Q4: What the heck is wrong with Chloé?

Q5: Speaking of Chloé, what the heck is wrong with Adrien? Let me at him! I want to rip his head off!

"Oh heck to the no!" Alya growled, clenching her fist. "This is supposed to be a perfect night. And I'm not letting anyone ruin that for us,"

Before Alya could even remove her earrings, Adrien shocked both of us. He pried Chloé off of him, with a very disgusted and angry look on his.

"WHAT THE HECK, CHLOÉ?!" He shouted, attracting the attention of the people around us.

"Adrien-kins, please, I --" Chloé pleaded, reaching out to hold his arm.

"No more, Chloé! Shut up! Just shut up!" Adrien flung his arm away from her. His nose flared. His green eyes were glowing.

Alya and I took a step back. Alya put her earrings back on. Our eyes were as wide as saucers and we were quivering with fear.

"Adrien, calm down," Chloé said, uneasily. She looked around to see the audience that was watching them, interestingly.

"I said, shut up!" Adrien hollered. "I'm tired of you! I'm tired of this! What's wrong with you? We made a deal in Italy! Remember the second day? I would spend the whole day with you and let you do whatever you wanted with me, provided that once the day ends, you leave me alone!"

"But Adrien-kins--" Chloé begged.

"I said shut up!" Adrien stopped. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. When he reopened them, his eyes were much softer. "This is the last straw, Bourgeois. We are no longer friends," Adrien began to walk away.

"Adrien, please, no! Think this over! We are made for each other. We have been ever since we were kids," Chloé held his forearm. "We're both blondes, both rich and beautiful,"

"But you're forgetting one thing. We aren't meant to be," Adrien ripped his hand off from her grip. "I'm sorry, Chloé. It's not you. It's me. I can't find myself to like you anymore. You've given me no reason to do so," Then he gave her a side glance. "Huh. So it's actually you, not me,"

"But Adrien-kins!" She cried, on the ground, holding her hand out to him. "I love you!" More tears came in after that. "I love you more than anything!"

Adrien took in a sharp breath and looked away from her. "Goodbye, Chloé. And please do me a favour and try not to get to akuma-tised. I may have broken off our friendship, but somehow, after all you've done, I still care about you,"

He looked up and started walking, until his green eyes met mine. Panic seized his eyes and Adrien froze, before sighing. Then he started to walk towards Alya and I.

When he got to Alya and I, he brushed past me and went to Alya. He bent down and whispered into her ear for a couple of seconds. Then he intertwined his fingers with mine, and led us away from Alya, Chloé and the crowd. The crowd seemed to part as we walked past them.

"What's happening?" I mouthed to her, looking over my shoulder.

"Don't worry. It's going to be okay," She mouthed back, clasping her hands in front of her, shyly smiling.

She was unaware that Nino had approached and was currently behind her. He covered her eyes with his hands and I could see how confused and scared she was. I wanted to see how she would react once Nino revealed himself, but Adrien and I were out of the door and the crowd merged together again.

Adrien had led me to the back door, and we were now outside.

After a long silence, he sighed. My heart throbbed for him. I brushed my thumb across his knuckles and immediately, his eyes shot up to meet mine. I took his other hand and interlocked our fingers together.

Adrien sighed again. "I guess I should explain what happened back there,"

I didn't reply. He was right. I wanted to know what happened a few minutes ago. But it's up to him if he wanted to tell me.

"I was with Nino. We were dancing when he said that he was thirsty. He asked me if I wanted anything to drink but I said no. So he went to get something to drink," Adrien looked away from me. His eyes were on our feet.

"A few seconds after he disappeared, someone tapped my shoulder. I turned to see that it was Chloé," Adrien continued. "She said that she wanted to try some psychology thing that she saw online. Something about reading my mind,"

I frowned. That sounded fishy already.

Then Adrien looked up at me. "That was my exact reaction. I was suspicious. So I told her that I had somewhere to go. I lied that you just texted me to meet at the front of the auditorium,"

I nodded my head. That was a believable lie.

"So I turned to pretend to go the front of the auditorium. Really, I was going to find Nino and if that failed, I was going to the bathroom. But just as I turned, Chloé said something that caught my attention," Adrien frowned, looking away.

I frowned, too. What could she possibly say that could make Adrien turn around?

"She said that you weren't coming to the dance. I told her that I didn't believe her. Then she said that it was true. She and her father were at your bakery to get cupcakes for a party she's having this weekend. A pool party or something. Then they heard your mother from upstairs say that you aren't allowed to go to prom," Adrien explained.

I bit my tongue from doing anything irrational. Chloé lied to Adrien about me not showing up so that she could have him to herself?

You know, I felt a little bad for Chloé, because of how harshly Adrien treated her. But now, I feel no pity for her. She deserved it. She actually deserved more.

Then I remembered to calm down. I can't let Hawk Moth target me. If I'm akuma-tised, then it'll be next to impossible to take down Hawk Moth and free the akuma.

That's why Adrien kept taking deep breaths. He was trying not to lash out. If he got akuma-tised, Paris would be doomed.

Think happy thoughts, Marinette.

Think about how Chloé was just desperate for Adrien. Her huge crush got in the way, and she would do anything to make Adrien love her back as much as she loved him.

Great going Marinette. Now you feel more pity for her than you did before.

Mission accomplished, I guess?

Adrien proceeded. That's when I realised that he paused just let that bit of information sink in. "I didn't believe her for two reasons. One, you would have told me about not coming. I'm sure you would have. Whether telling Alya to tell me, or texting me - you would have found a way to tell me,"

I couldn't help the smile that spread on my face when he said that. He knows me just almost as well as Alya.

"Two, a pool party and you're buying cakes for people to eat? Are you trying to make people gain calories while they are out in the open in bikinis and swimming trunks? That's stupid," Adrien rolled his eyes. "And also, I know that the mayor has a lot of things to do, and he would have ordered them by phone, or online, or he'd have sent someone to do it,"

I couldn't agree more with what he said.

"I told her that in that case, I was going to go and check on you and I started to walk. But she grabbed my forearm, making me spin around and planted a kiss on my lips. Then she held the sides of my head and started to make-out with me," Adrien shuddered.

"But I saw you hold the sides of her head and kiss her back," I frowned and bit my lip.

"She was biting my tongue. I was holding the sides of her head to pull my head back, but that girl has got some strong teeth," Adrien shivered. I'm not sure if it was because of the temperature or how disgusted he was.

I started to laugh. "That sounds so funny. It looks like you're kissing her but you're actually trying to pull your tongue out from her teeth. Painful, but funny. How did you get her off you then?"

"There's a spot behind everyone's neck that can make one feel pain. I learnt that when I did karate. I found it and pressed it hard. She jerked back slightly and I took my chance to push her off," Adrien explained.

There was a brief moment of silence after that.

I couldn't help asking what I asked next. "How was it?"

"How was what?" Adrien asked, his eyes locked with mine.

"Kissing Chloé. How was it kissing Chloé?" I asked, in a soft voice for some reason.

"It wasn't as good as kissing you," Adrien murmured. As if on cue, a strand of my blue hair fell to my face and he tucked it behind his ear.

A small smile crept onto my face.

Adrien smiled, too. Then he started to lean in. But I held his head back to prevent him from kissing me, even though I really wanted him to kiss me.

"Don't," I shook my head. "You'll probably taste like Chloé's lip gloss. And you have her saliva in your mouth,"

"You're right," Adrien's eyes widened. "I better go and get something to wash it down,"

He started to walk back to the auditorium when stopped. "Wait, the only way you can taste her saliva is if we do tongue to tongue," A mischievous grin came to his face.

"Don't get any ideas, mister," I raised an eyebrow. "Now let's go and get you something to drink," I grabbed his forearm.

"It sounds like you want to get me drunk," Adrien rolled his eyes. Then he smirked. "Are you doing that just so that you can do what you want with my body and I won't remember?"

I turned to give him a side glare. He clearly ignored it because of what he said next, "Well, in that case, do what you want, what you want with my body. Do what you want. Don't stop. Let's party,"

I elbowed him in the chest.

"Ow! I'm just singing along to the song? Can't you hear it playing?" Adrien rubbed his chest.

I stopped walking to listen. Then I frowned once I realised that Adrien was right. That song was playing. How coincidental that it was playing right now, when Adrien just said what he said.

I wondered who was the DJ for the night. My eyes scanned the perimeter and landed on non-other than Nino.

He may have been wearing a suit and tie with a mask covering his identity - and looked amazing - but the one thing that gave him away were the headphones that were around his neck.

His head was bobbing to the music. His eyes roamed the room until they landed beside me. He grinned and skimmed his hands down the sides of his body.

I looked at him, weirdly. Then I turned to see that Adrien was doing the same thing. But Adrien was touching himself, closing his eyes and feeling the music. His grin was as big as Nino's. Then I connected the dots. Nino was probably looking at Adrien.

Then Alya whacked the back of Nino's head. I was chuckling at how stupid Adrien and Nino were. I guess that they are idiot friends. That's how they get along.

I took Adrien's hand and started to walk, looking at Nino. While Nino was rubbing the back of his head, his brown eyes locked with mine and he gave me a crooked smile, with a small wave.

I saluted him, chuckling again. Then I moved towards the drinks table dragging Adrien behind me.

Adrien let me lead him there. I let go of him and poured him some punch in medium sized glass.

Holding the drink out to him, I said "Here you go,"

Adrien just chuckled, accepting the glass. "Wow. Someone's eager to kiss me,"

I blushed, remembering the first time that he said that was when we were at his house and we were doing that assignment where he asked if he should kiss me.

My mind went back to when he actually did kiss me on that day. And how Chloé was furious. But Chloé was pushed out of my head, somehow.

I was thinking about how Adrien and I were explaining the meaning of the story and how Adrien said that the servant enjoyed the kiss and didn't pull away.

Then a thought hit me!

Was Adrien talking about the character? Or was he talking about himself indirectly? Did Adrien like the kiss and not pull away? He did say that kissing Chloé wasn't as good as kissing me.

So did that mean that I'm not a horrible kisser? Relief flooded all over me.

"Aren't you going to drink that?" I snapped back to reality and noticed that Adrien wasn't drinking the punch. He was staring at me.

"I'm too busy drinking in how beautiful you look tonight, Mari," Adrien replied, with a wirk. Then he grinned. "Got to give myself a pat on the back for that one," And since he is very cocky, he actually did pat himself on the back.

Whereas I was trying very hard not to look like a tomato - and failing miserably. No big surprise there. "Thanks,"

"What?" Adrien arched an eyebrow. "Aren't you going to tell me that I look great tonight?"

"When have you never looked great?" I blurted out. "Uh, I mean, you already know that you look great, why would you want my opinion?"

Adrien chuckled. "Because your opinion matters to me," Then his the corners of his lips lift to form a charming smile.

I couldn't help but smile back.

"I heard what you said first, by the way," Adrien said, before sipping the punch. "It's good to know what your opinion about how I dress,"

I blushed again. I can't just keep my stupid mouth shut.

Ever heard of the phrase 'Think before you talk', Marinette?

"I do like my hat, though," Adrien removed his hat to reveal his curly hair that I styled a couple of hours ago.

"Hey!" I frowned, as a thought hit me. "Are you trying to hide what I did to your hair from the others?"

"No," Adrien snorted. "I know that I wouldn't live to see tomorrow if I did that,"

A smirk was tugging my lips. "You know me so well,"

"Of course I do. I have to put up with you everyday," Adrien rolled his eyes. "I thought that I would look weird if I didn't wear a hat. It wouldn't go with my outfit, see?"

He turned around and for the first time tonight, I got to see his outfit. He wore a black long waistcoat with a white shirt. The first button of the white shirt was undone. Then he wore black pants and black shoes.

He looked so classy - as if he lived in the Victorian era or something. The hat just took the cake - it completed his look.

"I suppose you're right," I said. My eyes look at his hair and an image flickered through my mind. A snicker escaped my lips.

"What? What's so funny?" Adrien asked, putting his hat back on his head.

When he put his hat back on, the snicker developed into a chuckle. "You look like the Mad Hatter. You know, from Alice in Wonderland,"

Adrien gave me a weird look.

"You've got his curly hair. And your hat is very similar to his," I explained. "But he has orange frizzy hair. Although, blond hair and orange hair aren't all that different, "

Adrien frowned, before rolling his eyes. "So I suppose that you'd want me to make you a cup of tea?"

"Yes, that would be quite nice," I gave him my best smile.

Adrien looked at the table and pretended to frown. "Oh no. I'm afraid there are no tea bags or anything to do with tea at this table because it's prom, and who the heck drinks tea when it's extremely stuffy in here and everyone is dancing?"

"Me. That's who," I answered. "And it's not that stuffy. The main door and the windows are open,"

Adrien rolled his eyes. "You're crazy. The lack of oxygen in here seems to be clogging your mind," Then he finished his drink and set his cup down on the table. "Maybe a dance will clear your head,"
