I literally dragged myself to class today. I'm totally serious. I was on my stomach, with my arms stretching out as far as they can to grab onto land, as to pull me closer and closer to the door.
I was early to school today, so obviously, most of the teachers were in the teacher's lounge. I would be so embarrassed if one caught me in this position.
Alya got onto me and her extra weight was killing my back. "Yee-haw! Giddie up!"
"Sorry, partner but this is not a public transport vehicle. So please get off immediately," I groaned.
"Make me," Alya said, with a hint of sass in her tone.
"Alright," I took a deep breath and crawled over to the nearest desk. I grabbed one of its legs and put one hand over the other, while still clutching on the desk's leg.
Alya fell off and I was able to stand up again.
"Yes! I am victorious!" I cried out, punching my fist in the air when suddenly I was pulled from behind and I let out a scream.
"Horses don't stand on their fore feet," Alya gutted, while trying to hold me down so that she could kill me - er, I mean- so that she could sit on me.
"Well, they don't talk either, but I seem to be breaking all the rules and regulations that horses are supposed to follow," I grabbed Alya's fists in my hands and began to pull her back.
"Horses communicate by neighing - so technically, they do talk," Alya retorted, while trying to retract her fists from inside my hands.
"But you haven't heard me neigh even once, so technically, I'm not a horse," I shot.
"You were walking on fours instead of twos like a normal person," Alya raised an eyebrow and struggled some more.
"A normal person isn't as clumsy as I am," I rolled my eyes. "And correction: I was crawling,"
We began to argue some more before getting physical. However, a voice stopped us before things could get ugly.
"Girls, girls," A familiar smooth voice purred. "Please refrain from fighting. It isn't ladylike at all,"
"Oh? And what do you know, Adrien about being ladylike?" Alya raised an eyebrow.
Immediately, I remember when I was at his house and he was impersonating Chloé for our assignment.
The memory made me burst out laughing, causing the two to turn to face me with quizzing looks.
"Oh, trust me, Alya. He knows way too much of being a lady than anyone else that I know," I answered in between chuckles.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Adrien and Alya asked simultaneously. They both turned to face each other with confused but amused looks before their green and brown eyes met my blue ones.
"Oh, nothing," I brushed it off. I didn't feel like explaining it to them.
"Oh this. Oh that," Adrien mimicked me in a high pitched voice, making Alya burst out laughing. "Oh, I think that I sound ridiculous saying oh, all the time. Oh, I think that Adrien is a sexy beast and Alya is the queen of everything,"
"I don't sound like that," I huffed, folding my arms.
"I don't sound like that," Alya mimicked me, before the two burst out laughing.
"You two are meanies," I got up and went to my seat. Childish, I know, but at that moment, I had nothing else witty to say and I sort of blurted it out without thinking.

"Aww, Marinette," Alya followed me and I scooted away from her.
"She's so cute when she's mad," Adrien commented before sending me a wink. "The first mission of the day accomplished,"
I rolled my eyes because I knew what he meant by that. His mission for everyday is to make me irritated and to make me blush. So far he's completed one out of two.
"Nino, can I please sit with you, today?" I gave him a weary look after 10 minutes of teasing from the social queen and supermodel.
Nino paused to think about it.
"Don't tell me that you're thinking about it. I saved your sorry little butt in Italy," I folded my arms.
"My butt isn't that small," Nino frowned but his eyes were gleaming with amusement. "Excuse me as I pick up my self esteem which are in shatters on the floor,"
This made me double over in laughter. Nino is ridiculous at times.
"Okay, Nino. I'm sorry. You have a big butt, okay?" I apologised, while climbing over to seat with him. I shoved Adrien off his seat and he landed on the ground, groaning in pain.
"I didn't say yes," Nino raised an eyebrow.
"You didn't say no, either," I shot back. "Since I am such an optimistic person, I chose the positive option,"
"No?"
"Yes,"
"So...no,"
"No, I mean yes,"
"Wait. Is your answer yes or is it no?"
"It's yes, you idiot,"
"So you're agreeing with what I said?"
"No!"
"That's what I said - no,"
"No, I said yes, not no,"
"But you just said no twice,"
"No - aargh! That's because I was disagreeing with what you said,"
"But you just said that you agreed with what I said,"
"No, I didn't!"
"See? There you go again with the word 'no'. Someone's learnt a new word today,"
"Nino!"
"Marinette!"
"Hey!" Adrien's voice interrupted the little argument Nino and I were having.
"Do you mind?" Nino turned to look at him, in a bored tone.
"Yeah, because we were in the middle of something important," I arched my eyebrow.
Adrien slowly shifted his eyes between Nino and I. "And I'm not important? You nearly injured me, if it weren't for my amazing reflexes,"
"Oh, so you're okay," I said, nonchalantly. "Anyways, what was I saying? Oh yeah. Nino, I wasn't agreeing with you - "
We picked up from where we left off, ignoring Adrien. Of course we were only pretending to make Adrien seem invisible. After what he and Alya did to me, he had it coming.
It was fun teasing him. I see why he likes doing it a lot to me.
I watched him from the corner of my eye as he huffed and went to sit with Alya, at my usual seat.
"I should have sat with you years ago!" Nino said with a grin, putting his arm over my shoulder.
"So you do agree to sit with me?" I said with a giggle.
"What is this - marriage?" Nino asked, letting go of me. Both of us laughed really hard at his joke.
Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Adrien and Alya's gaze on us. It was dead obvious that they were both pissed off.
Marriage....hmm...
A light bulb appeared above my head.
"Hey! Let's make those two jealous! It's obvious that they are head over heels for us," I said, wiggling my eyebrows mischievously.

"No doubt. We are the most gorgeous people over the planet," Nino pretended to pick his fingernails, saying that as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "But I'm a tad more attractive than you,"
"Shut up. That's besides the point," I said, shoving him while frowning.
"You see? This is why you'll never be as beautiful as me," Nino shook his head. "Frowning will only give you wrinkles,"
"Shut up, Nino!" I shoved him harder. He laughed and for a quick fraction of a second, his eyes flickered to Alya and Adrien.
Then it hit me like a truck.
He was playing along with my plan. The sly devil.
"Aww, Marinette!" Nino ruffled my hair - an action that Adrien would do. I just hoped that he was watching us. We were sitting right in front of them.
Let's see...what would Alya whenever she was with Nino?
Of course!
"Nino, stop messing my hair," I said, making sure to giggle loud enough for the neighbours to hear.
At that moment, our teacher walked into class and internally I frowned. This was just getting interesting.
"Good morning class. Please get out your notebooks and write today's date. I'll write the notes on the board and then explain afterwards," The teacher popped off the lid of her whiteboard marker and began to write on the board.
I felt a poke on my upper arm.
I turned to look at where it came from. My eyes landed on Nino's cheeky smile.
"I bet you can't write faster than me," He sang, with his eyes dancing with amusement.
"I can!" I frowned.
"Cannot!"
"Can too!"
"Can you two please put a sock in it? Adrien and I are trying to concentrate on what the teacher is saying," Alya intervened.
Nino and I gave each other a knowing look, smirking before looking at Alya.
"But the teacher isn't saying anything. She's writing on the board as you can see," Nino gestured to the board, where sure enough, the teacher was scribbling notes on the board.
"What Alya is trying to say is that you two should be separated. You're making noise for everyone else. Marinette come and sit her with me. Alya will sit with Nino," Adrien said on a monotous deep voice.
By everyone else, he meant like 7 other people. But nonetheless, all I could say was mission accomplished.
Alya came and shooed me away from Nino. Nino and I sent winks to each other before I pouted coming to sit with Adrien.
"You're a meanie," I commented while opening my notebook to write notes.
"I'm not mean," Adrien rolled his eyes. "You two are just childish,"
True. True.
We argued like kids and we were about to race each other on who finished writing the notes first.
"Maybe, maybe...or you are just - what's the word?" I dramatically paused to think.
"I am not jealous!" Adrien huffed as he turned to look away from me to write the notes on the board.
I also started to jot down the notes on my notebook, with a smirk slowly growing on my face. "Who said anything about jealousy?"
"You did," Adrien replied.
"I didn't say anything. I was going to call you a downer,"
"Well, you were implying it. I am not a downer,"
"I don't know what you're talking about," I shrugged. "Prove that you're not a downer,"
"I will," Was the last thing he said to me in that class.
About half an hour later, we were through with our class and I was getting ready to go for my next class, when suddenly there was a loud crash that threw me back.
My back hit the wall of the class and I let out a groan. Beside me was Alya, also in pain.
Dust and dirt circled the air and I narrowed my eyes to see what was going on, while coughing. A feminine silhouette was drawing closer to us.
I still couldn't see who she was, but apparently Alya could. "Marinette, watch out!"
Instinctively, I struck my hands out to form an 'X' to shield me. Surprisingly, after a few seconds, I was unharmed.
I looked up to see a tail, flickering side to side and a metallic staff swinging round and round.
How is it that Chat Noir is always here for me?
"Run!" He ordered. Our eyes met for a moment, and I knew that I needed to transform. I just needed to find a place to transform.
"Come on, Marinette!" Alya grabbed my arm, before I could even process what was going on. We both began to run, but I foolishly looked over my shoulder to check if Chat Noir was alright.
I saw an orange jumpsuit.
On a fox.
With a flute in her hand.
Volpina!
I nearly forgot about her, yet it was only yesterday when I saw her. Her malicious eyes met mine and she threw a bolt at me.
I ripped my arm out of Alya's grip, pushed her aside, jumped, ducked and rolled, before continuing to run.
It narrowly missed me.
Alya's eyes were wide with alarm at what I just did, but I didn't focus on it.
I needed to get away from Alya.
"Alya! Where's Nino?" I asked, as I looked around for the goofball.
Alya stopped and her body tensed. Her eyes desperately scanned the perimeter for him. "He's not here!"
No kidding, Shylock.
"We have to make sure that he's alright. You go left and I'll go right, okay?" I said, already starting to sprint.
"Wait! Marinette!" I heard her voice call from behind me.
"Don't worry about me! I'll be fine!" I told her over my shoulder. I continued to sprint and hid behind the vending machine.
After making sure that Alya was gone, and that people weren't in the area, I unzipped my bag.
"Volpina is back, Tikki. We need to take her out, once and for all," I told my red kwami.
"Why was she specifically after you?" Tikki frowned. "She only threw shots at you. Nobody else,"
"I didn't notice that," I mumbled to myself. "I'm not sure. But we don't have the time to talk. Chat Noir may be in trouble right now,"
My red kwami nodded. "Just say the phrase,"
"Tikki, spots on!" I obliged. Tikki flew into my earrings turning them red with black polka dots. My fingers sweeped over my eyes until I felt my mask on my face. Stretching out my arms, I let my Ladybug suit take over from my Marinette outfit.
I felt my yo-yo go around my hips and an unusual feeling ran through my veins. It's been a while since I fought a baddie. Is it saddistic for me to say that I missed fighting bad guys?
It probably is.
I pushed the thought away from my mind and sprinted back to the class that Chat Noir and Volpina were in.
Tikki's comment kept on coming back to me. Why was she aiming at me only? Was it something that I did? Something I said?
I know that as Ladybug, she hated my guts - but why as Marinette?
Does she know my secret identity? She seems to be smart enough to figure it out.
No, she couldn't have. Paris doesn't know that I am Marinette and it's only Adrien who knows. Out of all the Parisians, she couldn't be the smartest of them all - was she?
No, she , my mind growled.
Then it must have been something that I had done as Marinette.
I haven't met Lila as Marinette - heck, I haven't even talked to her. So there's nothing that I could have done to her.
Volpina met my eyes and she growled. "Look at what the cat dragged in. My second least favourite enemy,"
"The cat is standing right here," Chat Noir raised an eyebrow. "Talk about being rude,"
"Volpina, I said I was sorry. Why won't you forgive me?" I asked, hoping that she would come to her senses.
"Because what you did to me was unforgivable," She turned to face Chat Noir. "You called me rude? She's ruder than I could ever be,"
"Ouch. I'm standing right here," I mumbled. "Just out of curiosity, who is your least favourite person?"
"Her name is Marinette Dupain-Cheng," She said in a bitter tone.
I tensed at the sound of my name but I pretended to be unaffected, as if that wasn't my name. "Why?"
"Because she stole my one true love from me," I noticed how her free hand which wasn't holding her flute had just turned into a fist.
"Me?" Chat Noir started to flex his muscles in front of her.
I rolled my eyes and Volpina looked disgusted.
"Ew, no," Volpina said. "A supermodel, by the name Adrien Agreste,"
This time it was Adrien's turn to tense up. He got over it though.
"But maybe she didn't mean to," I spoke up, diverting their attention to me.
"Impossible!" She threw a bolt at me which I successfully avoided, by hitting it with my yo-yo. "I saw her with him last night, in the Eiffel Tower,"
I gulped, nervously.
My eyes quickly flitted to Chat Noir's and I could see that he was looking at me with alarm.
We had been caught - not by the paparazzi, but by the crazy supervillain lady before us.
"She was in his arms and he looked happy. Genuinely happy," She spat bitterly. "They laughed and talked. Both of them looked perfect for each other,"
This is when Chat Noir discreetly gave me a wirk which I responded with a glare.
This was not the time for him to start playing games - at least, not when she was here.
He could expose us both.
"But they aren't perfect for each other. Adrien should be with me," She began to lift in the air, all charged up with negative energy.
"Somebody's jealous," Chat Noir commented, swinging his staff round and round.
Oh and you should be the one to speak, I mentally told him.
"I am not jealous!" She yelled throwing out her arms and legs. Her voice cut through the air like thunder and it sent electricity bolts all around the class room.
I see what she and Adrien had in common. Both cannot admit when either is jealous.
"She took him away from me. Brainwashed him with that innocent smile and childish act," She growled.
Chat Noir spared me a glance with a knowing smirk. I knew what he was trying to say.
He just called me childish today, and apparently, he wasn't the only one who thought so.
"That's why she's taken your place, Ladybug," Volpina sneered. "And you are defending her?!"
"No, what I mean is -" I tried to explain myself but she shot at me something from her flute which I deflected with my yo-yo.
