"I don't get it, "Alix asked as she sat beside Mister Bug watching the city after they lost traces of Time Tagger, "Why was he here?"

"Maybe his portal was to hide from future Bunnix," Misterbug suggested.

"No, it something else," Bunnix sighs, "Stop from a new future to form..."

"What?" Misterbug asked as he looked at her with a confused expression.

"Ladybug letter," Bunnix explained, "She was talking about saving the future."

"Wait, she gave you a letter?" Misterbug asked.

Bunnix looked at him in confusion she thought he already knew, "Yes, warning that she was leaving because something bad is coming. Maybe Timetagger is a clue."

"What else did she say? Did she tell you where she went?" Misterbug began asking questions but Bunnix then paused him to pull out the letter.

Misterbug took it to read it, "I am unable to fulfill my duties as a guardian to them for the time being. Time is the essence and I hope what I'm doing will stop from a new future to form."

"See something else is coming..." Bunnix says worriedly.

Misterbug gave her the letter, "She was akumatized."

"What?" Bunnix asked in shock.

"I couldn't figure how, but now I do," Misterbug says.

"What do you mean?"

"Hawkmoth here in the present couldn't have akumatized Ladybug," Misterbug explained, "When Timetagger first appeared he commented about a new Hawkmoth."

"So you think the future Hawkmoth has something to do with this?"

"He has to! Why else Ladybug knows about the future and got akumatized?" Misterbug asked.

"That why she wants me to protect the timeline. Future Hawkmoth in the future is what she wanted to prevent," Bunnix says worriedly, "she said to stop Timetagger from coming here."

"She knows what's going to happen, "Misterbug comments.

"And we know it not good. Timetagger has new powers to create illusions now," Bunnix warned.

"We need to find Ladybug," Misterbug says.

"No, she doesn't want us to go after her," Bunnix states.

"I don't care," Misterbug glares at her, "She can't do it alone."

"Look Misterbug I care about her too but if she is a villain. She is good where she is at to stop it," Bunnix argues.

"No," Misterbug growls, "I been semi akumatized several times. The only one who was able to save me was her. She can't do this alone. I can't save the future without her."

Bunnix nodded in agreement, "Ok, so how do we find her?"

"She not in the city that's for sure," Misterbug says as he rubbed his trying after sleepless nights trying to look for her, "I don't know where she could have gone, we lost our master. So I don't know who could help her now."

Bunnix then tried to reflect the history she had learned when working with Alya, "What about the temple by Tibet?"

"What?" Misterbug asked as he remembered the rediscovered temple after he destroyed that amuk and reading about it from the Lady blog.

"That temple has the same symbol as the jewelry box on its grounds," Bunnix explained, "Do you think she has gone there?"

Misterbug recalled the jewelry box symbol and the discovery of the temple in Tibet. Oh, how wished he could have learned more about Master Fu as Ladybug did. Misterbug nodded still not sure, "I don't know but its the only lead we got."

"Fine," I say as I couldn't handle the pain any longer, "You win... Misfortune" I said laughing into my pillow. As soon as the words left my mouth a warmth spread through my body. I got up sliding from the bed. I looked around searching for my way out. My conscious told me it was a bad idea but I didn't care. Raising my hands above my head I changed into a new form.

A new feeling hit my body in the middle of the transformation. Negative energy pounding in my veins destroying the good energy inside. I could feel the darkness swarming in and surround me in its embrace. I felt my eyes begin to change to a cat-like state. My outfit of the traditional Chinese garment I been wearing since my stay changed. Strings appeared from my hand with wooden sticks as if I was a puppet. But that what I'm signing up for. My body language was no longer weak and fragile. I was now enveloped into the darkness as I stood with confidence. I had to hold my hand over my mouth to stop myself from screaming. The pain was excruciatingly painful.

I floated across the room where I have been trapped for weeks. I was letting my other self lead me. With a snap of her fingers, the sticks attached to me broke down the doorway of the cavern. I didn't know where I was going until I felt I felt my blood go cold I was headed down that familiar path that I had traveled down when I arrive at my prison. It led me to the guardian council. Scared out of my mind I tried to turn back. What felt like a million thoughts and horrid images crossed in my head. I knew what the other half of me was going to do. I tried to gain control but the darkness held me down forcing me to stay. I tried to pull away but the darkness couldn't be tamed. I wanted to cry out for help but I had no control. I approached the door sliding it slowly. The council wasn't there, just Master Ping who was awake. He was waiting for me.

"You can no longer hold it in can you Marinette?" He said looking up at her new garments.

"I'm sorry I'm not strong enough," I said darkness is taking control.

"I've always known what you were the moment I met you. Whatever you do Marinette is just fighting her now. Gain control. Don't listen to her!" he screamed his eyes pleading and tearing with desperation.

"Don't listen to him!" A harsh whisper escaping my lips. I struggled against her as I managed to get the words out, "Don't you see I'm in control! Don't you see I'm in control!" I screamed.

Master Ping backed away from me fear enveloping in his eyes.

I screamed at him as I let Misfortune take over, "Don't you see she is a part of me. Apart I can't control.. not anymore." I whispered.

Master Ping's eyes started to glow as he created an orb in his hand, "With the power of the yin and yang!"He then shot me with the orb as I fell back.

My fists unclenched as negative energy drained out of me my eyes returned to cyan blue my kimono changed to it normal pastel colors. I felt tired and weak and sick. I grabbed my stomach and fell to the floor curling into a ball.

"Your time has run out Marinette. I am now in control." Misfortune whispered out my lips.

I cried out rolling over the floor. My head pounding. My chest revolted up and down at a rampant rate. My breathing sharpened I could hear a loud screeching sound in my ears. I felt dizzy my head hurt so badly. Everything ached. I couldn't move. My vision went in and out the last thing I remember seeing was the face of Master Ping.

I remember Master Ping loomed over me. He tried to shake me out of it. I didn't know what to do the room felt so cold. Then I saw shadows as he was shoved out-of-the-way. My vision was so blurred no matter how hard I pushed to see I couldn't and the darkness swallowed me whole. The shadow woman's words were the last thing I heard, "Sweet Dreams."

Alix was in the museum looking through every exhibit to figure out Ladybug's past. She researching everything she could trying to find any other possibilities about what the future might hold.

"Hey, Alix!" Someone called her as she was looking at a stone that remains from the display that was an ancient amuk.

Alix smiled to see her friend, "Lila! What's up?"

Lila came to pretend to admire one of the exhibits, "I came to see my closet friend," she says cheerfully, "you know my uncle is a historian at the Berlin Museums."

"No way!" Alix says in surprise.

"Yeah, he conducts most of his research and studies on the lost treasure. Ain't it a mystery how to treasure can be lost then reappear after centuries?"

Alix smiles at her statement, "Yeah, the mysteries of the past."

"Hey here a question," Lila says as she leaned on a display, "Treasure is hidden in the most unlikely places. If you had a valuable heirloom where would you hide it in time?"

Alix automatically felt nervous from her question, "You know that the great pyramid, treasures are still lost there?"

"Oh really," Lila smiled, "But if the item was placed there back in time wouldn't the old civilization be in control?"

"Uh, true." Alix then glances at dinosaur display which Lila notice, "I would probably leave it at a pyramid," Alix shrugs.

"Right," Lila says with a mischievous smile, "oh I'm sorry I have you go I have a call for Mr. Agreste as his muse."

"Oh okay," Alix smiled with relief as the conversation was over.

"Bye," Lila smiled as she left.

As soon Lila was out of sight, Alix went to go travel in time to check on Plagg with the Miraculous egg and bring his food.

"Can't believe he likes this stuff!" Alix expressed at the awful smell of his cheese. She finally found the right hole and enter to find Plagg relaxing on top of the egg as it was a bed.

"Hey, how's it been?"Bunnix asked as she appeared from her portal left it open.

Plagg immediately got an idea as his time have been bored out of his mind, "You know, doing my job. But you think you can block the entrance so some nuisance peeper stops coming in?"

Bunnix gave a sly brow, "Sure, I didn't think you'd be bothered by the dinosaurs." Bunnix says as she went to work.

"Oh yeah, they come in like pests," Plagg says as he retreated to the portal.

"Okay, give me a sec," Bunnix says as she didn't realize Plagg went through her portal.

Plagg had gone to find himself at a different time period where Master Fu was still the guardian in his younger years. Plagg was able to find himself and convince him to go back in time with him. When Plagg returns with the other Plagg he hid him while Bunnix finished her handiwork.

"Wow, kid that's perfect!" Plagg expressed trying to not act suspicious, "Thanks."

Bunnix smiled as she headed toward her portal, "No problem I'll be back in a couple of days."

"Yes, mam!" Plagg saluted as Bunnix waved before closing the portal.

Past Plagg came out of hiding, "Wow. I can't believe how polite I am in the future..."

"Oh, my cheeks are killing me! From smiling and pretending to be polite it is so exhausting," Plagg yelled in exhaustion as he rubbed his cheeks.

"Ah, you can't change perfection." The younger Plagg complimented.

"Don't toy with me you saucy minx," Plagg comments.

"So what now?" Past Plagg asked.

"Let's have some fun!" Plagg says in an evil mischievous tone, "but first pre-lunch!"

Bunnix arrives back to her own time finding Misterbug waiting for her. They enter the portal hoping that Bunnix theory works and it can be used to get to the temple.

"You sure this is going to work?" Misterbug says as he followed her through her burrow.

"Yes, the portals are of a different time and place. We just need to find the right one. But we mustn't mess with any time streams."

"What about what's happening with Ladybug?" Misterbug suggests.

"We can't mess with the time stream. From what Ladybug letter admits, she has done something to affect the stream," Bunnix explained, "She warned that if we make any interference to see what had happened. We might be at risk. We have to avoid interfering with past or present events as much as possible."

"Right, "Misterbug sighed as he was about to look at a dark portal and followed her.

They finally arrive at the portal. The went through it and stood awestruck as the sight of a devastated temple lay before them.

"Are we at the right time?"Bunnix says as they walked out the portal. They both walked along with the deserted garden of the wrecked temple. All that remained of the buildings were burned out timber and scattered rock. They then saw the Chinese scriptures on the wall which Misterbug was able to read it.

"The temple of the Protector of the Miraculous... Ladybug!" MisterBug says started as he went to look through the rubble.

He entered into the temple and saw fallen bodies everywhere. Bunnix and Mister shouted for any survivors and Ladybug. They both heard a groan from one of the people dressed in monk attire. Bunnix ran to his side, "Hey are you ok?"

"Where's Ladybug?" Msisterbug immediately asked.

"MisterBug," Bunnix scolded as right now was to help them.

"There is no evil in her," he whispered as he breathes heavily as he felt his energy weaken.

"What happened?" Bunnix asked.

"She took control," He said he pointed toward the hall.

"Take care of him," Misterbug ordered as he went down it.

"Be careful," Bunix says worriedly wondering what happened as Misterbug vanished down the halls.

"Bunny holder," The man says weakly.

"Yeah," Bunnix responded as they looked at Misterbug heading down the hall.

"Cut the strings, the future is not written." He said.

"What are you talking about? Look just rest for now, "Bunnix urges.

"No, listen to me. Only in time, you can see the truth, sav..."Then the man's voice stopped as his breathing slowed down, "Save her."

Misterbug was now in some tunnel that was underground. He called out for Ladybug but got no reply. Then he tried to hear his surroundings hoping there was no other danger around. Then he heard a voice.

"Chat!"

He then ran to find where her voice came from. The voice leads him to a large cave that was covered in bolder, "Ladybug!"

"Chat! Help they trapped me in here!" Ladybug's voice was heard from behind. Misterbug looked for a way to move the bolder, as he was not longer Chat Noir he couldn't just create a cataclysm for him to create an entry. He then saw a nearby branch above a crack above the bolder. He ran to the stones that lined the bolder, digging his fingers into the gaps between them. The stones cut and bit at his hands, but he ignored it. He had to see if Ladybug was all right. He had to know. He then uses the yoyo to lower himself in. He finally landed inside the cavern and looked around.

"Ladybug?" Chat Noir called out, he just realized that she was no longer a holder. That he would see her civilian form. His concern worried as he will see his Ladybug then he saw her appear into a spot light and went in shock, "Marinette?"

She appeared behind the corner, her hair was now to her waist. She was wearing a traditional kimono her face as he remembered a couple of weeks ago. He recalled her blue eyes and gentle face. She was Ladybug, his Ladybug. Misterbug looked at her in shock realizing that the girl he has been in love with has been her. It was his classmate, his first friend, one of his best friends. She smiled towards him revealing herself completely, "Hey Kitty, are you disappointed?"

Misterbug nodded with a smile, "Of course not m'lady."

"Your here," She said with a trembling voice as she approached him.

"I had to come. You can't do it alone," He says as he approached her and pulled her into an embrace.

"No, I couldn't," She admitted as she was looking at him with loving eyes.

Misterbug looked at her in confusion she was surrendering to him; the type of surrender he secretly dreamt about but not that he knows it was Marinette; it was different. His thoughts went into a frenzy trying to figure out his feeling for Ladybug and Marinette. He watched as the tips of her fingers rested on his tightening shoulders. He was allowing her to stroke up the sides of his neck and slide back down to his shoulders.

"Are you okay?" Misterbug asked with fear.

He confused her as his face fell from anguish to relief, to gratitude, "I fought her my prince the best I could," Marinette reassured.

He looked down on her small, toned frame and she looked up at him. Her soft, blue eyes, porcelain skin, pouting lips... He knew she was a woman but he'd never seen her as anything feminine or delicate just a friend. Not until that moment. He found himself touching those lips with his gloved fingers. She wrapped her arms around his neck and he lifted her chin.

"So it's over?" He whispered as he closed their distance.

"Yeah," Marinette says as she leaned up to kiss him.

He closed his eyes and she kissed him. Her mouth tasted pure like he was being healed from the inside. He was so afraid that she would pull away. She felt his hands gently fold to her waist. He held her tighter. She felt safe. He was hesitant to urge her any further. He wanted her to lead her. He wanted her to take her wherever she was willing to go. And he allowed her to go as deep as he wanted. They then stopped to take a breath and slow down. The cool air felt good wafting across their heated skins. They stared at each other for a good while. She walked up to him and kissed him and he returned it once more.

"Misterbug! Don't let her escape," They heard Bunnix yelled from outside the bolder.

"What?" He says but it was too late.

"You never learn do you?" She backed away and had the earrings in her hand, "You were always the easiest to trick, "Marinette chuckled as she watched Misterbug transforming into his civilian self.

"Marinette what are you doing?" He growls as he was transforming back into Adrien.

Marinette chuckles as she stepped away as she transformed into the akumatized puppet villain, "Adrien, were just getting started."

"Mister bug!' Bunnix shouted as she got through the portal, "Its not her!" However, she froze as she saw that Marinette was akumatized into a marionette and had Ladybug earring.

Then she looked to find Misterbug was as his civilian form, "Adrien Agreste?"

Adrien didn't have time to react as he looked at Marinette, "Don't do it Marinette."

"It no longer Marinette," She chuckled, "It's Misfortune. Tikki spots on!'

Adrien and Bunnix cried out for her to stop but Marinette ignores there words as she evolved into a new form. Her Marionette outfit changed into Ladybug uniform but Ladybug outfit was now black with white spot.

"I don't understand, they said you escape," Bunnix yelled at Ladybug's new form.

Misfortune chuckled, "I didn't escape, you broke me out."

Silence filled the room and none of them was sure if it was Ladybug's doing or not. She was so far from the hero they knew. She wasn't a friend or a partner. She was an akumatized villain but taking control of Ladybug miraculous. But their Marinette had to be there somewhere, deep down.

"You're afraid." She said, still looking at Adrien and a step away from him. "You both are." she looked sad for a split second but then the marble mask was back on. "I can see why you would be. Maybe you should be. I don't know much about myself."

"Marinette," Adrien says.

"Its Misfortune!" She yelled then she hummed as she circled him and Bunnix. A long hum that almost sounded like static, a mixture of her thoughts and the storm that was going on just under her shining skin. She took a step forward and put a hand on Adrien's chest.

"Don't be afraid." She said, contradicting herself, with a sweet voice and expressionless face. "I'm mostly harmless..." she drawled on and then patted her hand towards his chest, over his heart.

"Mostly."

"I was under Hawkmoth control once. I got out. So can you!" Adrien urged.

"You don't understand, you are still under his control Adrien," She says as she stepped away, "I don't need you to save me. I'm going to save you."
