Your shoulders dropped heavily on your way up to your apartment and you desperately tried to stop them shaking.

When you got through the door, you leaned heavily against it for a minute, your head pushing into the wood.

'Bad day?' A soft voice called from the sofa as you trudged to the kitchen.

'The worst.' You slipped into Kryptonese in your tired state.

'Want to talk about it?' She asked as you sat down heavily next to her.

You took her laptop off her legs and wrapped one of her arms around your shoulder so you could shuffle into her space and nose into her neck.

You muttered against her skin a yes.

'Hand it to me. What happened?' She said and you could hear the small goofy smile on her lips.

'I may have tripped over and fell flat on my face in front of my new boss.' You breathed out, frustration and embarrassment still stinging your mind.

From above you you heard a small cough.

And then another.

'Are you... trying to not laugh at me?' You reeled back slightly so you could look at Kara's face.

She was smiling hard and holding her breath.

She shook her head but as she did a laugh fell out of her mouth.

'You are laughing at me!' You slipped back into english and slapped her shoulder.

'I'm sorry. I'm sorry.' She breathed after a fuller laugh.

'Hey! You suck. I was so embarrassed and he just looked at me for a solid minute.' You huffed and curled further into her body even as she shakes with laughter.

'Awh baby. I'm sure he didn't care that much.' She rubbed your arm and brought your head under her chin, still stifling giggles.

'Mhm whatever.' You grumbled, wrapping your arm around her and pulling so her body was flush with yours.

She was still giggling, pressing her smile into your hair every so often and trying to contain her snorts.

They stopped though, and when you realised you nudged your way out of her embrace so you could face her.

A look of adoration and slight nervousness adorned her face, her smile still set in stone.

'What are you thinking about love?' You traced her eyebrow with your finger and kept going until you were tracing her lips, placing a delicate kiss on them before she could answer.

'You.' She whispered, her forehead pressed to yours.

'Sap.' You grinned, your cheeks reddening slightly.

'Your sap.' She grinned back.

'My sap.' You tucked a strand of hair behind her ear softly.

'Marry me.' She whispered, her eyes closing.

'What?' You choked out, mind blanking.

'Marry me. Please. Marry me.' She breathed onto your lips, her air hot and her eyes sincere.

'Seriously?' You asked, breathless and elation bubbling in your chest.

'Seriously. I love you. I want you to be my wife.' She looked into your eyes and her smile was nervous and hésitent but full and bright.

'Your wife.' You repeated, the words feeling foreign but so so right on your mouth.

'Yes.' She whispered.

'Yes. Yes.' You breathed out and nodded.

'Yes?' She sounded so hopeful and your heart fluttered.

'Yes.' Your lips were swept up in a searing kiss and you let yourself melt into it, her tongue flooding your mouth in a familiar pattern.

'I love you. I love you so much.' She mumbled in between kisses and you noticed both of your tears were wet.

You drew back and wiped her tears away, doing the same with your own.

'I love you too.' Your eyes flickered over her face, your fiancé's face.

'Rao I have a ring, but it's in my bedside drawer.' She held your head in her hands and her grin was blinding.

'God I don't care. Give it to me tomorrow.' You laughed wetly, your heart full and light.

Later, when you were in bed, ring on your finger and those same fingers aching from being inside Kara pretty much all night, you asked.

'What made you propose then and there?' You looked at her form in the low light, her hands playing with yours in between your bodies.

'I want to hear those stories every day of my life.' She said softly, interlacing your fingers and tugging you closer.

'You will.' You replied, intertwining your bodies and breathing in Kara.

'I'm so excited to spend forever with you.' She spoke into your hair.

'I'm so excited too.'
