《A Daughter of Thanatos( Nico di Angelo )》Chapter 31

Nico's P.O.V.
I wanted to kill him.
No, rip him to shreds.
Jake Lewis is goddamn dead to me.
"Now Nico. You know it's rude to think such horrible things about me." He grinned slyly at me, showing off the teeth that will soon be bleeding once I get out.
"You should thank me. I saved you from that annoying girl."
I gritted my teeth.
He does not have the right to say Clare was annoying. Only I had that right.
"Ooh? Did I just hit a nerve?" He smiled at me, walking closer.
"Such a dependant girl she is, no? I mean she can't even keep herself together just over a little stupid crush." I rolled my eyes.
He looked over at me innocently. "Do you even know who her silly, little crush is, Nico?"
I smirked at him. "Of course I do. It's me."
He smirked back at me. "Good guess, but no."
My smirk dropped and my eyes widened. "What?"
"She likes my nephew, Eric." He sighed and frowned. "I'd rather have her fall in love with his brother. He is just like me."
I made a face and wanted to gag. No way in hell is she going to fall in love with any of those boys. She can only fall for me.
But what have you done to make her see the light from all the darkness you carry around.
I slumped.
"Why do you think she is putting up with you? So she can get this over with then come back to her oh so sweet Eric." He stared right at me.
"Face it, Nico. Your just a piece of gum stuck on her shoe. Once this is over, she'll get a new pair of shoes, and leave you behind."
"That's not true!" I growled.
He raised an eyebrow at me. "Let's just ask Clarissa. See for yourself."
Clare's here?
"Clarissa, honey, come out please." Two guys came out holding a sick looking Clare.
"What did you do to her!" I gasped looking at all the bruises on her body.
"This can't be real..." I whispered.
He smiled. "Is it? Is this really just your imagination."
"Nico..." She whispered. Her wide eyes looked directly at me.
"Where's Eric?" Tears welled up in her eyes and she began to sob his name.

"Eric! Eric!" She searched frantically around the room.
I gritted my teeth again. "Eric isn't here." I told her slowly.
She looked at me. "Then where is he?"
"Six feet underground if you don't SHUT THE HELL UP!"
She broke down crying on the ground crying sobbing his name.
This isn't Clare. If I told her this, she would be already whacking my head with the hilt of her sword and cursing like a sailor at me.
I relaxed and smirked at Jake.
"You had me there." I said. "Too bad I wasn't an idiot."
I spat on his face and he grabbed his knife. "I think you've got it wrong, Nico,"
He grabbed "Clare" and brought her up. "You really are an idiot." He slit Clare's throat and fresh dark blood rolled down her neck and down. The tears from her eyes stopped coming down and I looked into her soulless body.
I looked away.
That was not Clare. That was not Clare.
I kept repeating that to myself.
"Hey, mister Psycho! Wrong girl." My head snapped up to look at the real Clare. Determination was in her eyes and I felt power radiate off her.
"B-T-W, You will never, NEVER, get to slit my throat like that."
She charged at him and he easily blocked her.
She was looking like she was winning.
She kept on slashing and striking at him, but he changed the odds. He began to become more rough with his movements and it didn't seem like Clare was able to handle it anymore.
"Nico!" Someone whispered to me.
I turned to where it had come from and saw Shadow. "When did you get here?" I asked her.
"When Clare got in. I'm really good for coming in unnoticed." She said, actually looking pretty proud.
I nodded and motioned my head at my hands. "Well?"
She 'ohhed' and cut me free. "You have my sword?" I asked.
She shook her head and I sighed. "What do you have?" She showed me some daggers, guns, and some whacking stick. "Two daggers." She handed them to me and I went straight for Jake's back for a surprise attack, but he must've knew I was coming because he blocked me.
He had all his focus on me for just a second, but it was enough for Clare to make a cut on his side.

He hissed, backing away from us.
"Care to explain why my twin is lying on the ground, her throat sliced?" We backed away from Jake and looked at each other like prey.
"Ask the psychopath." I answered, feeling happy that I was able to fight right beside her.
She scoffed. "Yeah, maybe we'll have a cup of tea after the bloodbath. Have some tiny sammiches and go off into the sunset. Yeah, no."
I grinned, missing her smart tongue.
"Just kill him already, dumb-ass." She looked like she was about to throw her sword at him, instead she smacks my head with the flat part of it.
"Damsels first." She said, challenging me.
I shrugged and walked off, leaving her surprised.
"Where's Selene?" I asked.
He smirked. "Like I'd tell you."
Clare rolled her eyes. "Of course you won't."
"What is that suppose to mean?" He asked her.
"Well, it's pretty cliche if you think about it. Bad guy, good guy. Good guy wants to know some info to do something that makes them a hero, but the bad guy is all like 'Whoa, no way man. I'm evil and Ima stop you,' but good guy is all like 'Bish please, I can do anything I want.' Then they start fighting, but then bad guy says it after all and it both could've saved them time if he just said it."
"Are you done?" He asked, yawning.
"Yeah, I think so."
He smiled. "Good." He started at us and I saw it coming.
He tried to hit Clare, but I deflected it. "Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah..." I pushed his sword away.
He smirked and swung at me. I was barely able to dodge it. "Hey, Hero," Clare turned to me. "...You should use your 'womanly powers' now." She grinned and nodded eagerly.
She turned to Jake. "You know Jake, being a girl is pretty hard."
He scoffed. "Sure, it is. Always being saved by the guy, getting away with things just by pouting your lips. How excruciating."
Her is blazed with something horrible, and I felt kinda bad for the dude.
"Those are the fucking advantages, idiot! We are burdened with periods! CRAMPS. BLOOD COMING FROM OUR COOKIES!!! NO, BUT YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND. YOU'RE JUST A DUDE."
I apologize if she has offended any of you, 'cause it sure as hell offended me.
She charged at him with so much anger, he looked like he was about to get hit by a bull.
I am really thankful that Clare has her period.
I ran after them and helped Clare.
I took his collar from her and shoved him on the wall.
"You're going to tell us where Selene is or else I'm going to let Clare go."
I noticed Shadow holding down Clare before she rips him to shreds.
"Upstairs. You'll... find her... upstairs."
I gave him once last punch on the face and left him there.
We went upstairs and found the goddess tied up and gagged.
"Shit..." Shadow cursed.
"Hi, Selene. We're here to save you." Clare said slowly, making sure she knew we were on her side.
Selene shook her head, tears pouring out of her eyes.
"Guys, we're here!" Andy said showing an unconscious Cole.
Clare pointed towards Cole and Andy waved her off. "Why'd you guys take so long?" Shadow asked.
"Erm, hello? Dragged an unconscious teenage boy up two flights of stairs. That's some hard stuff."
Shadow rolled her eyes and slapped Cole on the face.
He immediately shot up. "Andy!" She smiled and kissed his cheek.
"Here."
Why doesn't Clare do that to me?
'Cause you're not her boyfriend.
I averted my gaze back to the goddess and tried to step closer to her.
That's when I heard a familiar scream.
"She's here! She's here!" Clare said, clutching to her head.
"Who's here?" I asked gently.
She looked at me through her teary eyes and whispered so faintly that I almost didn't hear her.
"Violet."
DUN. DUN. BOOM. Violet's back, uh-oh...
That is bad, reaaaaally bad.
