Chapter 3
"You can say whatever you want about me but, I will not stand by and let you talk about one of Paris's heroes like that! He has saved you a couple of times now. You should be grateful to him not calling him a loser or an alley cat. You don't know anything about him! I never want to hear something like that from someone who doesn't even know the person." He watched her storm off and Chloe scream. Adrien Smirked.
'I'll have to ask her about that later as Chat.' Adrien thought to himself.
"Let's get to class Nino." Adrien keeps walking to class not looking at Chloe as he walked by her.
Marinette POV
Marinette was working on her homework when she heard a knock window. She looked up and sees Chat. She jumps as the green eyes look at her, scaring her off her chair. She falls to the floor. Marinette gets up and rubs the back of her head. She walks toward the window and opens it. Chat comes in and looks at her with worried eyes.
"Are you okay? I didn't mean to scare you." He touches the back of her head and looks to see if there is a bump. There was no bump there, making Chat sigh in relief.
"I'm fine Chat. What are you doing here?" Marinette smiled at him.
"I told you I would come by today." Chat looks down at her sweater then back at Marinette's eyes. "Nice sweater. May I say purr-fect?" Marinette looks down to see that she was still wearing the Chat Noir sweater. A pink blush dusts her face. "So I heard from a little bride that you stood up to Chloe for me. I didn't know you cared so much, purr-ncess." Chat leans close to her with a grin.
"I just didn't like the way she was talking about you. That's all." Chat hums at her. "That's all. Really." Marinette blushes more. Chat chuckles at her.
"If you say so, princess. So how was your day?" Chat asked.
Marinette thinks of what to say.
"Umm... Good, I guess. Not my best. I stood up to Chloe as you said. Had to watch my crush and his girlfriend kiss and her clinging to him." Marinette sighed. She didn't like seeing them being a couple. "I think Chloe was right. He would never have liked me. I'm just plain, boring and clumsy Marinette. Who would like me." Marinette looked away from Chat so he wouldn't see the tears building up in her eyes.
Adrien POV
Chat looked at her in disbelief.
"Don't ever say that! Marinette you're so much more than that. You're pretty, kind, selfless and anything but plain. Sure you can be clumsy once in a while but, that's just another cute thing about you." Chat mentally slaps himself as he puts his hands to his mouth. A blush appears from behind his mask.
Chat mentally scolds himself.
Marinette POV
Marinette can't get the words Chat Noir said out of her mind.
"That's just another cute thing about you."
Marinette looked at him, biting her bottom lip. "Did you just say I'm... Cute?" A dark pink blush coats her cheeks.
"U-umm... Ya, I did. You think I'm a weirdo now, don't you?" Chat looks at the ground.
"N-no. It's just the only people who ever said that to me was my parents and Alya. T-thanks, Chat." Chat's head jerks up and looks into her eyes. Marinette jumps back in surprise by his new movements. "You want to watch a movie on my laptop?" Marinette asks.
"Ya. I don't have patrol with my lady for another two hours now. What do you want to watch?" Chat asked as he goes and sits down on her bed. He grabs the laptop out of her hands and leans against the wall. Marinette sits beside him and turns on the laptop.
"Top Cat the movie." Marinette grins. She pulls up the movie and presses play. She grabs her cat pillow and holds it to her chest. Not noticing the pair of green eyes staring at her.
Adrien POV
"Ha, Ha. Just so you know, I'm purr-tty sure I'm the top cat." He couldn't help the jealousy he was feeling. Sure it was a pillow but, he still felt jealousy over it. He stared at Marinette and the pillow. Her eyes never leaving the screen of the laptop. He took this as a chance and hit the cat pillow out of her hands. Marinette blinked at him, surprised. Chat rested his head in her lap. Marinette stared down at him. What surprised Chat was what she said next.
"Can I touch them? You're ears I mean." She asked. Chat looked up at her and gave her a smile. He nodded and looked back at the screen. He could feel Marinette touch his cat ears. Chat's ears twitched a little, making her giggle. Chat smiled at her giggle.
Chat smiles at the thought.
He was too deep in his thoughts to notice Marinette scratching behind his ears. A low vibratory sound starts up in his throat. He opens his mouth slightly, making it louder. Chat brings his hands to his mouth when he notices he started to purr. He moves away from Marinette's hands and sits up beside her.
"Chat did you just purr?" Marinette tilts her head. She has an amused look in her eyes.
"N-no. I didn't p-purr." Chat's face lights up, bright red.
"You can purr." Marinette gives him a bright smile.
"N-no." Chat stutters. His eyes widen when Marinette gets closer to him. Her hands reach for his head.
"Do it again. One more time. Please."
"No! No more purring. It embarrassing, princess." Chat whines as he leans back. Marinette gets closer to him. Both of them not noticing the position they were in. Marinette was on top of him, reaching for his head and Chat was under her, trying to not purr again. Marinette was finally able to reach and she started to scratch his head again. In a few seconds Chat was purring again. His face was lighting up from his neck to the tips of his ears.
Marinette POV
Marinette giggles as she scratches his head, making him purr. She didn't notice that she was on top of him. "You're such a silly kitty. So cute." She smiles at him.
"Marinette. This is so embarrassing. Please stop." Chat begs.
"Nope. No way. This is so cute." Chat looks at her and then around them and sees the position they are in. Who knew his face could get any redder.
"Fine. If you won't stop then-" Chat wraps his arms around the small of her back. Marinette finally notices the position they are in now and a deep red blush appears on her cheeks as her eyes widen.
"C-Chat. I'll stop. J-just let me get off y-you." Marinette squealed. Chat give her a sly grin.
"Nope. No way. This is so cute." Chat mimicked her.
"D-don't have patrol with L-Ladybug now?" Marinette tried to change the subject. Chat looks at the time and sighs.

"Ya, I do. I'll be back though. You can count on that, princess." He lets her go and winks before jumping out the glass trap door.
"You okay Marinette?" Tikki comes out of hiding and flies to Marinette.
"Y-ya. Just let m-me calm done for a second before we go to." Marinette takes deep breaths and stops when her blush is completely gone. "Okay! Let's go. Tikki spots on!" Marinette shouts and Tikki gets sucked up into Marinette's earrings. Ladybug now stands where Marinette was. She jumps out the glass trap door and goes to Chat's and her meeting spot.
She sees him sitting on the edge of the roof. She walks over to him only to get a deep blush to reappear on her cheeks. She recalls what happened earlier and can't find the words to say to Chat. Chat notices her and turns around. "Good evening, my lady." Chat grins.
Ladybug thinks of what to do.
She takes a deep breath before speaking. "Hey, Chat. You ready to start patrol?" Chat nods. "Okay. You take the east side I'll take the west side." chat stands up.
"That sounds purr-fectly claw-some, my lady." He kisses the back of her hand before running off into the east. Her blush deepens for a few minutes tell she claims down.
"At least I know he won't be stopping at my house now." Ladybug sighs in relief. She jumps off the roof to start her part of the patrol. She gets home after half an hour of patrolling. She de-transforms back into Marinette. She gets in her pajamas and jumps into bed. "Good night Tikki." Marinette yawns.
"Good night Marinette." Marinette was half asleep when she heard a knock on the glass trap door. She looks up to see green eyes staring back at her. She gets up and opens the door for him.
"Chat. Shouldn't you be going home? Its late." She tries to hide her yawn but, has no luck.
Adrien POV
He grins at her as she tries to hide her yawn with no luck. "I didn't say goodbye or goodnight to my princess before I left." Marinette giggles at Chat's excuse.
"Good night Chat."
"Good night Mari." He kisses her cheek and winks at her before running off into the night. He gets home and jumps through his window. He de-transforms back into Adrien with a lovesick look in his eyes. He sighs.
"I know that sigh. That's the lovesick sigh. You do love Marinette. Kissing her on the cheek. Here I thought you were going to just check up on her then go to patrol but, instead you are in her bed watching a movie and then kissing her cheek after saying 'Goodnight Mari.' You own me those camemberts." Plagg teases.
"Plagg! Okay, maybe it isn't a little crush. I'm not saying I full-blown love her. My heart is still for my lady." Adrien changes into his pajamas. Plagg rolls his eyes.
"Sure, sure. Whatever you say. Have fun with Chloe tomorrow. She seems to really hate Marinette. Calling her trash and a loser. Then has the nerves to talk bad about Chat Noir." Plagg grumbles.
"Great. You just ruin my good night. I'm going to bed. Here's you're cheese." Adrien groans then hand Plagg his cheese. He turns off his lights and goes to bed. He dreams of peaceful dreams of Ladybug for a while but, it turns to the worst when he has a nightmare of Marinette.
Pairs was full of all the akumatized people Chat Noir and Ladybug have beaten over the year. Chat ran to Marinette's bakery. The streets were full of fire and bodies. He runs on the rooftops, he could see Marinette's balcony in his view. He jumped on the balcony with the help of his baton. He doesn't knock on the trap door, this time he opens the door and jumps on her bed. He looks around and sees a body on the ground, holding their knees to their face.
"Marinette." He sighs in relief as he jumps off her bed. He walks over to her and puts a hand on her shoulder. "Marinette? Mari?" He shakes her a little bit but, gets no respawn from her. He starts getting worried. "Princess!?" She falls over on her side. Chat stares at her wide-eyed as he sees blood on her shirt. He checks for her pulse but, finds none. He hugs her tight. "Wake up. Please, princess. Mari!... Please wake up..... Marinette!" Chat Sobs through his shouts. Her body was limb. Chat's tears fall down onto Marinette's face. "Mari!... Marinette... Marinette!"
"Marinette!" Adrien shouts as he sits up straight. He looks around to see he's in his room not Marinette's anymore. "A dream. It was just a dream." Adrien can't get the nightmare out of his mind. He has to see her. He wakes up Plagg, much to his annoyance and transforms into Chat Noir. He jumps out his window and rushes to Marinette's home.
When he gets there he knocks on her trap door. He could see Marinette move around in her bed before looking up at him.
Chat thanks the heavens as he watches Marinette get up on the balcony through the trap door.
Chat couldn't help the tears that were building up. When she was fully standing in front of him he wrapped his arms around her, hugging her tightly. He could tell that Marinette didn't know the reason for the hug but, she hugged him back. Chat breathed in her scent lavender.
"Chat. What's wrong?" Marinette looks up at him.
"I had a nightmare of you d-dying, I had to make sure you were alright." Chat sniffs. He hugs her tighter. "I d-don't know what I would do if you d-died." Marinette's eyes widen. They soften after a while.
"It's okay Chat. I'm right here. Alive and well." She tries to calm him down. "Do you want to come in?" Marinette asked. She looked behind her to look at the trap door.
"Ya. O-okay." Chat follows Marinette inside. They sit on her bed. Chat could hear Marinette try to hide her yawn. "I should go, princess. You need your sleep and-" Chat stops talking when Marinette grabs his hand.
"Why don't you stay the night?" Marinette questioned. Chat stared at her and sighed. He lifted the covers over so Marinette and him could lay down. Marinette gets under the blanket and Chat follows, putting the blanket over them. Chat wraps his arms around her, cuddling with her.
"Thank you purr-ncess. Good night. I'm glad you're alive." Chat mumbles through her hair before drifting off.
Marinette POV
A deep red blush coats her face. Chats arms were wrapped around her chest as her back was facing him. She whispered to Tikki that it would be better if she stayed hidden. Marinette could feel Chat's warm breath against her hair and his tail wrapped around her right leg. Marinette final starts to drift off after a while.
Marinette's mind keeps running with questions. Mostly about Chat and her. She fell asleep to those thoughts.
A/N: Finally done chapter three. I'll have the next one out soon. Thanks for reading. Aren't Marinette and Chat so cute? See you all in chapter four.

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)

World Master
Hey! I once lived on your world back in 2056. But that was a long time ago and there’s probably no records of my existence. Or, maybe, I haven’t even been born yet… …I’m still figuring out of the timelines correspond. Anyways, I was or will be, or whatever you want to call it (maybe I am?), John Pitcher, a resident at St. Jude’s Hospital for the Mentally Ill. I was a computer programmer and my parents had me admitted there because I was convinced that I had been contacted by Set, the Egyptian god of chaos, about creating a world. Well, apparently, I’m something akin to the great times a hundred grandson of over 10 000 gods, and they didn’t want me to live an ordinary, dull life (well, except for the god of normalcy, but he doesn’t count). Set gave me three years to prepare myself. This begins right at the end of those three years. [participant in the NaNoWriMo Royal Road challenge] I originally had this as part of the prologue, then I realized that it made a better synopsis. Please note: this might seem a bit clunky because I haven't done a lot of writing, and this is supposed to be a kind of prequel to another story that I plan on doing in the future. I will not be fully explaining everything but instead will be explaining things in that other story. This is mainly to help fill in the lore of the world so that people will have at least a basic idea of how things function. Regardless of that, that story won't be written for at least another year, so deal with it. Note: I am using ideas from several different authors in order to make sure that this can be a proper story. You may or may not recognize where I got them. I am not writing a Fanfiction and do not claim these as my own. I will add to a list of titles below as I find myself using those ideas. World Keeper (obviously) The Wandering Inn The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound (not yet, but eventually) A bunch of others that I haven't thought of yet
