《The Insemination》Chapter One

Keeping my breathing at a normal pace, I try to keep my body relaxed. Laying down on the thin paper placed across the cool bed with my legs elevated up in the four walls of the sweet nude color room, I direct my attention to the photos on the wall, other than the man between my legs.

My eyes wander to a photo of a baby and a dog. The dog appears to be a Great Dane as the little boy in the photo looked to be around three months. The dog is laying on a floor as the baby is laying against it smiling.

Feeling small pressure, I tense up a bit, and then relax. The blue sheet around my body crumbles a bit at my movement. "I'm sorry, I didn't hurt you did I?" he asks looking up from between my legs.

"No, I'm fine." I say trying to smile, but not looking directly in his eyes. This feels awkward enough.

Laying my head back down I try to relax again. I try not to think about how weird it is to have someone else between my legs other than, well me. I mean after all I am a virgin.

Turning my gaze from that photo, my eyes wander to one of a women sitting in a green chair, smiling down at her large round belly. The photo makes me smile, sending a warm feeling to my heart. Having the ability to create and carry life has to be amazing. Then my eyes shift to the next photo of a woman clutching a newborn boy in her arms.

"That's it," he tells me as I hear him rolling back in his chair. He rolls in his chair to the garbage can, puts his foot on the little step to open it, takes his blue gloves off and throws them away along with other items.

"Really?" I smile, mainly glad that he wasn't down there anymore. He smiles himself as he walks to the sink, washes his hands and grabs a few white paper towels to dry his hands.

"Yes, that is all. Now, I want you to keep your legs elevated up, and I am going to set this timer so after it dings, you may leave," he smiles. "So I will see you in fifteen minutes."

"Thank you," I smile.

As he walks out of the room and closes the door behind him, I turn my attention to my toes that is polished with a French manicure.

I'm so glad I have pretty feet. I'm not sure if I could've gone along with this if my feet where ugly. Then again, this is what I want.

"Knock knock," says a females voice on the other side of the door knocking. Knowing that voice from anywhere I smile. "Come in."

The door knob turns and opens as I hear it door click. "So how was it?" she asks as she walks in, closes the door behind her, and makes her way next to me. She looks at my elevated legs and frowns, though her face is holding excitement. I marvel at how she can make a causal dark blue blouse shirt, slacks, and white heels match so perfectly. Even though she reminded me of a sailor. Her dark red hair is put up into a bun as she wore little makeup and light eyeshadow that made her light blue eyes pop.

"It wasn't bad. It was great actually. Well other than having him between my legs," I smile. "Speaking of, I have to keep my legs elevated for the next," I say looking at the timer. "Thirteen minutes and then we can go."

"I cannot believe you went through with this," she smiles. "This changes everything, you know that right?"

Of course I knew that. I never do anything without thinking twice on it. Well more like thinking a thousand times on it. This is a pretty big deal for me. A baby will change my whole life.

Instead of giving her an answer I give her a "duh" look.

"Don't give me that look," she laughs. "To think that you might have a baby is, well, hard to believe."

I scoff at her words. "Okay so what if I am a little independent, working two jobs, and is about to graduate college soon."

"That's not what I mean. You have always been small. To see you with a belly in front of you is going to seem, impossible to see," she laughs as I find myself laughing with her.

She was right. My weight is one hundred and nine pounds. I have always been small, and to see a big belly in front of me is definitely going to be something worth seeing.

She walks over to the photo of the woman in the chair and points at her. "Your going to look like a cow," she frowns.

"I will not, well hope not," I argue. "But, I did some research online and it said that these things don't always work. So there is a chance that I will or will not get pregnant."

I frown at my words. Only few people knew how much I wanted this baby, how much I needed it.

"Hey, I see the wheels turning in your head. No bad thoughts okay? Now, after this we are going to meet Thomas at the Starbucks near here. You okay with that Irina?" she asks me. I nod my head yes.

"I just can't drink coffee," I frown.

"Seriously? That's a major bust. Coffee is normally your power drink knowing how busy your life is," she frowns.

As if time sped by, a tiny ding echoes in the room.

"Ding," I repeat.

"Wow, this is starting to feel real. Okay, now up lets get you back dressed," she says as I sit up in the clinic bed and stand on my feet. Once on my feet I realize I am a bit dizzy.

"You okay?" she asks me.

"Yes, maybe just from getting up quickly. Hand me my dress please," I say politely. Doing as told, she picks up my dress off of the white couch, and stands on her feet indicating she is ready when I am. Spinning my finger around, she rolls her eyes and turns around.

"I might be a little bit freakish, but I don't swing that way," she laughs.

"Yeah yeah yeah," I laugh too.

Ripping off the blue paper robe, I slip on my bark blue dress with straps. The dress hugged my body, showing my curves. Once my dress is on I slip into my black heels and gather the rest of my belongings. I walk to the trash can and throw the paper robe away.

As if on cue, another knock is at the door. "Come in," I tell them knowing it's the doctor.

"Now I want to see you back here in two weeks. Try not to drink anything that might effect the possible chance of you being pregnant. And remember, these things don't always work," he tells me.

I am sure it is procedure to not give people false hope. "Yes, I understand. Thank you Dr. Mason," I say extending my hand to the almost elderly.

He looks to be around his sixties, as he has grey strings fused with his brown hair. His skin isn't as pale but his blue eyes made him appear as if he was still younger.

"Remember, two weeks Ms. Hathaway."

Nodding my head at him, I hurry out of the room and notice I have a small pep in my step. Walking through the halls, I make my way back to the waiting area to see three pregnant women and smile. They barely smile back, but that doesn't stop the excitement coursing through me.

"Amelia don't you just feel happy," I say as we are now outside of "Masons Family Clinic".

"No. I feel hungry, can we go," she whines. Laughing, I nod my head yes and we head for the parking lot. Spotting her black jeep, I yell "Shotgun."

"You and I are the only two people," she rolls her eyes and laugh.

"I'm just making sure you don't try and make me drive," I laugh while getting in.

"Don't jinx yourself," she says as she puts her keys in the ignition. "Because you know I will stop this car anywhere and anytime to make you drive."

"Duly noted," I smile as she drives out of the parking lot and into the direction of Starbucks.
