that I only like her as a friend but then it didn't end up like that at all. I don't know what's the matter with me, I never used to really care about girls but now I'm stressing over a little kiss, I've kissed lots of girls, no biggie.
I huff and pull up outside my house and embrace the warmness of the indoors. I walk round into the living room to try and find Darcy, it's late so I'm guessing she's asleep.
The house is quiet I can only hear the telly, I smile when I see her all cuddled up on the sofa asleep, with Amelia.
She has her arms tightly wrapped around Darcy cuddling her into her chest the blanket tucked around them, I eye it suspiciously for a few minutes but shrug it off.
It's probably nothing.
