《pixie dust | nico di angelo ✔️》eight - life at chb is never easy

I mean, I guess for me it is. I can never really say these thoughts out loud. I've recently found out that not every demigod were privileged like I was. Apparently, most demigods have a tough childhood, always chased by monsters or whatnot, barely or not receiving any protection from their godly parent.

But here I was, a prissy whiny teenage brat who's currently struggling with training.

Only yesterday did Hazel and Frank return to Camp Jupiter, it was a sad departure.

flashback

"HAZEL, CAN'T YOU STAY HERE FOREVER?" I sobbed clinging on her leg to prevent her from going.

Hazel laughed nervously, "Treya, I told you already, I'm coming back. You've already made friends with your half siblings, go make some friends with other demigods,"

"BUT I LIKE YOU THE MOST,"

We were lucky there were no other campers around because it would have been very embarrassing for me to wail around because her favorite friend had to go.

"HEY! I THOUGHT YOU LIKED ME THE MOST?!" Leo butt in, trying to pry me off Hazel's leg.

I sniffled, "I only said that so you'd give me a piece of Wagyu Steak you had the other day,"

"Oh no you little traitor-"

"Treya," Hazel smiled, kneeling down to my level which was on the ground of the Big House porch.

"I promise I'll be back. Lou— your siblings will take care of you, okay? Promise me you'll learn magic in a nick of time,"

I wiped my tears, "I promise,"

It was sadder than any other telenovelas so that's a great plus point. Other than that, it was extremely embarrassing. But totally worth it, being friends with Hazel was like befriending kindness itself.

I was slowly but surely adjusting to camp. The hardest part was training of course, but I wasn't also a fan of our cabin being darkness itself. But my siblings said they couldn't do anything about it because children of Hecate, just like Hecate, has more power at night.

In other terms, we were pretty much weak during the day.

My daily routine at Camp Half Blood was pretty much the same as other campers except for the fact that in our free time, instead of lazing around or finding weapons, my five siblings always tried their best to train me sorcery.

To be honest, I wasn't doing well with the other training. I wasn't good with swords, archery, spears, basically everything. I did a little bit better with swords, but I was still horrible at it.

My sorcery training, however, pays off well. We wished we could train more at night but the harpies roamed and we wouldn't want to be midnight snack to harpies. Not to mention my siblings would immediately get tired after a few minutes of teaching me, so they took turns.

"Get up, you little brat! No time for resting!" Ella, a daughter of Ares, yelled at me as I wallowed on the ground. It had been the fifth time that she won against me today, but that was no surprise.

I groaned, "Five minutes?"

Ella's nose twitched, "If you don't get up in five seconds, I'll stab you myself!"

I willed all my power to stab the ground with my sword and stood up groggily.

"Stance!" Ella yelled before charging at me with full speed, and I barely had any time to think. Ella was dead serious. She was not only going to stab me but I think she was going to impale me with her sword.

And her sword, was at least three times longer than my own.

I took a deep breath, and chanted as quickly as I could. Ella saw what I was doing but before she could yell at me for cheating, I casted the mist upon myself and stepped back.

Ella stopped and furiously looked around. I wasn't too sure with what Ella could see, but she stomped her foot and yelled.

"TREYA IF YOU DON'T REVEAL YOURSELF I'M GONNA MAKE YOU KP FOR THREE MONTHS!" She screamed with all her voice, scaring the other campers who were also practicing.

But KP? There was no way in Hell I was gonna be stuck in the kitchen for three months.

"Okay! Okay!" I surrendered, slowly rewinding the chant, hence, undoing the mist I've done.

Ella spotted me and glared before charging at me again without warning.

And that kids, is how I ended up in the infirmary with a bruised body and several cuts.

Normally, children of Ares taught how to wield a sword but my siblings said it just depended on who was a better swordsman.

I laughed to myself as I munched on the small piece of ambrosia given to me by a medic, thinking how I'm gonna get killed inside Camp Half Blood before other monsters do.

I started feeling drowsy but someone entered the infirmary, someone familiar to me.

I sat up straight and watched the person as he walked by. He talked to some of the medics, and they gave him ambrosia and a tumbler with nectar. He started walking out but I must've been staring at him too much because he turned to me with a look on his face that said 'who tf?'

I was going to say hi but he sped up and walked out of the door.

"He's so friendly," I muttered to no one

The medic tending to my wounds did hear me though for she laughed out loud.

"That's Nico for you,"

"He's...the son of Hades, right?"

The child of Apollo nodded, "The one and only,"
