"Good afternoon Ethel!" I waved at her, who waved back at me grinning.
"How are you dear?" She wheeled herself over towards me, and I bent down in front of her grabbing a gentle hold of her hand.
"I'm very well today, you?"
Ethel laughed. "I wish I was still young like you Zayn!"
"Young?! Like me! Gosh, Ethel you haven't aged a bit!" A smile grew on Ethel's face, and it just warmed my heart.
"Thank you very much Zayn,"
"No problem love. I'll be back in a bit, I've got to go help Alfred turn on his television,"
Ethel shook her head, chuckling lightly. "That man!"
I let go of her hand and stood up. "I'll be back love,"
Ethel smiled at me, waving goodbye as I walked over to the elevators to take one up to Alfred's room which was on the top floor.
When I arrived at Alfred's room door, I knocked, then poked my head in to see him sat on his bed fiddling with the remote.
"Hello Alfie!" I grinned at him walking in.
"Oh! 'Ello Zayn!" He spoke. "I can't seem to get this television on! football is playing today and I can't miss it,"
I gently took the remote out of Alfred's hand and turned the television on and changed it to channel 35 which was his sports channel.
"Thank you very much Zayn," Alfred smiled up at me.
"No problem. Anything else i could do to help?" I questioned Alfred and he shook his head.
"No, but I will be sure to call you if there is."
"Okay then. If anything i'm here," I told Alfred before walking out of his room and back downstairs.

Being here was the greatest.
When my volunteer hours had come to an end for the day, I grabbed my backpack and headed out into my care driving home.
When arriving home, my mum was finishing up dinner and Leigh was setting the table.
"Hello Zayn!" My mum turned to stove off as she was done and came to give me a hug.
"Hi mum," I smiled at her, and put my bag down in the living room before sitting down at the table.
"Where's Jade?" I asked Leigh who was setting the table in front of me.
She rolled her eyes. Sighing, she said; "With that boyfriend of hers."
Leigh and Jade were both much older than me, Leigh had graduated already Uni, and Jade graduating this year.
I'm only a high school senior.
"How's your girlfriend?" I smirked at Leigh who was tying her curly hair up in a bun.
I loved messing with her about Perrie. Whenever Perrie was mentioned, Leigh would turn into a blushing mess.
Leigh looked away, of course, blushing madly. "She's well." Leigh spoke softly, sitting down.
"Now Zayn, don't bother Leigh." Mum laughed, placing dinner onto the table in front of us, then sitting down.
"But they've been together since Leigh was a freshman in high school! Leigh still hasn't gotten over the fact that she scored big time?! Hey Leigh, at the time wasn't Perrie the girl that everyone wanted?" I grinned at her.
"She's mine though," Leigh was always very protective when it came to Perrie.
"I even wanted her!"
Mum shook her head. "Zee, let's eat now, okay?"
I nodded, waiting for mum and Leigh to serve themselves.
After dinner, I helped Leigh put the dishes away.
"When's the next time I can see that beautiful girlfriend of yours?" I asked, handing Leigh one of the dishes I had just washed for her to dry.

"Next week." Leigh said. "She's sleeping over."
I raised my eyebrows, smirking and Leigh pushed me playfully.
"Zayn lets just do these dishes, and get on with our lives!" Leigh looked away, her cheeks roses red.
I loved what Perrie did to her.
"Can I just ask one more question?" I asked Leigh, who nodded. "When's the last time you saw her?"
Leigh sighed. "About 2 months ago.. She's on a trip in Thailand. You can come with me to pick her up at the airport next week if you want."
I smiled. "I'd love to,"
That night, before I went to bed Louis - my best friend texted me.
I rolled my eyes. Louis had been talking about this boyfriend of his since last month and never even told me a thing about him.
Louis didn't reply for another 20 minutes after that.
I gasped. Not Liam. Liam's the hottest guy in school. Everyone wants Liam.
And my best friend got him.
I chuckled. Yes he did.
Later that night, Louis had left, and I had watched Netflix until falling asleep.

The Nomad: A Starforged ttrpg Playthrough
Life in The Forge is rarely fun, least of all when you've got an AI that wants to turn you over to the authorities, a stolen ship full of creepy cult shit, and you've pissed off the only guy in the Devil's Helix who doesn't want you dead through sheer incompetence. Unfortunately for Ash, worst courier in the helix, that's his day-to-day. When he gets offered an opportunity to get back into this boss's good graces (and finally get something decent to eat), Ash jumps at the chance, even if that means getting tangled back up with figures he'd rather leave in the past. This is a solo play log of Shawn Tomkin's ttrpg Starforged, as such, even I don't know what's going to happen next! Enjoy the ride!
