Andy's P.O.V.
I was holding hands with Cole watching Friends when he shifted a bit.
"You okay?" I asked him. He nodded and smiled at me. "It's just- you're my first girlfriend. I-I don't really know this stuff works... Well, except for the romance movies my mom made me watch with her."
I smiled and pinched his cheeks. "Did you watch a lot?" He nodded. "Which one was your favorite?"
He bit his lip and furrowed his eyebrows. "Hmm, I think it would be Sleepless in Seattle or Pretty Woman. I thought they were pretty good."
My jaw dropped. "What about the Notebook? Titanic? The Vow?" I asked him quickly.
He smiled down at me. "They were good too, but I had the most fun with my mom when we were watching it together." I mentally 'awed.'
He is such a mama's boy.
"Don't you still watch it now?" I asked.
His gave me a sad smile.
"She passed last year." Cole said sadly and I frowned.
His mom died last year... I thought quietly.
He saw my frown and immediately put on a big, fake smile. "I'm okay now, so don't worry about it. She's in a better place now. I'm happy for her." I rested my head on his shoulder and he rested his head on my head.
"What was your mom's name?" I asked quietly. "Camille Anderson." I nodded and hugged him tightly.
"That's a pretty name." I closed my eyes and snuggled close to Cole. "Mmhnm..." Cole hummed.
We drifted off to sleep on the couch that night.
Shadow's P.O.V
I woke up the next morning with puffy eyes. "Ugh..." I groaned.
I rolled out of bed and went into my bathroom. I washed my face and tried to lose the 'I-cried-myself-to-sleep-because-the-one-I-like-is-with-someone-else' look.
I decided to take a shower instead cuz it's been like forever since I last took one. My hair is oily, and I can't handle having oily hair. It's just the worst.
I hopped into the hot water and began singing choruses from songs from Green Day, Ed Sheeran, and a bit of the Fray.
I call it Gresheeraying. Cool right? No? Well, as they say, the haters gonna hate, hate, hate.
HAHAHAHA. NO. I'm not gonna quote Taylor Swift in my entire life. She's alright, but Ed's more my type.
I finished rinsing my hair and grabbed my towel.
I walked out and quickly changed.
I went into the kitchen where everyone was eating breakfast and reluctantly sat at the only available seat which happened to be right next to Andy.
Curse me. Please.
"Hey Shad's." She smiled at me and I felt my heart melt.
UGHHHHHHH......!
Why does Andy have to have this huge effect on me? I don't get it thought. Why does it have to be her?
I smiled before stuffing my face with pancakes. "Khif!" I pointed towards one of the knives and she handed it to me. "Thanks." I said after swallowing.
"Hey, Shadow," Clare began. "Yeah?" I asked. "I want to talk to you after you finish, kay?" She looked at me seriously, but smiled. I also smiled and nodded. She excused herself and left the room.
"I'll be leaving too." Nico said as he left.
Things became pretty awkward when Cole and Andy began talking cute. Well, for me it did.
"Why are you so cute?" She asked him. Insert my barf right there.
"No, why do you have to be so cute?" He asked her. Well, of course she's cute. She's Andy. She's also perfect if you ask me.

"Nuh-uh! I am not cute. I'm Andy, silly!" She laughed and punched him on the arm.
"Right..." He smiled at her and I wanted that to be me smiling at Andy.
"You look so much like a puppy!" She exclaimed. He blushed. "Well, you look like a fish."
I couldn't help it and began to laugh out loud. Quite obnoxiously, too. "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!! HE CALLED YOU A FISH!!!" Tears were streaming down the corners of my eyes.
She pouted. "But fishes are my favorite type of animal! I used to have a lot of them. You remind me of Lola. She was my very first pet fish." He said.
She squealed and kissed him on the cheek. "Aww! You are now nominated for " She said in a booming voice.
He kissed her and stayed that way until I became very uncomfortable.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed my stack of pancakes, then left.
Too much PDA in the morning. I sighed and shook my head.
The picture of them kissing was stuck in my brain. "Annoying asshole." I glared ahead of me and cursed. "I seriously want to murder that douche."
I angrily finished my stack of pancakes.
Clarissa P.O.V.
I walked out quickly and heard footsteps behind me. I turned around that person bumped into me.
Nico.
"Sorry, Nico, but I have something to do right now." I tried to walk away, but he grabbed my wrist.
"Clare, I know you've been avoiding me." He whispered into my ear.
Well, if you hadn't freaked me out by kissing me and leaving me even more fucking confused, we wouldn't be in this mess. Would we?
"I'm not avoiding you, Nico. Now will you please let me go?" I asked politely.
"See, you're being nice and you let me have the last pancake instead of fighting me for it." He said.
I sighed. "I just don't want to get into any fights. I just want to get this quest over with and let things get back to normal. Well, as normal as they can get at least." I said trying to get out of his grasp.
Gods, he has a tough grip.
I kept trying to let him to let me go. "Please, Clare. Hear me out. Please." Nico gave me a desperate look and I gave up. "Fine. I want some stuff to get cleared up anyway."
He nodded. "Look, Clare, I don't really know how to say this, but- but," He kept stuttering and I got annoyed. "Spit it out already, Nico." He glared at me. "Can't you see I'm trying to?"
I rolled my eyes. Seriously, he'll pick a fight with me now? Bitch mode on...
"Really? You're gonna glare at me? Can't you see Nico? I DON'T FUCKING CARE WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY! SO JUST FUCKING SAY IT ALREADY, I WON'T GIVE TWO SHITS ABOUT IT, KAY?" My eyes widened when I realized what I just said. "N-"
He looked down at the ground. "Well, then. It wasn't even important anyway. Just- Just forget it." He shoved me out of the way and left me there.
STUPID MOUTH! I kept on cursing myself, when my conscious came in.
Gah! I am so fucking stupid!
Yep, you are.
He's gonna hate me now.
Yep, probably.
Now what am I supposed to do now, then?
It should be pretty obvious by now, chase after the goddamn man.
He's a man?
Really?
What?
You're annoying. Stop trying to be funny.

Fine, you're no fun.
I chased after Nico and got a slammed to my face. I groaned and ran a hand through my hair.
"Nico!" I shouted behind the door.
Just what I expected, no answer.
"Please!" I pleaded. No answer again. Not like I would answer either.
"Look, I'm sorry, okay? I didn't mean to lash out like that. I- it's too embarrassing to say." I whispered.
The door cracked open to show Nico's face. "Like what?" He smirked.
Godsdam jerk. That bastard seriously had the nerve to smirk too. Huh.
"It's something that us women have to deal with. Which is extremely annoying..." I said, thinking he got the hint.
He furrowed his eyebrows a bit before his jaw dropped. "Are you...? Pregnant?" My jaw dropped this time.
This fucking asshole. Why in the world would I get pregnant? I don't sleep around. I think you girls get what I'm talking 'bout, yeah? Whelp, this douche doesn't.
"NO, you idiot! I'm on my fucking period! Can't you take a hint?!" I punched his arm and chest.
His eyes widened. "OH, gods... You just had to tell me!?" I punched him again.
"Oh, grow up!" I rolled my eyes at him. "Do you have pads? Or do you use tampons?" He asked.
"Pads." I said. "Okay, then... Do you have food cravings?" He asked me again. "Maybe... Ice cream and spicy, hot chips! Their really good..." My mouth watered at the sound of hot chips and ice cream.
"What do you usually do?" I shrugged. "Watch Marvel or DC movies." He nodded. "Okay. Well, bye!" He ruched past me off somewhere after my 'time of the month' interrogation.
"That wasn't weird..." I shook my head and headed back down stairs.
I walked down and saw Shadow eating pancakes on the floor.
"Um...?" I raised my eyebrow at her and she shrugged.
"Too much PDA in the kitchen." She said. I nodded and sat down next to her.
"So, could you tell me when this started?" I asked.
She furrowed her eyebrows. "Hmm, I think it started when she said 'Cole, you are so cute!' Gods they're annoying..." She began.
I shook my head and laughed. "No, that's not it. I mean, when did you start liking Andy?" I asked.
Her shoulders slumped. "I-I don't know. I just started to notice more things about Andy. I paid more attention to her and my stomach would get this weird feeling. When she flips her hair over her shoulder when she got annoyed and always rubs her finger tips against her thumb when she tried to remember something. She loves to smile. Always has this radiant glow with her when she walks into the room,"
I cut in. "I guess that's normal right? She is the daughter of Apollo, god of light?"
Shadow shook her head. "Not literally, she gives off this happy vibe. Makes you think about the good things in life."
I guess she's right. Andy is always so cheerful. But when she's sad, it can affect you too.
"Dam, Shads, you got it bad. By bad, I mean really bad." I grinned.
She groaned. "I know..."
We heard the door slam shut.
"Who's that?" She asked. I looked at her and shrugged.
We walked to the front door and saw Nico there with a lot of bags.
"Hey, Clare!" He motion me forward and I walked closer.
I looked into the bags and screamed. "THIS IS AMAZING!!!" I absentmindedly hugged Nico.
It got quiet and I unhooked my arms from his neck. "Uh, sorry..." I murmered.
He rubbed the back of his neck. "It's alright."
I got one of the bags of hot chips and riped it open. I started munching away freely.
"This is the best time of the month ever!" I lightly punched Nico's arm. "Thanks, dude."
He smiled at me and I wanted to throw up in a good way. "Welcome... Ooh! I also got you these." He took out Batman, Captain America, and Iron Man 3 from a brown bag. "Yes! Did you buys these?" I asked him.
He shook his head. "Just rented them." I nodded and ate some more chips. "Mmkay, let's pop these babies in."
I looked at the tv and saw no dvd player. I'll just ask Grace then.
I went upstairs to look for her.
I passed through some doors when I heard her voice.
"What?! Of course not! I promised to keep these kids safe, and I do intend to keep them! Now lose this number before I hunt you down and make you remember how I was able to defeat all fifty of ya!"
She hanged up and I closed the door.
Who was Grace talking to? Why is she protecting us? What did they want her to do?
"Clare, honey?" She came out of the room.
"Oh, yeah?"
She looked at me worriedly. "Did you hear anything?" She asked me.
I tilted my head to the side a bit. "Hear what?" I asked.
She smiled and shook her head. "Nothin', sweetie. Now do want anything?"
I nodded and showed her the movie. "Ooh! You can use the guest room. There's a dvd player there. I'll make some popcorn while you're at it." She smiled and left to go make the popcorn.
"Hmm..." I hummed.
I walked into the guest room and got the movie ready to be played. The rest of the gang walked in and got themselves comfortable.
"So, who's gonna get the popcorn?" I asked them.
"NOT IT!" They said in unison. They looked at me and I shrugged. "I've already done my part."
"Sorry, but that devil-lady hates me." Shadow pointed out.
"Can't cuz I'm too lazy." Andy said.
"I rented the movie." Nico said.
"Oh, don't worry guys! I'll do it since all you lazy asses won't move." Cole said sarcastically.
He rolled his eyes at us and went to get the popcorn. "Should we wait for him to start the movie?" Nico asked.
Shadow waved him off. "Nah... That bastard can come in later." I shook my head at her and started the movie.
"POPCORN!" Cole exclaimed as he entered the room. Everyone shushed him and continued to watch movie.
"Well, thanks for waiting for me to start the movie, guys!" He rolled his eyes. Again, everyone shushed him, even Andy.
"What are we watching?" He asked. "Batman." Shadow answered.
"Nico, you're stupid. You should've gotten Superman too!" Andy pouted.
"No thanks." He said.
"Are all of you on team Batman or something?" Andy asked.
"Well, Nico and I are." Shadow said. "Me too." I said raising my hand.
"How 'bout you, Cole?" Andy asked him. She even put on her extra huge puppy dog eyes.
"Sorry, Andy, but I have to go with them on this one." Shadow high-five'd him.
"Hey! You're supposed to be on my side!" Andy crossed her arms.
"You know, Andy, I kinda like Superman also." Shadow said.
Andy turned her head away from Shadow. "Too bad. You're not allowed to like him. I shall not accept this."
Shadow's jaw dropped. "I'm kind of on your side!" She exclaimed.
Andy faced away from her. "I don't want you to be!"
Shadow rolled her eyes.
I swear, these two are like cat and dog.

NOTE: The above synopsis is intentionally written to be as spoiler-free as possible. If you would like a more in-detail synopsis, one that contains minor spoilers, please check out the "Synopsis" chapter at the beginning of this fiction. If you read and enjoy, please leave a rating or review! FORMERLY TITLED: THE GLIMMERLING This story was formerly titled "The Glimmerling", because the first part was a short story of that title; it has since been expanded upon, thus the title change. Chapters 1-8 (30k words) are the first 'arc', if you want to get a feel for the story. To give some context on the setting: Magic is a bit weaker in this story than you might be used to, and we start off following some relatively new magic users. For some perspective, being able to light a campfire with magic is considered relatively advanced for someone who is the age of the main character. Magic can become very powerful - and there are some examples of powerful wizards within this story - but it's not where the main characters are yet. Part of the story is about following them as they learn more about magic. Enemies are also very dangerous, and running, hiding, or trying to talk their way out of a dangerous situation is often a better choice than fighting for the characters. While I have added tags for traumatizing content, sexuality, violence, swearing, etc. I try to avoid super-explicit descriptions of these things. But they are part of the story.

8 199OutRage: Total Realism.
What happens when a game company strives for total immersion and realism from a VRMMO?Players require food, sleep, personal hygeine, air to breathe and everything else required for life. The up side is that its still a game, Players respawn, can use magic, can basically do anything they want with obvious exceptions like: not going to prison for assassinating a ruling monarch, not that you cant do it only that its very hard to do.In comes our protagonist a university student majoring in the sciences, namely chemistry. His name is Henry Jacobs, 19 years old and a complete loner.A new VRMMO game was annouced and it bragged and boasted about how it would be the first in a new era of VR gaming as it would give the game a total of 100% realism, meaning when you get hit it hurts, when you walk into a dungeon full of zombies it will stink as you'd expect like rottting corpses. This game is titled Outrage: Total Realism. Which was a joke made by the publishers knowing how most people would be either excited or enraged.
