He was studying a few of his files. It was a cloudy day outside it could rain any moment which made the weather more chilly than usual. He sighed sipping on the coffee, he just prepared.

His wife was sleeping at this time, and he was happy that she was taking proper rest.

He was going to be busier with the passing time so he wanted her to join her college again. He was aware of the fact that she wanted to join her college as well. He read the whole document before signing on it when the raindrops started trickling on his window.

The sound of the small raindrops falling on the hard surface led to a very soft and comforting voice. But it couldn't calm his anger as he found a few mistakes in a single document. He picked up his phone calling his PA.

"Yes sir", she spoke in a sleepy voice. It was still 6 in the morning.

"Ms. Sharma, I am telling you very clearly. Either you do your work seriously or put your resignation on my table", he told her making her wake up immediately.

"Sir, what happened?", she asked in a fearful voice.

"Did you even check this document before forwarding it to me?", he asked as she cursed in her mind. She forgot to do that. She was too busy reading the new book she bought a few days ago.

"I am sorry, sir", she apologized immediately.

"Either check this piece of the contract before 9 otherwise you know how to type your resignation letter", he told her harshly before hanging up on her.

He breathed heavily trying to calm his breathing.

Just then he heard the sound of anklets which made him look at the closed door but nobody came inside.

He stood up from his place to check on her. He walked out of his study to look for her only to find her in the kitchen drinking a glass of warm water.

Her long hair was pulled up in a messy bun. She was wearing a light saree which meant that she took a bath already. Her eyes fall on him as she found him leaning on the wall looking at her.

"You had your breakfast", she asked him as he was already ready for the day.

"I don't know how to cook and even if I knew I couldn't cook it because I was very busy with work", he told her making her shake her head.

"You should take care of your health. You woke up at 4 and it's already 6:30. You must be really hungry. You could've woken me up", she spoke while getting a few slices of bread and milk from the refrigerator.

"I thought I didn't make a noise while waking up", he told her making her smile.

"You don't that is the thing. You snore while sleeping when you wake up it's completely silent", she told him with a soft smile on her lips making him frown.

"Oh, I am really sorry for that. I didn't know I snore", he spoke looking in distance.

"You didn't know you snore? I can't believe that. You've never shared a room with anybody", she asked him with raised eyebrows astonished by this new discovery.

"I started sleeping in my own room at the age of 6. I never shared my room with anybody", he confirmed still having his eyes in space.

"Oh", she whispered. She felt very bad for him. A small child is always scared of stay alone.

"By the way, I don't care if you snore because my brother used to snore so loudly, and till the age of 18, I shared my room with him. You snore softly nobody can hear it at a distance", she said tried to cheer him up but he didn't say anything.

"Ji. You can sit. You seem so tired already", she said looking at the frown on his forehead but it seemed like he was not hearing her. She reached him before holding his hand. He immediately looked at him. She pulled him to sit on the bar chair placed around the kitchen counter.

"What do you want to have?", she asked him while putting butter on the bed toasting it on the pan.

"Anything is fine with me", he said as she looked at him with a small smile looking at his cold composure. In these few days of her marriage, she realized he wasn't really bad from the heart. He was just a person who always yearn for love from his elders. She still wondered why his family member made her feel like that.

His eyes suddenly fell on her ears before looking at her as she was busy preparing their breakfast.

"Why are you not wearing your earrings?", he asked and like a habit only she touched her earlobe before smiling.

"The earrings I was wearing yesterday were heavier than I thought. So my ears were hurting after that", she said pushing her hair strands behind her ear.

"If it doesn't suit you, you shouldn't wear them", he told her.

"The problem is that my wedding earrings were very heavy. My earlobes have not really recovered from that till now", she told him as he nodded.

"What you used to wear before marriage?", he asked suddenly seeing the shine on her face.

"Diamond tops earrings", she responded before putting the sandwich in front of him.

"You could wear them then", he said as she smiled.

"I left it at my place by mistake", she told him and was about to get his coffee when he held her wrist.

"You should've told me earlier. I could've bought another pair for you", he told her as she frowned.

"Why would you buy another pair when I already own one", she told him before giving him his coffee.

"But I can buy one for you", he said with a frown as she sat in front of him with her plate of food.

"When did you wake up?", she asked him suddenly as he frowned.

"4:00 am", he spoke with confusion.

"Yes, You wake up so early to do your work and you want me to just waste your money on things I already own. I can't do this. Please forgive me", she told him while biting her sandwich as he looked at her with a small smile.

"My little one is so considerate", he said caressing her head as she pushed his hand away from her head.

"I have to comb my hair. Don't tangle them more than they already are", she spoke while sipping her milk.

"Ji, I think we need to go grocery shopping", she said after remembering that the slices of bread were finished.

"Tell the servants to buy them", he said shrugging his shoulder.

"Of course not, I am not doing any such thing. Mumma always said that we should buy groceries ourselves for our home. It ensures the freshness of the food", she told him as he shook his head.

"I am too busy, Tara", He told her as she pouted.

"I know and I don't want to trouble you as well. I will buy them myself. I know you are a busy man", she spoke in a small voice as her phone started ringing in the living room.

She frowned before standing up only for him to hold her hand.

"Have your food before attending the call", he said pointing at her half-finished sandwich. She pouted before sitting back having her food. Once she was done, she got her phone only to find it to be Sakshi. She did send a message to her as well.

"Are you coming to the college today?"

"Ji, I want to go to college today", she said looking at her phone.

"I'll drop you", he answered while checking his own phone.

"I'll just wash the dishes before changing", she spoke before picking up his plate when he held her wrist.

"You are cooking that is enough. We have helpers for that", he told her in a hard voice leaving no way for discussion. She just nodded her head before walking to their room to get changed.

She wore a yellow sweater with denim jeans. She paired it with her boots.

She started brushing her hair when he came into the room wanting to get his jacket.

"How much time will it take for you to get ready?", he asked checking his watch.

"I am almost ready", she told him looking at the watch which showed 7:30.

"Shit", she whispered checking her timetable which showed that her first class starts at 8:20.

She picked up her bag checking her books quickly. She looked at him to find him already ready with his things. They walked to his car.

He opened the door for her letting her sit properly before getting to his side.

"I am so late today", she shook her head checking the time again. She felt like time was running out of her hand.

"Don't take tension. You'll be on time", he said before starting driving to her college. She looked out to find students or employees moving on the roads to reach their institution or office.

She remembered the time when she used to take the bus to her college and now there were so many cars following behind them for security. Being powerful does mean more danger.

"I have appointed a few guards for you. You can approach them if you find something is wrong. I would try to come early and we'll go for your grocery shopping", he spoke as she immediately looked at him with a smile. He didn't forget about her shopping.

"Did you get lunch?", he asked her only for her to be silent.

"Come on, Angel, this is not the way. That's why I told you to appoint a cook", he told her making her pout.

"I'll eat something in the cafeteria", she said as he shook his head.

"I'll send somebody with your food to your college", he told her.

"But Ji, I have a girls college. You can't just send people inside", she told him looking at his side.

"I spoke to your principal. She knows everything and she did give the permission", he told her making her sigh but nodded nonetheless.

He dropped her in front of her college. She checked the time. It was still 8:05.

"I thought I would never reach on time", she whispered as he held her wrist making her turn to him.

"I'll miss you", he whispered making her frown.

"We'll meet in the evening. It's just a matter of a few hours", she told him as he shook his head.

"These few hours are enough for me to worry about you. You don't know what you mean to me. In these few days, I have been very much accustomed to your presence in my life", he said kissing her knuckles.

She looked down feeling shy again as he pulled her in his arms breathing in her scent.

She thought for a second before wrapping her arms around him. He kissed her cheek making her blush.

She blinked a few times before walking out after saying a small bye.

She turned around when she reached the gates to find him still there. She waved her hands at him before entering inside only to hear him drive away. She smiled walking inside.

She looked around to find his guards but it was like they were invisible.

'Maybe they are not here till now', she thought before entering inside with the same smile on her face.

She reached her classroom and immediately met her cousin there who was so much excited to see her after so long. They started taking classes and got ready for the hectic day.

"You call it corrected", he said harshly throwing the papers on the floor beside her feet as she jumped at her place.

"Sir, I tried to find all the mistakes", she said shivering under his glare.

"All mistakes? I feel like you have added more mistakes", he spoke.

"Are you still sleeping?", he spoke making her shake her head just then there was a knock on the door.

"Come in", he spoke as immediately his brother-in-law Yuvraj walked inside looking around at the papers thrown on the floor and the girl shivering like a leaf.

"Can I speak to you?", Yuvraj spoke putting his hands in his pocket.

"Go", Arjun spoke without looking at the girl who ran away picking up the file with her.

"How are you doing after marriage?", Yuvraj asked sitting in front of him as Arjun started typing on his I- Mac.

"I don't think you are here to get information about my marriage life", Arjun asked making Yuvraj laugh leaning back in his seat.

"I heard you left Khurana Mansion", Yuvraj asked as Arjun stayed silent showing his positive response to that.

"What can be the reason behind it? Let me think. Another threat", Yuvraj said rubbing his jaw. Arjun snickered at his words shaking his head.

"I am not scared of any threats. Fear is scared of Arjun Khurana not the other way around", Arjun spoke raising his eyebrow.

"Well I used to think the same till the point Saachi was kidnapped", Yuvraj spoke making Arjun stop.

"It wasn't your mistake", Arjun spoke looking at him making Yuvraj smile sadly.

"She was 7 months pregnant back then. If something would've gone wrong, you know I would've gone crazy", Yuvraj said as Arjun chose to stay silent.

"You got her safe in two days only", Arjun spoke as Yuvraj smiled.

"But the main point is that she was kidnapped. She was scared. Whatever happened was because I let my guards down. You leaving the Khurana mansion means leaving your safe fortress. Remember Arjun when Lion roams around alone, a group of jackals can hunt him down but when a lion attacks in the group, they can even hunt an elephant. You alone are not enough to save your wife. You need the whole group of lions with you i.e. your family", Yuvraj spoke making Arjun stare in space.

"They can't hurt Tara inside that mansion", Arjun said with a different shine in his eyes which made Yuvraj smirk as his eyes moved to a flower vase before nodding at Arjun.

"Even if they get inside my house, they can't hurt my wife. I am sure about it. But the moment they would get into my territory, I would start the reverse counting of their luxurious lifestyle. I would make sure I would pull them out of their hiding spots and chop them into pieces", Arjun said leaning back in his seat with a smirk on his face and an evil hint in his eyes.

"I just wanted to warn you. Rest is your decision", Yuvraj spoke as Arjun gave a curt nod to him.
