"Wake up, girl! We've got one more day to prom! Be ready to get your hair done!" Alya's voice came through the speaker and she hang up.
One more day!
Yesterday, before Chat Noir and I went to the broadcasting TV station, I was at Alya's painting my nails and picking out jewellery and shoes to go with our dresses.
Before I went to bed last night - or should I say, this morning, I made for us some masks to wear for the masquerade theme.
Alya doesn't know about this. I'll surprise her. Setting my phone down, I got out of bed and decided to get ready for school.
After about ten minutes, I got out of the shower and walked to my wardrobe. Putting my hands on my hips, I decided to pick out an outfit to wear.
My phone began to vibrate, beside my bedside. I sat on my bed as I picked my phone. It displayed that I had one voicemail.
Typing in my passcode, I opened up the voicemail to listen to it.
"Happy Pick-Up Lines Day! For the rest of today, I plan use all the pick-up lines I know and I'll try them on you. You'll tell me which one you like best. What do you think of this one — how is it that I know hundreds of digits of pi but not know the digits of your phone number?"
I chuckled to myself. That was so geeky yet it somehow made my cheeks turn red.
"Where was I?" I asked, out loud to myself.
"I believe that you were going to change into your clothes," Tikki flew to sit on my table.
"Oh yeah!" I smacked my forehead. "What would I be without you, Tikki?"
"You'd be naked, that's for sure," Tikki replied. "I'll give you your privacy. I'll be in the little kwami's room if you need me,"
I nodded my head as she flew into the bathroom. I decided to wear a sundress with my favourite pair of sandals today.
It was only morning yet the sun was threatening to melt the window down. I'm pretty sure that I won't spare us today.
I grabbed my aviators, my purse and called Tikki, to tell her that I was done. Running down the steps and grabbing a slice of toast, I shouted goodbye to my parents.
I shut the door behind me once I heard their response. I got out of through the bakery, and I made sure to lock it with the spare key that I was given.
The harsh sunlight entered my eyes and I put on my aviators. The sky was blue, dabbed with white clouds but they weren't that many.
The birds flew across the sky, chirping as they went by. While the birds took over the sky, people took over the streets.
Most were dressed in an outfit similar to me, but in a more professional way. As I walked by to school, a lady moved passed me with sunglasses, as she held her cup of coffee on one hand and held her phone, pressed to her ear, with her other hand.
"How do you drink coffee in this weather?" I wondered out loud. I honestly found this crazy. Coffee may be good, but it isn't good for every occassion.
Upon hearing my question, Tikki popped her head out of my bag. "I don't know what people see in coffee, honestly,"
"What do you mean?" I asked her, while carefully watching if people were seeing her. They weren't, but I didn't let my guard down.

"Coffee is the most disgusting beverage I've ever tasted. It's bitter and has this terrible aftertaste which lasts for sometime," Tikki shuddered with disgust.
"Coffee is life, Tikki. Without coffee, most of Paris wouldn't be able to function properly," I pointed out.
"When you were a kid, you didn't rely on coffee. So why now?" Tikki shot.
"When you older, you don't have as much energy as you used to when you were a kid. Carbohydrates isn't broken down into sugar. It's broken down into fat. That's why they need a boost," I explained.
"Coffee has caffeine in it which isn't really good for people," Then Tikki sighed. "Well, people want things that are bad for them. Like junk food,"
"And candy," I raised an eyebrow at her. Tikki treasures candy more than anyone that I know.
"Touché," She gave me a grin before disappearing back into my bag.
Feeling a bit more cheery, I skipped the rest of the way to school. I was a few minutes early to class and so I settled my books next to Alya, who was busy on her blog.
"Did you watch yesterday's show on Channel 7?" Alya asked me as soon as I sat down. "Ladybug and Chat Noir were on,"
"Oh yeah, I remember watching a bit of that," I couldn't help but smile a little. If only Alya knew my secret. "Something about how to stop Hawk Moth from wrecking havoc on Paris?"
"Yeah," Alya turned to look at me. "Ladybug and Chat Noir are so smart to figure that out. I just thought that he would attack any innocent victim,"
She frowned. "Then again, when I was Lady WiFi, I was mad that Chloé was Ladybug. I should have seen that connection!"
"Speaking of which," Another voices intruded. It was a no-brainer on who it belonged to. "Is your name WiFi? Because I feel a connection,"
"Uh, Sherlock? Lady WiFi is right there," I used my thumb to point at Alya. "Get your facts right next time, okay?"
"What's going on?" Nino turned to face Alya and I. "Why are you hitting on my girl, dude?"
"I'm not," Adrien replied. "Today's that day,"
"What day?" Nino asked.
"That day," Adrien stressed.
"The day you ask out Marinette?"
Adrien slugged Nino in the arm. "No dude. That day,"
"The day that you shave your legs?"
"No. Try again,"
"The day that you have to go and visit your grandma,"
"No,"
"The day that you have to skip school to go for some modelling shoot?"
"You're going for a modelling shoot?" Chloé said, very loudly, to Adrien. Great, now we have the attention of the whole class.
"No, Chloé. Last chance, Nino,"
"Dude, come on. Through me a bone here. I have no idea of what you are talking about," Nino shrugged simply. I don't know whether he was playing dumb or actually being serious.
Adrien let out a groan, before rubbing his temples. "Pick-up line day,"
"Oh! That day," Nino's eyes lit up in remembrance.
Adrien gave him a dirty look. "Oh, so now you remember,"
"You can pick me up any time, Adrien," Chloé said, flirtatiously, before sending Adrien a wink.
"Maybe another time," Adrien chose his words carefully, laying it down gently on Chloé. "Like never," The last part he muttered it to Nino.
Then he frowned. "Why am I even talking to you? You just exposed me in public,"

"Hey, don't blame me," Nino raised his hands in surrender. "I didn't know you were talking about today,"
"But I said, that day,"
"You weren't clear enough,"
"Are you kidding me? I couldn't have been more subtle," Adrien sighed. "How do you get anything through this bonehead, Alya?"
"Hey! Don't call me a bonehead, you idiot," Nino punched Adrien in the arm.
Adrien and Nino glared each other for a second, before they lunged at each other. They started to tussle until our male teacher walked in.
"Get your books. Sit down. Adrien and Nino, do you want to take whatever you're doing outside?" He raised an eyebrow at the boys, who shook their heads.
The English lesson commenced and immediately, I was very bored. My mind was focusing on how we were closing school very soon, and how prom was tomorrow.
I was so excited, that I couldn't contain myself.
When the teacher started to write, Adrien turned around and asked me for my English Dictionary. I handed it to him and he turned back to face the board.
My thigh vibrated silently and I frowned. My eyes met Alya's and I raised an eyebrow. She shook her head. So it wasn't Alya who was texting me.
What I like about the relationship between Alya and I is that we can have a whole conversation by just using our eyebrows, our eyes and our heads.
Silently, and watching the teacher like a hawk, I pretended to look for something in my bag. My hand fished out my phone and I put the passcode.
It was from the boy sitting in front of me.
I could feel someone over my shoulder and I knew it was Alya. She couldn't suppress her smile, and neither could I. But I wiped the smile off my face very quickly before we were caught.

"Are you a camera?" Adrien whispered in my ear. It was lunch time and I sat next to him, while Nino sat with Alya on the opposite bench. "Because every time I look at you, I smile,"
As I felt the blush creeping onto my skin, I mentally cursed myself.
Luckily, before Adrien could say anything else, he looked up behind me. I turned around to see Lila. Neverously, I gulped, and tried to hide myself.
"Hey guys," Lila greeted. "Do you mind if I steal Adrien for some time? We were supposed to work on our Biology assignment,"
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that," Adrien started to stand up and grabbed his tray of food. Then he bent real low and whispered to me. "Can I borrow a kiss? I promise I'll give it back,"
"Lila's waiting for you," I said, a bit upset. Then I frowned to myself. Why was I upset?
Adrien just sighed before he left the table and followed Lila on the way out.
"Ouch," Nino commented. "That must hurt. It's like being hit by a ton of bricks,"
"What are you talking about?" I asked Nino.
"And I'm the slow one," Nino rolled his eyes.
"Lila. Adrien. Together. Alone?" Alya arched an eyebrow at me. "That doesn't make you feel anything?"
"It does," I admitted, in a small voice. Suddenly, my fries and burger didn't seem at all appetizing. I've lost my appetite.
"I know what Adrien should have told you!" Nino suddenly exclaimed. "He should have said, "Are you McDonald's? Because I'm lovin' it,","
He bursted out laughing for a couple of seconds. Alya and I just looked at each other, both confused and unamused.
"Get it? Because you have fries and a burger? The classic McDonald's food? All you're missing is soda," Nino explained.
"Oh," Both Alya and I said simultaneously. Then we began to laugh after that.
"Geez. And I'm the slow one," Nino rolled his eyes at both of us.
Suddenly, a loud crash came from the wall which was perpendicular to where we were sitting.
Instinctively, I acted quickly. "Get down!" I instructed Alya and Nino. Since both were paralysed with fear, they obeyed.
I went under the cafeteria table with them and my eyes narrowed, trying to look at the cause of the loud crash.
It was a man, wearing a very stylish coat that reached his ankles and flew in the wind, and beneath it was a black shirt scribbled with graffiti and black denim jeans with chains weaving in and out some of the loops of his jeans.
Apart from his clothes, his face was also worth a person's attention. He had jet black hair, gelled back, to go with his black eyes, which really stood out thanks to the mascara that he wore. Not to mention his stubble that rested on his perfect, well-defined jawline.
I can say that this has been the most beautiful villain that Chat and I have seen, yet.
"Women!" His loud voice chanted. "Women are all the same!"
"What's his problem?" Alya asked, folding her arms.
"Shh," I hushed her. "We shouldn't let him here us,"
"Women! You think they'll be faithful but they won't be! They're all the same! Very seductive! Crafty thinkers!" He boomed out.
"Excuse me--" Alya started to speak but Nino's hand over her mouth cut her off.
"This time, I will make them pay! All of them! I'll manipulate them to get my revenge!" He bellowed before he stretched out his hands.
All the tables were lifted and gasps were heard throughout the room. The man made the tables hit the walls with a deafening bang. Everyone began to scatter around the room.
That's perfect! With everyone moving up and about, then Alya and Nino won't see me escaping.
I acted fast. After careful timing, I blended in with a huge group of my classmates that we headed towards the door. Or so I thought.
Most were just running around in circles, probably too paralysed to even think. Midly annoyed, I tried to see a possible chance for an escape now that we were moving further from the door.
That's when I saw another door, not so far to my right, about 10 feet away. Bless the architect that designed this school.
The man saw us and he stretched out his hand to grab us all. But he didn't catch me because I took a step to the right and hid behind the trashcan.
Then an idea popped into my head. "Alya! Nino!" I shouted, along with the students that were being brought to the same height as the man.
Despite the many cries of other students, mine could still be heard.
"Marinette!" They both screamed back, pushing each other to try and see where I was.
"Why are you against me? And us boys for that matter?" A boy asked, from above ground with the others. "We're the same gender. We have nothing to do with this,"
"That is true," The beautiful man nodded his head, in agreement. "But I'm not sparing anyone. You might go and warn the other girls,"
"C'mon, dude! Just let everyone go!" Nino yelled. "You don't need to involve us. We're just high schoolers! Shouldn't you be picking on people your own size and age?"
"That's where you are wrong!" The man snarled. "I met the woman in high school! So it has everything to do with you!"
"So what are you trying to do? Ruin any chance of love? You're supposed to be a mature adult! You're supposed to handle this in a much more dignified manner!" Alya shouted.
Always count on team Nayla to stand up for the rest of the students. The two are both bold and brave.
"Shut up!" He retorted. "And you're not supposed to talk back to me since I'm an adult!"
"You sure aren't acting like one," Chloé rolled her eyes, and began to pick on her fingernails.
"What's that, blondie?!" He used his other free hand to grab Chloé and bring her to him so that hey could be face to face.
"Nothing! Nothing!" She quickly replied, squirming from the invisible grip on her.
"That's what my girlfriend said when I asked her what she was doing with my best friend!" He growled. "But I'm no idiot! It was clear that they were making out!"
Then he flung Chloé to the ground like used tissue. "You disgust me! Women should be machines, forced to love their master and only their master. Men should be terminated,"
The man turned to the young boy that told him that he was a guy and that he shouldn't be punished along with the rest of the girls. "You see why I need to terminate you? So that you don't steal my girlfriend!"
"Now I'll turn you all into my dream woman! Nadhriah selum pakara!" He shouted in a flash, all the girls were turned into Audrey Tautou - a very famous French model and actress. Did I mention that she is absolutely gorgeous?
Okay, Marinette. Instead of ogling at the beautiful model and actress, plus the attractive man in front of you, why don't you transform into Ladybug before your cover is blown?
Oh yeah, right!
Slipping out of the cafeteria was very easy, I just needed a place to transform. The nearest place that I could do that was under the large staircase that took us to drama class.
"I cannot believe that we went to Channel 7 for nothing," I grumbled as Tikki flew out of my purse. "I was expecting Paris to listen to what Chat and I told them,"
"You can't expect the changes to be immediate, Marinette," Tikki replied. "And look at this man's situation. Maybe he found out that his girlfriend/wife was cheating on him. If you found out that something like that happened to you, wouldn't you get mad?"
"Well, I suppose," I mumbled.
"See? Maybe people are being akuma-tised because of big reasons, not petty reasons. In this man's case, it's love. Love can make one go crazy - both the good way and the bad way,"
I gave Tikki a crooked smile. "I feel like an idiot right now for jumping into conclusions,"
"Don't be. It happens to the best of us," Tikki shrugged her shoulders. "And if it makes you feel better, you're an idiot most of the time,"
I laughed. "Okay, well, that is true,"
"All fun aside, Marinette, you need to defeat this baddie, before he finds you here," Tikki reminded me. "You know the drill. Let's do it!"
I nodded. "Tikki, spots on!"
The red kwami flew into my earrings turning them red with black polka dots. Using my index and middle fingers, I glided my fingers across my eyes to form my mask.
