She stopped taking the support of the wall with a shy smile covering her face. She could hear the soft sound made by the anklet which made her feel so pure and peaceful.

She felt the same gaze on her back which made her turn as his intimate eyes met hers making her look down.

He took out the other anklet in his pocket making her look up before placing a kiss on it keeping his eyes on her making her blush heavily. She looked down before nodding her head lightly in a way of saying bye before running out.

She was never courageous enough to look into his eyes. She could always look till his shoulder if more than his throat came in her view. His adam's apple made her feel a weird thing.

She was reading her books peacefully crossing her legs taking support of the bedrest. She had an off from her college today and she was thankful, she had an off.

She was so tired with all the working days. She thought college days are for fun but here she was tiring herself over and over again. She marked the important lines when her eyes fall on her anklet.

It seemed so simple yet so beautiful. True to his words, she didn't remove it till now.

Just then Dinesh's phone started ringing which was kept in her room. Her brother always asked her to pick up the call as it could be something important.

"Hello"

"Hello Ma'am, I am from the city hospital. Mr. Singhud asked me to deliver the reports at home", he spoke which made Tara frown.

"Hospital reports?", she asked not understanding what could be the reason to visit the hospital.

"Alright I am coming", she said hanging up thinking for a minute before running outside.

"Aadhish, we spoke to our elders. They said we can't marry Tara right now", Nagesh announced making Arjun see red as he fisted his hands.

"Why not Bhai Sahab?", Shraddha asked Nagesh.

"According to traditions, we can't marry our daughter just after our son. If you send the proposal first, we could've married Tara first than married Dinesh", Nagesh said.

"We can't bring Lakshmi(daughter-in-law) home than send her(daughter) away till one year of son's marriage", Supriya clarified which made Arjun close his eyes.

"So what else we can do?", Shraddha asked not wanting to upset her son.

"There is no other way, aunty", Dinesh said when his eyes fall on Tara who was walking downstairs.

She was shocked to find the Khuranas at their place as she touched their feet as her mother told her.

"Taru, go back to your room", Dinesh told her not wanting her to be here in this important discussion.

"One second", Tara stated before walking to the door where the delivery man was already standing. He took her signatures before leaving after making sure she was related to Dinesh by taking his phone number from her.

"What was that?", Dinesh asked.

She passed the envelope to him wanting to maintain his privacy.

"I won't ask anything", she spoke softly as he opened the envelope immediately to see his wife's report. He wanted to make sure everything was alright first.

He took a deep breath as a smile covered his lips as his eyes fall on Trisha whose eyes were on him only. She took a breath after seeing his smile. She held the wall near her not able to control her happiness.

"Listen to me, Tara", he told her before asking Trisha to stand beside him as Tara looked at them with curious eyes.

"You are going to be Bua", he told her looking at Trisha who smiled back at her.

Tara frowned not able to understand his words.

"What are you saying Bhai? I am not a Bua yet. No one from our brother is married except you. Wait", she stopped staring at him in shock.

"Bhai?", she asked before looking at Trisha who nodded cupping her lower abdomen.

"Bhai", she squealed before throwing her arms around her brother.

"I am so happy", she said jumping with happiness.

"Calm down little bunny", he told her as she pulled away smiling brightly at him.

"But Bhai, you should at least give me some gift while telling this good news", she told him pouting looking at Trisha who laughed caressing her back.

"Greedy bunny", he told her making her laugh.

"Is it true?", Supriya asked looking at Trisha who nodded.

"I am old now. I accept it", Nagesh spoke making Tara giggle.

"It's a moment of great happiness. Bring some sweets from the kitchen, Taru", Nagesh told his daughter who nodded before walking inside the kitchen and coming back with a box filled with Kaju Katli. She made her Bhai and Bhabhi eat it before making Shraddha and Aadhish have it in excitement.

Everybody was busy congratulating the new couple.

When she turned holding the piece of the sweet between her forefinger and thumb only to come across her fiancee who stared at her intimidatingly making her look down. He leaned down a little before taking a bite of the sweet, his lips brushing against her finger making her shiver.

He pulled back immediately taking the left piece from her hand before having it as well.

"Congratulations", he spoke, the same commanding tone in his voice making her gulp.

He turned his back to her proceeding to the couple blushing lightly.

"Congratulations both of you", he told Dinesh who blinked his eyes once thanking him for keeping their secret a secret.

She got a call from him the following day. After thinking for a long time, she picked it up thinking it could be something possible.

"Good Evening, baby", he said in a hard voice as if he was controlling himself.

"Good Evening", she whispered back closing her books.

"What are you doing?", he asked as she kept her pen in its stand.

"Was currently studying", she answered back in her small voice.

"You must be knowing what our family decided about our marriage", he said as she hummed. Her Bhabhi told her how he was very angry with this delay in the marriage but still, he didn't say anything.

"I am leaving for Australia tomorrow evening", he told her making her part her lips in shock.

She wasn't expecting anything like this from him. Was he really leaving? But why? Was it because of business?

"No it isn't for business though I have some work there I could've managed to do it staying here only", he said reading her mind when she was silent for long.

"Than why?", she asked before she could stop himself. She cupped her mouth cursing herself to speak this much.

"The reason is you", he said making her frown.

"Ji, me?", she asked not able to digest his reason.

"Ji, aap(you)", he said making her red in embarrassment.

"But why me?", she asked but he stayed silent.

"I am going tomorrow. You can enjoy your bachelor life for a year more", he said before hanging up. She frowned before calling Kenit.

"Yes, Bhabhi Ji", Kenit spoke with a sigh.

"Kenit, your brother is going to Australia?", she asked which made him sigh again.

"Tara, after coming back from your home. Bhai was very angry. He locked himself in his room for the whole day without food. When he came out, he announced that he is leaving for Australia and he would stay there only till your marriage date would be finalized", Kinshuk said as the phone was on speaker.

"Was he that upset?", Tara asked as they hummed.

"We don't know what he actually sees in you but you are really very important for him", Kenit said.

This made Tara completely mute.

"I'll speak to you later", she said hanging up before looking outside. The greenery in her garden always calmed the thunder inside her but today it wasn't helping as well.

She walked to her bed lying down after switching off the lights. It was getting so difficult for her.

This was not how she wanted her life to be.

She was dreaming of a life in which there won't be any problems but it seems like God is very happy with her these days. They are just throwing difficulties in her way.

She wanted to be heartless and ignore this person names Arjun who was the reason for all her problems but she couldn't deny the fact that he was also becoming the reason for her peace.

Whenever she closed her eyes, she sees only his face, either angry or smiling but it's always him. She felt so irritated as angry tears started forming in her eyes. Why was he punishing himself because of the delay in their marriage?

"Why are you doing this, Ji?", she whispered tracing her finger on her engagement ring.

She felt so weird to visit him but the whole night, she kept on thinking about him.

"I was expecting you here", Kenit whispered in her ear from behind making her jump.

"We are thankful, you came here", Kinshuk said as Kenit nodded.

"Bhai is really angry. We are not having the courage to speak to him", Kinshuk said as Tara gulped.

"Don't worry, he wouldn't say anything to you", Kenit said as Tara looked down.

She did wish their words are true.

"We'll take you to his room", Kinshuk said pulling Tara with them and leaving immediately after pushing her inside.

Arjun was talking to somebody near the door when a girl fall in his arms. It was his girl.

Tara took a deep breath holding his shoulder to stable herself.

"You okay?", he asked as she nodded her head standing properly in her place wearing her dupatta properly.

He closed the door behind asking her to sit on the bed as he checked a few things around.

"Why are you leaving?", she asked as this question was bugging her for a long time.

"Are you affected by me leaving?", he asked back making her gulp.

"This is not my answer", she whispered as he sat beside her their hands brushing against each other making her keep her hands on her lap.

"Tara, there are things you don't know", he breathed taking her hands in his as she looked down.

"Before you, I was just living", he spoke tracing her knuckles as she gulped.

"I don't know how I will control myself if I stay around you. If I reach you easily, I would do that and it would not be right for our relationship", he told her as she held his hand for the first time.

"You think this long-distance relationship will work then", she asked in a heavy voice as he stared at her face.

"We are engaged, Tara. There is no question of it working or not we are getting married and that is final", he spoke in a rather loud voice making goosebumps arise on her soft skin.

"What if I fall for some other person in this time?", she asked the question she was having in her mind for so long. Would he let her go like those heroes in movies? The ones who don't want their lady love to be in a loveless relationship. Would he like to sacrifice?

All these things came to an end as his grip increased around her wrist making her wince trying to pull away from him.

"Baby, don't think if I am not in the country my eyes won't be on you. If you even dare to look at any other man, I would make sure you would be scared to look up again. And if some other man looked at you with the wrong intention, he would get the right result of it as well", he told her leaving her hands which were clad with green glass bangles in her left hand and four gold bangles in her other hand.

"I hope everything is clear", he spoke harshly making her gulp.

"Baby?", he asked holding her hand tightly as she nodded fearfully. He nodded his head before standing up from his place attending to work-related calls still having his eyes on her.
