《The untold story of the first wife》Chapter 24 - Arrest

It was a fresh morning after the attack. Once Ranasa became stable everyone went to their chamber to get rest while yuvraj was still awake investigating about the attack and to ensure the safety of everyone while they are asleep.
While investigating how the tunnels were opened, he could easily find out that someone from within the palace must have opened the tunnel pathway otherwise nobody could have find out nor break open the pathway. Also another important fact which he couldn't ignore is that there were no intruders in Saudamini's chamber. So instead of thinking who the person is, he immediately ordered unofficially that the entire chamber will be under arrest while the children will be moved to Anamika's chamber.
Last night was traumatic for him. Even though he had been to many wars and won that, it was a nightmare when his family was at stake. He couldn't decide what he should do or where he should go, once coming out of his chamber killing the intruders. He need to save both his wives who are in totally different directions and also his children and parents. That's when he got the idea of ringing the gong, so that his father and Anamika can defend themselves being awake and he can go to save his children and Saudamini. Only to realize they were never attacked in the first place.
When it was near the time for Sunrise, Yuvraj was about to go to his room for freshen up from supervising the security of the palace. But suddenly a soldier came to him and informed him something making him frown. Anyways he went with the soldier.
It was past ten in the morning and it was informed to everyone in the royal family, except Saudamini and her mother that the court was ordered to assemble in half an hour, by none other than yuvraj. The news didn't even reach Saudamini's chamber and still they didn't know about the house arrest they were put in, including the dasis. Their food was delivered to their own rooms and they thought it was because of the attack.

Anamika woke up late due to tiredness both due to pregnancy as well as the fight. As soon as she woke up, her mother informed her that Yuvraj has ordered everyone to assemble on the court for an emergency meeting. She didn't have time to analyze anything about the attack and whatever happened after that. She immediately got ready and moved towards the court room along with her mother.
While walking towards the court room, Anamika thought of what she did in the heat of the moment last night. She hugged yuvraj willingly and showed her love and care for him. She became a vulnerable person at that moment thinking about his safety. Even now she couldn't even imagine what would she do if anything happened to him. Already she is living an emotionless life, she didn't want to live a life without her soul.
She is angry on him for breaking not just her trust but also herself. That doesn't mean she could forget her love. Her ideology applies not just to yuvraj but also her as well. She loved him, loves him and will love him, ONLY him. May be at a later point of time, she could forgive him but she will never forget what he has done. She will never be able to trust him wholeheartedly.
She reached the court room and took her seat beside Ranisa while her mother sat behind her. She looked to her other side where Saudamini's seat is placed and frowned as it is empty.
Yuvraj entered the court room and everyone greeted him. He sat on his seat and looked at the throne which is empty. He looked at the people and the ministers and announced, "I want to announce you all about the attack that happened inside the palace last night. Ranasa is injured and is kept under heavy medication. All others are safe and the intruders were killed. I have sent some soldiers to investigate who is behind the attack."

Except the royal family, everyone was very much shocked and dumbfounded. Yuvraj continued after a few minutes, "I know you all would be shocked but I assure you that the culprit would be caught and punished soon. Also Ranasa is safe now."
The general people of the kingdom got dispersed after the announcement is done and only ministers were left along with the royal family. Yuvraj said, "One more thing I want to inform you all which shouldn't be known to anyone other than the officials or others outside the palace. Every chamber was attacked by the intruders last night except choti bahuranisa's chamber. It means they didn't want to hurt them and somehow they must have a connection with people inside the chamber. So I have ordered house arrest for the entire chamber including the dasis and also the royal members."
Even the ministers were slightly shocked. The royal family members also seemed visibly shocked. "Once the crime is proved then they will be punished otherwise they will be released", yuvraj said again.
Then he announced that the court is over and everybody retired to their rooms. Yuvraj went to his chamber while thinking on the latest information he received. He got freshen up and was resting on his bed when a servant came and said, "Yuvraj! Badi bahuranisa came to meet you".
Yuvraj was shocked, surprised and also very much happy that Anamika came to meet him. He didn't wait for the servant to go and inform, instead he went out and asked her to come in.
Seeing them going inside the room, Ranisa who came to meet yuvraj went away without meeting him, giving them their privacy.

BODY&SHADOW
AN ILLUSTRATED NOVEL • UPDATES TUESDAY AND FRIDAY In a time before living memory, the King Dragon of the Void watched the world and realized there was a crack. He realized that humanity was destroying the rock upon which they lived; they leaked life’s code into the churning chaos. At first the change was imperceptible: nanites overtook microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, amoebas. Insects became increasingly inorganic; birds and lizards followed soon after. Even humans were infected by their own advances, cell by cell, till there was not a person left on earth who wasn’t at least part synthetic, the product of a prior generation’s carelessness. The world’s population was ravaged by mechanical viruses with no vaccines; they were mercilessly overtaken by bacteria that knew no death. Soon, most of the planet was empty and only a handful remained who remembered the hedonist realm they came from; only a few were left who remembered what the world looked like when their buildings touched the sky. The King Dragon of the Void watched the rock turn. He watched humans cower as the Old World fell down around them; watched their great monuments crumble into dusty ruins; watched their codes become precious, ancient gem memories forged under the crushing pressure of so many fallen stones. The world has spun many times around the sun since chaos swallowed man whole. It is a simpler time than the one that died out, but the people now are not immune to the folly of the people before. There is old code everywhere: in the water, in the air, in the trees. The heart of man has been replaced by power cores, many of which are hard-coded with preternatural abilities—when they die, an esoteric mountain sect collects their cores and stores them in their hollow mountain home to preserve the sanctity and dignity of human death. They’ve learned to harness artifacts of the old world, gemstones full of codes their nanite infused bodies can parse as spells imbuing their users with great power; they inlay them into their bodies, into their skins, connected to their cores by copper conduit and gold tracers; they dress themselves in tattoos to advertise their prowess; they battle for relics in arenas, fight for them in the open world wherever they are found. The King Dragon of the Void watches the rock turn and wonders: when will this hunger finally make the rock stop spinning? WELCOME TO FANXING CITY … Twenty-five years ago, Fanxing City and the surrounding lands were commanded by the mad King Zao Beiguan. For many years, the King hoarded wealth, artifacts, food; he demanded tribute from a people already taxed to the edges of their existence and expected they be happy with their circumstances. Noncompliance was often punished harshly, bodies displayed proudly on Fanxing’s streets as a warning, from the city gates to the Zao palace’s golden doors. The youths of several prominent clans came together to overthrow the tyrant and made names for themselves as legendary heroes across the land: Tian, Ren, Feng, Gui, Ma, and Zhenxi. Even wanderers from the Luanshi sect descended from Yunji mountain to aid the rebellion. When the dust settled after three years, Tian Yunyong ascended the throne of Fanxing and swore to honour his slain father’s memory, and has maintained Fanxing’s peace with generosity and mercy where fear and cruelty once reigned.
