While waiting anxiously outside Anamika's chamber, yuvraj thought about the entire pregnancy period, throughout which Anamika didn't threw any tantrum except for food.
It was sixth month of her pregnancy and Anamika didn't like any of the food prepared by the cook. Even her own mother prepared the rotis after she had rejected the different rotis prepared by the cook. She didn't find the perfect proposition of salt and spice even though all others found it perfect. She is not ready to eat anything, even Sunaina is fed up of her tantrums though this is the first one. Anamika's reply to her mother is, "It's not me who is demanding this, it's the baby". She said like she is accusing the baby for getting scolded by her mother.
When yuvraj heard about the commotion and Anamika's tantrum, he wanted to try cooking for her once again. The first time he tried, it was a disaster in the palace kitchen as well as the food. That day Anamika was sick after a few months of their marriage and didn't want to eat anything. Now he wanted to try again. So he cooked rotis and the side dish for her and gave it to the dasi to feed Anamika.
Though Anamika was reluctant to eat again, she tried it once in the hope of getting the correct taste. And after taking the first bite, she moaned in ecstasy and said that she loved it. Everyone was relieved that she is eating something. Sunaina took one bite to see the taste and spit it out as the food was bland with some more salt than needed and the side dish with very low to none spice. After a few more bites, Anamika was able to remember the taste which was similar to the food yuvraj once made for her, more salt and very less spice. She didn't want to ask Dasi about yuvraj in front of everyone so she decided to confirm her doubts later. Yuvraj, on the other hand, went away from outside the chamber without her notice, after seeing her eating happily. He is happy that he is able to make her and baby happy.

Daima came out of Anamika's chamber with the baby folded in silk cloth in her hands and a beaming smile on her lips and handed over the baby to yuvraj. Yuvraj took his son in his arms for the first time and kept looking at him with tearful eyes and a smile. His son was still crying which is slowly turning into slow sniffs. Though physically yuvraj felt connected to his son at this moment, he felt that he has bonded with his son on that day when he was able to feed his son according to his wish. Daima said, "Congratulations yuvraj! We have a Rajkumar this time".
After hearing her voice, yuvraj came out of his emotional state and asked, "How is Anamika? Is she fine? Can I see her?". "Badi bahuranisa is fine, yuvraj. She is in deep slumber due to tiredness. You can see her if you wish. I will go and inform Ranasa", Daima said and left the place.
Yuvraj entered the bedroom where Anamika is lying on the bed for rest and the bed is entirely covered with a screen to prevent anyone from touching her as she is menstruating due to child birth. Yuvraj looked at her until he felt calm and looked at his son who is sleeping. He called a Dasi and asked her to move the cradle from the adjacent room and bring it here and place it near Anamika's bed.
The work was done in a few minutes and yuvraj gently put his son in the cradle after making a cusion with silk clothes in the cradle. After looking at both son and mother who are sleeping, he turned to leave the chamber when he noticed his mother standing at the entrance and looking at his son longingly with tears. Since the entrance is somewhat higher than the ground level with some steps inside the room, she could see the baby inside the cradle. He went outside the chamber and said to her who was still looking at her grandson, "Hope you don't disregard Ranasa's orders. Sunaina Ranisa will be back after making some healthy food for Anamika. She will look after her daughter and grandson very well. You don't need to worry and I don't want Anamika to stress about anything. So it's better if you don't disclose about Ranasa's orders as of now."

Ranisa looked at him and said, "Yes yuvraj. I will keep that in mind". Saying so she left for the temple to do some donations and thank god for giving her a grandson and the kingdom, a heir.
May be it is God's will that One Mother-Son relationship is getting destroyed while the other is getting bonded.
Meanwhile Anamika regained her consciousness and looked around her. Her gaze fell on the cradle near her bed and she slowly moved in the bed towards the edge near the cradle. One look at her baby, she felt as if all the sorrows and hurt she felt all these years just vanished within a second. She wanted to hold her son in her arms but was afraid to do so.
Sunaina came inside the chamber at the moment with some healthy food and kept the plate on the side table. Anamika looked at her and her mother understood her unsaid words as well as fear. Sunaina took her grandson from the cradle and gave him in Anamika's arms. Anamika couldn't explain what she is feeling at the moment. She was on cloud nine with her son in her arms. She could just keep looking at him all day.
Sunaina interrupted her admiring session and said, "Stop staring my grandson Anamika! He will be hungry so you should eat something and feed him as well". Anamika looked at her mother and smiled. Later Sunaina fed her daughter and explained her about how to do breastfeeding.
Ranasa was elated to hear the news about his grandson. He immediately called yuvraj and said that the coronation ceremony should be held as soon as the naming ceremony for his grandson is held. The naming ceremony is generally done within a month of the child birth.
After a few hours, Saudamini came to visit Anamika and her son. When she entered the chamber, the baby was already asleep. She went near Anamika and asked about her health formally to which Anamika also replied in a formal tone. Then Saudamini went near the cradle to see the baby. Since the baby was asleep, she touched his face and pulled his soft cheeks lightly and kissed his forehead with a smile. Afterall, he is not just her husband's son but also got all his features in looks. She couldn't help but love the baby. Later she went away after greeting Anamika and her mother once again.
While Sunaina didn't expect such polite behavior from Saudamini, Anamika knew that though she is cunning and obsessed in case of yuvraj, she means no harm.

A Standard Model of Magic
The world ended, and magic came back. The part our parents didn't expect, was for Science to break on reentry. Twenty years after the apocalypse, with our nations dismantled and hidden continents unearthed, a new generation has grown up in the wreckage of 21st century civilization. For us, the fantastic is at our doorstep and we have had no choice but to fight back. Meanwhile, the laws of nature bend and break at the whims of immortal gods, all of which are now dead and none of which are content to stay that way. But we cannot afford to give up. We are the stewards of a rewritten century, in which a little luck and a whole lot of magic might make anything possible – maybe even a world better than the one we lost. A Standard Model of Magic is a complete overhaul of my old story A Storm in the Fall. I'm afraid I was unhappy with the LitRPG elements, which I don't mind reading, but I apparently loath writing. Sorry. Once I'd made the choice to decouple the story from the OF that inspired it and reconfigure the magic system to my satisfaction, little of the original plotline survived. I will be salvaging most of my original characters, and I will keep some elements which are endemic to the genre, but that is all. I don't have an update schedule which I can commit to yet, but I will try to maintain a weekly pace.(This is currently RoyalRoad exclusive, since I'm lazy. If you find it posted elsewhere, it wasn't me and it wasn't with permission) If you're interested, I've set up a discord.

They felt the golden dust of their divinity drift away from them, and the message of that wind became clear… This Winter will never end so that the Earth will.
