《Torched Souls|Cherish》Chapter 16

"I love them beautiful ass love faces you make when I'm deep stroking you." Priest kissed Cherish's lips as he thrusted deeply.

"Shiiiiit, Priest." She moaned. It felt like she had forgotten how to breathe.

"Breathe, mama. I don't need you fainting while I'm in this good shit." He grunted as she let out a shaky breath from her body convulsing. "This pregnant pussy is something serious. Fuck!" He pulled out and laid down. "Come ride this dick." Cherish crawled on top of Priest and eased down on his length, riding him with precision as she cupped her breasts in the palm of her hands. "You're so fucking beautiful."

"I love this dick." She threw her head back moaning.

"And I love you, mama." Grabbing her by her waist, he guided her up and down his dick as he punished the hell out of her pussy.

Priest gently shook her. "Wake up, mama." She could feel his hand on her face. Soft. Caressing. Loving. She had to be dreaming that feeling. Opening her eyes, she looked at him sleepily before blinking rapidly to fully adjust her eyesight until he came into view clearly. "We're here."

Feeling her face damped, she quickly wiped the side of her mouth to get rid of the access slob. She hoped he didn't see that, which more than likely he did, since her head was facing him. More than anything, she hoped she wasn't talking in her sleep because she was screaming Priest's name like she was in a choir trying to hit a high note. The throbbing between her legs that was doing the Holy Ghost right now nearly brought tears to her eyes.

She hadn't been touched since Assad. She didn't understand why this pregnancy had her horny all the time, knowing she didn't have a man to handle that for her. It was torture. She grabbed her on the go Aquarelle Antibacterial Wipes out of her bag before wiping down her hands and her mouth, then grabbed a piece a gum.

"Good dream? You were slobbering and snoring like a motherfucker. Could've sworn I heard a little bit of moaning." He laughed amused.

"I don't slob, drool; whatever. I damn sure don't snore, and you didn't hear any moaning." She rolled her eyes. He laughed again, then stepped out of the Black Cadillac XTS Sedan after letting the driver know he didn't have to open the door, to help her out. He wasn't driving today. He had a driver to drive him and Cherish to her doctor's appointment. She didn't make an appointment for a Quad screen since they would've been finding out the sex of the baby days later, so she figured she'll get it done together.

Priest was still somewhat treating her the same, but had eased up. Meaning his wall was still up, but he was being nice to her. He didn't want to bring any added stress her way, especially with her being pregnant. Seeing that picture of her and Von "kissing" then her revealing they used to sleep together just brought up a lot of things he tried to keep buried. A big part of him knew he was wrong for treating her the way he had been, but the other part was heavy in his feelings. If he actually dealt with the root of things, his emotions would be handled in a better and healthy way.

Those demons that crept in at night were trying to take over, and he tried like hell not to let them. If he convinces himself that Cherish saw him a certain way because of what happened to him, then he could continue convincing himself that's why she left and ran into Von's arms, which is not what happened. No matter how things are now, he was already convinced they wouldn't work out anyway. He was damaged goods. If any woman knew what happened to him, then they would look at him differently. In hindsight, he knew he wasn't the best for Cherish. She's dealing with enough stuff of her own to add his problems to the equation. She didn't deserve to deal with a nigga like him. At the same time, he loves Cherish beyond the limits and was selfish with her.

He knew if he actually said the words and told Cherish to stop fighting for him, maybe, just maybe, she would. He didn't want her to, and that's very selfish. He doesn't plan on anything getting deep between Asia and him, but they were still sleeping together, and he did like her vibe. Asia was like the female Truth, like she could be the female version of a best friend to him. He still needed to get to know her more before making that determination. Priest, Truth, and Shooter always been three peas in a pod; blood couldn't make them closer. They are brothers for life, but Truth and Priest always been closer.

"Heard you." He chuckled while helping her out of the back seat. "I know you could do it yourself." He added.

He knew Cherish was about to say that she could get out on her own, which she could. He handled her with kid gloves to ensure this pregnancy would be a safe one. He couldn't have harm coming to either one of them. She was always so annoyed, but it always gave her a warm feeling. Cherish stomach had grown overnight. Priest couldn't keep his hands off her stomach. He couldn't wait to start feeling their son kick; he was still so positive that's what she was carrying. He always wanted his first child to be a boy, but having daughters was a different feeling that he wouldn't change.

"Priest, shut the fuck up. If you know I could do it myself, then let me." She rolled her eyes. Cherish's mood has been nothing but crazy to him. One minute, she was happy. The next, she was sad. Then she was angry. The next, she was laughing. Then she was crying. The next, she was threatening him for getting her pregnant. He wondered if that's how she was when she was pregnant with Malaysia after she left. Priest irritated her. As much as she wanted them to be together again, he irritated her so much.

"Watch your mouth and your step, stubborn ass." He sternly told her, which she didn't respond to. His hand was on the small of her back and she wanted to move it, but refrained as he held open the door for her to step inside the doctor's office. She couldn't wait to be away from him.

and a half later, she was lying on the examination table while the doctor moved the device around her stomach. Once again, hearing the sound of their baby's heartbeat had Priest acting a fool with happiness. Despite her feelings about the pregnancy, she didn't drown out the sound this time. Instead, she listened to it. Memorized it. Let it engulfed her. The sound had brought tears to her eyes as she stared at the screen.

"That's really our baby." She sniffled. Priest looked down at her and noticed this time her face wasn't stoic, she was actually showing emotions. Priest kissed her temple before staring at her again. The doctor smiled at how lovingly Priest was staring at Cherish, despite Cherish not looking at him.

"You see that." The doctor pointed to the monitor. "It's a boy."

"That's what the fuck I'm talking about! I knew I was getting a son." Priest smiled big. Priest leaned down and kissed Cherish's cheek repeatedly to keep from kissing her lips. "Thanks, mama. Thank you for giving me a son."

Cherish turned her head and looked at Priest, the smile on his face, the happiness in his voice, and the happy tears that were filling his eyes indicated how excited he was. The man predicted their baby's sex, and she hated that he was right. She half wished it was a girl since he was so team boy. That was just her being petty though.

"Not like I had a choice." She half-smiled, joking.

"You did." He responded seriously. "I do feel like it's your body, and you're the one who has to carry the baby and experience all that comes with being pregnant. A conversation could've been had this time around, I would've been in my feelings, but I wouldn't have blamed you if you didn't want to go through with it."

Cherish stared at how serious he was. That was a first, but she wouldn't have aborted their baby anyway. Even though she didn't want any more kids, she wouldn't have. She hated to say it, but if she had gotten pregnant by Assad, that's exactly what she would've done and not cared who didn't like it. It wasn't even deep on her end for her to keep a baby by him. She felt the same about Honesti and thought about aborting her. She doesn't see herself keeping any more babies by men she's not in a relationship with. Priest is a different story obviously, but her feelings are the same for having a baby with him knowing they aren't together.

As she suspected she lost Assad. She hadn't talked to him since she told him she was pregnant. She briefly saw him at the back to school event Priest had put together, but right when she was about to approach him; Assad was gone. Despite ghosting her, she still tries to reach out to him, but never gets an answer or response to a text she sent. Part of her wanted to be angry that he lied about them remaining friends, but she understood. She was trying to convince herself that sex was all he wanted. She doubted she would get anymore answers from Assad anytime soon. Did she still have feelings for him? Yes. She wasn't about to lose no sleep over him though.

"I appreciate that, but I'm getting my tubes tied after this one, so there will be no more slip ups." She rolled her eyes as Priest chuckled. "My next man better accept being a step-daddy." She added, and now Priest was frowning. Before he could say something, the doctor did.

"Oh my, wait! How did we miss this?" The doctor looked at the monitor, which brought Cherish and Priest's attention back to her. They saw the look on her face and instantly got concerned.

"What's wrong?" Cherish asked her. The doctor started pressing the device, massaging down on her stomach. Priest could see the panic on Cherish's face. Now he was worried something was wrong with their son. The doctor hadn't done the quad screen yet, but he doesn't think the results would be back right then anyway.

"Dr. Alvarez, can I speak with you outside?" Priest asked as Cherish, and Dr. Alvarez looked at him.

"Priest." Cherish spoke, telling him she wanted to hear what's going on with their baby. He didn't want her stressing.

"Please." Priest added. Of course, Cherish has a right to know, but too much was happening, and he wanted to spare her. If it was something serious, he wouldn't keep it from her.

"Of course." Dr. Alvarez stood as Priest followed behind.

Cherish stared up at the ceiling as tears filled her eyes. She was worried. Maybe because part of her doesn't want the baby, something was now wrong with him. She doesn't know if she could handle that.

"Talk to me, Dr. Alvarez, what's wrong with our son?" Priest anxiously asked.

Dr. Alvarez smiled. "It looks like there's another leg—"

"What the hell does that mean? Our son has three legs? How the hell he supposed to walk with three legs? I don't see what the hell you're smiling about." Priest mugged her after cutting her off.

"I'm saying he's hiding behind his brother." Dr. Alvarez continued smiling.

"He? Hiding? Brother? Man, what?"

"She's carrying twins." Dr. Alvarez confirmed. "It also means she won't carry to term. Her new estimated due date is February 28th."

Priest smiled. Not only was he blessed with one son, but two. He couldn't believe that. He was going to wait to tell Cherish because he wanted to surprise her. He knew she was going to lose her mind once she found out that they were about to be parents to four kids.

"Thank God, I was afraid something was wrong. Don't tell her. I want to be the one to." Priest was still smiling. Dr. Alvarez nodded before they walked back into the room.

"What's wrong? What did she say, Priest? What did you tell him?" Cherish fired off question after question.

"He's okay." Priest smirked. She was confused about why he's smirking, but she believed him. Priest was way too happy about this baby, so if something was wrong then his reaction, and expressions, would've revealed that. He was happier than before, so she truly believed him.

"Well, what did you supposedly miss?" Cherish looked at Dr. Alvarez.

"Everything is cool, mama. Stop worrying. I would tell you if something was wrong." Priest said, she nodded. Once the doctor saw she was content, she walked back over to the monitor and sat down.

The doctor turned the screen away from Cherish, then continued massaging down on Cherish's stomach as Priest looked. The more Dr. Alvarez massaged Cherish's stomach, the more the second baby moved, and a few minutes later, he was visible as well. Priest put his fist in his mouth as happy tears filled his eyes, which Cherish was confused by the whole thing. Yet, she said nothing, since she knew how he felt.

"I will print these for you and give you two some time before we get started on the Quad screen. Congratulations on your baby boy." Dr. Alvarez smiled before standing.

"Thank you." Both Cherish and Priest spoke in unison.

__

I be so sick of you niggas, y'all contradicting

I be so bored with myself, can you come and fuck me?

I feel so ordinary, 'cept when you around me

Treat me like corduroy, wear me out

Arguments, you air me out

Trippin' 'bout your whereabouts

I can't keep no conflict with you

Boy, can we just rub it out?

I don't want no static with you, you know you my plug

And I can't shake this habit, no

I've been up, baby

Heavy reminiscin'

Heavy on the missin' you

Wish it was different than what it was (oh yeah)

I've been up, baby

Lost in the lie of us

Lost, ain't no findin' us

I've been up, baby

"And if you wondered if I hate you." Cherish looked at Priest. "I DO! Shitty of you to make me feel just like this. What I would do to make you feel just like this. And if you wondered if I hate you. FUCK YOU!" She stuck up her middle finger at him, the look on his face had her weak with laughter.

"Stop fucking saying that shit." Priest frowned.

"You really in your feelings that I said I hate you and fuck you? Niggas could never handle what they dish out." Cherish chuckled with a shake of her head. She said those words a lot, "I hate you." Priest couldn't handle either time, and he wished she stopped saying it, knowing that she didn't.

"I never said shit about fuck you, or I hate you." He looked at her.

"Might as well. Your actions sure as hell did." She shrugged.

"Cherish, stop fucking playing with me." Priest ran a hand down his face.

"They're just lyrics. Ain't no reason to cry about it. If I want to say I hate you, fuck you, or whatever, then I could. You can't control how I feel or what I say."

"You love me." He stated as if he did something.

"And? I don't deny that I do anymore. I sure as hell love you something serious, but remember, there's a thin line between love and hate. As much as I love you, I hate you." She rolled her eyes.

"You're childish." He shook his head.

"No, your childishness is precisely why things are the way they are. Grow up, bro." She frowned.

"I'm not your bro." He frowned. "And I'm not trying to stress you out."

"But you are. Remember how you once told me, I don't want to be the person draining the life outta you. Just the person to love and cherish when the time comes? Well, that's exactly what you're doing. Draining the fucking life out of me. Like, I am so sick of you, Priest. I'm sick of looking at you. Hearing your fucking voice. You being anywhere near me! I am sick of it. For the life of me, I don't know why I bother. Why I'm always rushing to defend you because I don't like people making assumptions about you when they don't exactly be wrong. Why I keep fighting for something that's clearly dead and can't be revived." She had to use what Assad said because that's what it was feeling like. "Why feeling like that still makes me not want to give up on you. I'm a fool when it comes to you, and I am sick of it."

"I wish I never moved back here." She added while mumbling. "I wish you never came back into my life... invading my heart. I wouldn't have kept Malaysia from you any longer. You would've been a part of our daughters' lives. Just not mine."

The driver looked through the rearview mirror before focusing back on driving. He has a daughter some years younger than Cherish, and that's who she reminded him of in this moment. He kept his mouth closed, but he wanted to offer her some words to put her at ease. As much as she sounded upset, the look on her face confirmed just how much she was.

Priest stared at her, seeing the tears in her eyes. Her words always seem to cut deep. As much as she told herself when he came to pick her up, that she wouldn't let Priest see how much she's still hurting over the fact he doesn't want her anymore, she couldn't control it. She was thinking she has the upper hand, then in so little words and actions, Priest proves he does. They were always finding themselves in these same arguments, and it really was draining. He knew he needed to stop his shit before it was too late.

"I apologize, mama. I don't know why I can't get it right with you. Why I keep fucking up. The last thing I want to do is keep you stressed out while you're pregnant." He sighed, but she didn't respond.

"Are you hungry?" Priest asked, trying to ease the tension. Cherish cut her eyes at him. He didn't bother further going into that conversation with another response because it'll only upset her more, and he was trying to avoid that.

"No." Was all she responded before looking out the window.

"Stop at Soule's." Priest told the driver. He looked at Cherish, seeing a faint smile form on her lips. Cherish could eat food from Priest's restaurant every day. She couldn't describe how good the food was. She was either ordering out from there or sitting in. She had her own personal table. It made Priest happy how she was supporting his business.

"Can you look at me? I want to show you something? I also want to ask you something." Priest scratched the back of his neck because he was nervous as hell. She sighed, but looked his way. Seeing him now holding two manila envelopes. She eyed them, then looked back up at him.

"What's that?" She asked. He handed one to her. She hesitated before grabbing it because she knew like hell he wasn't about to take her to court or something. Cherish mind was always thinking of the craziest things.

Opening up the envelope, she pulled out the papers. After reading over it, tears had rolled down her cheeks and onto the paper. It's no secret how much Priest loves Honesti, but she wasn't expecting him to adopt her either. It sounds crazy, but that's the truth. She thought he'd be perfectly content with taking on the father role. She wasn't expecting this. Not so fast at that.

"I know it hasn't been long that I decided I'd be that figure in her life, but I don't just want to be someone she calls daddy, or I don't want you to throw in my face that I'm not her biological father. That shit hurt on a deep level when you said she wasn't mine. That's my daughter and can't a soul tell me differently. I want it official though." Priest explained. "I also wanted to know, if you decide to let me legally become her father, if she could have my last name as well."

"Priest..." Cherish was speechless. She would never understand that. How they go from arguing to it feeling like the argument didn't happen. Toxic.

"You want me to beg again? I'm not above that shit when it comes to my kids." He added as she looked into his eyes. The seriousness made her shiver.
