《The Insemination》Chapter Twenty

"Irina, help me," Ezra pleads as he breathes heavily, looking as if he is about to pass out. I watch him lean on the door frame with blood oozing from his clothes and staining his white shirt to his blue jeans.
"What the hell happen?" I ask again. Seeing the sight of the blood, I freeze as a panic rises in my chest.
"I got into, a small accident. Please Irina. I need your help."
"No," I say feeling my hands starting to tremble.
"What? Irina please. Your the only one who can help me right now. I need you," he says leaning to the other side of the door frame. I wait for my eyes to change or to feel even the smallest pain in my chest, but I feel nothing.
He's telling the truth.
"No. Shake it off, or walk it off. Go to a hospital or go rest by a dumpster or I will call the cops and they will take you."
"You can't do that. They wouldn't understand. Your the only one. I told you I need you."
Why me? Why does he need me?
"Are you in the mafia?"
"What?"
"Are you like in the mafia? Do you kill and get rid of people? Do you dump bodies in the river and "clean up" messes and stuff? You know what don't answer that," I rant finding myself pacing. "But what if you are? I should call the police! Or the marines or the air force!"
"Irina, calm down. Your going to stress yourself which will upset the baby. Can we do this inside the apartment?"
At the sound of the word baby, I stop pacing and look Ezra in his eyes. Okay little peanut, I'm doing you a solid since he is your daddy. But, when you get older, you so owe me.
"Come in. And don't drop blood everywhere," I shout as I rush to the bathroom. "What do I need, what do I need?" I ask myself out loud as I open the cabinet above the sink. Scanning through the cabinet, I grab alcohol, swabs, a pack of bandages, elastic tape, scissors, and some disinfectant cream.
Closing the cabinet door, I grab a towel from the towel rack and open another cabinet and grab a sheet. Juggling everything in my hand, I walk into the kitchen to see Ezra standing shirtless. Stopping in my tracks, I look at him and find myself biting on my bottom lip.
Wow. I didn't know they still make bodies like that. He sure can live up to his name Zeus. If only-.

Shaking my head, I push back my thoughts and rush to him.
Placing everything out on the kitchen table, I look at Ezra and frown. "So, what exactly am I suppose to be doing?"
"There is something in my chest and I need you to get it out. I can't get it out and right now you are the only person that I trust."
"Okay," I say dragging it out. Walking to him, I scan his chest and see two holes above where his heart is.
"Someone went for the kill shot," I say frowning. "Are you ready?"
"Irina, get the damn bullets out of me," Ezra says.
Grabbing the sheet, I unfold it and place it under Ezra and spread it wide so no blood would spill on the carpet. Rushing back to him, I take the top of the alcohol and grab the scissors. Pouring the alcohol on the scissors, I look at him and sigh.
Feeling his chest, I find where one of the bullets are and take a deep breath. Ezra flinches a bit which makes me pull back some. "Look, I don't care how much this will hurt, just pull the damn thing out. What are you weak?" Ezra shouts in annoyance.
Grinning, I take the scissors and put them in the hole. Opening them up as I feel the bullet, I grab it with the scissors and yank it out. Ezra growls out as I place the bullet on the counter. Grabbing the towel and alcohol, I pour a large amount on it and slap it over the first hole. Ezra growls out again.
"Why do I get the feeling that you are enjoying this?" he says after regaining his breath.
"I actually am. You see, if you weren't such an ass, maybe I wouldn't," I say as I move the towel and grab a bandage and the elastic tape. Patching him up, I pick up the scissors again and go for the next hole. A silence goes through the air as if Ezra is thinking. Taking a deep breath, I reach inside the hole for the bullet.
"I'm sorry," Ezra says breaking the silence.
"For what?" I say feeling the tip of the bullet. Ezra reaches out and grabs my hand and squeezes without hurting me. "For," he says taking a deep breath as I go to grab the bullet. "For everything. For threating to take you to court, making you see my doctor, for not giving you answers when you want them, for being an ass, and lying to you. I am in your debt, yet I treat you poorly. With that being said will you please move in with me?"

Scoffing, I look up at him in his eyes. "Your saying all of this just so I can move in with you?" Yanking the bullet, I pull it out of his chest and slam the scissors down on the table. Snatching the towel off of the table, I pour more alcohol on it and slap it on his chest.
"Damn it Irina!" Ezra growls in pain.
"You are such an ass! How are you going to apologize and then say you want me to move in with you? You show up at my door covered in blood, you clearly seem to be some dangerous mafia man, and you want me to move in with you? Hell no. As a matter of fact, I'm not even sure if I want my baby around you. And what kind of person growls at somebody? Very mature of you."
"Irian no! You can't keep me away from my child," Ezra says taking me by my shoulders. "This child means something to me. I need it in my life. This baby is my legacy and I need it more than life itself. Are you really willing to keep that away from me?"
Looking into Ezra's eyes, my heart starts to drop as I notice a small tear falling from the corner of his left eye. Looking away, I move out of his grasp. "Is that all you needed?" I ask referring to his wound.
Ezra looks off and runs a hand through his hair. "Yeah."
"Look, you can stay here if you want," I say moving to the kitchen and grabbing a garbage bag. Opening it up, I start to place everything in the bag. "It's the least I can do for you."
"Is it?" Ezra says in a deep voice that sends a chill down my arm. Turning around, I gasp as I see him right behind me. "You," he says moving a strand of hair from my face. He slides it behind my ear and holds his hand there.
My breathing quickens as I feel my body temperature rise. At the feeling of his skin touching mine, my body shivers. His hand falls down to my chin as he gently lifts my chin up to look him in his eyes. My eyes widen as I notice they are black with a halo gold around his pupil.
"Can do so much more," he finally finishes.
"Wh-what do you mean?" I ask unable to move.
As I see Ezra lean closer, my breath stops as I am still unable to move. Only being able to hear the sound of my heart racing, I stumble backwards and find myself falling. Closing my eyes, I wait for the impact but find myself still in the air as I feel strong arms around me.
Opening my eyes, Ezra is now closer to me as my hands are on his chest and I am deep in his hold. "Ezra," I say more like a whisper.
I look into his eyes and notice that his jet black eyes with the gold ring around his pupils are now replaced with his hazel eyes. Ezra quickly pulls me up on my feet and once he does he steps back and runs a hand through his hair.
"Damn it," he says under his breath. "I'm sorry." His apology is louder and I know it's meant for me to hear.
Nodding my head, I look at him in confusion and walk towards a closed door in the hallway. Reaching out to the silver doorknob, I twist it open and look at the folded blankets. Reaching out for a blanket, I stand on my tiptoes to grab a pillow from the top shelf. Holding them both in each hand, I use my foot to close the door.
Walking back into the kitchen, I hand them to Ezra. "Here. The couch is soft so you should have no trouble sleeping."
"Thank you," he says accepting the blanket and pillow. "Where is your bathroom?" he asks setting them down on the couch.
"Right down the hall between the two rooms," I say pointing to it.
He nods his head to me and walks off while I rest both of my hands on my head and lock my fingers together. Taking in a deep breath, I let it out as I hear a big knock on the door.
Scrunching my eyebrows together, I wonder who can be at the door knowing Scott is out with his friend Tracy, and there were a few people that know where I live. Walking to the door, I open it and blink rapidly.
"Where is he?" she asks with a look of anger on her face. "I know he is here, so where is he?" she growls impatiently.
