jin's past ;
[flashback]
── 27 March 2017
Time : 7.00pm
"Jungkook! I'm going out!" I hollered, glancing behind my shoulders. Jungkook was in his room, busy typing away on the computer. As expected from a teenager, he loved to play computer games.
I had to meet up with Hyo Jin, my younger brother. A few minutes earlier, he had called me, claiming that it was an emergency. Hyo Jin and I weren't on good terms. Our father was on his deathbed and all the latter could think about was the fortune he would inherit.
Sighing, I locked the doors and trudged down the hallway. I was sleep-deprived, worried. What was going to happen when Father passes on? What was going to happen to Hyo Jin's child? Yun min, Hyo Jin's wife, had passed on years ago while trying to give birth to Min Min. Although I've never met the baby, I've seen a few pictures of her.
From what I've heard, Hyo Jin loved his child dearly. No matter how busy he was, he'd always have time for her. Min Min was his weakness. The key to stopping the male. The week before, I had returned to the office to pass up a file that had been stuffed in between other papers in my study. On the way to Father's desk, I had passed Hyo Jin.
He was talking to his secretary, muffled words were thrown back and forth. It didn't have anything to do with me, neither did I care about what was going on. But the mention of Father caused my legs to anchor onto the floor, stopping me from moving.
They were in the lounge, the farthest room from the others. It was a room in the corner, nearest to Father's. The hallway stretched forward, dark shadows flickering past my eyes. There must've been employees walking about in the other building. The buildings of this company were connected by bridges, allowing employees from other buildings to cross over any time.
The surroundings were dead silent, allowing eavesdropping to be easier. "What are you going to do, Mr. Kim? I heard from Boss' lawyer that he's deciding to give up the spot to his eldest son."
Hyo Jin snickers, rolling his eyes as he stirred his coffee. "I'll convince the lawyer to change the will. Seokjin will not have that spot," he replies, a nasty smirk forming on his face. "What are you going to do with it?" the secretary questions, hands pulling the collar of his shirt, straightening it.
"Ruin lives. Remember the people who've insulted me? Mocked me? Compared me to that shithead brother of mine? I will ruin their lives." Hyo Jin answers, lifting the cup to his lips, taking a sip. Exhaling loudly, he signals the secretary to follow him. I moved, shifting towards the walls. I hid between the walls, waiting for him to pass.
I couldn't let him do it. Countless of people have insulted him various times. If he were to use the power for that, the company would crumble. Walking towards Father's door, I left the file there and left.

I parked the car and walked into the building. Hyo Jin said to meet him in room 1994, the year I was born in. The building was abandoned, the walls reeked of mud, paint peeling from them. Scrunching my nose, I squinted ahead. The smell was unbearable.

The hallways were narrow, and the wooden staircases had nails and pins sticking out. With each step, the stairs creaked and groaned. Finally, I made my way to the room. Unlike other rooms, the door was in good condition. It was working and was closed shut. Other doors had holes in them, half-broken, and were unable to close.
Gulping, I knocked on the door thrice before entering. The sight before my eyes appalled me. A familiar girl sat in the center of the room, barbie dolls in her hands. She had a small face, a cute nose, and large eyes. A wide smile played on her lips. She had long, black hair that reached her shoulders, and bangs that covered her forehead.
Where had I seen her before?
Then it hit me - Hyo Jin's child. What was his child doing here, in an abandoned building, with no adult supervision? "You have to hold her hostage." A voice spoke up from behind, causing me to flinch. A lady.
A lady in a bright red dress, red lipstick, red earrings, and a red amulet was brightly shining on her neck. Clearing my throat, I looked back at the little girl, then at this lady. "Who are you? Why must I listen to you? Where is Hyo Jin?" I stood firm, refusing to show any signs of weakness.
"You don't have to know who I am, Jin. Take this girl, hold her hostage. That's all you need to do. And I will handle the rest." her red heels clacked on the surface of the floor, the noise echoing in the room. She took a few steps towards me, red-painted nails dragging across the skin of my face.
"We will meet again, my darling. For now, take the girl. If you don't, someone else will. And I can't promise that someone is a nice person. For doing this, you will suffer. But it will be over soon, someone will help you, someone will save you. When you reach home, tell Jungkook to erase all traces of you heading out. Hyo Jin's overseas, if you're wondering. I was the one who called. See you soon, my love." the lady whispers into my ear, before vanishing into thin air.
I'll have to suffer? Someone would save me? What was this lunatic talking about? Looking back at the playing girl, I bit my lip. Shall I bring her home? How did the lady know Jungkook?
Questions ran past my mind like wildfire spreading in forests. Who was that mysterious lady? Cursing under my breath, I took a step towards the little baby, plastering a smile on my face.

"Missing child, last seen on 27 March. This child belongs to Mr. Kim, the successor of-"
Jungkook turns off the television, sighing loudly as he plopped onto the sofa. "Kookie oppar!" a small figure jumps onto his thighs, hopping towards his chest. Groaning at the sudden impact, he lifted himself off the couch. "Hey princess, what are you doing?"
He brushes the little girl's bangs to the side, staring at her huge, starry eyes. "I wanna play hide and seek, will you do that with me?" she asked, eyes wider than ever. Using those puppy eyes of hers, she tried to persuade the exhausted boy. "Why don't you ask Jin? If he doesn't want to, I'll play with you."

And with that, the girl hopped off his thighs, squeaking out a soft okay before running into the kitchen.
Closing his eyes, Jungkook laid back onto the couch. His mind brings him back to the time Jin had almost discovered his true identity. Jin had come back home with a little girl, instructing Jungkook to remove all traces of him ever leaving.
Jungkook was confused, terrified even. But all Jin said was, "Some mad lady told me to tell you that. She said something about suffering, you erasing me, and stuff about how we'll meet again, I don't know! Just do something for god's sake!" Jin grunts, rolling his eyes as he walked into his room, leaving Jungkook and the girl alone, together.
Jungkook did as Jin said, erasing all traces of the male. After that day, no one talked about anything related to the mad lady or Jin bringing a mysterious child home. Like always, Jungkook would eat and crawl back into his game hole. However, Min Min managed to make her way into the room, bonding with the male.
As the days passed by, Jungkook linked them up. Jin must've taken the girl away from whoever her parents were. However, Jungkook knew Jin must've had a valid reason. He was nice and genuine. There was no way Jin could've kidnapped a girl for no whatsoever reason.
"What's with all the sighs?" Jin walks into the living room with Min Min on his shoulders. The little girl was giggling, hands buried deep in Jin's brown hair. "Nothing, I was just-"
Three loud knocks cut Jungkook off. Jin and Jungkook shared a look, nervousness rising within them. Jin puts the child down, pressing his index to his lips. Grinning, the child imitated the elder, nodding playfully. Jin signaled the latter over, whispering, "Take the child and hide. Do not come out no matter what."
Nodding, Jungkook picked up the smiling child, hurrying over to his bedroom. Min Min takes ahold of his pinky, fiddling around with it. She puts it into her mouth, before wiping it onto his shirt. Then, she started pulling each and every one of Jungkook's fingers. However, that wasn't part of his concerns. He had his back squeezed against the closed doors, ears pressed against the wooden door.
Muffled words were being exchanged. A few words were clear, but Jungkook couldn't link them together. A word caught his attention - police. The police were here. "No... child... suspected... hacker..." Jungkook's eyes widened, mouth gaping apart.
Hacker? Had he been exposed?
But his security was tight, and no one could hack through it. No one could've known that he was here. Unless... something gave him away. The CCTV's that he had viewed. It would've been in the police's database. If they viewed the database, they would've known that Jungkook was looking at the CCTV's near his neighbourhood.
The little girl lets out a cough, face pressing into Jungkook's shirt. Gulping, Jungkook pats her back lightly. He could no longer hear what was going on. A few shouts were being thrown here and there, and he heard the clicking of cuffs. Was Jin caught? They didn't have enough evidence. What was Jungkook going to do without Jin?
The next words confirmed his suspicions. "JUNGKOOK! RUN!" Jin's high pitched voice reverberated down the hallway, reaching Jungkook's trembling body. He pushes open the window, getting ready to jump, with the girl secured around him. Min Min had her hands wrapped around his torso, face buried in his chest. Before he could jump, the echo of a gunshot reached his ears.
-
"What happened then? Who's the lady? Is she like a counter lady? What happened to Min-"
Jimin coughs, raising an eyebrow at you. Looking away, you shut your mouth, cheeks boiling in embarrassment. Halfway through the story, Jimin had snapped out of his gaze, ears perked up at the mention of Jungkook's parents.
"I don't know who that lady is, but I'm guessing our saviour is you, y/n. Min Min was okay. The gunshot Jungkook heard was the bullet that killed me. Jungkook got caught before he could leave, but I don't know what his tiny, stupid brain was thinking. The next minute, I had arrived in hell, with Jungkook next to me." Jin frowns, shooting Jungkook a glare.
The latter smiles sheepishly, fiddling with his fingers. "I don't think I'd know how to live without Jin, so I jumped out of the window," he explains. "What about Hyo Jin?" Jimin asked. "Yeah, I've heard the story multiple times, but you never talked about Hyo Jin ever again." Hoseok continues.
"I'm not too sure, but during the days we could go out, I heard that he had been caught smuggling goods overseas. Min Min is now in an orphanage, but she's happy. I think that was why the lady approached me - to stop Hyo Jin from hurting anyone. Hyo Jin only got caught because he had heard about the news of his daughter being kidnapped. He was in a rush to get back, he forgot that he had goods in his case." Jin answers, eyes glazed over, a sad smile placed on his lips. So Jin suffered for something he was forced to do.
Jungkook pats the male's knees, exhaling softly. Tilting my head, I looked at the male who has been silent for a while now.
"What about you, Jimin? Do you mind sharing?"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
do you think Jimin would share anything? so, we've now learned about Jin and Jungkook's past lol. what do you guys think? who do you think the mysterious girl might be? she'll be revealed later on in the story lol.
i'm sorry if this was a little confusing whoops. it's going to get more confusing, so please hang on sksks. don't worry, i'll try to clarify bit by bit. try not to over-confuse yourselves. keep this in mind : although every member are somehow connected, they have so if i mention something about a member, eg this mysterious girl, it only applies to Jin, no one else.
you can forget about the girl for the time being lol, until i get back to Jin. each chapter talks about different members, and you'll just have to remember certain things about the members.

I stepped back getting ready to leave when a sliver of sunlight struck highlighting my face. "Wait!" He murmured and I turned back to look at him."You're beautiful." He said breathlessly.I would have blushed, but he was so mean and rude to me that his compliment lost its impact long ago."I need to go," I told him."Wait."
