《Cute but Psycho (Emmett Cullen)》Chapter Seventeen

The next morning, Piper was hanging out in her room, when there was a knock at the front door. Slowly she crept down the stairs, until she seen Edward standing at the door talking to her father.
"My family and I would like to take Bella and Piper out to play baseball." He said, causing Piper to smile.
Once Charlie had agreed, Piper was told to put on baseball like clothes, which she thought was stupid. All she did was throw on a baseball jersey over her tshirt, which was a Chicago Cubs jersey, and tied her hair up in a ponytail. Once she was ready, she went back downstairs and left the house. Emmett met her outside, and he placed her on his back, before running all the way to the field where they were playing.
Esme wanted the girls to help her watch for cheaters, but Piper decided to just sit on the ground watching. Her legs were crisscrossed as she fully paid attention to the game in front of her. Every time they hit the ball, the noise seemed to be ten times louder thanks to the thunder. All of them were very fast, and she jokingly called Emmett her "monkey man," as she watched him play. Rosalie had chuckled at her words, which caused the girl to smile wider.
She had also watched the tension between Bella and Rosalie. She knew Rosalie wasn't Bella's biggest fan, and she had decided not to mention it. She knew it was in her best interest to keep things like that to herself. Later, as they continued to play, Alice suddenly yelled for them to stop. They raced to one end of the field, as Rosalie and Emmett seemed to stand protectively around Piper.
Alice explained that there were nomads, and they were leaving until the sound of their game had called them over. As the nomads came out of the woods, Emmett and Rosalie wrapped their arms around Piper's. Dylan stood behind the girl, glaring at the nomads that were headed their way.

Piper stayed quiet as Carlisle talked to the nomads, but when wind had blown past the vampires, it carried Bella and Piper's scents towards them. The blonde vampire had claimed that the Cullens had brought snacks, but Carlisle quickly dismissed the claims. Edward was freaking out, which was freaking out Bella, but Emmett knew he had to stay calm for his mate.
"I'm taking you home. Bella is going to cause a disturbance, and you're going to follow her lead. We'll go back to mine after you're packed, and we'll figure out what to do from there." Emmett said calmly, and Piper nodded.
Piper followed Bella inside, listening as the girl yelled at Edward, than yelled at Charlie afterward. Piper calmly told Charlie that she'd follow the girl to make sure nothing happened, and Charlie distraughtly agreed with her. Once she was packed, Emmett brought her to the Cullen house where the plans would be discussed.
When they arrived at the Cullen house, they were surprised to see One of the nomads. Piper forgot his name, but it didn't really matter to her. She listened as he told them about James, and she felt a little scared from his description of the blonde vampire. She hoped she'd never have a run in with him during the escape from his shenanigans.
"Alice and Jasper will take you, and I will make sure your father is safe. Once I know he's safe, I'll come for you." Emmett said, and Piper nodded.
"Promise me you'll be careful." She murmured, causing him to chuckle.
"I always am," He replied,"I love you." He added, as he pulled Piper into his chest.
"I love you, too." She answered, before he helped her into the car.
She pulled a book from her bag and decided to read the entire drive. She knew Bella was going to be sulking over the fact that Edward wasn't there, and Piper didn't want to deal with her sulking. She loved Bella, but sometimes Bella could be a pain.

When they arrived at the hotel, Alice went out for food, as Jasper stayed in the room with the girls. Piper had practically thrown herself on to the bed and fell asleep, as Bella paced around like a nervous nelly.
"Piper, you need to eat. Wake up." Alice cooed, as she gently shook the girl.
Piper groaned, but she sat up and grabbed the takeout bag from Alice. Alice had chosen to get McDonald's, since she knew the girls would be happy with any type of food. Well, Bella liked salad, but Piper was happy with a burger and fries. Alice had also gotten her a milkshake to dip her fries in.
"Rosalie and Esme are going to make sure Charlie is safe. Emmett, Carlisle, Edward, and Dylan are leading the tracker the other way." Alice said, and Piper nodded.
"How long will that work?" Bella asked, causing Alice to smile.
"As long as we need it to work, hopefully. If it doesn't I'll know, and we'll be able to leave." She replied, and Jasper nodded in agreement.
"I'm laying back down, wake me if anything happens." Piper said, before she walked back over to the bed.
Piper allowed herself to get comfortable and close her eyes. She felt like she had been running for days, but really, it'd only been hours. Car rides took a lot of energy out of Piper, and it had been that way since she was a kid. She wished she would've grown out of it by now, but sadly, she hadn't.
She loved sleep though, so Piper would never complain over the chance of being able to sleep. Hell, she'd sleep in the car, if she knew she wouldn't be left alone in it when they arrived at their destination. Besides, cars weren't as comfortable as beds, especially since Piper loved sleeping like a starfish. Sleep was practically Piper's middle name, even if she pretended to have energy all the during school...

Conquest Of Mortem
*NOTE* This novel is a war of attrition. To say anything less is a disservice to its demand. While comparable to other such works as Ulysses or Moby Dick, each sentence in Conquest is an enemy to be tackled. Not in the ways of difficulty but in absurd density that wishes nothing more than to destroy what patience you may have. Do not tackle chapters as you would ordinary chapters in an ordinary book. Tackle each chapter as a book unto itself. A foe to be vanquished, a period of life to leave behind. Seek to be master of this work. Seek to overcome. For in its design is the willpower, and the perseverance, and the strength of someone who sought meaning in struggle. As I discovered these in times of ultimate desperation, so I hope for you to discover these things. This novel is a love letter to your trials. May you overcome them. May you master them. May you become conquerer.- SeedSagaA literary epic for logophiles, philosophers, and poets alike. A journey into zeitgeist, the impact of media on culture, and the endurance of morality against an onslaught of hatred. These vague descriptions do little to compact Conquest's density into a bite-size summary. They do however relate the basest themes found within. A plot, if such can be surmised, is strung thinly across multiple perspectives, weaving together these concepts into a seemingly distorted tapestry of indecipherable events. Inspired by early 20th century modernism, Conquest will challenge the reader, and provide critique on the medium upon which all great stories are derived. Further interpretation is up to you now; an explorer among a sea of words. Venture on and discover what lies ahead, in...CONQUEST OF MORTEM

Modern Magic
A Modern Magician BookI looked up at the crooked holo sign while the perfectly bred woman read from a paper, a plastic smile glued to her face.'Welcome to The City,' she said in a fake voice. 'Once formerly known as New York, The City is a place filled with ancient and modern wonders. Remember, if you see any magicians please report to the nearest police station or Black Hand officer.'I smiled at the sign and then raised a single finger. No, not the middle one. A blue misty light spun from my finger and into the holo device. The message quickly changed from the fake woman to one of my own.'Welcome to The City,' the woman read, her hair now dyed a fuchsia. Her eyelids were a dark blue and her bottom lip and right eyebrow were pierced. 'A special message from Hecate, queen of magic.' The woman looked up at me, a smirk playing on her lips. 'Welcome to my city.'
