《A Mindful Relationship [Jensoo]》Chapter 5

"Lisa! She didn't come today." I came stomping my way onto Lisa's direction while the blonde looked confused af with half a sandwich hung from her mouth and her eyes wandering all around for help.
I slammed both my hands on the table that she was sitting at before looking at her pointedly. She gulped down the sandwich inside her mouth and dumbly looked at me while chewing another bite of her sandwich.
"Explain to me why she didn't come yet."
"U-Unnie had some errands to go to. I can't make her change her schedule just for school. Actually I can because Unnie loves me so much."
Did she really have to put that in?
Both me and Chaeyoung had the same annoyed and blank expressions on our faces which made Lisa laugh.
"Besides, Unnie's like the smartest person I know in the world. She doesn't even need school anymore." She shrugged.
Another smart ass to be added in the group? I can't live anymore.
"Whatever you say. But she is coming here, right?"
"Yes Unnie. Don't tell me your already crushing on her without even seeing her face yet." Two amused and teasing smirks were sent my way while I tried hard not to show them that I wasn't the least affected of what they said. And I tell ya, it was difficult.
"Exactly what I said." Chaeyoung fist bumped with Lisa while the blonde only flowed along with the brat.
"I am not crushing on this girl. Like I told you Chae, I'm simply curious about her." I nonchalantly shrugged.
"That's good then because your efforts will only go to waste because I tell ya, Unnie never gets in a relationship." Lisa says while chewing loudly. This girl seriously has no manners. I gave her a look of disgust which she only shrugged on.
"Why so?"
"Just because."
"Anyways, why not tell us her name? I asked you this yesterday and you didn't answer me." I frowned at my statement while grabbing a sandwich out of my bag and chewed along with Lisa. Receiving a groan from Chaeyoung.
"I already told you yesterday that you have to ask her for her name. I like making you suffer." Lisa smiled innocently while Chaeyoung only laughed at my annoyed and hurt expression.
"Same."
"Mean." I pouted making the two cover their eyes dramatically and gagging at the process. I simply rolled my eyes and continued on eating the remaining of my food.
"I'm mean? Then your median. Lisa'll be the mode."

"Why should I be the median?" I asked even though I've already forgotten what the hell that is. Academics aren't my thing.
"Because your short." Chaeyoung shrugged and grinned happily while I looked at her in disbelief.
"And what does that have to do with this?"
"When your in the center of me and Lisa, you're the most noticeable. Although, the most noticeable in statistics is mode but whatever. That's why."
"I think my brain just left my head." I held my head while groaning.
"You didn't have one to begin with." Both the maknaes said in unison making me glare at them. They only laughed and high-fived each other. And now, they're pissing me off on purpose.
"Get out. Your smart asses aren't welcome here." I gestured my hands into a shooing whatever but they didn't even move from their spot.
"Oh please. Without me and Lisa, you'll be lonely."
"Ha! I'm sorry but I'm pretty sure I have a fan club here in school." I confidently puffed my chest out making the other two roll their eyes. Obviously annoyed by me which I am happy about because these two are a headache.
"Do you now..?" Chaeyoung mused out loud. She was inspecting her nails but I doubt that she said that to them. So, in conclusion, the only person I know she'll happily annoy is me.
"I do!"
"Yeah whatever."
While the two of us bicker about the topic at hand, I noticed that Lisa has been on her phone for awhile and she had a grin on her face as well.
"Any good news, Lis?" I asked. Finally having freedom of Chaeyoung's rambling mouth.
"Unnie texted me and she's already on the way here. Like here." She pointed to the ground while my eyes widened and my movements panicky.
"What?! Shit."
I immediately took out a mirror out of my bag and checked out my face and hair at the same time. Making sure that it looks decent and presentable enough. As well as my outfit and posture.
The two maknaes only looked at me like I was a weird person that they didn't know because they were minding their own businesses but staring at me weirdly. I simply ignored them and applied a few touches to my light make up.
"What's wrong with you?" Both of them asked in unison. I stopped what I was doing and faced them with a face of annoyance. They keep on interrupting me. Gosh.
"I want to make a good first impression, obviously." I said as if it was the most obvious thing ever.

The two only shook their heads and watched me do things that I supposedly should not be doing for a first impression scene or whatever.
"You're just trying to impress her. Just say it already." Chaeyoung flicked my forehead making me whine. I caressed my poor forehead before giving the brat a glare.
"I am not trying to-."
I was abruptly cut off by Lisa calling out the person we've all been waiting for.
"Unnie!"
The walking petite figure coming towards us was a lot more beautiful in person. With jet black hair hanging loosely on her shoulders, resting there so perfectly. Blue eyes that had the color of the sea and shimmered in the sunlight, cute little nose that I want touch so much right now, perfectly sculpted jawline that can cut my finger, I think, if I even tried to touch it. And that heart-shaped lips that seemed so welcoming at the moment.
And now, I can proudly say that someone can simply be very attractive in a white shirt and gray peg-leg pants. She gained so much attention just by breathing. Wow...
Everything seemed to be in slow motion before but then I soon realized that she was already in front of us. More like, in front of me. She was staring at me like I was a specimen in research. I unconsciously gulped and felt small under her gaze even though our heights weren't that far from each other.
"Y-You must be the girl from yesterday?" I asked while trying to sound as normal as possible but that ended badly when my voice gave off a higher pitch that intended.
She only stayed there in front of me. Not even moving a muscle of any sort. As if she was a statue staring at me. I gulped once again while I laughed nervously.
"U-Um... I'm Jennie Kim by the way." I handed out my hand for a handshake and for the first time in about an eternity, her gaze shifted to my extended hand. But she didn't accept it and merely looked at it.
We were now gaining attention from the crowd. And now, I am plain embarrassed. Did she intend to embarrass me or something? People were now whispering and murmuring stuff about the girl.
Damn it.
"I'm sorry, Unnie. She doesn't do handshaking." Lisa chuckled lightly while wrapping an arm around the girl's shoulder.
I simply retracted my hand and stared at the girl. Wondering why she can't take a handshake.
Is she germaphobic? But I'm clean!
She firstly bowed at me which made me confused and shook but later on made some hand movements and I recognized it as...
Sign language?
"Wait, your deaf?" I asked while covering my mouth in shock.
"Not exactly. She's mute." Lisa corrected.
"R-Really? Then I'm sorry. It's pretty rude that I-."
"She says it's fine." Lisa cuts me off making me glare at her. She didn't even make me finish my apology.
"You can understand her pretty well, huh?"
"I mean, I did grow up with her so yeah." Lisa nonchalantly shrugged while the girl took a bite of some snack bar which I noticed only by now.
"Welp, that's that. We still have to go to class." Chaeyoung clasps her hands together and soon after, dragged Lisa away from me and her best friend. She tried squirming out of Chaeyoung's hold but surprisingly, the blue-haired girl was strong.
"B-But... are you gonna be okay, Unnie?" Her friend gave her a nod. Lisa then looked at my direction. "Take care of her for me, Jen!"
"Sure!"
After the two have finally disappeared, I decided to show her our classroom which she agreed upon on which made me feel relieved. The two of us arrived on the classroom in no time and luckily, there was no one there yet. I sat down on my seat while Lisa's friend took the seat beside me and comfortably sat there.
I'm glad she's getting comfortable.
"S-So... mind telling me your name?" I tried starting a conversation but all she gave me was that stoic and expressionless look that she had for the whole time we were together. The sound of the clock ticking was the only sound there was to be heard at the moment and I felt really awkward. "S-sorry."
I heard a little sigh from her which made me bow my head down. I fiddled with my finger for a minute or two before I felt a tap on my shoulder.
I faced her but she wasn't looking at me but the window beside her. She was ignoring me? But what was different of this ignoring exhibition was that there was a paper laid out in front of me with one single word on it.
But that word made me smile wider than expected. A word that made my gummy smile appear with no task needed. Or shall we call it, a name that made my day so bright with only one look.
Jisoo.
