《The Insemination》Chapter Thirty-Three

Standing outside, I look at the night stars and breathe in a breath of fresh air. A strong wind blows making my loose clothing shift to the other side of my body. Knowing that Yuri will be on her way back from patrolling the area along with others, I stand there and wait on her as I process my anger and thoughts.

How did someone know she was pregnant with my baby? Only a limited amount of people know such a thing. There is no telling how many people are willing to go to war for this. To kill my baby, and Irina.

Smelling Yuri's scent in the air, I tense up and shove my hands in my pockets. "Ezra?" she asks as she appears near a tree. She takes a few steps towards me and then rest against the tree and frowns. Her hair is in a bun on her head as a few strings dangle around her face. She has on a dark green shirt with a black jacket and blue jeans with dark green heels on.

"What are you doing here?"

"Are you saying that I am not allowed to watch my woman come home after she comes from patrol? How is it looking out there?" I ask actually concerned about the area.

"Everything looks good. No sign of trespassers, the witches seem to be upholding their duty by keeping an eye out for enemies, the werewolves are on their side of town, and vampires, well they are wild as ever."

"Yes," I growl thinking of the one that hit Irina.

"How's your Irina?" Yuri asks while hissing and a hint of jealousy in her tone. "She's," I say and stop. I watched as Yuri perks up and walks to me.

Keep your enemies close, and your friends closer. I eye Yuri and decide to lie to see her reaction.

"What happen?" Yuri asks with fake concerning eyes.

"My child," I pause again. "My child didn't make it," I lied. "Neither did Irina. They're gone. My only heir is gone. I just wish I knew who did it," I say.

"Why?" Yuri asks with a concerning voice as she pulls away from me.

"To thank them," I say. "I was almost pulled into a life with someone I didn't know. I was going to be a father without being with the woman I love," I say cupping her face in my hands. "I was losing my mind thinking I could be a father with a woman like that. How foolish am I? I just wonder who beat me to the punch before I could've done it myself."

Yuri's face lights up and her eyes go wide as a smile grows on her face. "Do you really mean that baby?" she asks lightly jumping up and down.

"Yes."

"I wish I knew who it was too! Maybe we can move pass this and you can try to have a baby with me. Mark me as yours. Let me be your queen," she squeals.

"What do you mean?" I ask playing dumb.

"I know I threw a fit before you left and said some nasty things, but I was jealous. Now that she's gone, and I'm sorry about your baby, but maybe we can try with us ," she grins.

Gripping her by her arms, I whirl her around, and slam her against a tree. I grin. "You still want that with me?"

Her face holds fear, but she soon softens her features and smiles. "Yes. I love you. I shouldn't have said those awful things. And now that your baby is dead I feel bad," she frowns. Watching her reaction carefully, my mind is blow. She didn't do it. Though she did try to cast me under a spell earlier.

Processing the information in my head, I suddenly feel the urge to rip her head off. "Such a brave woman," I say trying not to laugh at calling her a woman when she is far from it. "You never cease to amaze me. Why don't you go ahead and go in. I have a few things I need to take care of."

Yuri looks at me and pouts. She then stands on her tip toes and pokes her lips out for me to kiss. Leaning down to kiss her lips, I fight the urge to pull away, or rip her heart through her chest.

"I think I will go put on a little something for you," she smiles. "I know how much you love seeing me nude." Turning towards the house, she smiles with a wink.

"Okay," I smile while turning away from her. Once I turn away, my smile turns into a pissed off frown. Pulling my phone from my pocket, I dial a number and put the finger to my eat. They answer in less than five seconds.

"Hello?"

"We need to talk," I growl into the phone.

"Meet me in fifteen minutes. We can talk then," he says after hanging up.

Hanging up the phone, I place it down on the wooden table to my left. Wiping my hands across my face and sigh, I lean against the brick wall. I let my body relax against the coolness of the wall.

"Sorry for that little interruption," I say as I hear a muffled sound echoing through the room. Looking up before me, I smile at the muffled sound coming from a man in a chair that is chained down. He has short black hair with a thick beard to fit it. His skin has a decent tan, yet a paleness to it from the blood loss. His black shirt is ripped in holes as blood stains are on it from his broken nose, while being drenched in sweat.

Walking to him, I snatch the tape off of his mouth. "What are you trying to say?" I chuckle.

"Your a sick bastard," he says licking his lips from the rip of the sticky tape being against them. "I told you, I'm not going to tell you anything."

"In time you will," I say as my smile fades. "You will tell me everything I need to know before I drain blood from every part of your body."

"What the hell did I ever do to you?"

"You tried to kill the wrong person," I say looking at him with hard eyes. Taking his hand, I grip his index finger and break it. Screaming out in pain, he try's to contain himself. "It's Jim, right? Tell me, what do you know about a hybrid named Ezra?"

"I don't like to say his name," Jim says with hard eyes.

"Neither do I. I am sure we will have a lot to talk about when I get back." Walking to him, I reapply the duck tape and walk off as he continues his muffling. Walking to the door, I open it to find two of my loyal friends, Dave and Brandy.

"Make sure he doesn't try anything stupid," I tell them. "And I will not be gone long. I need to go talk to the big bad wolf. It's best to do this before killing him," I smile.

Pacing back and forth, I stop and look at the night sky and see the bright moon slightly peaking from behind the thick clouds.Standing in the hospitals parking lot of Section B, I smell a stench. "You said fifteen minutes," I say out loud. Once I turn around, I see Noah leaning against someones car.

"What's a few minutes late?" Noah laughs. "Now, what do you want?" he asks standing off of the wall and walking into the parking lot becoming face to face with me. He's dressed in a simple white shirt with navy blue slack pants.

"It's about Irina," I say.

"What happen?" Noah asks with a worried look on his face looking at the hospital.

"Stay away from her," I growl not taking my eyes off of him.

Noah turns his attention away from the hospital and looks at me. "What did you just say?" he asks me with cold eyes.

"You heard me."

"I can't do that."

"Can't or won't?" I ask.

"Take your pick mutt, either way it goes, no."

Growling, I take a step forward. "Do not test me."

"Do I look like I am playing? What is Irina to you other than the mother of your child that you did not intentionally have? You do not care for her, you only care about her health so she can push that child out and you can be happy."

"That's not true!" I shout.

"Is it not?" Noah shouts back. "All you have cared about since this whole situation is that child! You have not cared for Irina. I have cared for Irina longer than you ever will in whatever lifetime you grow to live in. Do her a favor and just leave while you can. I can be there for her and that baby. Not like you can and if you have no way in being a father, I can step up when you step down."

Feeling myself grow overprotective, I growl loud. "You will not take them away from me!" Shoving Noah, I step closer to him with my nostrils flaring.

"Do not be stupid Ezra. You and I both know that you can care less for anything but yourself. You've murdered innocent women, men, and families. You only look out for your own paranoid self," Noah says pushing me back a few steps. "I want whats best for Irina, and that baby."

"And you think I don't?" I growl.

"Yes. I don't think you even thought this through. When people hear word of your child, people will move mountains to come kill it. You are willing to put your child's life in danger?"

Registering his words, I stop my anger. A baby born into the hybrid bloodline haven't happened in four hundred years. After hybrid babies ended up being murdered, pure bloodlines stopped having them.

"Are you willing to lose the one thing you have never been able to have? Are you willing to sacrifice family again?"

"I only do what is needed to be done," I say with hard eyes.

"Keep telling yourself that," Noah says walking away. "I will keep doing what is needed to be done for the safety of Irian and that baby."

"And her memories?"

"When she is safe, she can remember who I am. Until then, I am not willing to risk things like you."

Taking a step, I think for a second before I say what I say next. "I can override your compulsion."

Noah stops walking and doesn't turn to face me. Instead he says, "She will kill herself. If her compulsion is raised by someone other than me, Irian has orders to kill herself and take her own life."

My eyes widen. "What the hell is your problem? You want her to kill herself?"

"Of course not! I love her!" Noah shouts turning around. "I did that because others know how important she is and is not willing to sacrifice her life like you are! Everyone that knows that with a power like Irina, they are not going to kill her. They will use her until she dies an old lady on her deathbed. So, are you willing to lose her, or do you plan to do what you want after your child is born?" Noah asks.

"She isn't yours to love," I growl.

"And that goes for you too," he says walking away and vanishes into the night.

Running my hands through my head, I start to pace back and forth feeling worry and questions rush through me. Growling in frustration, I look at the window to Irina's room.
