I rolled my eyes " I'm sorry . It won't happen again." I said lowly while walking out the store , once i got out the store a whole bunch of boys were posted on the corner playing dice.
I quickly pulled out my phone and pretended to act as if i was texting somebody so i would seem busy.
"Miyoko when you gone stop playing with me and let me take you." Dustin said while wrapping his arms around me "let me get your number."
I was afraid if i didn't speak back or give him my number he'd end up shooting me . I sucked my teeth and scrunched up face "my phone off so how about you give me your number and I'll give you a call once i pay the bill." I blurted out while saying the first lie that popped up in my mind
He smacked his teeth "you was just texting on your phone but it's off though. stop playing with me miyoko." He chucked while walking me to the bus stop
I rolled my eyes and laughed " I'm so serious Dustin , i was only texting cause it's WiFi back there . now let me go" i begged as i tried to escape from his grip
He sucked his teeth "be safe beautiful Igh?." He let go of me and i nodded my head and smiled .
I got to the bus stop and sat down waiting on the next bus .
"Do you have spare change baby?." I heard a voice call out from behind me . I looked back and the elder lady was carrying a baby on her hip and i frowned
"I'm sorry i only have a dollar on me for the bus if i had ch—." I was cut short by the lady rolling her eyes and smacking her teeth
"Broke girl." She mumbled while walking away . I scoffed then rolled my eyes and got up to get onto the bus .

Once i finally arrived to my destination i walked around the woods while touching the trees .
I finally found my resting spot I grabbed the blunt that was tucked behind my ear and placed it in between my lips while laying my notebook opened reading over what i already had written down.
I could see swift movements out of the side of eye and it got worse the more i smoke the blunt . I seen a dark figure move out of the corner of my eye and looked to see what it was and nothing was there .

"miyoko." I heard the familiar voice call out . the sweet angelic voice was my grandma that passed away a couple years back .
"grandma?." I called out while looking to the side of me . She sat down next to me and kept her eyes straight forward "How you like it up there ? What's your view from there?." I asked
a smile crept upon her face and the sun beamed down on her beautiful brown complexion "it's beautiful just like you."
"I bet it's so cool to jet across the moon , that's how i pictured you in my head." I chuckled while laying my hand on top of her hers "it's hard getting out of bed ever since you left . I really don't got nothin' left. Walkin around dead." I opened my pill bottle and threw a pill into my mouth . I closed the bottle and placed it back inside my small purse
She gave my hand a tight squeezand placed her head onto my shoulder "you use to bring me here every time i would get upset with my mom." I hung my head down low " it's crazy how i can stare into empty space and see your eyes . I close my eyes sometimes and hear your voice and you call my name."
"I haven't been able to write anything good since you left." I added on while i looked through my poem book.
I heard movement behind me and i looked back "You come here often?." I heard a voice call as he stood around while looking around the woods
"As often as i can." I stated while feeling the urge to write . I grabbed the pen and began to write down what came to my mind.
"Why so?." He stated while taking a seat next to me .
a smile crept across my face " because it's peaceful , it's where i write and clear my mind." I looked around and heard the birds singing "i really adore the silence."
"What kind of stuff do you write?." He asked while looking down at my book "In my rose garden of memories, I see you standing there, An angel in disguise, Who taught me how to care." He read out loud.
I looked up at him and scrunched up my face "are you kidding me? You can't just read my shit." I pointed at my book "this is my private stuff." I covered the page with my hand

he chuckled "my bad , I'm sorry . I was just wondering what you wrote about." I looked up at him and scoffed " i write poetry."
"Deadass? bro that's dope as fuck." He laughed while clapping his hand together "so you're life a real life poet?." He scooted closer to me "i never met one. that's cute , you're cute." He mumbled
I shook my head and looked down then i stared off into the woods "you really aren't going to let me write?." I looked back over at him
"Oh of course , ima let you sit here and write. Don't mind me. Do ya' thing."
"I can't anymore." I chuckled
"I didn't even say anything."
"You didn't have to , you're so close to me." I tried to push him away "can't you find another tree to sit by?." I sighed "anywhere but here." I mumbled
"See i could but i like this spot right here." He smiled
I started at him blank and he rolled his eyes "alright fine." He scooted over a bit' "go ahead and write."
I bit down on the side of my lip and tapped my pencil against the sheet but i just couldn't come up with something to finish off with . I'm pretty sure it was the stranger that next to me keeping me from writing.
"I'm sorry i can't." I mumbled while looking up at him "you ruined it."
"You only write when nobody's around?." I shrugged my shoulders
and indeed that was true . I couldn't write when others around . I need to be alone so i could listen to music and get lost in my thoughts so i could write when others were around it just did nothing but distract me and people annoyed me
"That's depressing." He scrunched up his face
I shook my head no while laughing "yeah only if you don't like to be alone."I pointed towards myself "and i like to be alone to be honest if i could be alone for the rest of my life i would."
"Why is that?."
"I guess i wanted to find peace." I placed a small piece of hair behind my ear.
He leaned back and twisted his lip to the side while looking up at me "well you can create your own peace."
"How so?." I was actually interested in what he had
"Peace comes within." He laughed while i looked away. I brought my knees up to my chest and laid my head down on my knees.
"I'm so serious, it's so much in life. that's out of our control and we if we sat around and waited for the perfect conditions to create some bullshit we will literally never get anything done." He looked around the woods. "Sometimes you gotta just block out the noise."
I chuckled "why are you out here anyway?."
"Road—tripping for the summer i started out on the east and i kind of just make my way out." He said pointing towards the east way.
"you drive around with no destination?." I asked
"see i don't need one , i go wherever the wind takes me and somehow i ended up here with you."
"Oh wow you're insane."
"Probably but you should come with me."
I scrunched up my face at him and folded my arms across my chest "what?."
"Yeah let's take a trip together." He got up from laying down and sat crisscrossed.
"You're nuts . I don't even know you." I chuckled
he shrugged his shoulders " oh well , my name is Adonis and my favorite color is green and oh I'm a Scorpio and also I'm afraid of the dark . I deceived to
take a year off and explore the world." He stood up
And dusted the dirt off of him."and then i met you so how about i let you in on a little secret?."
I looked up at him and smile plastered on my face "yeah what's that?."
"I don't believe in coincidence but i think this." He pointed his fingers towards me and him "was meant to be , the universe wanted us to meet."
"I can't just leave I'm sorry." I frowned
"Why not?." He nugged me "do you have something very important going on today or tomorrow?."
"Well for starters i have a job."
"for starters you do poetry that's your job , you can do that everywhere." He bent down and touched my face
I shook my head no while smiling "listen if you come with me your only job would be to have fun aigh?."he added on "matter of fact , what's your name?."
"miyoko." I mumbled
"Miyoko." He smiled "that's a beautiful name."
"It means beautiful child." I stated while chuckling "thank you though."
"Miyoko , come on this trip with me."

The Last Marshal
Weird West Fantasy Noir Once the Republic Marshals brought order to the chaotic lands along the Frontier, facing dangers both human and supernatural with ancient wisdom and a six-gun —but that was a long time ago. Destroyed by conspiracy and betrayal, all that remains of that secretive order is one nameless man on a trek though the West seeking revenge on the woman he blames for the Marshals' fall and his disgrace. When a visitor from our world joins him on his journey, they together must confront the horrors of a strange land, the mysteries of the past and the real meaning of their quest for justice. The world of Tellus is what 19th Century Earth would have looked like if the stories of Poe, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgeson were real. History in this world moves slower. The old faiths persist and civilization never conquered the dark corners of the map, at least not without being inextricably changed. Technology and culture takes a little longer to evolve in this land, as people here tend to spend more time pursuing their elaborate revenge plots or trying to avoid being the next sacrifice to the Outer Gods rather than advancing science or statecraft. Imagine Cormac McCarthy by way of Edgar Rice Burroughs, though a little less testosterone-drenched than that description would imply. Three caveats: First, there are deep mysteries here, including how such a world came to be and who controls it. Second, this world is not wholly unconnected from our own. There is a historical point of divergence, but in the distant past. To paraphrase Twain: history in this world is not a repeat of our own, but it does often rhyme. And finally, this is not a setting that lends itself to happy endings.

Disclaimer: This novel is clearly tagged gore, and this within reason, so please keep that in mind while reading.
