《Lady Noir (Ladybug x Chat Noir) - Book One》Chapter One: Adrien's hair reminds me of Goldilocks

The Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir.
.
Hawk Moth
Ladybug (Marinette) doesn't want to reveal her identity to Chat Noir. Chat Noir respects this so he, in return, doesn't reveal his identity to her.
Whenever Ladybug says "Lucky charm!", she gets something to help her defeat the villain but unfortunately, has a few minutes before she transforms back to Marinette.
Chat Noir can't be Chat Noir for a long time, too. There's a specific amount of time that he has before he transforms back to Adrian.
Goldilocks.
Adrien's hair reminded me of Goldilocks. She's that girl who ate the bear's porridge right?
His locks of blonde hair reminded me so much of her. My elbow was resting on the table and my cheek was on my palm.
I know that I should be paying attention to my Literature teacher but whenever I tried to focus on the poem that we were doing, I thought of Adrien.
Sue me.
He's sitting right in front of me so how can I not think about him?
I'll just borrow Alya's notes after the lesson. Speaking of my best friend, I felt something poke my arm.
I swear, I nearly jumped 20 feet into the air, into the clouds, where my mind was.
"What?" I whispered, keeping an eye on my teacher. Alya pointed to my teacher. I turned my attention to the teacher.
"You are going to be doing an assignment in groups," She announced. I mentally groaned. I hate doing group work. Well, unless I was with Adrien, then that would be a different story. Oh, and Alya, too. And Adrian's best friend.
"I'll be picking the groups, of course," She picked up a paper which was on her desk. The whole class groaned.
"Alya, Nino, Alix and Kim will be one group," She said. Alya's lips twitched to form a smile. "Adrien, Sabrina, Marinette and Chloé will be another group,"
My heart stopped. Did she just say that I'm in the same group as Adrien? I felt light and my lips formed a goofy, love-struck grin. Wait..Did she just say that I'm in the same group as Chloé?
My smile vanished.
Someone prodded my arm. I turned to see Alya giving me a cheeky grin. "You and Adrien are in the same group,"
"Well, so are Sabrina and Chloé," I sighed. Personally, I didn't mind Sabrina. She was nice and sweet. And sort of a kiss-up to Chloé. Chloé, on the other hand, was rude, snobby and down-right mean. I minded her.
Adrien turned to look at me with a small smile playing on his lips. "Looks like we are partners,"
"Yeah," I said, a bit too loudly. Me and my awkwardness. "We are. Yay!" I forced out a squeal.
"Adrien, darling!" Chloé attacked Adrien with a kiss and wrapped her hands around his neck. Adrien shuddered and pushed her away.
"I wish we were the only partners, though," I muttered under my breath. Sabrina was right beside me and sat at Nino's spot. Adrien came and sat at Alya's seat, right beside me and Chloé sat on Adrien's seat.
"So what are we doing?" I asked. I wasn't paying attention in class so I didn't know what we are doing.
"We are supposed to read a poem and analyse it. Then we make a group presentation about it," Sabrina answered me.
"Well, Sabrina, I'm sure you won't have any trouble doing it," Chloé turned to face Adrian. "So Adrien, do you have plans tonight?"

"Er, well, I'm supposed to go for a photo shoot again after school," Adrien rubbed the back of his neck. He wasn't looking at Chloé.
"Can I come?" She batted her eyelashes.
"I don't think that my father will allow me to bring anyone for my photo shoot," Adrien said.
"You can just beg him to let me come," Chloé insisted. I sighed again and this time, I rolled my eyes.
A yawn escaped my mouth and I knew that I had to find something else to do than listen to Chloé's pathetic attempts to woo Adrien.
I got up and walked over to Sabrina. I peered over her shoulder. "Are you okay? Do you need any help?" I asked with a soft smile.
Sabrina shut her book at once and a paper flew out. "Yes," She answered quickly. "I'm fine. Just fine,"
I got on one knee and picked the paper up. I gave it back to Sabrina. "Are you sure?"
"Positive," She nodded her head rapidly. I frowned a bit at Sabrina's strange behaviour. The wind coming from the window blew the paper on to Adrien's lap.
"What's this?" He asked and he examined the paper. His cheeks redenned as he read line by line. Chloë noticed this, too, and she snatched the paper and began to read it.
"Sabrina!" Chloé called very angrily. "Did I not make clear to you that Adrien has always been, and will always be mine?!"
I frowned. I turned to Adrien and lifted my eyebrows. His eyes flickered to the paper that Chloé was holding. I plucked it out of her fingers and read Sabrina's cursive handwriting.
As I read line by line, I realized that this was not any ordinary poem. It was love poem. To Adrien. It looks like I'm not the only person who would write a poem about him.
"It's not her fault if she likes Adrien," I jumped into Sabrina's defence for some reason.
"Stay out of this," Chloé snapped at me. She turned to Sabrina with a scowl on her face. "Don't you ever think about writing him another poem again," She snatched the paper from my hands and ripped it into sheds.
A tear slid down Sabrina's cheek just as the bell rang. Chloé sashayed out of the classroom. Adrien and I were still sitting down, wondering what to do about Sabrina. Adrien looked very uncomfortable, but I couldn't blame him.
"I'll stay with her," I told him in a soft voice. "You can go," I dismissed him as I stood up and moved towards Sabrina.
Adrien stared at me for a few seconds, then his eyes darted to the door, moved to poor Sabrina, and finally stayed glued on the floor. He stood up and nodded, with a small grateful smile, before leaving.
"Sabrina, I'm really sorry about Chloé. She shouldn't have acted that way," I gave her hug and rubbed her back. Strangely, Sabrina didn't respond to the kind gesture that I gave her.
"She shouldn't have acted that way," She repeated, but anger laced in her high-pitched voice. "I have the right to like whoever I want. And quite frankly, I don't like her,"
No one does, I agreed mentally.
Sabrina stormed out of the room without another word and a very bad feeling came over me. I ignored it and got my bag and books.
Tikki peaked out of my bag when I slung it over my shoulder. "I didn't know that Chloé could be that mean to poor Sabrina. And they are supposed to be best friends,"

I sighed for the umpteenth time today. "Well, they aren't exactly best friends. Chloé tells Sabrina what and what not to do. I wouldn't call that a friendship,"
I closed the zip to my bag and I headed out to go for lunch. Speaking of best friends, I wondered, where on earth is Alya?
I needed to tell her about Sabrina and her crush on Adrien. And how Chloé won't give Sabrina a shot with Adrien. It's sad, really.
I won't even talk about my shot with Adrien. I always have a chance to talk to Adrien, but when I open my mouth, I blow my big chance to get him to like me.
My awkwardness, along with shyness and clumsiness is going to make me single for the rest of my life. Chat Noir could be an option, but I can't see us being married, or anything like that. Adrien just suits the role more perfectly than Chat Noir does.
Screams were able to bring me out of my thoughts and back into reality. Instinctively, I take off towards the direction of the sound. I found myself at the dining hall, where everyone was taking off at different directions.
My eyes land on someone dressed in dark purple, floating in the air. Something seemed familiar. Then I saw it. Her hair. It was very similar to Sabrina's.
That's Sabrina!
She's been akuma-tised!
This was not good.
My eyes land on someone who is racing towards her. It's Chat Noir. I guess that's my cue to appear and save my fellow students and possibly, teachers and workers.
I ran and hid behind a pillar. After making sure that no one was watching, I unzip my bag. Tikki came flying out.
"Tikki, spots on!" I instructed her. Tikki turned into my red earrings with black spots on them. I brought my fingers near my eyes and a red mask with 5 black dots on it appear. My regular "Marinette outfit" is replaced by my "Ladybug outfit", which is red with black spots like a lady bag. My yo-yo is wrapped around my waist.
I emerged from the pillar and race towards akuma-tised Sabrina. She seemed to be after Chloé which doesn't come off as a surprise to me.
Chat Noir was in front of Chloé, holding out his arms, trying to shield her from Sabrina. Sabrina chanted something inaudible to me. She held out her hand and a black ball of fire appeared and she got ready to hit Chloé.
I removed my yo-yo and threw it to her hand to pull her back from launching it at Sabrina.
"Bug-a-boo," Chat Noir cooed, with his signature smirk on his face. "I missed you. Where have you been?"
"No time to explain Chat Noir," I retrieved my yo-yo. "And it's no time for flirting either,"
"It's never time for flirting," He mumbled, removing his stick.
"Oh," I teased. "Don't be like that. We'll go out for ice cream after this,"
"Really?" His eyes lit up and his tail moved left and right.
"Enough," Sabrina silenced us both. "You two make me sick," She threw two black balls our way, but I did a few of backflips to dodge them.
"Listen, Love Monster," Chat Noir started. "I don't feel like losing any of my nine lives, okay? Only if it has anything to do with milady," He sent me a wink, and I rolled my eyes.
"It's Love Crusher," She corrected very angrily. She got out a pen and a piece of paper. "And since you said that you would lose a life if Ladybug is involved," She began to scribble down while reciting: "Roses are red. Violets are blue. 20 evil Ladybugs shall now attack you,"
The paper she was writing on floated in the air, turned purple and vanished, with a bright purple flash. Suddenly, 20 people wearing the exact same costume as me, looking exactly like me filled the room.
They all glared at Chat Noir. Chat Noir looked like he was going to faint. "I think I've died and I'm in Ladybug heaven,"
"Correction," One of my lookalikes corrected him. "You are going to die and this is Ladybug hell,"
Chloé was about to sneak out of the door when Sabrina hit her with a few black power balls. Chloé's back was flung on the wall. "I will make your life a living nightmare," She snarled at groaning Chloé.
"Ladybug," Chloé called out to us. "Chat Noir. Help!" Chloé was grabbed and Sabrina made a huge hole in the wall, and that's how she left the building.
Before we can save Chloé, we need to save ourselves, from me. The multiples versions of myself.
Chat Noir groaned. "I don't feel like fighting you. Unless if it's the kind of fight that I have in mind,"
"Just...pretend it's someone you hate!" I suggested, sending a kick to a Ladybug lookalike who was coming to attack me from my left.
I jumped up and kicked my legs, knocking out two others. Chat Noir used his metal staff to bash some of them.
"Sorry," He said, after kicking one lookalike in the groin. "It's not you. It's me. Who am I kidding? It's you!"
No matter how much we tried, the Ladybug's seemed to be multiplying. I frowned, trying to think of a plan.
"Any ideas, my lady?" Chat Noir appeared by my side, swinging his staff.
"Yeah," I answered. "Lucky charm!" I yelled and threw my yo-yo into the air. A wave of colours blinded my view and a water gun appeared in my arms.
"A water gun? What on earth am I supposed to do with a water gun?" I asked, to no one in particular.
"Great. We are about to be mauled by Ladybugs but at least we can have fun in the sun," Chat Noir said, sarcastically. Normally, I would roll my eyes at his sarcasm, but something was generating in my mind.
Sun.
Fun.
That reminds me of the beach...
I got it!
"That's it!" I declared out loud. "You are a genius," I told Chat Noir before sprinting through the Ladybug's to get to where Sabrina was. "Follow me!"
"I always knew that I was a genius," Chat Noir said beside me. "It sort of runs in the family,"
"Family? You have a younger or older sibling?" I asked.
"No. I'm the only child. That means that I get everything I want," Chat Noir replied, cockily.
This time, I didn't hesitate to roll my eyes. "I'm an only child, too,"
Chat Noir gasped. "Really? I guess then we have something in common!"
Sabrina had chained Chloé to the wall, near the Eiffel Tour and she was saying something, but I couldn't hear her. She was reading from her book. That's where the akuma must be.
"The akuma is in her book," I informed Chat Noir. "I have a plan,"
"Don't worry. I'll protect you, as usual," He said, with a hint of playfulness. Again, I rolled my eyes. Chat Noir can never take anything seriously.
If only he was Adrien...oh my goodness! Adrien! I hope he's okay.
Snap out of it, Ladybug! You need to focus on Sabrina first.
And if there's anyone that I should be worried about, it should be Alya.
"Hey Love Monster!" Chat Noir was on the roof of the house. Sabrina's head turned to him. "You can't catch me if you tried. I'm as fast as a cheetah. It sort of runs in my blood. I am a cat after all,"
Sabrina made a guttural noise, which came from her throat. Chat Noir took off on all his fours. Sabrina followed. I took this chance and freed Chloé.
"It's about time," She said, with some attitude and I sighed.
The other Ladybugs were catching up to us and I knew that I needed to get rid of them. And fast. I took off and ran on the walls, trying to catch up to the cat-and-mouse game that Sabrina and Chat Noir were playing.
"Cataclysm," Chat Noir yelled. He then touched a nearby giant billboard, advertising about the latest phone. With a loud groan, it fell. It knocked Sabrina down.
For a second, I thought that she was done for, but I heard a loud scream and she blasted her way out of the billboard. She seemed more furious than before.
I aimed the water gun at Sabrina's notebook and pulled the trigger. The water gun was sufficient - it shot so much water at Sabrina, that it knocked her down to the tarmac road.
Chat Noir ripped her notebook into half and the akuma flew out.
"No more evil doing for you, little akuma," I opened my yo-yo. I swung it round a couple of times. "Time to de-evilize!" I threw my yo-yo and caught the black and purple akuma, which was trying to escape. The yo-yo closed immediately. "Gotcha!"
I yanked the yo-yo back and pulled it back to me. I tapped the yo-yo and it opened. A white butterfly flew it. "Bye, bye, little butterfly," I waved at it goodbye.
"Miraculous Ladybug!" I announced and threw the water gun into the air. It disappeared and a wave of light swept over Paris, removing any damage caused.
Sabrina was on the ground, and her evil costume disappeared and her regular outfit was restored. "What am I doing here?" She asked a very angry Chloé.
"Pound it," Chat Noir and I said, simultaneously, while fist bumping.
"Why can't you tell me who you are love-bug?" He asked, when I turned my back to him, ready to leave and go back to school.
"Because it has to be that way," I said. "But don't worry. I'm serious on the ice cream date,"
"Date, huh?" I turned to see Chat Noir's smirk. "I thought the boy asks the girl out,"
"This is the twenty-first century," I threw my yo-yo in the air and I held the string. "Goodbye, kitty," I ran forward and swung my body, making my getaway.
"Meet me at 6 pm!" I heard him yell. For some reason, I smiled.

After transforming, I ran back to class. I tried to think of an excuse to give, just in case I was asked about it.
My body collided with another's and I found myself groaning on the floor.
"Marinette?" I heard a familiar voice say. "Marinette, I'm sorry," Adrien gave me a hand.
I took it gratefully. "No. It's my fault. I should have been looking at where I was going," I smiled broadly for some reason and rubbed my neck. It was those darn butterflies in my stomach.
Huh. Butterflies.
Curse my shyness!
I just hoped that Tikki was okay. I rubbed my hands on my trousers with my free hand. That's when I noticed that Adrien was still holding my other hand.
I mentally fainted.
Alya would be recording this moment in history with her smartphone.
"I'm also sorry about, you know, Sabrina. I didn't know how to react," Adrien rubbed his neck with his free hand. He looked at our hands and after a moment, he let go of my hand.
"It's okay. I'm sorry that I couldn't be able to work on the poem," I apologized. "I had something to do,"
I had to fly in and save the day. You know. The usual, I added mentally.
"I had something to do, too," Adrien motioned for both of us to start walking and I walked by his side. "I hope Chloé and Sabrina did something for our class assignment,"
"More like Sabrina doing all the work," I corrected him quietly, but when he chuckled, I knew that he heard me.
