hi everyone and welcome back to the Elvis Duran show! Today we have a special guest, you may know him as the "Bradford Badboy" or the "One Who Left One Direction." Everybody please welcome Zayn Malik! (audience cheers)

Zayn makes his way out to the stage and sits down on the chair next to Elvis.

my pleasure, so how is the Zayn Malik today?

(laughs) I'm doing quite well if ya ask me, how bout yourself?

I'm fine as well. Now Zayn, let's talk Icarus Falls, how was the recording process, how long did it take you to record everything and get the album to how you wanted?

well the recording process was excellent, I had a lot of fun writing the songs I wanted to sing and producing the beats for them. As for how long it took me, I started writing a few months after Mind of Mine was released and I was done, I'd say in like 5-6 months. So yeah I wrote them pretty fast and I had to fix them up a little and you know, produce the music for them. I actually had it done way before its actual release date but RCA kept postponing it. But here we are now, number 1 on iTunes and I can't thank my fans enough for that (audience cheers)

I really love the album and congratulations on number 1 Zayn.

next question, Harry Styles (audience cheers) What was it like mending your broken friendship from when you left the band to now basically being the power couple of the century?

(laughs and fidgets) well I said some things I shouldn't have said once leaving the band which really affected all my relationships with the boys but we're all in a good place right now and me and Harry absolutely enjoy each others company and just being around each other. I couldn't ask for anything more out of my partner, I mean he does it all (laughs) I just love him so much and can't thank him enough for putting up with me and doing everything he does for me. Oh and we definitely are the power couple (Elvis, Zayn, and audience laugh)

aw, well I'm really happy for you guys. Now speaking of the band, is there anything you would like to change going back to the One Direction days?

ermm well, I know I've said this but I'm going to say it again, I wish I had more input on the songs. You know, seeing every one of the boys getting their input on the songs and me not just kind of hurt me in a way. I wanted to put forth my effort into the songs and getting denied is what kind of started my anxiety and all that. I feel like I was just being denied while Harry, Louis, Liam, and Niall were getting their opinions in all the time. But I wouldn't want to change anything else, those 5 years were the best time of my life and I met 4 guys for life that are brothers to me, besides Harry obviously (laughs).

still on the band, would you ever consider rejoining?

ermm I wouldn't say no completely if I'm being honest. I think for me to rejoin I would have to have my inputs on the songs and not me just singing whatever management wants me to sing ya know? I would love to travel the world again with my 4 best mates but time will tell. I completely don't know yet, that would have to be a decision I talk to my family about and I have time to think about.

ok switching gears back into relationships. How are you and Gigi? Are you guys still friends?

oh yeah, erm we aren't really on speaking terms at the moment but you know, I wish her the best in her career and maybe we'll meet up one day. But as of right now, we aren't speaking.

May I ask why you guys aren't speaking? And do you plan on ever getting back with her if things go wrong with Harry?

I'd rather not say why and no I don't plan on getting back together. We went our separate ways and that's how it's going to stay, I plan on being with Harry the rest of my life and that's not changing.
