《Finding them》Chapter 22

The next day the twins were still cautious around everyone and the house but were doing ok. They had sort out Addy and there older brothers and stayed close to Big Kota, Addy and Hunty who they seemed to be closer with. Jamie and Eddie didn't mind as those three had spent more time with the twins then them but now the weekend was here it was suppose to be time for the twins to bond with Eddie and Jamie as well as there grandparents and uncle who would be coming over for lunch. Daniel uninvited his parents though and his dad understood but his mother was fuming.
The twins didn't let go of each other at all after falling asleep yesterday. They also slept on top of Daniel and flinched at any loud noises. They barely ate any food in the afternoon and Darcy has several accidents in her pants which they all assumed were caused by the incident that had taken place.
Daniel had spoken to his brother the night before and explained what had happened with there mother. To say Bill was annoyed with his mother was an understatement. He was thrilled though he was still going to meet his niece and nephew for lunch and made sure it was still ok after what had happened with his mother. Bill was upset he wasn't going to get to see his father though but he would organised to see them at a later date. Bill had never been close to the woman at all, he found he overbearing and domineering, if she was a male she would be classed as abusive.
Jamie had made bacon and scrambled eggs for breakfast for everyone as he knew that the twins liked bacon, especially Dakota who had struggled the most because he had always been strong for his sister. Eddie has brought the twins downstairs which had become his every day routine and Daniel had jumped in the shower quickly as he hadn't been able to shower last night with the twins falling asleep on him.
"Morning munchkins" Jamie chirped out earning a groan from Eddie, this was an every day occurrence now but what caught everyone's attention was Dakota groaning just like Eddie had done every morning. "Did he just groan at me?" Jamie asked shocked. Eddie couldn't help but laugh nodding his head yes to his older brother. "High five dude that was awesome" Eddie say to Dakota holding up his hand waiting for Dakota to high five him. Dakota flinched back thinking Eddie was going to hit him. "Shit sorry bud, you tap my hand and it's called a high five" Eddie tried to explain. He didn't even think about what he was doing until he saw how it had affected Dakota.

Jamie and Eddie demonstrated how to do a high five for the twins and the twins copied high fiving each other other while Darcy called out "shit". She had heard her older brother say it so thought that was what you said when you high fived someone. "What did you say?" Jamie asked his baby sister not believing what had just come out of her mouth. Darcy looked at Jamie like he was crazy, not knowing what he meant. "When you high fived Dakota what did you say?" Jamie asked again. Darcy kept her mouth closed she didn't know what Jamie was talking about. All she did was high five like they had shown her how to do. Jamie let it go thinking he must of heard wrong.
Hunter and Mitchell headed into the kitchen. "Hey Darcy and Dakota show Mitty and Hunty what I taught you" Eddie told the twins proud he had taught them something. Darcy and Dakota again high fived with Darcy calling out "shit". Jamie was stunned he had heard her right the first time. Hunter tried not to laugh while Mitchell glared at Eddie. "You taught her to swear? Dad is going to kill you" Mitchell fumed. "No no no. I taught them to high five I don't know why she is saying Shit" Eddie raced out. "You better unteach her before dad hears" Jamie added.
Daniel stepped into the kitchen seeing all his children. He smiled and asked "unteach Darcy what?" Daniel asked all his children. "Wook Addy" Darcy called happy with herself. Her and Dakota again high fived with now both twins saying "shit" as there hands touched. Dakota and Darcy were smiling while Hunter was again trying not to laugh. Daniel was shocked, "did they just say what I think they said?" He asked. "Dad wait I can explain" Eddie rushed out. "You taught your little brother and sister how to swear?" Daniel asked Eddie. "No no I taught them how to high five" Eddie tried to explain. Hunter couldn't help but start laughing. "Oh my god that's the cutest swear word I have ever heard" he laughed out. "I need to get this on camera" Hunter laughed reaching for his phone. Daniel glared at Hunter who sobered up quickly smart. "I didn't teach them Eddie did" Hunter stated before grabbing his breakfast and heading to the table to eat.

Daniel had to explained to the twins that shit wasn't a nice word ending up with Darcy crying because she thought she was bad. Eddie felt horrible but he hadn't thought when he swore in front of them. Darcy had in fact been copying more words that each of them were saying and was talking more and more. Daniel had told his older sons that swearing needed to stop in the house so the twins didn't repeat it but Eddie let one slip and now his sister was upset.
When everyone was calmed down and breakfast was finished Eddie and Jamie took Darcy and Dakota outside with the ball. They wanted to teach them how to throw and catch a ball. As they got to the grass Eddie put down a blue ball while Jamie put the red ball down. Immediately Darcy ran to the red ball, she liked anything red. She picked up the ball and cuddle it to her chest. Eddie and Dakota started to play around with the ball. Eddie was teaching Dakota to kick the ball and then they would both chase the ball around the yard. Dakota was laughing with Eddie.
Jamie coaxed Darcy eventually to put the ball on the ground, and then he kicked the ball softly across the grass. Darcy screamed and began to cry. Daniel heard and came running along with Hunter and Mitchell while Eddie looked on trying to work out what happened. Dakota ran to his sister while Jamie stood there stunned. "What happened?" Daniel rushed over to his daughter checking if she was hurt but not seeing anything. Dakota was glaring at Jamie while holding his sister to his chest. "I kicked the ball" Jamie stuttered out. "And?" Daniel asked waiting for the rest of the story. Jamie shook his head not knowing what else happened.
Darcy and Dakota were talking gibberish through her sobs while Dakota comforted his sister. Mitchell walked over to the red ball picking it up and handing it back to Darcy who pulled the ball into her chest cuddling it like it was a baby. She immediately stopped crying when she had the ball in her arms. "Umm what the ...?" Hunter asked. "Mine red" Darcy said while glaring at Jamie. "I'm sorry?" Jamie said not know what was happening. "No kick red" Dakota told Jamie who nodded his head. Everyone broke into laughs at the fact Darcy had reacted that way because of Jamie kicking a ball. "Oh god, your face was so good. You looked mortified" Mitchell laughed at Jamie who was still being glared at by Darcy.
Dakota had gone back to play ball with Eddie. "Yeh it was priceless, Darcy shouldn't Jamie say sorry to red?" Hunter asked his sister who nodded her head holding the red ball out to Jamie. "Umm sorry?" Jamie said causing Daniel, Mitchell and Hunter to laugh at him again. Darcy walked over to Jamie and pulled on his leg so he knelt down and she gave Jamie a kiss on the cheek causing Jamie to break out in a huge smile while the others looked shocked. The twins rarely showed affection to anyone but each other. Mitchell, Hunter and even Daniel were stunned and a little jealous to be honest.

This was my entry for National Novel Writing Month, because why only write one series at a time? The more the merrier! (meanwhile, my keyboard bursts into flames...) I'm also the writer of The Last Science, an ongoing low-fantasy/speculative sci-fi series. If you're familiar with that, you know what to expect here: lots of character-focused drama and dialogue, not a whole lot of traditional action. However, I'm writing a bit differently than usual here, and in a very different structure, so there should be some surprises for returning readers. I hope you enjoy it! [Discord] — for those of you who want to hang out and chat. Cover art (fullsize): Path of Revelation, by taenaron (Tobias Roetsch), modified by Etzoli. Normally I like to do my own cover art from scratch, but I was in a rush for the contest. Might be replaced down the line if I get time. Bow of the North
In game of thrones i felt that the Starks received way too much hardships and tragedy. i know that there were vital points of story, and there were times these hardships were building points for their characters, but i feel when every member of a family has been either killed, raped or crippled then they deserve a break. In my story that break comes in the form of a powerful hunter/general from another world. I have no intention of altering the story to save every stark, or have them win every time, and some of my favourite characters may even be victims of this plot change as well. edited The main character, and there will be several new characters introduced to the storyline, will not just be some over powered guy who makes outrageous decisions that always work out (cough Plot armour) but will be someone that treats the world as a real world and has fears, doubts and is cautious in his decisions. He is susceptible to changing his mind and character traits depending on his experiences in this life. The story will primarily follow the plot at the beginning with some minor changes, and as more things change they will increase till the entire story is changed at the end. I am not copying the world of GoT exactly. cultures, politics and nobility may be changed or made up.
