once again ;

Soft sniffles were what pulled her to the corner of the room. There sat a boy, head buried in his arms. His body was curled up, hands hugging his knees. His muffled sobs echoed in that area only. It was dark since it was a spot where the sun doesn't shine to.

Taking soft steps to not startle him, the little girl bent down onto her knees, head tilting to the side as she watched him. Hesitantly, she reached a hand out, poking the arm of the crying boy. Instantly, the sobs and cries fade away and the boy struggles to wipe his tears as he looked up.

Her lips parted as her eyes raked over his features. He was by far the cutest baby she's met in this childcare. "Why are you crying?" she frowns, taking a step closer towards him. "T-They said that I looked u-ugly. T-They told me that m-my cheeks were t-too chubby,"

He sniffs, voice cracking as he lifted his sleeve to wipe a tear. "I think they look cute," she giggles, placing her small hands on his round, marshmallow cheeks. "You're cute," she smiles, lips curving upwards. However, the boy pushes her away from him, brows furrowed.

"D-Don't lie. Lying is bad f-for your health. Lyin-"

"I'm not lying. Do you want to be friends?" she cuts him off, inching her fingers to wipe his tear-stained cheeks. He sniffles, head snapping to the side, refusing to make eye contact with her. He didn't believe her. "Wait here," she whispers, patting his head lightly as she ran to the other kids, picking up her toys.

With a grin, she ran back to the boy. He should be willing to play with her now. Holding out the handmade doll and the toy car, she waited for him to pay attention to her.

"Why won't you pay attention to me?" she whines, pouting at the boy. "You're a liar."

"I am not!"

"Yes, you are!"

"No!"

"Yes!"

Letting out a harsh puff, she folds her arms and turned away. All she wanted to do was to befriend him since he looked lonely. What was wrong with that? A pout formed on her quivering lips. Why did he think she'd lie?

A sniffle escapes her lips before she could hold back, grabbing the attention of the young boy. Eyes widening, he crawls his way over, back hugging the little girl. His arms wrap around her torso, chin pressed onto her shoulders. With his cheeks squashed against hers, he opens his mouth. "I'm sorry," he mumbles, voice tiny and babyish. "Let's be friends, okay?"

Instantly, her eyes lit up and she pulls the little boy into a hug. "Okay! Do you want to meet my other friends?" she squeals, hands balled up into fists. Smiling at her cuteness, the boy pushes the strands of hair covering her face behind her ears. He didn't even get to nod before she wraps her fingers around his wrist, pulling him up.

Excitedly, the child ran towards the six other boys whom she's made friends with over the past one week they had been there. One of them was her brother, while the rest were cheerful, bubbly kids.

"Oppa! Look! I found the kid! He said we could be friends," she giggles, holding up their entwined hands like it was a trophy. The boy's cheeks heated up as he watched the six other boys eye him cautiously. One of them drops his toys and walked towards him, eyes narrowing. For a moment, the boy thought he was about to die.

All of a sudden, he envelops him into a hug with a soft, deep laugh. "Nice to meet you! Please treat our princess well!" and with a shake of the hand, the boy disappears. The rest of them continues to play with their toys, except for two other little boys.

"W-who are they?" the little boy pointed at the two others that were obediently sitting in front of him and the girl, heads tilted to the same side. Her hand slips out of his grip, causing him to frown. She runs up to one of them, squeezing their cheeks lovingly.

A tinge of jealousy runs in the boy's veins. "This is Kook, and this is Tae! That one's Joon, the other is Hobi, the sleeping one is Yoonie! And the last one is Jin, my brother!" the girl gave him a short introduction, allowing him to absorb the new information. "Welcome to our friend group," she smiles.

He liked her smile. It was a sweet, lovely one. It was one that warmed his torn heart.

"What's your name?"

The two ask the question at the same time, causing them both to erupt in fits of giggles. "Shall we say it at the same time?" the boy suggests, sitting opposite of the girl. She nods, waiting for him to countdown.

As the timer goes down, they speak.

"Park Jimin."

"Kim y/n."
