《The Insemination》Chapter Thirty-Six

Feeling my chest rise and fall hard, I feel myself starting to hyperventilate. Looking at my reflection, I move my arms and feel no pain. Looking down at my body, I look for a single scratch or bruise to only find nothing. Glancing at the leg that was broken, I hop on it and land back on the floor with no pain or falling.
"Oh my gosh," I say out of shock. Looking down at the bandages and cast, I pinch myself. "Oh my gosh." This is no dream. My body is completely healed. Rushing out of the walk in closet, I go to the bed to search for my phone. "Where are you, you stupid phone?" Throwing pillows, I grunt in frustration. Searching around the room, I see my phone on the oak nightstand next to the bed.
Grabbing it, my eyes go wide as I notice the day. Quickly dialing her number, I stand out of the bed and start to pace. "Pick up, pick up, pick up, pick up."
"Hey Irina," she says answering.
"Amelia!" I shout from fear.
"What's going on? I haven't heard from you. Are you okay? How is it living with Mr. Hot Baby Daddy?"
"Amelia I was asleep for two days. Two days," I say looking at the date again.
"That's not very healthy," she jokes.
"Amelia you don't understand! I was asleep for two days and I didn't wake up at all! And this morning when I woke up my scars and bruises are gone!" I shout still panicking.
"Have you been sniffing coffee again? You didn't drink any did you?"
"Your not listening to me!" I shout.
"Irina? You sound like your freaking out," Amelia says now alert.
"That's because I am! I woke up this morning with my body healed. I feel no pain, I have no scars, nothing."
"Shit," Amelia says under her breath. Pausing, I notice that she isn't panicking along with me.
"Amelia?" I call into the phone, but she says nothing. Shocked, I stop pacing. "What do you know? Amelia, what is this?" I ask knowing she knows something.
"I-I don't know," she says. I feel pain in my chest. My eyes go wide.
"You do. You know I know when your lying, yet you lie to me? Amelia, what in the hell is happening to me?" I ask now out of anger.
"I'll be right there Irina and I'll explain. Just, stay there," she says hanging up.
Dropping my phone from shock, my hands start to tremble. "I have to get out of here." Rushing back to the closet, I find a pair of black Under Armour sweat pants, and an Under Armour black sports bra, with a white shirt, I pull them off the hangers. Quickly undressing, I put on the workout clothes. Grabbing a pair of what looks to be running shoes, I put them on and hear a door slamming loudly. Crouching, I hear a door in the distance slamming and glass shattering.

Standing back up, I find a random rubber band on a counter by a pair of navy wedge and pick it up. Putting my hair in a ponytail, I rush out of the closet to grab my phone and I slowly open my door. While doing so, I door does a small creak making me scrunch my face up. Opening it the rest of the way, I tiptoe out of the room and into the hallway.
"Okay. Time to get out of here."
Hearing the glass shatter from me slamming the door so hard, I smile in satisfaction. Seeing the black Nissan parked in the front of the yard with a man standing in front of the passenger side door, grin. Flipping my hair, I sway my hips while walking, hoping that Ezra is watching me leave. Hoping that he will know what he's missing and will run out of the house, embrace me in a hug, and say sorry.
"Ms. Yang," the driver greets. Nodding my head, I look back and notice that Ezra isn't coming. Getting into the car, I am greeted by a set of blue eyes.
"Mother," I say.
"Yuri," she says back. Looking at her jet black hair and round face, I notice a few wrinkles.
"You seem to be aging," I state. The driver makes it to the drivers side door and gets in. As he turns car on, I take one more look at the house and pray that Ezra was coming.
Slowly pulling off, I sit back in the car and huff. My heart starts to sink. "I don't remember asking for the company," I say trying to direct my anger elsewhere.
"Yes well, as soon as Jose told me where he was going, I insisted."
Rolling my eyes, my mother grabs my face and turns my neck so she can see both sides. "Your not marked," she growls as her words come out like venom.
"I just need more time," I tell her. "I almost had him." Recalling the day Ezra almost marked me but Rick intruded, I groan. I almost had him.
"Almost?" My mother asks looking at me with a hint of annoyance on her face.
"Y-yes-."
Feeling a sharp sting towards my left check. I gasp from shock. Placing my hand on the burning sensation, I look at my mother in fear.
"Your so worthless," she states. "Your sisters managed to get marked. Even Kyle did, and she's years younger than you. What is your problem?"
Scared to speak, I knew she wasn't done talking. "If he can't mark you, what is your purpose to me Yuri? Do you really want me to shun you so you can go rouge?"
I quickly shake my head no. "Clearly you do," she says. "What is your excuse? And I'd better be good."

"I-I-Irina," I stutter.
"And just who is she?"
"She's got artificially inseminated with Ezra's sperm. She lives with him now," I say my voice going soft.
My mother starts to laugh. "Wow. Just pathetic."
Growing angry at my mothers insults, I smack the empty seat between us. "I'm handling it mother."
"Sure you are," she laughs.
"I am mother. I swear!"
"Oh yeah? Then why is she still alive?" She growls.
"Because she survived the car crash. But, don't worry, I told Terry, and Terry is going to tell as many people as he can."
"Hmph. I'll believe it when I see it. But," she says as in one quick motion gripping my neck. "If you don't get him to mark you, I will kill you myself. Once you mark him, we can kill him. Understand?"
Nodding my head, she releases my neck. Coughing, I rub my neck and fight the tears that try to come. "I understand mother," I croak.
Sneaking down the hallway, I notice the house is awfully quite. Looking around, I notice there is only one other room on this floor. Walking to it, I place my ear on the door and hear someone groan. Shocked, I hurry pass the door and make it to the stairs.
Hearing the door open, my sneaking turns into running. "Irina?" I hear a deep voice call out. Stopping, I turn around and watch as a shadow appears on the wall.
Turning back, I hurry down the stairs. Looking to my left and right, I hear a small laughter and some talking. Sniffing the air, the smell of breakfast kicks my nose making my stomach growl. Wanting to walk to the scent, I shake my head and go for the door. Touching the doorknob, I hear my name once again.
"Irina!"
Turning around, I see Ezra standing at the stair rail. His face looks shocked. "Irina, just calm down. Let me explain."
Opening the door, I swing it wide open trying to avoid stepping on the broken glass and start to sprint. Outside, I fight the need to block my eyes from the suns warm luminous rays. Stopping, I look across the vibrant green yard. Looking left and right, I sprint towards what looks like the woods.
"Irina!" I hear Ezra call out again. Quickening my pace, I don't look back. Feeling my energy trying to drain, I push myself harder. Making it into the woods, I look around and try to figure out which way to go.
"Irina wait!"
Passing trees of all shapes and sizes, the wind starts to blow harder. Turning around, I look to see if Ezra's coming. Feeling something in front of me, I trip. Falling, I look at the branch sticking out of the ground and huff.
"Ouch," I fuss. Looking at my hand, I see a cut across my palm with blood spilling out. "Damn it."
Taking the white shirt off and only having my sports bra on, I use the shirt to soak up some of the blood. Damping it, I grunt at myself. "Why must you be so clumsy-."
Cutting myself off, I lift up the shirt to nothing. No cut, no more dripping blood. Gasping, I drop the shirt. Looking at my palm, I start to cry. "No, no, no!"
"Irina."
Jumping, I turn around to see Ezra looking concerned. "Ezra, stay away from me," I cry. "Something's wrong with me. I'm not normal. I-I healed! My injuries are gone. I just scrapped my hand and there's nothing." Showing him my hand, tears start to flow harder. "What's happening to me?"
Ezra takes a step forward making me step back. "No. Keep away from me."
"Irina, I can explain," he starts.
My eyes narrow at him. "You know what's going on don't you," I say matter of fact. "What did you do to me?"
"It's, complicated."
"Then un-complicate it Ezra. What's happening to me?"
"Nothing's happening to you. Your fine," he tries to assure me.
Feeling pain in my chest, I look away from him. "Your lying. Your lying!"
"Irina, I swear it's going to be okay. I can fix this."
Feeling another pain in my chest, I look at him. "Your lying again. Ezra, I want to know what's going on now! Tell me the truth."
"Okay," he gives in. "I'll tell you." Ready for him to start, he kicks his shoes off and then takes off his shirt.
"Wh-what in the hell are you doing? I asked for the truth! Not for a strip show."
"This is the truth," he says undoing his pants. Looking away, I hear him take them off all together.
"I doubt stripping is the truth Ezra. I mean what is it you want me to say? That you have a nice body? You have a nice body. There."
"That's not it," he smiles. "Try not to run. I love a good chase."
Before I have the chance to respond, the air is filled with cracking noise. Watching his body form in an odd movement, he kneels to the ground grunting. My eyes go wide from shock as I watch hair appear on his body, his back legs forming in those of a dog, his nails extending and his pupils dilate.
Walking backwards in disbelief, I trip over a tree root. Blinking rapidly, my view doesn't change. In front of me is a giant jet black wolf with golden eyes, and white fur on its chest.
"Oh shit."
