(A/N: so, uh... yep. My sister and I came back last Saturday from her business trip. Ah.. so tiring~~~ anyways, happy Monday and happy sembreak for those who have their sembreak starting today! 😊)
For the past days, Lan Qiren settled to temporarily live in a remote town, far but not really too far from the GusuLan sect. At least, in this place the number people who knew him can be counted on one hand. He's living peacefully here. From time to time he helped the people having problems with their sleep, their animals being possessed, etc. There's also no news from his sect and so he relaxed himself. As for that evil presence he felt recently...
Lan Qiren's face went dark as he silently swept his gaze around the small house. He's living peacefully... if you won't count this ghost that's been following him. What does it want? He thought, starting to get annoyed as he looked at the dark shade on the wall. The ghost is silently watching him.
The first three days since he silently left the sect have been peaceful. The strange thing started to happen again the fourth day during he fish in the river.
He sighed when he saw the fishes didn't take the bait on his fishing rod. He could use his power to fish, but since he's incognito and chose to live ordinarily, and using his power will just tire him, he decided to be idle as he wait for the fish to bit the bait.
After a while as he was about to close his eyes because he suddenly became sleepy, he felt the temperature of the surrounding drop. At the same time, he felt the rod in his hand jerked. His eyes shut open and he saw a shadow looming over between him and the river. The shadow is 'bending over' the room while floating above it.

Seconds after he saw the fishes flew over and into his bucket. Lan Qiren's face darkened. "You - !" he said and was about to grab the shadow when the shadow, 'startled', floated away from him.
His eyes went wide. He stood up. He reached out to the shadow. "Ah -" he said when he felt his body weighed over to the front. He lost his balance.
Splash! (A/N: make us free the splash kasareta~~~)
Lan Qiren's face darkened as he looked at the shadow. That day was the first he felt embarrassed. And in front of a ghost!
Yes. He fell on the river foolishly. The shadow immediately hovered and dived down the river. Then, Lan Qiren felt a hand wrapped around his waist and the back of his knees. He was lifted, and then put down on the river bank. It was the shadow.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to - " it said.
However, Lan Qiren's head was muddled because of water. If not, then he could've heard the voice and know -
He's achingly familiar of the voice.
A/N: I'm back on track! 😊 one more chapter to go before the main story ends, and then the extras~~~

Life of a Core
After a disembodied voice had told him he was what amounted to an exceptionally talented rock, it had been hard to not let it go to his non-existent head. Until, random chance had decided to give him a square kick in the minerals. Which had in turn forced him to fend for himself in an unknown land, all while he attempted to make sense of his place in the world. Truthfully though, all he had really wanted to do from the start had been to bury himself a hundred feet below the ground and be left to his own devices. Yet, for one reason or another, nobody ever seemed willing to leave the dungeon-building core alone long enough to actually make one. Each chapter will average around two to three thousand words, the release schedule is still a WIP but you should expect the first six chapters to be released over the next six days. This is planned out as a dungeon building fiction, but don't expect it right off the bat! The story is a depiction of the everyday adventures (alongside an overarching plot) of what I imagine a dungeon core would experience when thrust into a random environment where everything and everyone tried to covet or eat him. I also really enjoy reading the comments and reviews people leave and would love to get some reader involvement with the story itself, likely through polls at the end of each chapter. I hope you enjoy my story! (If you feel like some of the characters seem familiar, you may have read some older work I wrote a while back under a different account. If you happen to be one of my old readers and recognize the similarities, I'm happy to have you back!)
