《Where's Ladybug》m'lady, wait!

Chat was starting to get nervous. He was staring at Ladybug, who he had just confessed his feelings for officially. She had said she loved him earlier, but was that just a spur of the moment?
"Cat Noir, I love you too. But I'm not ready for anything yet, you see, I-, it's just too soon." Chat didn't know what to think.
"It's the other boy isn't it, do you still really love him?" Chat said sweetly.
"I still love him, but I don't have a foolish crush on him anymore. It's more that I forgot what it feels like to not have feelings for him, so I'm not used to it yet. I think it's best that I get used to it before I move on with someone else."
"I understand. Don't feel pressured to move on too fast, I'm not in a rush. But I'll always be waiting for you bugaboo." Chat said, and then winked and left. Chat was feeling anxious. The person that was in between him and Marinette was himself. If only she knew my identity. She'll like me right away if she knows I'm Adrien. No, I am my true self as Cat Noir, and I'm sure she'll like me that way. It's worth the wait. Isn't it? Chat's mind kept putting thought after thought into his head, and he was becoming indecisive about what to do. I'll just wait, that's what's best for me, that's all I've been doing anyways. And right now I'm closer than ever.
As Cat Noir got closer to his home, he started thinking about the biggest issue, which was that he had been out all night with no explanation. Hopefully his father didn't notice, but if he did Adrien couldn't even imagine the consequences. Chat decided to go through his window to play it off as that he was in his room the whole time. "Ok, deep breathe in, deep breathe out." Chat said to himself. Staring at his window from outside the gate, Chat looked around to make sure no one was watching, and counted down. "3,2,1!" Chat catapulted himself through the air and as he got closer to the small glass opening, and saw two figures standing there, and as he got closer, he saw it was Gabriel and Natalie! Oh no, oh no, I have to go back! My identity will be revealed if they see me. Chat thought fast and knew there was one thing he could do as he flew through the air; "Plagg, claws in!" Adrien tumbled into his room, with his father and Natalie turning around with looks of anger and confusion.
"What is going on Adrien, where did you come from." Natalie said in a harsher tone then usual. "We have been looking for you all morning."

"Oh.. I... I went on a morning jog! And I was feeling a bit down and I saw an akuma coming towards me! I yelled and ran, but luckily Ladybug was there to capture it. Then she dropped me off at home and I told her to just throw me through the window!" Then it hit him. He forgot about one crucial part of his story. His father would know whether or not he had released and akuma that morning, but there was no akuma that morning. His father would see right through his lie, even if he couldn't say anything about it without revealing his identity as Hawkmoth. Gabriel and Natalie looked at each other suspiciously and walked out of his room and closed the door behind them, and Adrien heard them starting to talk quietly. Adrien tip-toed to the door to try and listen.
"Yes, something must be going on, you never released an akuma this morning, did you?" Natalie said to Gabriel behind the door.
"It could've been a lost akuma, one ladybug forgot to capture awhile ago." Gabriel replied back. "What else would've explained him flying through the window like that, only a miraculous holder could be responsible!"
"You may want to consider that Adrien and Ladybug could be seeing each other. I've seen them on TV together and they've always seemed pretty close."
"Adrien is seeing Kagami. Or at least that's what he told me, it could've been an excuse. It's hard to keep up with all of his excuses these days. I can't sort them out from what's real and what's fake."
"Well we know it was most likely either Ladybug or Cat Noir that sent him flying through that window, we just don't know why. The truth will come out soon, and he will run out of excuses."
"For now it's just best to lay low, I can't risk him knowing who I am." Gabriel said and started walking away then back again to Adrien's room. Adrien froze as Gabriel swung open the door, banging into his head.
"Oh, hey hawk-dad! I'm just going to get some w-wa-water. Yeah. I'm going to get some water." Adrien said with a fake smile, which quickly diminished as his father looked him deep into his eyes, with a look that convinced Adrien that he knew all of his secrets.
"Give me your phone. You haven't been focused lately on your academics or piano. I will delete all of your distractions." Adrien nervously handed his father his phone, and walked to his side to see what he would delete. First was his games, obviously, than one of his messaging apps, the others were hidden, and then he went to his camera roll. Oh no, his father would learn about his secret crush on Ladybug! As his father opened his camera roll Adrien's heart dropped and he started sweating in fear of how is father would react to the collection of Ladybug's photos. Adrien watched his father scroll through the seemingly endless display of photos of his love, with some more recent photos of Marinette. OH NO, WHAT IF HE FIGURES OUT THAT I KNOW LADYBUG'S IDENTITY, BECAUSE I'M CAT NOIR! Adrien's heart was racing. This was really bad.

"What happened with Kagami?" Adrien's father asked in a serious tone.
"It uh," Adrien said, looking back down at his phone in his father's hands; "didn't work out."
"Well you have Chinese at 4:30 after school and a fencing tournament at 6. I expect you to be home to practice piano tonight. Also, start getting packed. We are leaving this Saturday for London." Gabriel turned around to walk away.
"Wait father, are we ever going to move back to Paris?" Adrien said somberly.
"Yes, once Lady-" Gabriel almost exposed himself, and fake coughed to cover it up. "Excuse me, once my designs are ready for the fashion week. But that will be in a long time, Adrien."
"Ok father, thanks for your time." Adrien knew his father wasn't actually in the conversation, he wouldn't have almost exposed himself like that if he was. His mind was always elsewhere when talking to his son. Adrien just wished his father cared about what he had to say. However he was relieved as now his father thought he was in a relationship with Ladybug, which was a lot better than if he thought he was Cat Noir.
Although so much had happened today, and all Adrien wanted to do was sleep, he knew that if he wanted his father to believe that he hadn't been awake all night, he had to go to school. Adrien had a plan today at school that when Adrien saw Marinette he would do everything he could to make her get over him, like not making eye contact and not being flirtatious like he had been last time, as now he was trying to make her fall for Cat Noir. However, he would probably be sleeping during class so that wouldn't be too difficult. Once Adrien was dropped off at school right before the bell rang, he saw Marinette going up the stairs right in front of him. He was so tempted to say, oh hey Marinette! I know you probably want to reject me because you're getting over me or something, but I am also the person that you are trying to get over me for, so M'lady, wanna get married? But, if he were to say any of that, even just hey Marinette, it could get in the way of her being able to get over him, and then it would be even longer until she would want to be with him as Cat Noir, so he held himself back from talking to her.
When Adrien walked into the courtyard he watched Marinette walk to Ayla while he walked to Nino. Even her walk is perfect. Class had started and the four of them walked together up the stairs, and Ayla and Nino were talking but Marinette and Adrien were silent. For a moment Adrien's hand brushed against Marinette's as they walked side by side, and he knew that she saw his cheeks turn bright red as he quickly pulled his hand back and looked the other direction. Once they got to the classroom, Adrien heard Marinette's voice call out to him from behind.
"Adrien, can I talk to you?" Marinette said. Those 6 words she said caused butterflies to start swarming in his stomach and his heart to start beating so loudly it seemed like everyone in the room could hear it.
"Yea-yeah, Ma-Marinette, what is it?" Adrien was shocked. Usually he was confident with his words but he found himself stuttering at the sight of Marinette, just like what she used to do with him. He stepped a little closer to close them off from everyone else, as it seemed like Marinette intended for this to be a private conversation.
"I don't know if you know this or not, I bet you do because-" As Marinette was speaking their eyes locked like Adrien's always do with Marinette, whether he's Adrien or Cat Noir. The feeling of his eyes locking with Marinette's was like no other, and just by looking her in the eyes he felt safe and loved, but something was different about it this time, and it felt a lot more emotional than all the other majestic eye contacts between them. Marinette continued after a pause, "I-I li-liked you Adrien, for awhile, and I am so sorry for the way I acted when I did. I embarrassed myself and probably embarrassed you too. I'm so sorry." As Marinette finished her sentence a tear trickled down her face, and then she hugged Adrien tighter than she had ever hugged him before. Suddenly he knew why this hug hurt him so bad, it was because it was her way of finally saying goodbye. Adrien couldn't help but cry too. After a few seconds of hugging Adrien, Marinette turned around and ran the other way. Without thinking, Adrien sprinted after her.
"M'lady, wait!" Adrien yelled to Marinette. She heard and turned around.

The Stormcrow Cycle
Once a powerful and lauded witch, Ba'an salu-Ba'an now lives alone in a cave in the desert, waiting to die. When she rescues an outlander from certain death she becomes embroiled in a deadly game of politics and empire, of heart and soul, but worst of all--of hope and love and a chance at a peaceful future. Can a disgraced witch find a reason to live her life again--and if so, what price must she pay? The Stormcrow Cycle is a trilogy comprising of The Exile, The Lion, and Abomination. Tags or genres for each book: The Exile: romance, slice-of-life The Lion: romance, slice-of-life, politics Abomination: tragedy, high/epic fantasy (aka "Everything is on fire!") Updates once a week whenever I have time. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Scribble Hub. The CBMokedi cover will return! Excerpt: She looked down at him again. Young. Healthy, from what she could see, except for the wound that was killing him. He was handsome in a way that suggested a life of wealth and plenty. She did not think he had ever starved. Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!

RANK
Alpha of the Darks, Vince, imprints on Nya but keeps it a secret.ExcerptVince was resting in bed running the day's events through his mind when his heightened sense of hearing was alerted to the sound of ruffling sheets. Little feet hit the ground telling him it was a female and the odd placement of footsteps lets him know it wasn't Malina. He rises and when he widens his bedroom door Nya's scent flooded through his nostrils. He clears his throat instinctively and follows the smell into the hall. There he finds her coming straight towards him. He was surprised she was up this soon. She should have been out until the morning at least. Her foot was healed and her clothes were changed from earlier. She was now wearing a fitted cotton t-shirt, soft plaid shorts, and her hair was tied up in a messy bun. "What are you doing?" He folds his arms and angles his brows. She keeps her same pace beelined to him.Never, has he ever had the thought of taking a step back when being approached; until now that is. He hesitated. He firmly refused to let anything make him back down. This was his house, his rules, and she had no power over him. His focus inadvertently fell to her breast that lacked cover from a bra, and then to her smooth thighs, and like he has absolutely no control, to her toned calves. She was a foot away when the moon's glow from the skylight illuminated her face. His heart skipped a beat. It had never done that before. Then his train of thought went right off the tracks. He didn't realize how thick her lashes were, or how perfectly red her lips were stained. Where earlier she was pale, she now had a flushed pink color. The darkness from under her eyes was gone and her cheeks were slightly fuller too.He blinks away his unwanted thoughts when she stops inches from him. With a neutral gaze, an expressionless expression almost, she makes a sudden turn and goes around him. "What the f**k?" She was sleepwalking he registered.
