What had happened to the three male leads?

Well, during the war, they had barely managed to escape with severe injuries. Only to get viciously hunted down by Kieran as revenge. Leaving the crown prince alive in order to sign a document to hand over their territory to Kieran since the King and Queen was killed during the chaos of the war.

And after Kieran had got the document, immediately, he killed the crown prince immediately without any hesitation.

It was his fault that Estorea had died. Everyone... Everyone that harmed Estorea...

Should die.

With that vow, he headed off to go massacre the whole biological family of Estorea as he has already seen the fine treatment they had given to his beloved. He was very aware that it was the sister's fault that Estorea had ended up like this. So he gave her the worst death. By slowly killing and torturing her. Of course, not physically. Mentally.

Just by breaking her slowly was entertaining to Kieran but it never satisfied him. How could he ever forgive someone who had instigated Estorea's death?

He could never.

Never...

Never..

"Can you come back to me, Estorea? I got rid of all of them... So, can you please come back now?"

___________

Years later

___________

It was raining.

An old man with faded blonde hair with grey streaks in it, and noticeably red ruby eyes, held an umbrella in his head, protecting him from the rain.

He stood in front of a grave.

"Hello, my love... Today is a bit cold and gloomy, isn't it?" He kneeled down and laid a bouquet of white lilies.

"How are you today? Are you doing alright?" He whispered. Talking to the gravestone.

But no matter how much he talked, all he got in was silence.

He stared at the gravestone and touched it lightly. "Don't date other guys, okay? You can only be with me. Don't worry, I'm joining you soon. I will make sure you never leave my side again."

He sat down next to the gravestone and leaned against it, looking up at the sky, and took a vial out of his pocket.

He popped open the vial and drank the liquid. Placing the umbrella in the ground, he let the water droplets trickle down his face.

Finally, a slight smile crossed his face and his eyes fluttered close as his arms fell to the side.

...

"FATHER!" A young man screamed, seeing his father's limp body next to a gravestone. This was the current King, an adopted son of the previous King.

His eyes filled with tears as he trembled, looking at his lifeless body. He didn't know what to do. Everything seemed too much for him.

His legs suddenly lost strength and he fell to the ground, tears soaking his vest. "Father..." Tears kept falling, he glanced at the gravestone. "Of course... It's her." He picked up the empty vial.

"My mother... It's always been her. You always loved her so much, refusing to get another partner."

The young man didn't know who to blame. He couldn't blame anyone. His father was only 50 years old. His father had adopted him when he was 6 years old, 20 years had passed and his father had just passed down his throne to him a few months ago.

The kingdom was flourishing. His father had worked endlessly to make sure his kingdom would be a wonderful and safe place for everyone.

He never understand why his father would push himself so hard for a kingdom and his citizens. When he doesn't even care about them at all.

It always seem... Like he had another thing pushing him forward.

And he had found out about it when he saw his father staring at a portrait for hours in his armchair. A beautiful woman with raven black hair and amethyst eyes with a shade of blue in them.

Seeing the look in his father's eyes, such love... Gentleness. And obsession.

His father was clinging onto that portrait, it was always with him whenever he went. In his pocket tucked in safely.

He had walked away from the study after seeing that.

He was 10 years old at that time.

He had always wanted a mother and begged his father to meet someone. But his father had agreed to almost grant anything he wanted if it was reasonable or he worked hard for it.

But, his father had always firmly rejected his request without hesitation.

Now he had knew why. His father loves someone.

Growing up, he would never once see his father separate himself from the portrait. He would sleep next to it, eat next to it, and talk to it sometimes.

It was clear he was absolutely obsessed with her. Sometimes hallucinating himself and pretending that she was alive and next to him, having a conversation with him.

The royal officers and ministers knew of this and didn't say anything. They just minded their own business. He was doing a great job for the kingdom already. And besides... One minister had got executed when he kept pestering the king to marry.

So everyone kept their mouth shut and closed one eye.

They could only helplessly look at the King slowly descend into insanity.

And finally...

He committed suicide.

And that was the end of his era.

It was named the Golden Era. And he was highly praised by future generations later on.

Aelia had became a famous adventurer, but all of a sudden, she quit the adventurer guild's, along with Yosa, another famous adventurer.

Together, they both opened a bakery.

They both visit Estorea's grave once a week, always leaving be fresh flowers.

They had gotten married and were officially together.

It was small, simple wedding. Just a few friends of Yosa and Aelia.

And Haigu...

Haigu had became a butler of another noble family.

Every week, he would request one day of leave and go off to leave some flowers at Estorea's grave and accompany it for a few hours, taking a nap next to it. During those times, he felt like he was at peace.

He missed her greatly. Seeing her as a saviour from his slave life.

How sad he was too late to save her.

...

...

...

Estorea's eyes flew open, breathing heavily. What... What happened? She questioned.

She quickly sat up, and touched her neck, breathing a sigh of relief when she felt that it was still connected to her head.

Her head throbbed, and she looked around. Widening her eyes when she found herself in her old room.

"I... Came back...?" She looked at her hands and arms, they were attached. Not squashed at all.

Hurriedly, she rushed to her phone and checked the date.

"..."

It was the day after she had died.

What happened...?

Did she come back?

Estorea didn't know what to feel.

Happiness?

But she didn't feel any.

In fact, her mind flashed back to Haigu, Aelia and Kieran.

Kieran...

So that was what he was scared of. That terrified look on his face. It must have the rope that snapped.

Estorea sighed and laid down back on the bed.

She rested her head on her forehead, "It seems like I couldn't escape death after all..."

Estorea didn't know what to do. She was back now... So naturally, she would just be going back to her normal lifestyle now...

'It seems like a whole big dream I had.'

Estorea picked up her phone and searched for a novel.

She binge read it for the day, only to furrow her eyebrows and click off it. Nothing changed in the novel.

What was she expecting honestly?

Now that she remembers, 'What happened to Kari? I hope she had gotten back to her world.'

With these countless of invasive thoughts filling her mind, Estorea groaned. Sitting up and went off to cook so she could distract herself.

She should forget all about it and go back to her own life now, anyway.
