"Ladybug!" Chat Noir called for her as she ran across rooftop.

"Aww Why are you running? Are you really ashamed that you almost stole his miraculous without permission." The voice echoed.

Ladybug barked, "that wasn't me, that was your doing."

"And if it was, you let me." Misfortune said.

"No," Ladybug growled.

The rational part of Ladybug's mind was no longer in charge. Operating on pure instinct, she ran, and ran, and ran, until she was at the rooftop of her home. Ignoring Chat Noir calls, she rushed through the city till she sneak back to her balcony. As she ran, faster and faster the voices chanted louder and louder and louder, goading her, mocking her.

The words spun around and around in Ladybug's mind, faster and faster until she could no longer tell what she was saying. She tried to fight back, but she was finding it difficult to maintain control. She had no idea the voices were gone, nor that she had been screaming, until she heard Tikki voice,"Marinette! Marinette!"

Ladybug collapsed against the stairs near her bed as she transformed back, sliding down to the floor, all energy spent, wanting so desperately to let her Kwami inside and grieve with her, mourn with her, just be with her, but terrified of what she might do to her. "Tikki,"

"Marinette you need help!" Tikki says worriedly.

"No one can help me,"Marinette growls.

"Only you can stop what you can become ,"The voice cackled.

"What do you want?"

"To save the future, of course," Misfortune replied, "Thats what you need to do to stop Chat Blanc from becoming."

"Chat..." Marinette whispered as she her head spiral of what she has done.

"Marinette fight it, I know you can do it!" Tikki urged not knowing what she can do.

"Don't you see she is a part of me. A part I can't control." She whispered her fists unclenched as negative energy drained out of her eyes returned to blue.

She felt tired and weak and sick. I grabbed her stomach and fell to the floor curling into a ball, "Marinette?"

Marinette took a breath, "Don't worry. I got it."

"Marinette you need to be devilized." Tikki says as she hug Marinette cheek from happiness as Marinette was no longer in pain.

"I know, I know. But I...I Can't.." Marinette says as she pulled her knees together to her chest, "Tikki I don't know what to do."

"Oh I wish Master Fu was here. He would know what to do," Tikki comments worriedly.

"Me too," Marinette sighed as she rested on her bed, "Me too."

That night she had a restless sleep as as storm appeared her eyes shot open as lightning flashed, lighting up her whole room, she closed the curtains. The voice was gone and Marinette sighed in relief as she pulled out her diary.

Dear Diary,

Tonight I've had no control over 'Misfortune'. I discovered that Hawkmoth true identity is Gabriel Agreste. We have to attack his liar but now I fear that something worse will happen. The akuma still believe Adrien is Chat and after tonight. I KNOW he is absolutely not. Chat Noir would know if he was living with Hawkmoth. Chat Noir is opposite of Adrien as he is care free spirit. Which sadly Adrien is uncapable of doing because of how watched he is by his father. I suspect this akuma is more tainted as future Gabriel tainted for me to believe.I almost took Chat Noir ring and did what? Almost made a wish to bring back Adrien mother so he can finally have his family. Its selfish of me to not do it. Now I know how Chat Blanc comes to be in the future. If I take his miraculous he will be easily akumatized by Hawkmoth. Who then uses him to act like he was Adrien who would side with his father to bring back his mother. I can't let him make a wish with the cat and Ladybug charms. Chat is right that it would be wrong. I shouldn't take the easy way. But I hate to admit that the easy way is better.But by now I am under the influence of temptation and fear I won't have control any longer.I don't know what to do, I'm not a trained Guard...

Marinette stopped writing then remember how Master Fu mistake was finally repair. The temple. The origins of the Miraculous charms.

There was a thunder roared outside, Catching her off guard she looked at the eye of the storm, "I know what to do."

The next day Marinette took control of her destiny as she figured out what to do. It took her about a week to set her secret plan in motion. She had thought about her elaborate plan for every detail. Creating fake website and detailing everything she can. However, more guilt fell upon her as she began avoiding her friends. It was until her last day when Ms. Bustier called her out since she was not able to participate with a project her secret was exposef. It wasn't the best reaction to Marinette leaving. Even for Chloe in the last minute threw a party as she was about to leave with her mom. Everyone was upset with Marinette leaving as she they began to ask her about it.

"Sorry guys," Marinette apologized to everyone, "But it was a great opportunity to be intern designer in China."

"That you didn't bother to tell your best friend," Alya comments sadly as she left the conversation.

"Alya!" Marinette called out as she went after her. as she left the school, "Alya!"

"I can't believe you didn't tell anyone Marinette,"Alya says as she paused with crossed arms to face her, "Especially me!"

Marinette began scratching the back of her head as she knew it was going to be nearly impossible to lie to her now more than ever, "I'm sorry it was hardest thing to try and tell you."

"So you thought you can escape and avoid this," Alya said angrily.

Marinette sighed, "I'm sorry."

Alya frown disappeared, "Its ok. So I guess your leaving then."

"Yeah," Marinette sighed in disappointment from her lies, "But I'll be back its only for a couple months."

"Good," Alya smiled as she pulled her into a hug, "You know this be a perfect time to tell your feelings for Adrien."

"No," Marinette smiled, "That's why its easier for me to leave."

"Bye, I'm going to miss you girlfriend."

"Me too," Marinette smiled, "I uh, have to go now." Marinette excuse herself.

Alya then yelled out goodluck as she ran back home. The pain started to grow as she ran from Alya as she went home.

Her parents took it the hardest as this time they were not able to follow her and create a new bakery. Marinette parents had all her luggage down ready to head to the train station. However she still had to pack one more thing. She marched over to her backpack, flipped open the lid and dug through it, yanking out the miraculous egg which lay upon it is a picture. She glared at it for a moment...Her and Chat Noir.

"Sorry." Marinette chucked the picture into a messy drawer, shattering the glass and breaking the frame. Their relationship was like that picture since a week ago: damaged beyond repair. She pulled out the horse miraculous and set them on her head.

That was it. She was ready. Nothing holding her back now. No excuses left. So...why wasn't she moving?

Here was her family, her home, her legacy as Ladybug. Two years, two long years to save the city, and now she was leaving. Leaving behind everything she had worked so hard to build. She finally was able to stand her own ground, she was able to start her career as a designer, she became the guardian, and she became a great hero for Paris. She'll miss every last one of her friends new and old. From Alya to Kagami, then from Adrien to Luka. Then Chat Noir-

A tear streaked down her cheek, leaving a salty taste on her lips. She couldn't leave him, she couldn't...she needed him..."Marinette.."Tikki interrupted her thoughts as she saw tears, "Everything will be okay."

"I can do this" Marinette's face hardened as she lied to herself, putting up a solid barrier around her heart. "Its the only way."

With that cold thought, Marinette slung her bag over her shoulder and walked out her door into the bakery. Her parents dropped her off at the train station where all her friends even Adrien was there to say goodbye. She avoided him the most as he would want to figure about her fake internship more . After her bon voyage she headed her way. However, an akuma had appear in Paris and Marinette used the horse miraculous to transport back. However, Misfortune voice back to haunt her during battle, "Miss me?"

"Of course," Ladybug growls as she tried to avoid the voice in the back of her head. As well, Chat Noir attempt to talk about what happened that night with Ladybug taking his miraculous.

At the end of the battle when Ladybug de-evilized the akuma, Misfortune took over her thoughts like a storm.

"Your time has run out Marinette I am now in control." Misfortune screamed in her head.

"Ladybug!" She heard Chat Noir and the rest of the miraculous heros called out as Ladybug started falling down.

She started to roll over the floor. Her head pounding. Her chest revolted up and down at a rampant rate. Her breathing sharpened she could hear a loud screeching sound in my ears. She felt dizzy her head hurted so bad. She couldn't move. Her vision went in and out.

Chat Noir loomed over her as he tried to shake him out of it till she did, "Chat?"

"I'm right here m'lady," Chat Noir said as he held her up.

"You always are, "She smiled as looked up at him happy, while inside was the opposite.

Thunder shook the Paris later the evening. Ladybug in the end was able to avoid his conversation. Ladybug was out on the rooftops lightning illuminating her path, then throwing her into darkness again. Ladybug appeared to her first stop. She appeared in the doorway balcony of La Grand Paris. The large spacious balcony that can be accessed through the center and right side rooms, large windows run the length of the room facing the balcony giving an expansive view of the city. The balcony has several white chairs and sofas around a small blue table in the center part and a single white chair on the right side. There was several small trees in white pots adorn the balcony and the balcony is fenced off with flower stylized metal bars the middle and white stone pillars to the sides. She then knocked on the balcony door.

Chloe then woke up and went to the door. He face frowned to see her visitor, "What are doing here?"

"To give you this." Ladybug pulled out the Bee Miraculous from within her yo yo.

Chloe expression immediately changed with concern as she accepted it, "What? Why? I thought I wasn't good enough to be a hero."

"It wasn't your fault. And you are good enough to be a hero."

Chloe sighed trying to be difficult, "You should of thought of that before."

"Chloe I'm sorry, I guess this was hopeless and you don't want to be...."

"No, I didn't say that. I accept your apology," Chloe pull the bee miraculous closer.

Ladybug sighed with relief, "You know the secret identities of the others Miraculous holders. You are one of the strongest holders who been able to fight off Hawkmoth. So I need you to take charge and take care of them."

"What do you mean?" Chloe started to question.

Ladybug place her hand on her shoulder, "I can't answer that. But be the leader I know you can be." Ladybug smiled then swung her yoyo to jump off the roof.

"Wow, you let the drama queen be a hero again." Misfortune voice reappeared.

"I'm not done," Ladybug growled as she swung across the city as she block her out.

Ladybug then arrive to the window shield of Alix. Ladybug tapped on her window and set down the miracle egg with a letter. As soon as she saw Alix waking up, ladybug left her home.

"What makes you think she'll be able to help you?" Misfortune snickered.

Ladybug gulped as she really didn't know but knew the miracle egg was no longer safe with her, "with you in my head I have no other choice."

"So you can't resist my darkness eh?"

"You made me tried to take Chat Noir ring. I'm only taking precautions."

"Aww, you still think this is Hawkmoth doing. Oh, what is the hero Ladybug going to do now?"

But before Ladybug can argue her thoughts were interrupted, Chat Noir was running along side her. Ladybug and Misfortune growled as they leap onto a roof top distancing themselves.

"Hey Chat," she said with a smile, shocking him with her tone.

"M'lady what is going on?" Chat Noir asked as it started to pour rain on them.

"Um I have to go."

"No! I'm done with all the secrets. What is going on with you?" Chat Noir cried out angrily.

"I just don't want to end up like a akumatized villian," Ladybug said as she tried to hold her tears back.

"What?" Chat Noir voice toned down.

"Something happened, I got akumatized and now I have to go." Ladybug said still trying to hold back tears.

"No, you don't!" Chat Noir argued. "We can de-evilized together. Why do you have to go? What about us?"

"I'm sorry there is no us on this. I just don't belong here. I hope you understand," Ladybug urged for him to understand.

"I'm trying to understand." Chat Noir began to yell.

"We might find our place in this world someday and I can be your partner. But at least for now I have to go." Ladybug says as she unified the horse miraculous.

"I want you to stay."

"I can't, I gotta go my own way." Ladybug urged for him to understand.

"What about everything we've been through? What about trust?"

Ladybug was on the verge of tears. "Chat, I... I can't...I just can't..."

"Ladybug, I know you. You can beat this."

"Please...leave me be. I don't want to hurt you," Ladybug then divide herself from Ladybug miraculous.

"Ladybug?" Tikki asked as she looked around in confusion.

"Not anymore," Ladybug who was now the horse holder as she pulled out the jewelry box. She place the earring in the box and toss it in the air for Chat Noir to catch, "Here Mister Bug, take care of her."

Chat Noir caught the jewelry box, "I'm not letting you do his alone. You are not going, not without me. I know you."

"I'm sorry but...I don't think you know me anymore..." She says as she created a portal and went through.

See she didn't do it!" Adrien breath heavily tired from his attempts from breaking the chains that held him on the wall.

"She does seem persistent," Volpina said plainly as she transformed back to herself.

"You won't win." Adrien growled in full belief of what he was saying.

"This is how it happened, arm candy," Volpina mocked as she bobbled her head in thought

"I don't believe you, "Adrien argues once again as he strained with exhaustion

"No, you hope that's its not true. How about we go on a field trip," Lila smirked as she pulled out the horse miraculous from her pouch. She then transformed in combination with the fox miraculous and create a portal. She then snapped her fingers as the chains were control by a amuk that dragged Adrien behind her.

"Where are you taking me?" Adrien growled as he struggled through the chains that tighten around him.

"uh, visiting hours but your the visitor, "Lila chuckles as she went through the portal. As Lila stepped forward toward her portal as she tossed Adrien in first, "You have a victim who need closure." She announced.

Adrien was thrown in like a sack into a dark room where the only light coming was from a large ceiling window. Adrien wiggled himself to see figures standing a distances away.

"Ain't it my lucky day," The voice chuckled.

Adrien froze as he looks up to see where that voice was coming from. He hasn't heard that voice in months. It was Ladybug or as she is now know as Misfortune.

Adrien stared as she approached him. Her ladybug outfit was a black with white spots. The only words that was able to escape Adrien mouth is, "M'lady..."

"I knew I recognized that chiseled chin," Misfortune chucked as she approached the spotlight created from the window, "Hello Adrien."

"What happened," He asked as he broke that tension as she circled around him.

"Oh I guess you have became forgetful being her pet." Misfortune chuckles.

Adrien wanted to avoid her strange conversations, "Please tell me."

"You are still clueless. You couldn't even tell that I was hopelessly in love with you. So I guess your here to get the truth on what role you played to my success,k Misfortune chuckled, "The world is cruel I do everything to save it, just to be treated like this. Well it got what it deserved," Ladybug began before being cut of by Adrien.

"You are a hero."

"Hero? Oh, kitty I haven't been called that in years, as I recalled you made me aware of that years ago," Misfortune barked.

Adrien began shaking his head, "I didn't mean it."

"I should thank you for it though. You can say it again now that I accepted it." Ladybug chuckles.

"No your Lady..." Adrien argues being cutoff.

"Don't mention who I use to be!" Misfortune yelled, "I'm not her, I'm a monster of misfortune. You are obviously in denial while the rest of the world accepted it."

Adrien yelled back, "No, your not!"

"I am a monster. I let the akuma take over. I was tortured on the inside. Humiliated by it, and there was no reprieve, no respite, not for one lousy second when I thought I was getting help. It was...it was a catalog of violation. I had no control over my body or my fate," Misfortune sighed as some of her humanity took control over her emotions.

"I deserve everything for not helping you," Adrien expressed, "I am here now as a plaything of volpina because I've failed. I am fighting her for a chance to save you. It exhausting to act like there is hope but I still believe..."

"You still believe? Believing is for dreamers and were not in a dream," Ladybug mocked as another figure appeared next to her, it was akumatized viperion.

"Yes, I do because I know your real self is in there. Ready to step into taking back power."

"I was looking for her for long time. But your Marinette, your Ladybug is gone. I was at place of no rest, no peace, just...just pain, and hurt and burning, and freezing. Trying to fight it all to protect you and this world that we cared so much about. You were suppose to save me," Misfortune said in a disappointing tone.

"I'm sorry," Adrien said as he looked away from her.

"Sorry?" Misfortune said with a pause, "Adrien, I didn't forget your birthday, or making you a gifts for any occasion, your crazy schedules with fencing to photo shoot, fifth names days, your favorite flavors in macaroons, or even ...your mother disappearance. You let me sacrifice myself for you... I was a hero... but I gave it up to be a villian for you.... Its why were here.... I sacrifice the hero in me for you... and you.. you weren't worth it."

Adrien sighed at how everything was his fault, "Your upset.."

"Yeah, you think? Because worse of all you were my partner, and I trusted you"

"I'm sorry," Adrien said with his head down, "Let me help you..."
