《Cute but Psycho (Emmett Cullen)》Chapter Twenty One

Bella's birthday; not a day Piper was looking forward to. When the hours ticked closer and closer to the party, Piper began to pace nervously through the house. Rosalie had helped the girl get ready for the party, since she could barely handle standing on her own. She had to control her emotions though, otherwise she would bother Jasper when he arrived home. She always worried about other people instead of herself, and anyone could see that when they were around her.
"Bella will be here in thirty minutes, be ready!" Alice exclaimed, as she made her way down the stairs.
"You've got this, Piper." Emmett murmured, pulling her to him.
Piper stayed attached to Emmett's side as they waited for Bella to enter the house. Emmett could feel how stiff Piper was, and there really wasn't much he could do to help. Piper could smell Bella's scent clear as day, which caused her to squeeze Emmett's hand tightly.
"Piper, I--" Bella began, as she walked towards Piper.
"Don't come any closer, please." Piper mumbled, holding her hand out.
Edward understood, so he pulled Bella away from Piper. Bella stared at Piper saddened, but her eyes widened when she seen the ring on Piper's finger.
"You're getting married?!" She exclaimed, a smile on her face.
"Yes, Emmett proposed a few weeks ago." Piper replied, smiling stiffly.
"Congratulations." Bella replied, and Piper nodded.
Piper watched as Bella opened her gifts, cracking a couple smiles and even a joke with Emmett. Piper felt herself loosen up a bit, but that ended when she smelt blood.
"Papercut." Bella said, holding up her finger.
When Piper seen the blood, she felt like her body had pushed her into the back and took control. Before she could attack Bella though, Rosalie and Esme grabbed her. They ran the girl outside, and once Piper had returned from her haze, she let out a dry sob.

"I almost tried to kill my sister." She cried, as Rosalie hugged her.
"It's fine, Piper. It's your first time around her scent, or really smelling and seeing blood up close. You did really good for your first time." Rosalie said, trying to calm the girl down.
Moments later, Rosalie and piper seen Dylan and Emmett pulling Jasper from the house. Once they were outside, Piper ran to Emmett. She buried her face in his chest, feeling horrible for what she had almost done to Bella.
"I can never be around her again. I can't chance hurting her." Piper said, and Emmett frowned.
"She's your sister, Piper. You didn't mean it, and she knows that. You would regret leaving and not seeing her again." Emmett tried to reason, but Piper refused.
"I need to leave." She murmured, causing Emmett to nod wordlessly.
"Piper." She heard, causing her to turn towards Jasper.
Piper could see the distraught look on Jasper's face, so she knew he felt the same way as she had felt. Pulling away from Emmett, the girl walked over to Jasper and wrapped her arms around him. The two newest vegetarians were having a hard time, and this was one of the only ways they could help each other.
"Bella's gone. Edward brought her home." Carlisle stated, sticking his head outside for his children.
They slowly made their way inside, as they waited for Edward to come back. Piper was beating herself up over the whole incident, and it was evident that Jasper was too. Neither of them were going to handle their slop up well, which was already evident to everyone around them.
"It's not safe for us to be here. We need to leave. Bella will move on from us, and we'll be keeping her safe. What happened could've been way more dangerous for her than it was, and we don't need another incident like that again." Edward stated, after walking into the house.

Piper completely agreed with him. She didn't want to put her sister in harm's way. She didn't want to be the reason her sister was put in an early grave, so the only option was to leave Forks. Everyone already believed she was dead, so it wasn't like she had anything holding her back to Forks. She was doing it to keep her sister safe, and that's all she cared about.
"Where will we go?" Alice asked, causing Carlisle to turn to her.
"We can visit the Denalis. We haven't seen them in a while." He replied, and the others nodded.
"I'm going to go somewhere else for a while, but I'll be there later." Edward said, before he disappeared once again.
"Let's go pack." Emmett commented, grabbing his fiance's hand.
Piper and Emmett packed up all of their things, before placing everything in his jeep. Once they had everything, they left and headed towards the Denali's place.
"Do you think we'll ever come back to Forks?" Piper asked, causing Emmett to nod.
"Once a couple generations have passed and won't remember us anymore." He replied, smiling encouragingly at the girl.
Piper was going to miss Forks. She had grown up in the town for years. It was her home for a long time, but she was leaving it behind. She'd come back eventually, but she knew everything would be very different. Places change and evolve, and she knew eventually Forks would too, even if she didn't want it to change until she came back.
She was also going to miss her sister and father, but she knew this was the only way she could keep them safe from herself. If she didn't leave, she'd be putting them in danger. They were her old family, and she would always miss them, but she was going to move past it. She had a new family, one that would be with her forever, and she didn't plan to lose them ever. Since they couldn't die, she doubted she'd ever lose them, but she didn't want to jinx it. Her luck didn't always work out in her favor recently...
