Chapter 4
'I think I'm starting to like Chat. What am I thinking? I'm in love with... No one. Would it be wrong to fall in love with Chat? I'm into deep now. I've started falling for him, didn't I? What am I going to do? Chat loves Ladybug. Not the part I want him or anyone to fall for. But he did say that it didn't matter who was under the mask, that who was under it he would love that person too. So that means he like Marinette, right?' Marinette's mind keeps running with questions. Mostly about Chat and her. She fell asleep to those thoughts.
Adrien POV
Adrien wakes up to a light shining into his eyes. He looks around to see Marinette's face leaning on his chest. He smiles at her with a light blush coating his face. His smile disappears when he notices he isn't in Chat Noir anymore.
"Plagg. Where are you? We need to transform." Adrien whispers. He looks around to see Plagg flying to him. "Plagg claws out." Plagg gets sucked up into Adrien's ring. Chat Noir now lays where Adrien did. Chat sighs in relief.
"Chat?" The green light must have woken up Marinette. Marinette looks up at him.
"Yes, princess?" Chat brushes her bangs out of her eyes.
"You doing better?" Chat nods. "That's good. What time is it?" Marinette yawns. She looks over Chat's shoulder to see its seven. "You should get going. Don't you have school? It starts in an hour and fifteen minutes. You don't want to be late."
"Ya. You're right. I'll see you again, princess?" Marinette nods. Chat smiles and kisses her forehead. "Have a good day, Mari. See ya." Chat jumps out her trap door and jumps off her balcony to another roof. He gets home and de-transforms into Adrien.
"You owe me more cheese. Waking me up in the middle of the night and then making me transform you in the morning without giving me cheese." Plagg grumbles.
"Ya, ya. I'll get you your cheese." Adrien groans and wakes to the kitchen. He grabs some camembert and walks back to his room. He gives Plagg his cheese.
"Finally. I couldn't handle all that lovey-dovey stuff between you two. 'I'll see you again princess?' Being all cuddly. I can see all that you know? What you see I can see when you're Chat Noir." Plagg makes fake gagging noises. He eats a piece of the camembert.
"Whatever Plagg. I had to make sure she was alright. That nightmare felt so real." Adrien changes into his school clothes.
"The real nightmare is you being Chloe's boyfriend. Also when I have to be suck in between you two when she's clinging to you." Plagg explains.
"Ya, well we should go. Can't be late for school." Adrien grabs his bag and opens it for Plagg could fly in.
"Are you sure you don't just want to go and see your princess?" Plagg teases.
"N-no!" Adrien stutters as a blush appears on his cheeks. "Just get in the bag." Plagg flies in the bag as he laughs. Adrien gets in his limo with Gorilla, his bodyguard.
Marinette POV
Marinette was walking to school when she saw a red-haired boy. "Nathaniel!" Marinette shouted as she ran to him. Nathaniel looked behind him. When he saw who yelled his name a blush appears on his face. "Mind if I walk with you?" Marinette started to walk beside him.
"U-umm... N-no I d-don't mind." Nathaniel stuttered. Marinette smiled at him as they continued to walk to school. They didn't notice the green eyes watching them as they drove by. "S-so. I h-heard... t-that Adrien is d-dating Chloe."
"Ya. They are." Marinette gives him a sad smile.
"S-sorry to hear that. I-I knew you h-had a crush o-on him." Nathaniel explains.
"Ya, I did. I'm trying to get over it." They arrive at school and go to class. Marinette sits in her seat and tries not to look at Adrien as Chloe kissed him.
"Umm... M-Marinette, I wanted t-to ask you if y-you wanted to go to the park a-after school?" Nathaniel asked as he stood beside her desk.
Marinette was about to answer tell she heard a hissing noise. She looked around to try and find what made the noise. She looks back at Nathaniel who seems at have heard it too. "Umm... Sure, Nathaniel. I don't have to help my parents in the bakery today anyway." She smiles at him, making his blush deepen and he smiles.
Adrien POV
Adrien could hear Marinette and Nathaniel chatting. Chloe was clinging to him and he wanted to stand up and have her get off him. All he did was smile at her and make it look like they were dating.
"Umm... M-Marinette, I wanted t-to ask you if y-you wanted to go to the park after school?" Nathaniel asked. Adrien tried to hide his jealousy but, in the end, he ended up hissing. Chloe didn't seem to notice since she was still talking to Sabrina. Adrien bit his bottom lip so he wouldn't hiss again.
"Umm... Sure, Nathaniel. I don't have to help my parents in the bakery today anyway." Adrien looked over his shoulder to see them smiling at each other. Nathaniel was blushing a dark red.
'No. No way am I letting him date my princess. Wait. Why should I care? I love my lady... and my princess. If only they were the same person. I can't let Nathaniel take her away from me. I mean Chat Noir. No way is he taking her from me. Guess I'll have to think of something.' Adrien watched their teacher, Ms. Bustier walk in as he thought of how to keep Nathaniel away from his princess.
Marinette POV
After school Marinette walked outside the front doors to see Nathaniel waiting for her. When he saw her he waved shyly with a dark red blush. They start walking to the park not knowing a certain black cat following them.
"Do y-you want to g-get some ice c-cream?" Nathaniel asks. Marinette looks at him and nods. Nathaniel finally gets Marinette's approval to pay for both of their ice creams. Marinette gets strawberry ice cream and Nathaniel gets a mint chocolate chip. They walk to the Ladybug and Chat Noir statue. "I-Isn't Ladybug cool?" Nathaniel looks at the statue. Marinette looks at him then at the statue.
"Ya. Chat Noir's pretty cool too." Marinette smiled.
"For a-a sidekick." Nathaniel added. Marinette looked at him in disbelief.
"Chat's not a sidekick. Chat and Ladybug are partners. Ladybug doesn't think he's a sidekick. S-she's made that clear and I think so too. He's kind, caring and sure his puns are horrible but, he makes up for it by saving people. If he wasn't there Ladybug would have a hard beating the akumas. She needs him as much as he needs her. They're like yin and yang. Partners to the end." Marinette explains. Nathaniel looks at her.

"Uh... S-sorry. I d-didn't mean to u-upset you." Marinette shakes her head and waves her free hand in the air.
"No, no. You didn't." Marinette smiles at him.
"Marinette... I-I wanted to t-tell you something. T-that's why I asked y-you out." Nathaniel takes a deep breath. He puts a hand on her shoulder and walks closer. Marinette gives him a confused look as she tilts her head. He finishes his ice cream before he puts his other hand on her right forearm. Marinette bites her lip.
'What's going on? What does he want to say? He's not going to say what I think he's going to say, right? If he does what do I say? I don't think I could say no. That would be rude. I can't do that to Nathaniel.' Marinette starts to worry as she thinks of what he's going to say.
"Marinette I-I... I really...." Nathaniel stutters as he looks down at the ground.
Adrien POV
'Ice cream. They're on a date!? I knew he was trying to take her. That's my princess, not yours.' Chat's jealousy starts to build up.
Chat was in a tree well hidden from people walking by. He was close enough to hear them talking.
"I-Isn't Ladybug cool?" Nathaniel looks at the statue. Chat could see Marinette staring at Chat's statue.
'Yes, my lady is cool. We all know that.' Chat stared at them.
"Ya. Chat Noir's pretty cool too." Marinette smiled.
"For a-a sidekick." Nathaniel added. Marinette looked at him in disbelief. Chat didn't like being called a sidekick. He knew that Ladybug and him were partners.
"Chat's not a sidekick. Chat and Ladybug are partners. Ladybug doesn't think he's a sidekick. She's made that clear and I think so too. He's kind, caring and sure his puns are horrible but, he makes up for it by saving people. If he wasn't there Ladybug would have a hard beating the Akuma. She needs him as much as he needs her. They're like yin and yang. Partners to the end." Marinette explains. Chat's face lights up.
'She thinks that about me. My princess thinks that about me. Sure she doesn't like my puns but, she thinks that about me.' Chat smiled at the thoughts that played in his mind.
"Uh...
He puts a hand on her shoulder and walks closer. she tilts her head. His other hand grabs her right forearm. Chat snarls.
'What does he think he is doing!? Don't touch her like that. I'm the only one who can do that.' Anger builds up, his blood starts boiling.
"Marinette I-I... I really...." Nathaniel stutters as he looks down at the ground.
'Oh no, you don't!'
Chat stands up and jumps out of the tree. He lands near the two teens. "Hello princess. What's going on here?" Chat pays no attention Nathaniel and stares at Marinette.
"Chat? Um... I'm hanging out with Nathaniel." Chat finally looks at the redhead.
"Marinette you know Chat Noir!?" Nathaniel looks at Chat and then at Marinette.
"She's my princess. We're like this." Chat puts an arm around her shoulder and crosses his fingers together. Nathaniel lets his hands go to his side. "Now if you excuse us. I have a princess who has to get home." He picks her up in bride style and leaves Nathaniel, who was staring at the spot Marinette was. Chat jumps a couple roof away then lets Marinette down, much to his disappointment.
"Chat what was that about?" Marinette stares at him.
"What do you mean, princess?" Chat acts innocent.
"You Know what I mean." She crosses her arms in front of her chest. Chat could see that she was thinking of something. "Were you jealous?" She looks at him in disbelief.
"N-no. I was not jealous!" Chat stutters. A light blush appears but, is hidden under his mask. "Okay, maybe I was." He breathes. Marinette's eyes widen. A red blush shows on her cheeks.
"That still doesn't mean you had to do that." Marinette bites her lip. Chat walks closer to her. He puts his hands on her shoulders. "C-Chat w-" Chat pulls her into him as he presses his lips to hers. Their teeth hit making them pull apart. Chat leans into her and their noses touch. Their breaths mix together. Chat waits for her to say something but, she just stares into his eyes. Chat presses his lips to hers more gentle than before. He pulls her close to him as his arms wrap around her waist.
He feels Marinette start to kiss him back. Her arms wrap around his neck, pulling him closer. Chat deepens the kiss. They pull apart after a while to catch their breath. Chat was the first to talk.
"I really like you Marinette."
"I-I... What about Ladybug?" Marinette asks.
"I thought I liked her but, I started to have feelings for you and then they grew. Mari I.. I think I love you. The only other girl I ever loved was Ladybug so I don't know what love is that much but, I'm having the same kind of feels I have for Ladybug with you. Ladybug has a part of my heart but, its gotten smaller because you're here. You've taken over my heart and now... I love you." Chat explains.
Marinette POV
'He loves me? I've taken over his heart? His feelings for Ladybug are gone because of me? Why am I so happy to hear this? He loves me. Marinette. He fell in love with the side I wanted him to fall for. I Like him to but, should I tell him that?' Marinette thinks of what to do tell her mind comes up with an answer.
"I-I love you too." That was all Chat need to hear. He pulls her into a kiss again. He holds her close to him. They pull apart after a minute.
"Let's get you home, purr-ncess." Marinette groans at his pun. He picks her up and brings her home. He has a wide grin on his face as he jumps from roof to roof. Marinette's arms were wrapped around his neck. She was smiling as they run to her house. They got to her balcony and he let her down. "I'll see you tonight princess. I have to go home before my family they find me missing." Marinette nods. Chat kisses her goodbye and leaves.
"What does these make us now? I've really fallen for him, haven't I?" She smiles as she watches him get out of her view.

Awakening an ancient civilization from their past may be their only hope now. A spiraling doom awaits the world of Isulia. **************** I put the gore warning not because my book is overly gory (It's not constantly blood and guts). However, there are several moments that are extremely violent. I've always loved shows/movies such as, (The Expanse, The Boys, Banshee, Kingdom of heaven, Vikings, Attack on Titan, Baccano, etc.) I am descriptive of the scenes with violence. So be warned :) I've worked long and hard and have finally finished my third draft. Still needs work but everything storywise is complete. There are still a few things I need to add and tweak. Grammatical errors and flushing out the characters and dialogue still needs work. If you see any errors or plot holes, please feel free to point them out. It helps me improve upon the story. Those in this dungeon must kill monsters to survive; maybe even each other. Join Ely as he struggles to survive a ruthless environment. What replaces his rest is untold trauma. What seems like an innocent game trope turns into a nightmare. This is a story of tragedy and the path to ultimate power. All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.

Reincarnated as a Warlock with zero skill
My previous life was just as boring as yours. I was a marketing manager for a flooring company. The biggest challenge? Would the latest colour be called "Grey Oak" or "Oak Grey". Then, tragedy. I was struck down in the prime of my life by a negligent delivery driver and a pallet of laminate flooring - which is significantly heavier than you think. So there I was, smeared on the floor, absorbed in my own self pity. Where would I go? Heaven? Hell. Did I care? Apparently that was not what fate had in store for me. Reborn in a world of dragons and fantasy, I became a Warlock. A pretty darn important one too. The problem, I had little to no affinity to magic and I spent most of my time doing my best to avoid danger. Danger however, would not avoid me. So, with my new life as an amazing Warlock you'd think it would be easy street right? Wrong. Forces gather to move against the Kingdom I am sworn to protect and, whilst my inward allegiance is to whomever is the victor, outwardly I must lead the resistance against the invaders. With my skilled companions Asha - a mage that can actually do magic and Torg - a swordsman sworn to protect me, I can only hope that they distract the enemy long enough for me to run away.
