《Cute but Psycho (Emmett Cullen)》Chapter Eighteen

Piper was woken up once again by Alice, but this time it was her telling the girl she had to get up because they needed to leave. Apparently James had figured out that he was being tricked, so he switched courses and was headed their way. Alice and Jasper left the room to check out, as Piper and Bella made sure their small bags were still packed. While checking, Bella's phone began to ring.
Bella answered it, and her words became frantic. Piper didn't know what was going on, but she knew something was wrong. As soon as Bella hung up the phone, she looked over at Piper.
"We have to go, James has Mom." Bella said, and Piper nodded.
Piper and Bella snuck out of the room and passed Alice and Jasper. Once they had snuck out, they took a taxi to the dance studio Bella use to learn ballet in. Piper didn't know what she was headed into, but she hoped whatever it was wasn't going to be too dangerous. She wanted to see Emmett again, and her dad, but she wouldn't if she ended up dead because of James.
Piper stayed out in the middle of the studio, as Bella ran towards the voice of their mother. When Bella realized it wasn't their mother, she jumped back and turned towards Piper. In one swift moment, James was behind Piper and had his hand around her throat.
"You two are so gullible, but that's fine. It worked out in my favor." James said, as he smiled sadistically down at Piper.
"Please, let me go." Piper pleaded, but James merely laughed.
"Oh, Piper, here's the thing, I was only really planning on one of you to come. I thought I'd have a better chase, but since I didn't I have a much better idea," James began,"You see, I was going to video Bella's death for Edward, and eventually yours as well, once I found you, but I've changed my mind." He said, throwing Piper across the room.

The way he threw Piper, causing the girl to hit one of the glass pillars. The problem was, not only had the glass broken and lodged itself in a couple places in her body, but she had hit the edge of the pillar, and she heard a snap. There was definitely broken bones, but when she cried out and couldn't move, she realized that her back had been the thing that snapped. She had no idea how many vertebrae that she broke, but she knew she was pretty much paralyzed for the moment.
"Piper!" Bella exclaimed, running to her sister.
"My back." Piper mumbled, pain radiating through her body.
James came over and threw Bella across the room, away from Piper. He then picked Piper up, causing more pain to run through her body. He held her to his chest, moving hair away from her neck, and took a small sniff of her scent.
"You see, Bella, this is what happens when you bring your sister along for your problems." James commented, before he buried his fangs in Piper's neck.
He had bitten down on her carotid artery, meaning his venom was pumping exceptionally fast to her heart. There was no way for anyone to save her. She'd be a vampire soon enough, and James couldn't stop the smirk that formed on his face because of the thought. Piper's body felt like it was on fire, as she laid on the ground withering in pain.
Edward had showed up soon enough, fighting with James. Bella did get hurt, and she did end up bit, but it was only on her wrist. When the rest of the family arrived, Dylan and Jasper took out James with Alice's help, as Carlisle tended to the girls. He had to help Edward with Bella, since they could easily save Bella, but there wasn't anything he could do for Piper.

"He knew what he was doing. He wanted to turn her, and there's no way for us to save her, Emmett. She's going to turn. The venom has been in her bloodstream too long for us to try and remove it. If you remove it, you'd kill her." Carlisle stated, causing Emmett to growl.
"H-her back." Bella mumbled, looking at Carlisle, as she somewhat regained very little conciousness.
"What's wrong with her back?" Carlisle asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Broken." Bella barely whispered, before she was completely unconscious.
"This venom will save her. If her back is broken, she'd be paralyzed. You know she'd never want that. Maybe this venom isn't so bad." Alice commented, and Emmett simply nodded in agreement.
"Take her home. I'll have to lie to her parents. She won't be able to see them again." Carlisle stated, before he called for an ambulance for Bella.
Dylan helped Emmett with Piper, as Alice and Jasper followed them home. Once they were home, Emmett placed Piper on the medical table in Carlisle's office.
"What happened?!" Rosalie exclaimed, as she ran into the room.
"James; he broke her spine and she has a few gashes. He bit her," Dylan said, showing Rosalie the girl's neck,"and Carlisle said we couldn't save her."
"The venom will work faster this way," Rosalie replied, her voice shaky,"She will be done with her transition, and she should be awake by morning."
"I will get her a new outfit. We should clean her up and change her once she's unconscious." Alice commented, and Esme nodded.
Esme stared down at the young girl with pity filled eyes. Piper wasn't meant to be a vampire, not until she absolutely wanted to be one. She was being forced into a life she didn't even know if she accepted yet. Everyone felt increasingly bad for her, but Jasper knew he would help her. He knew how it felt to be hungry around humans and barely be able to control himself, so he was going to help her learn how to control herself and maybe it would help him learn more control too...
