《One Last Fight》How Do You Feel About Blueberry Muffins And Juice Boxes?

Ever since I have shown Bo the nursery, I have woke up in the middle of the night, finding her in the rocking chair with a book lying on her baby bump. When I would wake up at two in the morning, I would have to carry her from the nursery back to the bed. I knew she didn't like telling me she was going off to read, but it was nice to know before I woke up to my wife in three days missing. Now, I am used to it.

On the night of our wedding, I found her in the nursery again. She wasn't aware that I was standing in the doorway, watching as she rubbed her stomach and talked to the baby. There was a smile on her face as she told her about tomorrow's event.

"I'm marrying your daddy. Tomorrow to be exact," she grinned. "He really is the man of my dreams. I finished writing my vows last night. Your dad thought I was really sleeping. I just like when he carries me to bed."

Her snickering filled the room, my little con-artist. My head moved back and forth as I tried not to laugh at my unbelievable fiance. She thought she was hilarious. All she had to do was ask, I would carry her, regardless if she was sleeping or not. I loved her, and that meant I would do anything for her.

"I should be in bed, but I am excited to meet you," she sighs. "I promise I am going to be a good mommy. I wish you could have met mine. You would have loved your grandma. She was simply the best, but I have so many more people in my life that you will be lucky to know. People that will love you so much -"

"These people are what life is really about. I mean, your uncle John is a prize. I think there might be something wrong with him because he is kind of a dork, but hey, so is your mommy. He always knows what to say when you are feeling down, and something about him feels like familiarity -"

"Your uncle Miles is something else," she looked at the painting behind her. "I can't wait for you to see everything he did for you. He is truly heaven-sent. When he came around, I figured out, that is what a real friend should be like. He has been there every step of the way for your daddy and continues to be there for me -"

"Uncle Trevor is the most supportive person I have ever met. Whenever your mommy needed help, he was there. I have gotten into some trouble. From excessively drinking to just about mid-life crisis one could have, he was there for all of it. He was the one holding my hair back and making sure I made no stupid decisions -"

"But your dad," she let out a breath as I slid down the wall to listen to her. "I witnessed first hand what it was like to meet someone who felt like everywhere I wanted to be. You know, I never felt like I belonged anywhere. There were a million cities I wanted to visit because I hoped to find myself there, but the moment I met your dad, I realize it was never a place but a person. He made me feel like I was home -"

"He is my best friend and lover, all in one," she chuckled. "And every morning I wake up next to him, I wonder how I got so lucky. I have never met someone so dedicated to loving someone. Then I met him, and he dedicated every second of every day to my well-being and making sure I was okay -"

"I know I exhausted him with the hiding secrets and countless lies," she sniffled. "I did bad to your dad a lot. I hurt him in ways he never deserved. I made him the bad guy when he wasn't, and I avoided him when he was the person I wanted to run to. But when a love so compassionate and strong comes at you when you have never felt something even remarkably close, you push it away. You look at it and wonder when the slip up is going to happen -"

"And baby, it never happened. We had our crashes, but this isn't the type of love to crumble at the first impact, but a love that builds against the problem and combines strengths to outlast the next one. The house can settle and be ripped apart brick by brick, but we have a foundation so solid nothing will wreck us. Not even the strongest tornado -"

"So, yes, I am excited to bring you into this world because the love your daddy will provide you will be unconditional," she sucked in a deep breath. "And you will never have to worry about anything because he will be there to protect you. You will never have to be alone because he will be in your corner. Your daddy will be the biggest supporter aside from your momma that is, but I spent a lifetime trying to find something like that. You will witness it the second you can start forming memory -"

"When you are ready," she sighed. "We are ready. We have been ready since the moment we met."

I could hear her shuffling around as I wiped the tears from my eyes. Her presence wasn't expected so soon, but she showed up at the doorway. A scream ripped through her throat as she clutched her chest.

"What the flip, Kinnick Carson?" Her breathing was quick. "How long have you been out here for?"

"Come here."

I grabbed her hand, pulling her into me. She stood in front of me as I wrapped my arms around the back of her legs, resting my head on her stomach as I held her. Her fingers ran through my hair as she asked me if everything was okay. I didn't know what to say. I wanted to tell her I was fine, but I wasn't.

"Baby," she kneeled in front of me. "What is going on?"

I looked up at her as she cupped my face. "There was shit I wasn't supposed to survive. I didn't want to live, but somebody knew I was made for somebody. That somebody was you, Bo. That somebody was this baby."

"We were made for one another," she kissed my nose. "We were made for loving one another."

I cupped the back of her legs, bringing her onto my lap. She sucked in a deep breath as I quickly cupped her face to kiss me. She was holding my jaw as our lips moved against one another. My tears were wetting her face as they transferred from my cheeks to hers.

The urgency between our movements were living proof we wanted nothing more than to be closer to one another. We wanted to reach heights we had yet to reach. My hands dropped to the robe she wore, unwinding the knot. She gasped into my mouth as the coldness nipped at her body.

I could feel the goosebumps rising as my hands explored every inch of her naked skin. Her body was changing, and as much as it seemed to bother Bo, it never bothered me. There were marks across her stomach she was self-conscious about, however.

She thought I cared about that kind of shit and I didn't. I didn't fall in love with her body. I fell in love with the way her words silenced the demons in my head. It was the way she loved me and not the way she made love to me.

"What about the baby?" She asked as she ground into my shorts.

I gripped her hips as she rocked against me, gasping at the shock erupting through my body. "If you don't think it's okay, we don't have to."

"I want to," she looks at me. "But if something doesn't feel right, we can stop."

"You just let me know, okay?"

My eyes searched her for any sign of worry and I found none. When I tried standing up, her hands were on my shoulders, pressing me back against the wall. I went to ask her if everything was okay, but her lips were back on mine as she was pulling on my shirt.

"Bo," I mumbled against her lips as she reconnected our lips after ripping my shirt off. "What is the rush?"

"I need you," her hands roamed my body. "Now."

A gasp left my lips as she cupped me with her hands. Her eyes stayed on mine as she guided me into her. Warmth consumed my body as I filled her. All I wanted to do was watch the pleasure take over her body, but it was taking over mine, and I couldn't control the fluttering of my eyes as they rolled into the back of my head. She whimpered as she sunk onto me, allowing herself every last inch until she reached the end.

This was new - something she never tried before. I opened my eyes to see her sucking in deep breaths. My hands gripped her waist as I shifted to get comfortable. The look she gave me was of one I never saw before. It was like she discovered something inside of herself that only I could give her.

Her toes curled against my thighs as I helped guide her hips back and forth. Her forehead was pressed against mine as we watched one another. Our breaths became one as our bodies molded. She gripped my shoulders as she rocked against me. Heavy puffs of air left her mouth as she picked up her pace.

"We are getting married tomorrow," I mumbled to her.

"Mhm," she hummed. "In less than twelve hours."

"Fuck me," my teeth sunk into my lip. "I love you."

She let out a cry as I bent my knees. "Shit, are you okay?"

Shivers consumed her body. Every inch of her convulsed as she arched into my chest. I circled my arms around her, holding her closer to my chest. My feet pressed off of the ground, allowing me to meet her movements. Another moan left her lips as I held her close to my chest and continuously brought my hips up to hers.

Her fingernails dug into my shoulders. "Kinnick, I love you."

I leaned my head against hers. "I love you most."

"Oh god," her teeth sunk into my skin.

"Don't be quiet," I pleaded. "Let it out. I want to heart it."

"Kinnick -"

"No one can hear you," I promised. "Not a single person."

Cries left her lips as I drove into her, refusing to hold back, just so I could hear what only I could do for her. She begged me to keep going, and I was going to grant every fucking wish she had. The noises emitting from her mouth were sending me over the edge. As her body began to shake, I could feel myself relaxing into her.

She continued to rock her hips against me as she rode out her high. A high neither of us wanted to land from. My toes curled against the hardwood floor as another wave of pleasure coursed through my body.

I tightened my hold on her as she wrapped her around my neck. I wasn't sure how long we stayed there, tangled in one another, connected in the hallway of our house as we soaked in every ounce of emotion we were feeling in that moment.

"I love you."

She smiled against my neck. "I love you."

"We are going to be exhausted tomorrow."

"Completely."

"How do you feel about blueberry muffins and juice boxes?"

"Juice boxes?" She giggled. "When did we accumulate juice boxes in our fridge?"

"John bought us a twelve pack."

Her giggle turned into full-blown-out laughter. "How thoughtful."

"So, what do you say?" I pat her thigh. "We can stay up watching t.v or something."

"Spongebob is on."

"How would you know that?"

"I was watching it a few nights ago," she revealed. "I love Spongebob."

"Deal," I chuckled. "I will grab the snacks and you just get your pretty little self into our bed. Okay?"

"What? Why can't I help?"

"I assume you have to pee first," I shrugged. "I guarantee I can make it from the kitchen to the bedroom before you can finish peeing."

"What makes you say that?"

"You are slow."

She pulls back to look at me. "Challenge accepted."

The second she stood up, she was wrapping herself in her robe and running for the bathroom. I know I should have been racing down the stairs, attempting to beat her, but I just wanted to hear her shrieks of laughter as she ran away from me.

When I heard the toilet flush I heard her feet smacking the carpet as she let out broken laughter. "I won!"

Our snacks were in the mini-fridge in our room. I never had to go downstairs - I wanted to hear her tease me for winning. I didn't need to beat her - I already won. I won the second she came into my life.
